Penelope Cruz is the cover girl for the June issue of Vogue (America). These are some low-quality shots of the Vogue shots, courtesy of The Fashion Spot. I adore Penelope?s freckles. And her post-baby body is INSANE. The photographer is Mario Testino, and her clothes in the shoot are all D&G, by the way. Nice. Here are a few more shots:
Penelope took the Vogue cover - in her first big magazine interview since giving birth to baby Leo - because she?s about to start the promotional tour for Pirates of the Caribbean 4, which comes out in two weeks. I have no idea if people are still interested in this franchise, but given the recent appetite for needless sequels (Fast & Furious, blech), this one will probably do very well. In addition to Vogue, Penelope also appears on the cover of the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter. I?ve put some interview highlights and the cover below:
Penelope on doing an action film while pregnant: “It helped that I was a dancer for so many years and worked on the fight choreography for two months before I was pregnant. I really knew all the fights because [director] Rob [Marshall] put them together almost as a dance the way we had trained for Nine. That helped, and when we shot, I never did anything dangerous.”
Working with her ?Nine? director Rob Marshall: “Rob and I were eating together and he turned to me and said, ‘I have this question to ask you but I don’t know if I’m brave enough to ask as you may say ‘No’. ?Well Rob, you have to ask me,’ I said. And he turned and asked, ‘Would you like to do ‘Pirates’ with me and Johnny?’ I heard this and screamed. A very good scream. I really love Rob and have longed to work with him again. I want to kiss his feet.”
On Johnny Depp: “Johnny is a great friend, so genuine and unique. My memories of ‘Blow’? Wow that was such an extreme period. It was a wild set, very rock ‘n’ roll. I had missed working with him.”
On taking every job when she was younger: “When I started, when I was 16 or 17, I never even considered not doing a project. I just wanted to work. I knew who some of those I would work with would be pleasant, and others would be these huge a–holes. But now, if there’s one thing I can afford to do, having worked so hard for all of these years, it’s that if I go into a meeting with someone that is offering me a movie and I can clearly see they are going to be an a–hole, I will not do the movie. No matter what it is.”

Nice. I know that Javier and Penelope are rumored to be major d-bags in general, but I have to say, I usually like Penelope in interviews, and I?m excited to see her career moves in the future. I was never her biggest fan? until I saw Nine. She was the best part of Nine. And now I really enjoy her. Plus, I just want to see Leo. You know that?s one hot Spanish baby.

Stepping out after checking in with the show's co-hosts, Penelope Cruz was spotted exited the New York set after making an appearance on "Live! with Regis and Kelly" earlier today (May 2).
The 37-year-old, who made a quick departure from the talk show, looked beautiful as always while sporting a pair of silver hoop earrings and a black and white sheer, belted dress.
Penelope recently took to the press to discuss her much-anticipated upcoming film, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," telling this of her first go-around with a high-budget action movie: "I tend to choose smaller projects with less action, because that?s where I find the most interesting characters. But I have to say that here I found both. I found a very interesting character in a movie that is really big and it gave me the opportunity to see how those movies are made. And I love the pirate world because it?s so attractive and so interesting.?
Cruz also dished about her darling co-star for the second time, Johnny Depp, revealing these kind words: ?He?s so kind to everyone and so sweet and he has a really brilliant mind?smart, really clever, fast, really funny. He?s one of the funniest people I know and he has a very big heart. When you work with somebody like that, it?s special. He?s a very unique human being."

On Friday, Penelope Cruz got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lately, lots of bigger celebrities gave been getting their ?stars? which is kind of cool - I mean, I?d rather Penelope get a star than, like, Snooki. I like that many foreign celebrities have been getting stars too - because I think the international celebrities feel more honored, and seem truly moved by this symbol of Hollywood acceptance. Colin Firth practically wept at his Walk of Fame ceremony, and Helen Mirren invited her family, including her step-kids and step-grandkids, to come and celebrate her foot and hand-prints at Grauman?s Chinese Theatre. Penelope seemed genuinely happy too - her husband, Javier Bardem escorted her to the ceremony, and Johnny Depp gave a nice speech, as did Penelope?s Nine director Rob Marshall. Surprisingly A-list for such a cheesy ceremony, right? I love it.
Johnny Depp can’t say enough good things about Penlope Cruz as an actress, costar ? and as a new mom.
“She’s an inconceivably phenomenal mommy, which I’ve witnessed firsthand, and it’s pretty incredible,” Depp said on Friday of Cruz, who gave birth to a son in January. “She’s as loyal and true a friend as anyone could ever dream of and I’m very privileged to be able to have her in my life.”
Cruz, who was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of El Capitan Theater on Friday, feels just as lucky to have worked with Depp. In fact, she credits the actor with improving her language skills.
“I came to Los Angeles for the first time in 1994. I spoke no English. I only knew how to say two sentences: One was, ‘How are you?’ The other was, ‘I want to work with Johnny Depp,’ ” Cruz, 37, said Friday. “In the last 10 years I’ve worked with him twice, and that has improved my English.”
The Oscar winner worked with Depp on Blow and most recently on The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and she calls her costar a prankster on set.
But how would Depp describe their time together?
“It’s been a long road of giggles,” Depp added. “There’s nothing bad to say. I’ve even tried to provoke her into some fit of anger, it doesn’t work, I get nothing. Giggles, more giggles.”
Cruz has certainly had a lot to be happy about recently. The actress married Javier Bardem in July 2010 and the pair welcomed a son named Leo earlier this year. Cruz, the first Spanish-born actress to receive a star, was grateful for the honor and thanked her family “and of course my wonderful husband and my son for making me so happy every day.”

The first Spanish star? Then it?s especially nice. Good for Penelope! And considering she just recently had a baby, I?m not going to talk about how much I dislike this L?Wren Scott dress. It?s kind of cheap-looking, right? Whoops, I guess I talked about it. Since I?m being bitchy and over-critical, I also dislike Penelope?s cheap-looking too-light highlights. They look so trashy! And since we’re talking about clothes, I’m so glad Johnny put on his grossest-looking pair of jeans and his dirtiest flannel shirt.
By the way, Penelope and Javier?s son is named Leo. I mean, I don?t know it for a solid fact, but all of the reports claim the name is Leo, and Penelope and Javi haven?t denied it.
Oh, and Penelope?s heels were so crazy she almost feel down as she was walking to her star. I would love to see her do a ditzy comedic role where she had to do pratfalls - look at her face! She?s so funny.

Stepping out to receive one of the most honorable awards in Tinseltown, Penelope Cruz was awarded her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday (April 1).
The ?Blow? babe looked radiant in a deep purple dress and heels upon arrival and happily signed autographs for her adoring fan before accepting her star.
And aside from Penelope?s husband Javier Bardem being there to show support, her studly ?Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides? co-star, Johnny Depp was in attendance as well.
Cruz was honored in a ceremony conducted by movie director Rob Marshall and the brunette beauty?s star marks number 2,436 to be cemented into the famous walk outside of the El Capitan Theatre located in Hollywood, CA.

Stepping out for a media appearance, Penelope Cruz was spotted leaving the ?Jimmy Kimmel Live? studios in Hollywood, California last night (March 24).
The ?Vanilla Sky? actress looked absolutely fabulous in a form-fitting black dress as she strolled past the paparazzi and greeted fans.
During her interview with Kimmel, Penelope confessed that her ?Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides? costar Johnny Depp had a very childish prop on the set.
?He owns a fart machine,? Cruz shared. ?When I first met him ten years ago he had a plastic one but now he has one with a remote control. He fooled me with it once when we were filming ?Blow.??
?I was doing a very dramatic close up and he kept making the sound with the machine. We were looking around saying 'who did that? Was it the sound guy???

Getting a post-pregnancy checkup, Penelope Cruz was spotted heading over to the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (March 22).
Joined by her little brother (and boyfriend of Eva Longoria) Eduardo, the ?Vanilla Sky? actress looked lovely in a white jacket, white top, and jeans.
In career news, Penelope is featured in the new trailers for ?Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides? along with her hunky costar Johnny Depp.
The onscreen pair add a new dimension of sexual tension to the franchise, also starring Geoffrey Rush, Ian McShane, and Keith Richards.

I totally squealed a little when Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem showed up on the red carpet. This was the first time they ever did a big coupley, hand-holdy red carpet appearance, and they were so, so cute. Penelope just had the baby a month ago, and she?s got those gorgeous nursing boobs, and her body looks great. Javier looked very sweet and protective of her too, which I liked. I always enjoy seeing the dynamics of the couple on the red carpet - I thought Penelope seemed kind of shy and looking to Javier to ?protect? her and praise her. And Javier looked so proud to have her on his arm. That?s how I?m reading their body language, maybe I?m wrong. Sigh? I love them. I know they?re probably a–holes (by most gossip, they are), but I loved their big red carpet debut together.
Oh, and Penelope?s dress is L?Wren Scott, by the way. I like it! I get the feeling that if you could see it up close, the detailing would be really lovely.
Sidenote: what did you think of Javier?s homoeroticism with Josh Brolin? I loved it! The two of them made me squeal a little too. What is it about Javi and homoerotic fantasies?

Held at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, the pregnant ?Broken Embraces? beauty joined her man as he awaits word on whether he'll be crowned as one of the night's winners.
Hoping to take home a little hardware, Bardem is up for Best Actor honors for his work in the movie "Biutiful".
Meanwhile, the Oscar Awards are hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco while airing live on ABC at 8PM ET.
