Here are some photos of a very pregnant Reese Witherspoon with daughter Ava Phillipe outside a nail salon, and it’s very clear that Reese is at that stage of pregnancy when only airy, breezy dresses make sense. I just feel for her being at this late stage in the summertime because pregnancy already makes you feel hot enough without actual raised temperatures to add to the physical pressure.
Meanwhile, Reese continues to plot her post-baby career comeback, and we’ve already heard that her husband, Jim Toth, will be managing her career in the future. So far, the signs have not been encouraging with Reese signing on to film a Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus adaptation, but there might be a little bit of light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. 20th Century Fox just purchased the film rights to Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl, and Reese has signed on as a producer. At this stage in Reese’s (romcom heavy) career, one wonders if she is also planning to star in the movie, which would be an abrupt departure from what she’s done in the past several years:
It seems like just about everyone’s talking about Gillian Flynn’s latest novel, Gone Girl, and naturally the property?s film rights became a major get. Per Deadline, 20th Century Fox is the winning studio, as they apparently acquired the rights for an amount in the range of seven figures. Pacific Standard’s Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea will produce alongside Leslie Dixon. The book centers a man whose wife disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary, only to have all roads point to him as the woman?s killer. No word on whether Witherspoon would also star in Gone Girl, but she’s got a pretty full plate of upcoming projects at the moment.
Flynn will be handling the screenplay herself, and the author has two other feature film adaptations in development. Amy Adams is attached to star in Dark Places, with Gilles Paquet-Brenner directing, and Paranormal Activity guru Jason Blum is producing Sharp Objects.

I’m reading Gone Girl right now — it came out about a month ago, but I had to set it aside immediately after purchase after Goop recommended it in one of her peasanty newsletters. Nothing kills anticipation like Goop, you know? But I got over myself and just started the book, and if it turns out anything like Gillian Flynn’s other novels, and I honestly can’t see Reese pulling off a gritty thriller like this. Earlier on in her career, she pulled off some diverse roles including the similarly-toned Fear, but now? I think Reese has lost perspective after doing so many big-budget studio movies and, yes, all of those romcoms. Maybe Reese plans on sticking with strictly producing, or maybe she’ll just pop in for a bit role like she did when she produced Penelope. Regardless of Reese’s plans, I remain a huge Flynn fan and am thrilled to learn that Amy Adams will be playing Libby Day in Dark Places.

Showing off her growing midsection, Reese Witherspoon caught a flight at LAX International Airport yesterday afternoon (July 15).
The ?Sweet Home Alabama? babe looked beautiful in a patterned maternity top with cuffed jeans and sandals as she got ready to go through the security checkpoint.
Reese was joined by her husband Jim Toth, so it?s likely they were heading off for a babymoon before their child arrives later this year.
As for her career, Witherspoon is signed on to star in ?Gone Girl,? based on the Gillian Flynn novel.

Proving her hard work-ethic, a very pregnant Reese Witherspoon was spotted on the set of her newest film ?Devil?s Knot? in Atlanta, GA on Saturday afternoon (June 30).
The 36-year-old actress donned an outfit that added years to her appearance as she enjoyed a cold beverage before shooting scenes for the movie.
The ?Legally Blonde? beauty stars alongside Colin Firth, Mireille Enos, Kevin Durand and Dan DeHaan in the Atom Egoyan directed film, which follows the story of the 1993 murders of three eight-year-old children and the subsequent trials of three teenagers charged with and convicted of the crimes.
It?s based on the novel ?Devil?s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three,? and is scheduled to hit theaters some time in 2013.

Goodness, these might be the prettiest Reese Witherspoon photos ever. She?s a photogenic woman under normal circumstances, but the South of France really agrees with her, doesn?t it? Plus, she?s seven months pregnant and glowing. Anyway, Reese was all over Cannes yesterday as she promoted her new film, Mud, with Matthew McConaughey. Reese wore Versace for both the photo call (a great long-sleeved black minidress) and the premiere (a brilliant blue Atelier Versace gown which was super-sexy). Her makeup looked amazing. Her hair? well, there were some minor hair issues, but it was still pretty good and I loved that she seems to be growing out those thick bangs.
When she landed in France, she told Us Weekly, ?The flight over was actually pretty good. I feel great. I’m excited about showing the movie. The energy here is great!” Her husband, Jim Toth, came with her, although I see very few photos of him around. He pretty much stands back and lets Reese have the limelight – it feels like a very no-drama marriage.
Anyway, I don?t really have much to say beyond ?Jesus, she looks great!? She really does. Some women just look so amazing while pregnant. Reese is one of those ladies – gestating agrees with her.

Getting all glammed up for the premiere of their newest film on Saturday (May 26), Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey took over the spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival debut screening of their drama, ?Mud?.
The pregnant actress looked beautiful in blue as she showed off her growing bump while posing on the red carpet in a full-length flowing cobalt gown while her handsome co-star looked dapper in a black tux and bow tie.
Also in attendance for the red carpet premiere were legendary rocker, Sting, and his wife, Trudie Styler, along with Alec Baldwin and his fianc, Hilaria Thomas.
The Jeff Nichols directed flick echoes Mark Twain?s iconic book, ?The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,? in which two teenage boys encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trail to reunite him with his true love.
The script was especially appealing for Witherspoon, who recently told press that it felt like home, explaining, ?I grew up with my brother in a creek on a dirt bike riding around, doing motocross, down in the dirt, fishing in Tennessee, so when I read Jeff's script it just felt like home. I never get to see home on the big movie screen and Jeff brought such an authentic, beautiful story to the place and it was just very appealing for me.?

Joining the many stars taking to the European locale, Reese Witherspoon was alongside husband Jim Toth as the couple touched down at France's Nice Airport on Thursday (May 24).
Wearing a sheer black dress, the expecting actress held on tight to her man as they squeezed through the bustling terminal before loading into an awaiting ride and setting off on the thirty minute drive to the Cannes Film Festival grounds.
The southern France arrival comes as Reese is readying to step out for the Cannes screening of her new Jeff Nichols directed drama "Mud" - with the movie slated to debut this Saturday, May 26th.
Co-starring Matthew McConaughey, Michael Shannon and Sarah Paulson, the film tells the story of "two teenage boys who encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trailer and to reunite him with his true love."

The ?Legally Blonde? actress showed off her growing baby bump in a blue workout shirt that she paired with a baseball cap and black yoga pants while playing tennis with a friend.
She seems to be enjoying her new hobby as an onlooker recently told People, ?Reese was in a good mood. She was laughing with her girlfriends. They were all on the same side of the court and had tennis balls served at them by a trainer. It just seemed like a casual and relaxing practice game.?
The 36-year-old actress was recently spotted out on a hike with her children Ava and Deacon along with her parents.

Trying to keep off as much baby weight as possible, Reese Witherspoon was spotted working up a sweat while playing tennis at Brentwood Country Club in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday (May 16).
Showing off her adorable baby bump, the "Legally Blonde" actress wore a tight black racer back tank top with a purple tennis skirt and black Adidas hat and although she kept her dark sunglasses on for the tennis match, she didn't seem to have any problem keeping her eye on the ball.
Reese showed off her famous smile when she stepped out yesterday to pick up her kids from school in LA wearing a flowing polka-dot dress and nude flip flops as she made her way to the school.

This is a sad and somewhat confusing story about Reese Witherspoon’s parents. Apparently Reese Witherspoon’s dad, John Witherspoon, has remarried at 70 to a 60 year-old woman, but is not yet legally divorced from his first wife, Reese’s mom Mary Elizabeth. Mary Elizabeth and John separated way back in 1996, but they never officially divorced. In January, John remarried a woman named Tricianne Taylor. Now Reese’s mom has filed suit against John for bigamy, requesting that his second marriage be annuled. Mary Elizabeth has also obtained a restraining order against Tricianne, barring her from using the Witherspoon name. Mary Elizabeth claims that John is suffering from dementia and was not even aware of who Tricianne was when she confronted him about it. What’s more is that Tricianne is allegedly taking advantage of John monetarily, and is trying to use the Witherspoon name to obtain loans. Here’s more, from The Daily News:
As Reese Witherspoon awaits the birth of her third child, the actress? parents are at odds over allegations of bigamy.
The Oscar-winning star?s mother, Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Witherspoon, filed a petition in Tennessee Tuesday against her husband, John Witherspoon, to have his recent marriage annulled, according to The Associated Press.
Betty accuses John of bigamy, saying he can?t be married to a woman named Tricianne Taylor because he is still married to her. John, 70, and Taylor, 60, appeared in a wedding announcement in The Tennessean last month, which said the pair tied the knot on Jan. 14 and plan to have a summer reception in Nashville.
Betty, a 63-year-old nurse at Vanderbilt University hospital, says she is still in love with her husband of 42 years and does not want a divorce. The couple has been separated since 1996, but remains married.
She describes her husband as troubled, having long battled issues with alcohol, infidelity, hoarding and overspending, and believes he is suffering from early onset dementia. According to court documents, Betty thinks John?s new wife may be taking advantage of his mental condition.
“When I confronted my husband, he said he didn’t know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married,” she said in an affidavit.
The filing alleges Taylor has tried to take out loans as Mrs. John Witherspoon, lives in his condo, has had him sign a new will and drives a vehicle without permission from a family corporation run by Reese Witherspoon, 36.
She also says John tried to bring Taylor to their daughter?s March wedding to talent agent Jim Toth in California, but the woman was refused entry because she was not on the guest list.

I can’t imagine the pain of having a parent with dementia. A friend of mine is going through that with her dad. It’s hard for her to talk about but it sounds devastating. It must be even worse to know that someone is taking advantage of your loved one. Good for Reese’s mom for trying to do something about it, if this is all happening like she claims. Reese also must know about it, given that her dad showed up at her damn wedding with his new wife and was turned away.
This isn’t the first story we’ve heard about problems with Reese Witherspoon’s family. Her older brother, John, was arrested in 2002 for sexually assaulting a neighbor. John received two years probation for that incident. Reese later gave him a job working as her assistant on the set of a movie in 2006.

The pregnant ?Sweet Home Alabama? cutie tried her best to hide her growing baby bump behind her handbag as she made her exit to find some shutterbugs looming nearby.
Meanwhile, Reese has donated an autographed pair of Christian Louboutin high heels to raise money for the Hillsides Foster Soles charity for foster care awareness.
The Louboutins are up on eBay, along with shoes from celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Seth Green, and Denzel Washington.
