She?s always on the go, and Reese Witherspoon was spotted leaving a friend?s house in Brentwood, CA on Thursday (April 14).
The ?Legally Blonde? babe looked cute in a denim onesy and a pair of wedge sandals as she did her best to ignore those pesky photogs.
In other news, during a recent interview with MTV News, Witherspoon defended her ?Water For Elephants? co-star Robert Pattinson and his dancing moves.
When asked if she thought RPatz was an awful dancer, Reese quickly responded, "No, that's not true!"
"As dancers go, I wouldn't say it's his forte. I wouldn't say it's his favorite thing, but it actually ended up turning out really well in the movie. We had some doubts about whether we could pull it off,? she explained.

She?s always up to something, and yesterday (April 12) Reese Witherspoon was spotted out and about in Santa Monica, California.
The ?Walk The Line? actress paid a visit to Blick Art Materials for some supplies, sporting a black ball cap with a black jacket, black shorts and white sneakers.
Keeping herself in top shape, Reese also teamed up with a gal pal for a jog around her Brentwood neighborhood.
Ms. Witherspoon has been a little extra bright-eyed and bushy-tailed ever since tying the knot with her hunky hubby Jim Toth.

As I previewed yesterday, Reese Witherspoon is the cover girl for the May issue of Vogue, all to promote Water for Elephants. CB and I, both Reese fans, are in agreement about this: Reese is overselling this bitch. It?s all too much, and Reese looks? kind of desperate. Desperate for a hit, desperate to justify her paycheck, desperate to work with the best people? I don?t know. I don?t like this version of Reese. I also dislike this Peter Lindbergh photo shoot - I mean, we get it. She?s in a movie with an elephant. Her blonde looks frazzled and her makeup looks Christina Aguilera-esque. The styling just sucks, overall. The full Vogue article is here, and here are some highlights:
Tabloid attention: ?It usually heats up during, like, pregnancies or babies or marriage. It?s the drama of real life. . . . It?s interesting to people. Readers want to know! I was talking to an actress the other day who is pregnant right now, and she was like, ?What is it? What?s the deal?? She said, ?Oh, maybe once I have the baby no one will pay any attention,? and I was like, ?Bwah-ha-ha-ha!!!!? ? She exaggeratedly tosses her head back. ??Oh, yeah. They will leave you alone after you have the baby. Suuure. That?s exactly how it works.??
How she handles fame: ?I get hugged a lot,? she says. ?Which is fun. Mostly it?s all good, positive energy that comes to me. I like people. And at the end of the day, we?re all just people, you know? We?re all just going through it. Nobody?s life experience is all that much different than anyone else?s. We?ve all had our share of heartbreak. It?s the universal language of life.?
On Jim Toth: ?He?s wonderful,? she says, beaming. ?He?s just a really great guy, and I feel really lucky. It?s so cute: Over the holidays I was at a department store in L.A. with my friends, and these three women from Oklahoma came up to me, and they said??she lays on a thick Southern drawl?? ?Reese. We are so happy for yeeew. We liiike this guy for yeeew.? And I said, ?You do?!? ?Yes, ma?am. We think he is a niiice man. We think he is going to treat you well and be good to yeeew.? I was like, ?Really?? So sweet! And I told them my mother likes him very much, too.?
In a good place: I had been hearing from people who work with Witherspoon that she is in, as they say, ?a good place.? When I mention these reports, she looks at me with one of those faces she is famous for, a look that telegraphs surprise tinged with irritation. ?I mean . . . it sort of indicates that at other times I was not in a good place.? She laughs. ?Which is true. I have had my share of heartbreak. But I think your friends really know when you are at your happiest. Even though I am nervous and excited and all those things people feel when they are about to get married, I think I am mostly very calm right now. Usually, I?m a little bit of a squirrel. I have a squirrelly energy. Like, you don?t know where your next nut is gonna come from?? She stares at me with those unblinking blue eyes. ?At the moment I am not buzzing around all squirrelly and nervous. I just feel really lucky to be with someone who cares so much and is so kind and loving. You know? It?s a really nice thing to finally have that.?
Preparing for Water for Elephants: ?About three months before the movie started, I went to circus school,? she says, ?doing trapeze and acrobatics with Cirque du Soleil performers. A lot of it is flexibility and learning to bend your body backward. I had been a gymnast when I was little, so getting that flexibility back was really fun.? Then she went to a ranch to train with Tai [the elephant]; she was slightly nervous the first day. ?She could crush you with her jaw, but she knows the exact right amount of pressure with which to pick you up but not hurt you. It?s really incredible. I trust her more than any other animal I have ever been around.?
Hollywood life: ?You know, it can be a crazy life. Sometimes you feel like you are on a speeding train and you just don?t know where it?s going. You can start to lose your identity and what it is that you are really working for.? Like a lot of working women, she?s constantly looking for the right balance. ?I don?t wake up to make movies. I wake up to have a wonderful family and to cultivate the best life for all of us, and it?s great to now have a partner in that. We have a lot of family meetings. ?Mom?s going to be away and coming home on the weekends. How does everybody feel about that?? It?s always military operations around here. Lots of different moving parts. I have my moments when I feel like I?m just going to collapse and I can?t do it anymore and I?m failing at everything. Like, you?re kind of good at a bunch of stuff but not really good at anything.?
On being 35 years old: ?I?ve had some really kind of sad moments lately. You don?t go backward! And I think 35 for a woman is a big thing. I remember when I was a little girl looking up at my mother at 35 doing her hair in the mirror, and I thought, my mother has never been more beautiful. She had years of wisdom you can?t erase. And now I feel the same way when I look in the mirror. You can?t pretend you are an ingenue. You can?t pretend you are wide-eyed and innocent. It?s on your face! It?s in your body. It?s in your voice. It?s in your reactions to things when people say, ?I just did the most morally corrupt thing I?ve done in my life? and you literally don?t blink.? She laughs. ?You?ve either done it yourself or you know someone who has.?
The difference between 26 and 35: Because I first met Witherspoon eight years ago, when I interviewed her for this magazine, I ask her, What does 34 know that 26 didn?t? ?I definitely know now that I know nothing,? she says. ?When I was 26 I would have told you a lot of things that I thought I knew really, really well,? she says. ?I was a little more shut down in my 20s. I was really scared of a lot of things and a lot of people. I have gone through so many changes since then. Obviously, being divorced and having a couple of relationships. I?m much more open than I was. I think with life experience you go: I have no idea what?s next. The unexpected doesn?t surprise me anymore. It really shocked me then. [I was] really blindsided. I was always shocked about finding out things or behavior or people?s attitudes toward things. You just realize that you don?t know anything about love or relationships.?
On privacy: But one thing that hasn?t changed is that she is as private as ever. Indeed, she seems almost constitutionally unsuited for the level of fame she has to live with. At one point, I ask her what is the worst thing about being Reese Witherspoon, and she pauses for a very long time. Finally she says, ?I mean, I feel like an ingrate for even thinking anything isn?t good. I?m very, very, very lucky. But . . . umm . . . probably that I parted with my privacy a long time ago. We went different ways. And sometimes I mourn it. Sometimes I will sit in the car and cry. Because I can?t get out. That?s the only thing: I mourn the loss of my privacy.?
[From Vogue]
Yeah, people who sell their wedding photos to People Magazine and Hello Magazine don?t really have the right to whine about their privacy. But those are the only comments I really took issue with. My favorite exchange is actually a little aside by the author, who says that Reese has a habit of finishing his sentences, with hilarious results. He started a sentence, ?People who love fashion often . . .? and Reese finished it with ? . . . Lack perspective?? Ha! That?s the Reese I love.

She has a new husband and a hit movie on the way, and Reese Witherspoon is on top of her game both personally and professionally.
The ?Sweet Home Alabama? actress is featured on the cover of Elle UK magazine?s May 2011 issue and she looks fabulous.
During her interview with the magazine, Reese shared that her first try at marriage (with Ryan Phillippe) was definitely a learning experience.
?I was so, so young. I was, like, ridiculously young. I learned a lot, though. It was an excellent opportunity for me to really find out what it means to be a partner and to be in a marriage and it's not anything that I thought it was.?
?I think dating is inherently complicated, anyway; what I do for a living makes it even more complicated. Let's just say I'm happy to not be dating. I met a wonderful man. I feel really, really lucky."

I already had a preview of Reese Witherspoon?s Elle UK cover last week, but now we have some additional images from the cover shoot, as well as some additional quotes. It?s like what CB was talking about yesterday - Reese is shilling her wedding story and photos because she really wants Water for Elephants to be a big hit. She needs a hit, and she needs to keep being one of the top-grossing women in Hollywood. I don?t really know why she feels like she needs this all so badly, but she does, and she?s being really obvious about it. I tend to forgive Reese for the most part, though. I think because I buy her celebrity persona for the most part - she fronts (and actively cultivates) an image of herself that is anal-retentive, un-Hollywood, down-to-earth, and boring-mom. I genuinely think that?s who she is in real life, and I think that this shilling game is kind of new to her. Anyway, here are some additional highlights from Reese?s Elle interview:
Reese Witherspoon is candid about the entertainment industry, from rejection (”They can really kick ya, you know?”) to the pressure to always look perfect.
“I feel for these women,” she says. “The guys get dressed and it?s no big deal, and they?re there because they?ve given a great performance. For every woman it?s, ‘What is she wearing?’ And, ‘But did she wear that to the last awards show?’ And, ‘What will she wear to the next awards show?’ And none of it is about her performance or how hard she worked?and those are the women who did extraordinary work.?
“I?m not going to lie, it?s fun to watch. But at a certain point, I go, ‘Wait, strip it all down.’ These girls?I shouldn?t say girls, these women?worked really hard, really hard, and now it?s reduced to ? ‘She looks frumpy.’ How hard we are on people who are just doing their best. When we start measuring women on their appearance ? We?re just too hard on each other. Women need to be more supportive of each other, stop tearing each other apart. There?s plenty of room for all of us. There?s plenty of men for all of us. There?s plenty of jobs. There?s plenty of room! I really believe it. Another actress out there has a number-one movie? They?re going to make more movies about women. A female writer sells a script? They?re going to look at another script from another woman. The better one woman does, the better all women do.”
Miss Witherspoon is starring in a new film, released at the end of this month, called Water For Elephants, in which she plays glamorous circus star Marlena Rosenbluth alongside Robert Pattinson, who plays circus vet Jacob Jankowski. But she said that her life as an actress is not glamorous, especially when she works hard to juggle her career and motherhood.
She said: ?There?s this fallacy that we can have it all. I get it often, ?Oh, you have it all? - and I don?t. It?s hard. And there are times I take two years off and I don?t work. And there are times I go to work and I feel sick because I can?t see my kids for five days. And it?s real hard to go. Work is important to me. The kids are important to me. My relationship?s important to me. But all three can?t be functioning at 100 per cent at all times.?
[From The Mail & Fashion Etc.]
Do I really think Reese is the pragmatic feminist that she seems to be selling in this interview? Eh. I think she wants to see more female-dominated stories in Hollywood, and I think she wants more women to work in Hollywood, but I suspect all of this Ra-Ra-Sisterhood stuff is more about Reese in particular wanting to work and Reese in particular wanting better scripts. All of the half-decent romantic comedy scripts are going to other actresses! Wah, feminism!!!
By the way, here?s Reese?s Hello! cover this week - I like this shot so much more than the People cover.

She tied the knot with talent agent Jim Toth last month, and Reese Witherspoon didn?t have much time to enjoy wedded bliss before heading back to work.
The ?Cruel Intentions? actress chatted about how things are going so far- ?It?s good. Now I?m working. How did that happen??
She also noted that her ?Water For Elephants? costar Robert Pattinson was amazing to work with, despite their slight age difference.
?Somebody said to me, ?Was it totally weird, like, being so much older than Rob?? And I was like, ?I?m not that much older than Rob!??

Doing some promotion for their film ?Water For Elephants,? Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson were spotted presenting an award at the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (April 3).
The ?Sweet Home Alabama? newlywed and the ?New Moon? stud were both dressed to the nines as they took the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
When asked how he got Pattinson to take part in the show, CBS honcho Jack Sussman told press, ?We invited him, he said yes. He?s bringing Reese Witherspoon and we?re putting on a big party?it?ll be a big weekend here in Vegas, have a lot of big acts, he?s going to join us??
Once onstage, the pair started walking in the wrong direction before finding their way to the mic and getting into a little banter about filming in Tennessee and drinking moonshine.
Rob and Reese then proceeded forth with their bestowed presenter obligations by naming Miranda Lambert as Female Vocalist of the Year.

This is Reese Witherspoon?s cover for the May issue of Elle UK. She?s promoting Water For Elephants, so I?m thinking that Reese is going to be on the cover of several May issues. I like this shot a lot - Reese?s appeal is as a ?normal? mom and now wife who is somehow beyond the average Hollywood junk. She?s usually styled as such too - big Southern hair, big smile, kind-of Southern, pageanty dresses. I like her when she changes it up - and this is such a sexy shot. Sexy, and clean and minimalist. Love it!
There are some excerpts from the Elle cover interview too - it sounds like Reese is really talking about marriage and Ryan and Jim? very interesting:
Reese Witherspoon tied the knot with Ryan Phillippe in 1999 when she was 23. They have daughter Ava, 11, and seven-year-old son Deacon together, but got divorced in 2007. Last weekend Reese married Hollywood agent Jim Toth at a ceremony in California. The two are very happy together, but that doesn?t mean Reese regrets her first wedding. She is still friends with Ryan and says being with him enriched her life.
?Oh, I was so, so young. I was, like, ridiculously young. I learnt a lot, though. It was a good opportunity for me to really find out what it means to be a partner and to be in a marriage and it?s not anything that I thought it was,? she told the May edition of UK magazine Elle. ?You can?t say, ?I don?t want to talk about that.? You just can?t. You?ve got to talk about it all.?
Reese, 35, is amazed she?s managed to find happiness again. She was thrilled when Jim proposed at the end of last year, revealing the moment completely took her breath away.
?It?s an exciting feeling. [Somebody saying], ?You?re the one.? And it?s a surprise. You know, I?m surprised when people who aren?t

| Reese Witherspoon's wedding actually sounds really cool & really Southern | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?ve talked about this before, but I really need to stress it for this post - I am not a wedding person. I don?t have the bride gene. When I see a show about picking out the perfect wedding gown, I change the channel to a rerun of Law & Order: SVU. Fluffy white gowns, seating arrangements, wedding waltzs, floral arrangements, all of that stuff that brides seem to obsess over - I just don?t care. This is probably one of the many reasons why I?m not married (that, and I?m not a baby person either). If and when I ever get married, it will not be some big thing. I?ll either elope, or go down to a court house while wearing a suit, or maybe something really, really simple with, like, barely anyone there and just a lot of food.
So imagine my surprise when I was reading even more details of Reese Witherspoon?s weekend wedding (go here for yesterday?s post about her nuptials), I found myself thinking, ?Damn, that sounds really nice.? Reese invited lots of A-listers to her wedding (RDJ!), but she kept everything really down-home and Southern and the whole thing sounds really cool:
When Reese Witherspoon wed Jim Toth at her Ojai, Calif. ranch on Saturday evening, the couple was 90 miles north of Los Angeles — but the vibe of the night was a universe away from Hollywood glitz! UsMagazine.com has brand-new details on the Oscar winner’s big-time nuptials.
In a courtyard in front of the Ojai house, the Monique Lhuillier-clad actress, 35, and CAA agent Toth, 40, exchanged vows and William Goldberg wedding bands beneath a canopy.
About 120 family members and friends– including Sean Penn, Scarlett Johansson, Renee Zellweger, Tobey Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer, Robert Downey Jr., Matthew McConaughey and love Camila Alves, Alyssa Milano, Colin Hanks, Isla Fisher and hubby Sacha Baron Cohen– were on hand for the bash.
Reverend Jimmy Bartz, of the Santa Monica church regularly attended by the couple, officiated the 20-minute service, and Witherspoon’s children (with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe) Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7, participated in the ceremony.
Matron of honor duties went to Witherspoon’s best friend Heather Rosenfield, whose little boys served as ring bearers; the star’s nieces were flower girls.
In a fitting turn for the Southern-born actress, a bluegrass band played “Tennessee Waltz” as the processional music for Toth and the kids, segueing to “Here Comes the Bride” for Witherspoon’s walk, and playing “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” during the ceremony.
Immediately following the “I do” exchange, guests retreated to a one-hour cocktail party behind the house.
The special night’s theme? Rustic, farm-style, of course! (At her bucolic Ojai spread, Witherspoon gardens and keeps horses, donkeys, pigs, goats and chickens.) The outdoor decor included lanterns and chandeliers hanging from trees, mismatched antique chairs and distressed benches set throughout the property, a wood plank dance floor, antique leather sofas, jute rugs, wago wheels and Turkish textile pillows.
Different arrangements of white, blush and lavender flowers were set up on each table in mason jars, fish catcher lanterns and antique pots. And large moss-covered pots with lavender were set up all over the estate.
When it was time for dinner, guests sat down at long tables in a fabric-lined tent behind the house. On the menu, catered by L.A. eatery Lucques: endive salad with olives and fava beans; wild striped bass with potatoes, chanterelles and garlic; mustard grilled chicken with haricort vert and herb roasted lamb with braised artichokes. For dessert? A grand wedding cake designed by Erica O’Brien, a separate table of sweet treats — and a s’mores lounge!
After the meal, guests boogied on the dance floor to DJ-spun tunes. When it was time to call it a night, revelers departed clutching gift bags with pecan currant scones from a local baker.
Says a pal of the couple, who began dating in January 2010: “They feel like they’ve hit the jackpot in this relationship!”
[From Us Weekly]
Okay, if and when Gerard Butler/Michael Fassbender/Ralph Fiennes wants to marry me and he really wants a big, Hollywood wedding, we?re doing it like this. I like Reese?s plan, and I would happily copy it. Now Gerard just needs to buy me a big ring. And Michael needs to rest up for the honeymoon.

Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon married boyfriend of one year Jim Toth at her 6-acre ranch in Ojai, California on Saturday. It was the second marriage for Reese, who was wed to actor Ryan Phillipe for seven years before divorcing him in 2007. Us Magazine says:
Wearing a custom-designed Monique Lhuillier gown, the actress, 35, exchanged vows with CAA agent Toth, 40, in front of 120 family members and friends (including Renee Zellweger, and Alyssa Milano, and Tobey Maguire) in the front courtyard of the Ojai house.
Witherspoon’s best friend, Heather Rosenfield, served as matron of honor, and her kids with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe — daughter Ava, 11, and son Deacon, 7 — took part in the ceremony. The Oscar winner’s young nieces served as flower girls.
The “Tennessee Waltz” was the processional music for Toth and the kids, while Witherspoon walked down the aisle to “Here Comes the Bride.”
I actually met Reese Witherspoon right after she did Fear at this bar called Boundry in Nashville, and she was as nice and down-to-earth as she could be. At least until my douchebag boyfriend sauntered up and asked her if being finger-banged by Mark Wahlberg was the highpoint of her career. Then she said, “Yeah, it’s on my fucking resume, asshole” and flipped us the bird before storming off. Then I cried because a famous person gave me the middle finger in public. True story.
