Back when Beyonc?s Lemonade came out, the majority of us wanted to know just who the hell Becky with the Good Hair was. As Kaiser covered, Rita Ora was once a Becky suspect, to which she issued an adamant denial. She didn?t say she wasn?t Becky, just that she idolized both Beyonc and Jay Z, with whom she recently settled a lawsuit over a contract dispute with his record label. Rita was interviewed by Vanity Fair to discuss her new record deal and her hosting gig at America?s Next Top Model. Interviewer Lisa Robinson asked Rita how things were with Jay and Bey. Rita tried to avoid riling up the Beyhive again but ended by throwing a little mud in their direction.
L.R.: Are you still friendly with Jay Z?
R.O.: First and foremost, Jay Z is my inspiration and one of my idols?lyrically, musically, business-wise. I still look up to him and his wife every day. Beyonc was one of my biggest idols growing up.
L.R.: You?along with other women?were embroiled in the ?Becky with the good hair? brouhaha after Beyonc released Lemonade. You posted a photo of yourself on Snapchat wearing a bra with a lemon print from your clothing line, and you wore a ?Not Becky? pin at a Met Ball after-party.
R.O.: That [pin] was a present from Katy Perry. Maybe I was the only one seen wearing it, but there were others. As for the rest of it, I?m oblivious, I?m just not the gossip queen. I find it incredibly rude and disrespectful to women in general [when] we get accused of something that?s basically against the important part?the music.

Rita is the queen of talking around a point, isn?t she? ?Are you Becky?? ?I love those guys!? ?Are you pissed at Jay Z?? ?Beyonc was my hero!? ?Why did you put yourself into the Becky conversation?? ?Feminism. And Music is important, Rude-y McRudeston!? I agree that baseless accusations are rude but if Beyonc issues a written invitation to figure out who was messing with her man and you look like you just got done brushing your hair? Duck and cover. I wax and wane on Katy Perry but the fact that she was passing out ?Not Becky? pins at the Met Ball made me fall a little in love with her. Anyone who walks into a powderkeg with a pocketful of flints is somebody I want to get a drink with.

Robinson also manages to bring up Rita?s ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris not allowing her to perform their songs. Rita once again walked around the question, ending cryptically with, ?Love is so great, but it also can be the most dangerous thing on planet earth. People do crazy things when it comes to jealousy and love.?
Speaking of crazy, can someone explain this outfit to me?

Sometimes I feel sort of bad for Rita Ora. It?s like she?s never really been able to find her niche, so she?s still hustling for increasingly random jobs. In addition to her singing career (she?s put out one full album), Rita has also picked up gigs on reality competitions. She?s been a coach on the British version of The Voice, she?s been a judge on the British X-Factor, and now she?s got a new reality show gig: she will be the new host of the revamped America?s Next Top Model. ANTM is being rebooted and it?s moving to VH1. Tyra Banks is still the executive producer, and I?m assuming Tyra had a big hand in naming her successor as host. But? Rita Ora? She?s not really a model. She?s not even known for a particularly strong ?look? or her editorial work. It just seems like a random choice.
America’s Next Top Model’s VH1 revival is shaping up. Tyra Banks revealed the new judging panel for the show’s 23rd cycle, headed by new host Rita Ora. Banks will remain behind the scenes as executive producer for the new season, which will feature model Ashley Graham, stylist Law Roach, and Paper magazine chief creative officer Drew Elliott on the revamped judging panel.
Banks unveiled the new judging panel to USA Today and teased the new season, saying, “It’s no longer just about having the highest cheekbones and best pout and the best hair. My goal is to really get into these girls’ heads that I’m not looking for some successful model and I’m not looking for some social media star. I’m looking for both. I’m looking for a hybrid, because that’s where the world is.”
The 23rd cycle will return to its original format of featuring all female contestants after having co-ed contestants since cycle 20. Deaf male model Nyle DiMarco won cycle 22 (as well as season 22 of Dancing with the Stars), the last season to air on The CW before VH1 acquired the franchise. America’s Next Top Model’s new season debuts later this year on VH1.

Ashley Graham-as-ANTM-judge is a thing of beauty. I LOVE THAT. They should have let Ashley host the damn thing, because I truly fear that Rita is going to be A) a charisma vacuum, and B) ridiculous as host. As for what Tyra Banks wants from the reboot of ANTM? that is where the industry is, honestly. Models are expected to have a social media presence these days, and ?Insta-modeling? is the thing. Ashley Graham will understand that. But will Rita Ora?

Rita Ora was hanging out of her ostrich-looking Vera Wang gown at the Met last night, but that’s typical for her. She often hangs out of whatever it is she’s wearing. At least there’s nude material built into it to avoid wardrobe mishaps. This dress reminds me a bit of Bjork’s Oscar swan dress, but I guess that’s going to be the case with any gown with feathers and cutouts until the end of time. This is also very Katniss, although it doesn’t look like a specific dress from the Hunger Games and is more of an homage. It’s a gorgeous dress, I’m just not sure that Rita is the right person to wear it. Maybe her goofy makeup is throwing it off. (Update: thanks to those of you who pointed out that feathers are very Met Gala circa 2012.)
In case you were wondering if things were ok between Rita Ora and Beyonce following Rita’s reference to lemons and her denial that she was one of the Beckys, Rita Snapchatted a selfie with Beyonce. She captioned it “family,” and it looks like she caught Beyonce on her way to the bar, but I can buy that they spent five minutes together.
Also in silver was Allison Williams, in Peter Pilotto. I love the modern swoop of the sequin stacked stripe along this heavily embellished gown. My mom is a quilter and she’s been telling me about these very expensive quilting machines which have computerized options for embroidering patterns on the fabric where this used to be done by hand. That’s what this gown reminds me of, particularly the precision of the striping.
Adriana Lima was in black, white and blue Giambattista Valli with a full skirt. This is how you do contrasting patterns so that they’re interesting instead of clashing. I heard on E! that there was a moratorium on selfies last night but maybe that only counted when they were inside. Rita Ora didn’t get the message.
This dress had a bolero cape if that’s a thing. I guess it is now.

Here’s Wendi Deng, in Christopher Kane. US Weekly was talking about the fact that it’s Wendi’s first red carpet since we heard that she snagged Vladimir Putin. I imagine dating the leader of Russia must be more trouble than it’s worth, but he also has a net worth of $70 billion. Wendi knows how to pick ‘em. The floral pattern on this dress is too busy for my taste.

The star had her long black hair tied back out of her face on Monday as she was spotted at the event, continuing her trend of flashing the flesh during her time in the French capital.

Here is Rita Ora stepping out during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Sunday wearing little more than a few swatches of orange fabric seemingly tied together with what looks like bungee cords.
After posing for the assembled paps outside the venue in the French capital, Rita took her place on the front row, which we’re sure would have been a little trickier than usual to navigate.
The ?X Factor? judge was spotted enjoying the waves of the Atlantic ocean in an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny polka dot bikini, the bottoms of which tried to make a bid for freedom at one point.
