Finally, we have some new photos of Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise out and about in New York City! It’s been a few weeks since that’s happened, and it’s nice to see the girls doing their thing. On Sunday, Katie was even wearing a cute red dress with a black leather jacket (you can see those photos here) without her famous fug booties. On Saturday, Katie went casual and kept the fug booties on while she and Suri went for a training-bike ride together on an NYC pathway. Those booties shall live forever, but at least Katie and Suri are having some good, old-fashioned, cheap fun together.
Speaking of (relatively) cheap fun, last week’s trip to Toledo was a good one, and Suri apparently enjoys flying commercial (contrary to a certain In Touch story) so much that as they were waiting in the security line, Suri said “I love you, I love you, I love you, Mommy.” That last little tidbit comes from Page Six, and it was probably a Holmes plant, but I still believe it. Now what I do have trouble believing is that Katie is deluded enough about her Holmes & Yang line to think that she can upstage former BFF Victoria Beckham at Fashion Week. It’s on, bitches:
Former best friends Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes will be fighting it out on the catwalk next month and the claws are out.
I am told the pair, whose friendship fizzled out long before Katie’s recent split from Tom Cruise, are both hosting shows on September 9 during New York fashion week.
Katie, 33, will be showing her Holmes & Yang collection for the first time while Victoria, 38, will be staging her VB show at the New York Public Library.
My sources say Katie is planning to use the hype surrounding her split from husband Tom to overshadow the column inches Victoria desperately wants for her VB range.
“Katie is definitely hoping to upstage Victoria,” an insider says. “This is her first show and she?s determined to prove that she can pull it off.”

Kaiser and I were talking about this, and we both begrudgingly agree that Victoria does have some fashion cred — thanks to the likes of Kate Winslet, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, and Demi Moore, who have all worn Posh’s designs on the red carpet. I’m not a big fan of Victoria’s line at all and think that her clothes mostly look good only on Victoria (even though Jennifer Lawrence pulled off a VB look not too long ago), which is probably the point. Will Victoria ever achieve her ultimate fashion dream of dressing Tilda Swinton? Of course not. However, Victoria at least dresses like a fashionista and wouldn’t be caught dead in fug booties. Unlike poor Katie.

When the Spice Girls announced late last month that there would be a new musical based on their songs (none of them will actually be in it, but their music will be), Victoria Beckham stood apart from the rest of her former bandmates and looked visibly pissed off. I guess that’s just her default look, but it was still funny to me. You can see the video of this over at D-Listed. During the announcement Victoria stands to the side, dressed in black, barely talks and looks down a lot. As Michael K at D-Listed writes, she looks like an “emo goth teen.” When Posh finally talks, some of the other girls, especially Sporty and Scary, look like they’re trying to ignore her. So it definitely looks like there’s some bad blood there and like Posh is less than enthusiastic about any kind of reunion.
According to a new article in Radar, Posh didn’t want to perform with The Spice Girls at the Olympics, but when she heard that they were going to go on without her she caved. I believe this.
The Spice Girls were prepared to perform without fellow band member, Victoria Beckham at the Closing Ceremony for the London Olympics, because David Beckham’s wife had told the group she was just too busy with her fashion label and taking care of her four children, but when she learned that the band would perform without her she had a change of heart, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
“Danny Boyle (producer of the opening & closing ceremony for the London Olympics) had been trying to get the Spice Girls to perform for over a year and a half,” a source close to the band tells Radar. “He felt that there was no way London could host the Olympics and not have the Spice Girls perform. They hold the record for the most popular all female band in history and are a really important part of the British music scene.
“The lone holdout during the entire negotiation process leading up to the Games had been Victoria. Victoria said her schedule just wouldn’t permit it because of commitments with her fashion line and her duties of being a mother, including daughter, Harper, who just turned one year old. The ladies decided they would perform without Victoria because they felt it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to play for a worldwide audience at the Olympics. Once Victoria learned of their plans she was able to juggle her schedule to allow her to perform too.”
The Spice Girls wowed viewers of the closing ceremony and the ladies performed a medley of their 90?s hits, and all looked fantastic in their outfits that represented their persona with the band. Posh Spice wore a revealing black gown that showed off her gorgeous gams, and Mel B, Scary Spice wore a form fitting glitter bodysuit, which complimented her toned physique.

This reminds me of how Robbie Williams didn’t want to join the Take That reunion, and then got depressed (allegedly) when their comeback without him was so successful in 2007. It’s like Posh knows that it’s going to be fun without her, but she can’t bring herself to do it and go back there. Did she think they weren’t going to go on without her, though? Was that her original game plan? She seems to have been on board ultimately, as she tweeted a lot of messages about how much fun she had. Personally I love going to reunions. Like even if I wasn’t friends with everyone all of that fades away when you’re partying and talking about the good old days.
Also, I wanted to talk about the lip syncing situation at the Olympics. You could tell that they were lip syncing most of the time, although some artists seem to have sung live. The Spice Girls were definitely lip syncing, but they did it to a track that was recorded live, which gave it a lot more authenticity. That was clever.

Kicking off her week in the City of Light, Victoria Beckham arrived at the Gare Du Nord train station in Paris, France this morning (July 23).
Joined by her adorable son Romeo, the singer/fashion designer looked gorgeous as she made her way to the Chanel store for some retail therapy.
And though she set to join her Spice Girls cohorts for a rumored performance at the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremonies, Victoria is getting slammed by fellow bandmate Geri Halliwell.
Ginger Spice reportedly told a gal pal, "After the Olympics I can't even imagine even talking to her again, let alone being on a stage with her. Mel B was right; she has lost the spirit of the band."
Meanwhile, a rep for Beckham told press, "The Spice Girls have received some amazing invitations to perform over the last few years, however, personal family and professional reasons mean this has not been possible, the Olympics is one more amazing opportunity but no announcement has been made or confirmation given, so this is nothing more than speculation at this time.?

Sharing an afternoon to celebrate the birth of their close friend, David and Victoria Beckham were spotted arriving at Simon Fuller?s house in London, England on Monday (July 9).
The stunning duo was dressed to the nines as the brunette beauty rocked one of her self-titled collection dresses while her hubby looked dapper in a customized suit as they prepared for the birthday celebrations.
Although he may not be on the Olympic team, the London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe recently said that the 37-year-old soccer hunk has ?two very clear roles? for the summer games.
Beckham was a key figure in the bid team that helped secure the Olympics in 2005 and is one of the most visible celebrity supporters of it in the years since.
Coe said, ?We are scoping a role for him at the moment... I actually spoke to him over the course of the weekend,? adding, ?He will be more than an ambassador given what he has done, the commitment he has given and the amount of time he has spent with us in London on this project.?

Joining Kate and Pippa Middleton in the Royal Box, David and Victoria Beckham were spotted at the Wimbledon match this afternoon (July 8) in London, England.
The stunning couple looked lovely as the 38-year-old beauty rocked a green and black dress while her hubby looked dapper in a tailored suit as they watched Britain?s Andy Murray take on tennis legend Roger Federer.
According to reports, Great Britain is in a so-called ?Murray Mania? as they back the hopeful to take home the country?s first men?s single title in more than 70 years.
In other news, due to a penalty issued on June 30 against the San Jose Earthquakes, the LA Galaxy soccer stud will not be playing in his team?s game against the Chicago Fire this evening.
Beckham was accused of "unacceptable and detrimental" conduct during the match when he kicked several balls in the direction of Sam Cronin and the referee while the game was stopped.

On her way to catch a flight to the UK, Victoria Beckham was spotted making her way through the LAX terminal in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (June 24).
The 38-year-old fashion designer looked flawless in a cape-style trench coat by Junya Watanabe and a pair of sky-high ankle boots while keeping her hair simple in a low ponytail and showed off a large rose gold watch on her left wrist.
Before buttoning herself into the stunning trench coat Victoria asked her Twitter fans for some fashion advice tweeting, "What is the weather like in London? I heard it was cold!!!! and rainy!! what should I wear? X vb".
The former "Spice Girls" singer revealed she is headed to London for a "Big event" and gave a little hit as to who else will be at the event when she tweeted, "Travelling to London today!! Song of the day "Spice Up Your Life"!! x vb".
Victoria will be featured in the "Viva Forever" musical - produced by Mamma Mia's Judy Craymer - which will launch at London's Piccadilly Theatre on Tuesday.
According to Daily Mail, "the show will feature around 16 numbers associated with the Spice Girls line-up Victoria, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown, respectively Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary Spice."

CB and I were checking out Victoria Beckham’s oddly magnificent caped trench earlier today, and CB asked, “Burberry?” That was my assumption too – either Burberry or Victoria Beckham-copying-Burberry. But it’s neither – the trench is from Japanese label Comme des Garons, by designer Junya Watanabe. Isn’t the trench rather magical and awesome? I like that the “cape” effect is removable too – check out the shoulder buttons. You can totally take that off, and what would you have then? A weirdly sleeveless trench dress? Which is kind of cool.
Victoria was photographed at LAX, heading to London. She was tweeting about her trip too, asking her Twitter followers what the weather was like in London, and what she should wear for the trip. I should follow Posh on Twitter – she’s a devout tweeter, and she puts up interesting photos and stuff. Posh is in London for the launch of the Spice Girls musical, Viva Forever, in London’s West End. Posh will allegedly be joining all of the Spice Girls – Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C, and according to sources, there were some fears that Posh wouldn’t show: “There’s been rumours knocking about that Victoria wasn’t going to show – but she always made it a priority. She was never going to miss the launch and is looking forward to seeing the rest of the girls. The musical is a proud moment for them all. It will be emotional.” Guess who wrote the musical? Absolutely Fabulous’s creator and star Jennifer Saunders. Which… I mean, I would totally want to see that. SWEETIE DARLING LET ME IN SWEETIE DARLING LET ME IN.
