Back in June of this year, rumors about Shakira?s phantom baby bump began to percolate throughout gossip blogs and tabloids in the English and Spanish-speaking entertainment world. Some Spanish-language tabs even claimed outright that Shakira was pregnant with Gerard Pique?s baby. Well? I don?t know if this is the same pregnancy, or if those reports were BS and this is a completely new pregnancy. But whatever it is, Shakira is confirming it now! She?s preggo.
Yes, Shakira is pregnant. The singer, 35, confirmed the news in a post on her website Wednesday, explaining that she needs to cancel a work commitment as a result.
?As some of you may know, [boyfriend] Gerard [Piqu] and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days,? she writes.
?This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival ? I?d like to thank Clear Channel and my fans for their constant love and understanding. Big kiss!?
Shakira and Piqu, 25, central defender for FC Barcelona, confirmed their relationship in March 2011. This will be the first child for both.
On Tuesday, NBC announced that she will temporarily replace Christina Aguilera as a judge on season four of The Voice.

The way she?s talking about canceling stuff and ?as some of you may know? makes me think that?s further along than many people think. Right? Right. Maybe. I also found out that a random Colombian tabloid claims that Shakira and Gerard already know they?re having a boy, and they already have a name picked out: Ulicito! Like, Little Ulysses? The Colombian tabloids also claim Shakira has Toxoplasmosis and that?s why she?s being extra-careful during her pregnancy, and that she?s due in ?early 2013?. Which would make her about five months along now? Perhaps.
As for Shakira?s gig as host/judge on the next season of The Voice? the pregnancy thing makes it more interesting. She might want to do it because she wants to stay in one place once she has the baby. But I can?t see how she would want to be in LA for months at a time when Gerard is based in Europe, correct? So? I tend to think that while Shakira might be saying she’ll do The Voice for a season, she probably won?t do the gig permanently, and even know she might back out.

35-year-old singer Shakira announced today that she is pregnant with her first child. Insert your own “womb don’t lie” joke here. People magazine says:

It’s a big year for Shakira, and not just because she’s pregnant — she’s also replacing Christina Aguilera as a judge on season four of The Voice, because a pregnant Shakira is still hotter than a fat Christina Aguilera any day of the week. When asked for comment, Christina reportedly said, “Ahmmm nom nom nom rrrrghlgh nom nom,” because she was still eating a bear claw and didn’t want to waste valuable chewing time talking.

The year of 2012 has certainly had its fair share of Tinseltown babies, and it looks like the boom isn't slowing down - as pop star Shakira has just announced she?s expecting!
The 35 year-old Colombian songstress took to her website on Wednesday (September 19) to confirm the exciting news, as well as let her fans know she will need to take a career rest for a little while.

Teaming up for some Latin-flavored hip-hop, Pitbull and Shakira shine in the new video for their single ?Get It Started.?
The ?Give Me Everything? rapper features the Columbian songstress on his latest single from his forthcoming album Global Warming.
And Pit brought director David Russo on for the project, having worked with him on several other videos in years past.
This fall, Pitbull will be touring around the world following the conclusion of his US dates later this month.

Hoping to pull in sales from a younger demographic this time around, Shakira is gearing up for the release of her third fragrance, Elixir.
Set to debut at Kohl?s and Sears later this month, the Colombian singer told WWD of her latest scent, ?After my first two fragrances, I wanted to do something different ? I wanted to push the idea even further and develop a fragrance that would express my most sensual and exotic side, and Elixir is the result of that."
"We worked on the concept of a ?second skin,? a fragrance that becomes a part of you,? the 35-year-old continued.
Adding to the "Waka Waka" singer's description, Puig exec, Jose Manuel Albesa, said, ?This scent is aimed at a youthful consumer who wants to explore her power and her mystery."
Meanwhile, Elixir is said to exude "top notes of neroli, white pepper and white flower; a heart of freesia, peony and apricot skin, and a drydown of white cedarwood, amber, benzoin, sugar cane and musk" while packaged in three sizes: 0.5 oz. for $17.50, 1 oz. for $29 and 1.7 oz. for $36.

Getting ready to jet out of La La land, Shakira was spotted catching a flight out of LAX airport in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday (June 9).
The gorgeous Colombian singer-songwriter looked happy as she gave the awaiting photographers a smile while rocking a casual look of jeans, a t-shirt and aviator sunglasses while on her way to the terminal.
In other news, it looks like the 35-year-old's toned airport physique might prove the recent pregnancy rumors wrong. According to a Mexican gossip site, TV Notas, the performer and her soccer star boyfriend Gerard Pique are expecting their first child.
TV Notas also claims that not only is she two months along right now, but the "Hips Don't Lie" songstress and her beau have already bought a home together in Barcelona to settle down with once the little one arrives.
So can we expect a hip shaking baby sometime this year? Looks like only time will tell.

Dodging raindrops, Shakira was spotted out and about in Amsterdam, Netherlands on Wednesday (May 9).
With her hair pulled back in a ponytail, the "Hips Don't Lie" singer made her way out of a building alongside DJ Afrojack and looked comfortable in a black leather jacket, white tee, skinny jeans and accessorized with aviator sunglasses, a shiny right hand ring and an over the shoulder purse.
Shakira's latest hit, "Addicted to You" has been racking up YouTube view since being released earlier this week and the Colombian singer-songwriter took time to show her appreciation tweeting, "Almost 4m views of #AddictedToYou in 3 days! That's amazing. Thanks for the support guys."
Check out the 35-year-old dancing around on a chair and slipping into a sudsy tub in her new video of "Addicted to You", which is the latest single from her album Sale el Sol.

She?s an avid fan of nature, but Shakira came close to a scuffle with a sea lion while on a tour in Cape Town, South Africa over the weekend.
The ?Hips Don?t Lie? hottie tried to snap a photo of a bristly aquatic dweller when he hopped out of the water and started towards her.
Shakira shared, "Suddenly, one of them jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me."
"I was paralyzed by fear and couldn't move, I just kept eye contact with it while my brother 'Super Tony' jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast."
She added, "I believe what happened is that it confused the shiny reflection of the BlackBerry I was taking these pics with, with some sort of fish. It probably thought I was teasing it with food and then taking it away from it."

Receiving quite the prestigious honor, Shakira was feted during a ceremony at Hotel Majestic in Cannes, France on Saturday (January 28).
The Colombian singer was all smiles as French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand pinned a medal unto her while declaring her as a Knight of the order of Arts and Letters.
After receiving the accolade from the French government, Shakira worked her way into the crowd to pose for photos alongside her loving parents, Nidia Ripoll and William Mebarak Chadid.
The 34-year-old received the title thanks largely to her French song "Je l'aime a mourir," while past recipients of the accolade include director Tim Burton, Australian singer Kylie Minogue and actor George Clooney.

She?s always on the go, and earlier today (January 27) Shakira was spotted arriving at the airport in Nice, France.
The ?Hips Don?t Lie? hottie hopped off her plane and smiled for the paparazzi ahead of her appearance at the 2012 NRJ Music Awards.
And it sounds like Shakira will be collaborating on a brand new song with none other than Britney Spears.
According to a report, the two pop music queens will be working with will.i.am and PHarrell Williams on the track. Williams told press, "I have proposed to [Spears's label] Jive Records to bring Shakira into the studio and they thought it was a fabulous idea. I want to make it happen. I want an explosive duet and won't sleep easy until I see it."
