Kristen Stewart is the cover girl for the June issue of American Elle – she was also the cover girl for the June issue of Elle UK too, for what it?s worth. There are two distinctly different photo shoots and interviews, so just pretend for a second that Team K-Stew hasn?t completely taken over Elle and all of the international editions of the publication. The photo shoot seems very Victor/Victoria – Kristen is doing some menswear/drag-king-inspired looks, and then she goes sort of gothy-glam for other shots. I?m reminded of how beautiful she is, and how she has the figure to be an excellent ?clothes hanger? for designers. Unfortunately, Kristen often seems kind of dead-eyed in pictorials, and her posture is still atrocious. As for the new Elle interview, well? God bless the Twihards. They?ve already transcribed the whole thing from the early scans – you can read the full piece here. Here are some highlights? the whole thing takes place in a bookstore (just an FYI for why the conversation is so book-intensive):
She loves William Styron?s Lie Down in Darkness: ?Have you ever read Lie Down in Darkness?? Stewart asks excitedly. ?I want to play Peyton more than anything I can possibly taste or touch in my life. I want to play her so bad. Peyton is bright, beautiful, suicidal narcissist, preyed upon by her father. But Stewart, 22, sees it as more complicated than that. ?Oh, dude, she f–kin? loves it! She?s in love with him. I mean, I think she?s in love with him. It?s not his fault. They?re the most f–ked-up family!? There?s a script adaptation I?ve read and it?s good,? she says, continuing down the aisle. ?Two people vying for the part of the father are Daniel Day-Lewis and Colin Firth. Daniel would be perfect.? Stewart stops suddenly and smiles, picking up an autobiography. ?Let?s not be pretentious ? let?s buy Snooki.? (She doesn?t.)
She calls Robert Pattinson her ?f–king boyfriend?: ?Oooh, Martin Amis.? Stewart plucks Money from the shelf. ?My copy just got soaked ? my toilet overflowed.? And then, ?Oh my God, my f–king boyfriend just did this movie,? she says, referring to Robert Pattinson while pulling down a copy of Bel Ami. ?The French, they?re up in arms that he did it.?
The brown contact lenses she wears to play Bella: ?It?s like I always have sunglasses on ? soulless, googly-eyed sunglasses. You can?t feel your eyeballs. They ruined me.?
Working with William Hurt in 2008?s The Yellow Hankerchief: ?He was the first guy I ever saw take a script and f–king turn it on its head. He threw us all up into the air,? Stewart says fondly. ?It was so cool working with him. He is so beat ? he?s like, On the Road. Incredibly intense. Dude!?
The book Black Hole: ?This f–king store is like kismet!? she says. ?I want to do this movie!? The book, about a sexually transmitted plague, ?is disgusting, so gross,? Stewart enthuses. ?I love the first image? ? she turns to a completely black page with a white vagina-shape opening in the center ? ?a slit. You just grow, like, holes in your body. The imagery is so weird. See? ? she flips to another page ? ?he?s looking at her hand and soon there?s gonna be a little mouth in there. It?s so sexual the desire is so f–king palpable, but it feels so dirty, like [the characters] are so ashamed because they?re diseased, they?re literally getting these holes.?
Riding horses and leading the charge in Snow White and the Huntsman: Despite being terrified of horses, Stewart saddled up to lead an army of 250 mounted men charging down a beach in the rain. ?I hated it,? she admits of riding. ?I didn?t take to the whole mentality of f–king ordering that thing around ? ?Go now!? You have to be an a–hole, basically. Not to say that horse people are a–holes to their horses. But you have to basically tell that thing who?s boss, and I didn?t want to do that. I was like, ?No, do your thing. I don?t even want to be up here.??
Child-acting and home-schooling: One role begot the next, and from seventh grade on Stewart was homeschooled, something she regrets, in a way. ?Because I didn?t go to f–king school, I feel I would have had a bit something extra if I had,? she says. ?Maybe because my life is so perfect, when I see the other side of life, it just seems like, almost like I want?? Stewart struggles for words. ?You can learn so much from bad things. I feel boring. I feel like, Why is everything so easy for me? I can?t wait for something crazy to f–king happen to me. Just life. I want someone to f–k me over! Do you know what I mean?? That which doesn?t kill you makes you stronger? ?Exactly. It?s one of the reasons I want to act. I love living in different worlds, because a lot of times mine is pretty nice and easy.?
She still smokes, and her car is gross: She unlocks a nondescript rental car (she can?t drive her Mini Cooper without being followed by paparazzi), drops the books in back, slides into the driver?s seat, starts the engine and offers up a Camel. Pushing the cigarette-lighter button, she says, laughing, ?I went for the high-class rental. This car?s got all the fixin?s!? Scattered on the passenger side floor are a pair of plaid Van sneakers, an empty protein drink, a Coca-Cola can, and a plastic to-go container with a half eaten sandwich covered in mold. A nearly empty Snapple sits in the cup holder, cigarette buds floating in it.
She wears a mysterious ring: Stewart taps her hands on the steering wheel, her short nails lacquered in bloodred. On her thumb is a silver spoon ring. ?All four of my brothers and my mom and dad have these,? she says. ?My mom went and got them for Christmas.? And the gold ring circling her index finger? ?Everyone wants to know,? Stewart says slyly. She shakes her head. ?Everyone knows already ? it?s ridiculous.? As painful as it is to be so publicly pushed and prodded, how does she square wanting to be projected on a 40-foot screen? ?Laurence Olivier was asked, ?Actors, what?s the impulse? Why?? And he was just like, ?Look at me, look at me, look at me, ?? That was his answer. But at the same time, it?s like, ?Nooo, don?t look at me. Look at some version that I?m going to present to you. Let me control it.?

The cursing is getting kind of ridiculous. She wasn?t always this foul-mouthed, it?s something that?s happened over the past year, where every interview is laden with f-bombs. The article also quotes extensively from people who have worked with Kristen over the years, and an settling theme arises, although I don?t know if that was Elle?s intention. While Kristen?s directors and costars all had nice things to say about her, there seems to be a theme of Kristen not having much respect for the script of whatever film she?s doing. Everyone says that she constantly going off script, constantly changing lines, constantly trying to make the characters sound more ?authentic?. Which? maybe that only bothers me. I understand going off script when it?s something like Twilight, but it really feels like Kristen never bothers to learn her lines for any given film.
As for the mysterious ring thing – I anxiously await the Twihards? explanation. Did her ?f–king boyfriend? Rob give her the gold ring? Is it a promise ring? A wedding ring?!?!

The photo above is of Kristen Stewart arriving in Paris, probably to start promotion on Snow White and the Huntsman. Charlize Theron was coming into Paris in those photos yesterday, which makes me think Paris is going to be ground zero for all things SWATH this week. Maybe there will be a big Paris premiere? Hopefully. At the end of the post, I?m also including photos of Kristen at the Met Gala and just before the Met Gala, in NYC. Kristen?s Met Gala look was one of the most talked-about fashion moments of the night? which I think is kind of undeserved. I didn?t care for her Balenciaga dress that much, but she was far from the worst, I think. Plus, I?m really loving her hair these days. She?s lightened it a bit, and she?s letting her natural curl come out. It looks awesome.
Anyway, getting back to SWATH. MTV has been promoting the crap out of this film, and they?ve gotten a lot of the early exclusives. I enjoyed this interview they had with the cast of SWATH:

Kristen Stewart attended the Met Gala last night. Do you find that shocking? You shouldn?t. Kristen is now the face of Balenciaga, and Nicolas Ghesquiere (I think that?s him) was her date. So? what do I like about this look? Two things. One, I really like her hair. It?s not particularly high-fashion or anything, and yes, it?s not right for the event, but I think her hair looks great here. Great color, great body, and I just love the curl. Two, I like that Kristen is actually trying, experimenting and having fun with fashion. She?s young – she has time to make big fashion mistakes, and I do like her more for trying.
That being said, this look is awful. Everything is just horrible – and it?s not Kristen?s fault. Sort of. I would imagine that as Ghesquiere?s date/muse and the official face of Balenciaga, Kristen would have had her choice, her pick. I don?t believe that Ghesquiere MADE her wear this. But he probably encouraged it, which makes this mostly his fault. As a designer, I feel he should have made a real choice here: color-block or reptile print. NOT BOTH. Put the two together, and you?ve just made a pretty young woman look like a color-blind crackie.
Also terrible: Kristen?s shoes. It looks like she?s wearing her beloved Converse, only in hideous bandage form.

Closing out the week with another promotional appearance, Kristen Stewart took the NBC Studios stage in Burbank on Friday (May 4) to promote her upcoming movie "Snow White and the Huntsman".
The "Twilight" beauty looked stylish in a short sleeve James Dean ?Icon? t-shirt from Dolce & Gabbana teamed with a burnt orange ?Becky? single-button blazer by Rebecca Minkoff, grey J Brand L8001 trousers and leather oxford ?Hannah? by Bloch shoes as she offered up an interview on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".
Along with chatting about her fairy tale film, which hits theaters on June 1st, Miss Stewart was asked if she had and prior experience riding horses.
To this, the 22-year-old replied, "Um, I rode once. I hurt myself though."
Asked by Leno what happened, Kristen explained, "I fell off of it. I broke and dislocated my elbow. I wanted this so much and I did this thing that you ignore those little voices in your head when you're like, 'You don't have to ride a horse dude, what are you thinking?'"

I heard a rumor several months back that Kristen Stewart was going to be on the June cover of Elle, and I really thought it was going to be the American edition – but here she is, covering the UK edition. I don?t know if this means that she?ll be on the American edition too?? She?s got two films coming out in the next few months, so prepare yourselves for a Kristen extravaganza. First, she?s going to be in Cannes to premiere On the Road – and she and Robert Pattinson might even walk the red carpet for each other?s premieres! I doubt that, though. After Cannes, Kristen will be promoting Snow White and the Huntsman, and then On the Road will get it?s wide release. The summer of K-Stew!
Anyway, what are the thoughts on this Elle UK photo shoot? I?m not in love with it. Kristen has turned in some interesting pictorials in the past, but this one? well, it?s not actively bad, in my opinion. I dislike her hair on the cover, and I think they could have posed her a bit better and encouraged her to close her mouth more. I always want to physically straighten her out too – push her shoulders back until she?s standing up straight. Anyway, here are some highlights from the interview:
Kristen on what she loves: ?I f–king love everything about [acting]. I love movies, I love what they do. I am just so fuelled by it like nothing else in my life.?
Robert Pattinson on Kristen?s work ethic: Pattinson seems sweetly in awe of Kristen?s professional drive, saying ?She is very focused on being an actress. I mean, that?s what she is? she?s an actress, whereas I just don?t really know.?
Kristen on Snow White and the Huntsman: ?It?s a war movie and an identity crisis movie. Basically, she goes to jail when she?s seven and gets out when she?s 18. She?s so stunted that she?s essentially a child, even though she?s already a woman. When she comes out she?s got to save people, but she hasn?t experienced anything like they have. She?s very isolated. She has all these feelings and doesn?t really know why yet, and I can relate to that.?
Kristen on being a role model: ?I don?t apply it to the choices I make. I feel like a role model is not necessarily somebody you want to imitate, just someone you admire. I look at characters I play and think, ?F–k, I would like to be like that.? [Like Joan Jett], exactly. It makes sense to me why other don?t just look at that person, they look at me. Anyone who happens to choose to look up to me, it?s like, ?But I?m literally YOU. I?m looking up to the characters you?re admiring me for choosing.??
Fashion choices and bullying: ?It?s weird, at school I was torn apart for not wearing a certain brand of jeans. It nearly killed me. I was so embarrassed and so insecure, but I knew I could never put them on. I would look ridiculous.?
Kristen on her previous comments that ?her teachers failed her?: Her clear eyes roll. ?When I said they literally failed me, I meant that they literally failed me. As in, I got Fs!?
Being criticized, being misrepresented: ?You grow calluses. I don?t say ‘I?m not magnetic’ to try and sound self-deprecating. I?m just not. I?m pretty good at?? Repelling people? ?yeah. Though I actually love people. I would like to meet more people. I know no one.?
Her style: Her natural style is ?not experimental,? she admits, ?I just wear very functional clothes. When I?m in London I feel so dressed down and young and Californian. Even if I try to look nice when I go out for dinner, I just don?t have a thing. I will always wear no socks and be like, ?F–k, it?s freezing, what am I doing??

The ?my teachers failed me? thing was very interesting, because that was a story that angered many people last year. Kristen, in the course of an interview with GQ UK, said, ?School became genuinely uncomfortable? I was feeling a little self-conscious about the acting thing with my peers, but also my teachers became a problem. They didn?t want to do the extra work or put packages together so I could keep up while away?They failed me. My teachers failed me. Not one, but all of them. I?m always slightly ashamed in a way, about what I do. I?m slightly embarrassed as I had such serious ambitions when I was younger, I just never imagined that I would ever have a reason not go to school. But then this happened.? So she wasn?t saying, ?My teachers failed me as a person, because they weren?t good people.? She was failed. They literally flunked her and gave her Fs. That?s interesting!

Kristen Stewart is the best dressed woman in the world! According to Glamour UK at least. Kristen topped a list that included many British fashion-girls, which is kind of impressive – Kristen being an American, after all. I was trying to put myself in that frame of mind – if I was 16 years old again, would I want to dress like Kristen? When I was 14-15, I was all about Winona Ryder, so? yeah. Probably. I?m not saying 1995 Winona = 2012 K-Stew. But there are some correlations. And while I?m still not a fan of Kristen?s ?street style,? her red carpet style continues to improve year after year. She?s young, she?s mixing it up, she?s learning. And she just got a Balenciaga contract too!
Anyway, Glamour?s top five was rounded out by (in order): Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham, the Duchess of Cambridge and Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine). Other Americans on the list included Blake Lively, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba (??), Gaga, Beyonce, Emma Stone, Angelina Jolie (#23) and Jennifer Aniston (#30). It was reported recently that Hollywood stylists are refusing to work with her thanks to her careless off-duty attire and alleged bad attitude. But Kristen Stewart has defied her critics by being crowned the world’s best dressed woman by fashion bible Glamour magazine. The Twilight star, 22, placed ahead of Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and the Duchess of Cambridge as the most stylish of the stars.
While she used to smirk at the thought of couture, Kristen has developed an appreciation for fashion of late, turning up to Paris Fashion Week and dazzling in designs by Balenciaga, Chanel, J Mendel and Roberto Cavalli in the past year. The tomboy actress has also ditched her penchant for wearing trainers on the red carpet, but they remain her day-to-day uniform, paired with jeans and T-shirts.
The magazine praises Kristen for her progression from ‘awkward teen to style queen’ and for always being ‘effortlessly on-trend’. She also topped the best-dressed couple rankings with boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson.
Harry Potter star and Burberry model Emma Watson slipped from top spot in 2011 to second place in Glamour’s top 50. Singer and former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole also dropped from second to eighth in the rankings, but the magazine says the pop star has the ‘fashion factor nailed’. Spice Girl turned fashion designer Beckham has shot-up 12 places to third, with the magazine praising the ‘adorable co-ordinating looks’ she shares with ‘her new favourite accessory’ – baby daughter Harper.
This year’s top 10 is completed by flame-haired singer Florence Welch, My Week With Marilyn star Michelle Williams, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, US socialite reality TV star Olivia Palermo, and Rihanna. The top 20 includes supermodel Kate Moss, X Factor judge Kelly Rowland, actress Keira Knightley and Dannii Minogue. Sister Kylie is at 45. Rising style-setter Rosie Huntington-Whiteley placed at number 17, followed by Fearne Cotton and Jennifer Lopez, with Mila Kunis rounding out the top 20.

Who do I think deserves top honors? Eh. Call me a curmudgeon, but nearly every celebrity woman has had some major style blunders lately. It?s not like a decade ago, when Nicole Kidman was so obviously the style leader of the world and you couldn?t wait to see what she would wear next. Charlize Theron is a bit like that, but I feel like she?s been slacking sartorially lately too. You know who I?ve been enjoying so much over the past year? Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She might not be the best actress (ha), but that girl can DRESS. She wears a lot of Burberry, naturally.

Many people are anticipating the summer release of "Snow White and the Huntsman," and now a new behind-the-scenes feature is giving fans a deeper look into the dark fairytale story.
The new video, courtesy of Celebuzz, focuses on the flick's Mirror Man (Christopher Obi) who, according to director Rupert Sanders, has a very important relationship with Queen Ravenna (played by Charlize Theron) in the film.
The film also stars Kristen Stewart as the only person in the land fairer than the 36-year-old's evil queen, hence her life is threatened by a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) who actually ends up helping her.
The film hits theaters on June 1st, and also stars Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Lily Cole, and Nick Frost.

Here’s Kristen Stewart embracing her white trash style at the second weekend of Coachella with a trucker hat, daisy dukes and a shirt that read “White Trash.” She hit up the festival with Robert Pattinson where they were seen at the Radiohead concert (naturally) “kissing and holding hands, swaying and singing along to parts [of the songs.]” Basically doing whatever it is you’d imagine hipsters do. Kristen probably went on Tumblr later and claimed to like Radiohead back when they were called On a Friday.
