I tried to give Kristen Stewart the benefit of the doubt the other day when she talked about ?product-oriented? actors who? I guess, in Kristen?s mind, only do films that they believe will be huge hits. It was awkwardly worded, which is synonymous with ?a Kristen Stewart interview,? but I tried not to overthink it. My interpretation was that Kristen wants to do small, important work that is artsy and she doesn?t want to choose overwhelmingly ?commercial? projects. To which I say? Snow White and the Huntsman. Not to mention Twilight.
Anyway, Kristen has a new interview with Reuters where she returns to this sort of? lacking in self-awareness, I guess. Is it that she?s lacking self-awareness, or is it that she?s SO self-aware that it borders on the comical? Some highlighted quotes:
Why she did “Clouds of Sils Maria”: ?It happened to be the perfect project, timing-wise. Just my experience with my career, how it’s gone – you know, “Twilight” blew up – I’m extremely famous. It’s interesting for me to play an actress’ assistant who then comments on that world and how it works and how superficial it can be.?
Whether there?s more ?freedom? in European films: ?It’s not absent in the States, but it’s not prevalent to feel free within the film industry, to feel like you can say what you want to say, not with any concern about how people are going to react to it, whether you’re going to piss them off. So here, it seems like people are less afraid because again they’re doing it for themselves. It’s for the art of it. It’s not to market things. It’s just, it’s a good feeling. You know, to make a movie is so ridiculous. We’re going to go film each other pretending to be other people so other people can watch us pretending to be other people? It’s insane. But if it’s worth it and it’s saying something … it can be transcendentally important.?
Self-awareness: ?I don’t do what I do to … control perception or make people think a certain way about me. That would be traipsing all over the experience of making any film. It’s just so ass-backwards to me. I don’t know how people do that. I don’t know how people tactfully traverse their careers. I don’t know how they choose, ‘Well, this is a different side of me people have not seen and so I will present that to them now.’ It’s like, ‘Why are you doing this for other people? You should be doing it for yourself.’ And so I’ve functioned from that position since I started, and therefore I really don’t care about all that.?
[From Reuters]
She Who Lip-Bites just gave me a headache. It?s like she?s a walking computer thesaurus, unable to comprehend that even though some words are synonymous, they are not interchangeable. In other words, she acts like a kid who uses Word of the Day toilet paper. ?It’s not prevalent to feel free within the film industry???? ?It can be transcendentally important??? Anyway, same BS, different day. Kristen looks down her nose at actors who try to plan out their careers and consciously split their time between smaller passion projects and big-budget popcorn films. She thinks they are ass-backwards. She doesn?t care about them at all!!
My thing about Kristen is? I don?t mind when she plays the game. I don?t mind when she goes to fashion shows and takes modeling contracts and signs on to bigger-budget films. I don?t mind when she conveniently gets pap?d wearing Chanel clothing just days after her new Chanel modeling contract becomes public. But I do mind if she does all that and then acts like she?s ABOVE the game, that she would never play the game and that people who play the game are all unartistic a?holes. Own your sh-t, Kristen.

Here are some new photos of Kristen Stewart arriving at LAX (the pics where she?s carrying the Chanel bag, naturally because that?s why she gets paid by Karl Lagerfeld) and then out and about in Santa Monica with a friend. The friend is Alicia Cargile, who has been close to Kristen for years. A month ago, Star Mag even ran a story about how Kristen and Alicia are quietly dating nowadays, that their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship following Kristen?s split with Sparkles. I don?t know the real story ? if they?re just friends, good for them. If they?re romantically involved, good for them.
Meanwhile, Kristen got some of the best reviews of her life with Clouds of Sils Maria, the film which debuted at Cannes and stars Kristen, Juliette Binoche and Chloe Moretz. Kristen didn?t have time to do wall-to-wall press, but she did sit down for a handful of interviews, including this decent piece with the Wall Street Journal. You can read the full piece here, and here are some highlights:
Why she signed on to Clouds of Sils Maria (where she plays an actress?s PA): ?The reason this movie was made was not to make a statement about how superficial media can be, but it was a lot of fun for me to be the one to say it. Obviously, I?ve had more experience with the media, so it makes it funnier.?
Playing a PA: ?I don?t a have a personal assistant right now, but I have had one in the past and I definitely understand the dynamic. The difference is that I never had such a co-dependent relationship.?
Kristen ?coached? Juliette Binoche: ?When we were getting out the car to walk up the red carpet, Juliette just like opened the door and started to get out. I said, ?what are you doing? A star would never do that!??
How she views her career: ?When I take on a role, I really like to think, and I do not care what people think about them afterwards. I really want the experience. I think a lot of actors?not good ones?are just product oriented, as is the business. American movies are so packaged and delivered. They think for you. Like the stories in the tabloids?they?re so easily consumable. But that said, I love big American movies?they?re my foundation, what I grew up on?and I still want to do them.?
Getting to work after Mini-Cooper-Gate: ?I didn?t make a movie for a really long time because I didn?t get offered anything that I liked. I didn?t work for two years.?
[From the Wall Street Journal]
I half-believe her. I believe that she wasn?t offered many good scripts and that?s partly why she wasn?t working following her affair with Rupert Sanders. But I also believe that Hollywood wasn?t sure what to do with her following the affair, and some people (like, say, Ben Affleck) didn?t want to work with an actress who was considered ?radioactive? in the tabloids. As for Kristen ?coaching? Binoche? I?m sure that was super-special. Binoche could eat K-Stew for breakfast.
Kristen also talks about how she wants ?to start directing? in the WSJ piece, which is good timing because she directed the music video for Sage + the Saints? ?Take Me to the South?. The lead singer looks so much like Kristen. This video has too many jumpy edits.

Here is Kristen Stewart attending The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute benefit gala celebrating “Charles James: Beyond Fashion”.
She sported her signature glum expression, that didn’t stop the outfit from dazzling us. Featuring a multi-colour short skirt with a long sheer layer over top, a golden cinched-in waist and a vibrant Pink top, the elaborate dress fit the actress’ eclectic style perfectly. Bright orange hair swept to the side and black pumps complemented the shimmering dress.

| Kristen Stewart in Chanel couture at the 2014 Met Gala: great or too gimmicky? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?m not sure that the House of Chanel really had the best night at last night?s Met Gala. Their standard-bearer was? Kristen Stewart. K-Stew wore Chanel Couture (as opposed to that dreadful Dallas collection which she now represents in an ad campaign). Thoughts? Let?s go head to toe. First, I don?t blame her for having bad hair. Her hair is dyed that stupid Manic Panic shade because she?s working on a film in NOLA. The hair couldn?t be helped, and she did the best (?the best?) she could with it.
As for the dress? there?s just too much going on. Too many tricks, too many gimmicks. I tried looking at the dress in just waist-up photos, and I actually kind of liked it. So, I basically want to rejigger this dress into something cleaner and less feathery. I also want to teach Kristen how to pose on a red carpet without making tight fists as a way to self-comfort. PS? I love the shoes.
Lily Allen wore Chanel Couture as well. God, this is so ugly and ancient. It makes Lily look like she?s 50 years old. The hair isn?t helping.
Anna Wintour wore Chanel as well. Wintour kept playing fast and loose with the theme, and many people believed the theme was strictly black-and-white. And then Anna showed up in this colorful frock. I don?t even like it.

| Kristen Stewart shows off a new look on 'American Ultra' set: '90s grunge/stoner' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I?m going to date myself so much in this post, but that?s the way it goes. I came of age in the era of grunge. I think I was 13 or 14 when I first heard Pearl Jam and Nirvana. And at that time, I was friends with all of the flannel-wearing, Patchouli-smelling, Manic-Panic-hair-dyeing grunge kids. And right now, Kristen Stewart looks exactly like all of my friends at that time.
These are pics of Kristen on the NOLA set of American Ultra, the action/comedy she?s doing with Jesse Eisenberg. Is this film set in 1993? Because this entire outfit/vibe looks like 1993 to me. We actually had a preview of Kristen?s hair change a few weeks ago ? back then, it looked like she dyed her hair a light orange, but I guess the orange was just a base for the Manic Panic look. God, this makes me nostalgic. I want to get high for the first time and listen to The Cure. The only difference is that in 1993/94, we were all wearing Doc Martens, not Timberlands.
A bunch of late editions have joined the cast of this film too ? in addition to Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen will be joined with Topher Grace, Sharon Stone, Tony Hale, Bill Pullman and John Leguizamo. The basic plot: ?Eisenberg is a small-town stoner who doesn?t realize he?s a highly trained killer. Stewart plays his girlfriend.? She looks the part. But I still want to know if this is set in the early ?90s.
PS? Sources say Kristen is sad that Sparkles went to Coachella without her. But I think she?s probably just happy to be working ? she?s been doing back-to-back projects for months after not working for like two years.
PPS? Yes, she?s still smoking. I think she quit on-and-off when she was with Sparkles, but she?s been a steady smoker for more than a year, I believe.

| Kristen Stewart's Chanel Paris-Dallas ads revealed: interesting or awful' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Back in December, Kristen Stewart was named as the new ?face? of Chanel?s Paris-Dallas Collection. She actually went to Dallas for the announcement, and she got to hang out with Karl Lagerfeld (again). Following that, Kristen took some friends to Paris for a few days while she (presumably) shot the campaign and did some shopping ? she was spotted around Paris carrying a $3400 Chanel bag, so it was totally a business trip for her.
Anyway, these are some of the first images from the campaign. Thoughts? First of all, these aren?t the official leaks from the campaign, at least I don?t think so. They come via Instagram, and I would imagine they are photos of the print ad campaign, just because the images don?t seem to be the best quality. Or maybe this is how the ads really look ? sort of blurry and gritty.
Regarding the clothes? very fringy, very ?Southwest?. Personally, I don?t care for that look ? I?ve never been into ?cowboy chic? or whatever and I don?t think I?ve ever owned anything with a fringe. But if you like that look, I would imagine that this is probably okay, or even wonderful. I do kind of love those black and white cowboy boots in the one shot. As for how Kristen looks? it?s not bad. I actually think she looks much better in these shots than she ever did for her Balenciaga campaigns.

| Kristen Stewart is not pregnant, she gained weight on purpose for her new film | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some assorted photos of Kristen Stewart out and about in YC last week, and filming in Lido Beach last Friday. She?s still filming Still Alice, where she has a supporting part as Julianne Moore and Alec Baldwin?s daughter. As I?ve said, I wouldn?t have really chosen Kristen to play Julianne?s daughter (Emma Stone would have been a better fit), but in these photos, I can see some sort of resemblance. Maybe it will work.
The last time we discussed Kristen, the tabloids claimed she was being ?snippy? and unpleasant on the set of this film because she was on some kind of extreme juice diet/detox. But some people have pointed out that Kristen actually looks like she?s gained a little weight recently. Nothing significant or anything ? Kristen is now and has always been a small young woman. But her skinny jeans just look a little extra snug. Twihards even theorized that Robert Pattinson has secretly impregnated her, because OF COURSE. Robsten Forever! Well, Hollywood Life (Twihard Central) says that Kristen was trying to gain weight for her character:
Kristen Stewart, 23, wasn?t told by her director to gain weight for her new movie Still Alice ? it was actually the actress herself who decided that putting on some extra weight would ?add to her character? and make her appear more youthful, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. In the movie Still Alice, Kristen plays the part of Julianne Moore?s teenage daughter, who bonds with her mother after she is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer?s disease.
?It was actually Kristen?s decision to gain weight for her role in Still Alice. She thought it would add to her character, who is the youngest of three. She plays a teenager and teenagers can be a little heavier while going through puberty. She thought the extra weight would make her look a little younger,? a friend of Kristen?s tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
We spoke with celebrity dietician Lisa DeFazio, who applauded the Camp X-Ray star for her weight gain, saying she ?looks healthy, happy and has some curves.?
?She gained weight in a healthy way, working with a dietician, and she?s not upset at all about it ? it was her decision,? the friend explains.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Kristen?s weight gain sparked rumors that the actress was pregnant with Robert Pattinson?s baby.
?Kristen is absolutely not pregnant. She has put on a few extra pounds for a movie role and that?s it,? an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. ?She?s already so thin so a few more pounds makes a noticeable difference, she?s still thin.?
[From Hollywood Life]
Oh, that actually makes sense. And Kristen is right, a little extra weight does make her look younger ? she looks very apple-cheeked and yes, like a teenager. This also explains why People Magazine detailed all of the food and beverages Kristen consumed while recently out to dinner:
For Kristen Stewart, there?s nothing like a peppery cocktail or two to chase down dinner. On Thursday night, the actress ? dressed casually in jeans and a tee ? was spotted at Beauty & Essex, a popular restaurant on New York City?s Lower East Side. She ordered up house favorites like the grilled cheese, smoked bacon and tomato soup dumplings, made with five different cheeses ?for maximum melty cheese goodness,? chef Chris Santos told PEOPLE.
But the Twilight star didn?t eat alone.
?It appeared to be a family night out as Kristen came in with her dad and another woman,? said a source. ?She was very laid back and was especially nice and polite to their server.?
After a round of the dining spot?s signature cocktail, the Masterly Touch (made with vodka, lemon-thyme nectar and Campari pearls), the actress requested a different libation that packed some heat. So Beauty & Essex?s mixologist created a custom drink for her, made with vodka, muddled cucumber, jalapeos, lime, simple syrup and a splash of Grand Marnier.
?It was a hit with Stewart and she drank a few of them,? the source added.
[From People]
I?m not a cheese person (sacrilegious, I know), so the description of the grilled cheese stuff did nothing for me. But the description of the cocktails? Intriguing. I don?t think I?ve ever had a cocktail with ?spice? or any kind of peppery kick. I would probably need a chaser of something plain to dull the heat though. Anyway, that?s what?s going on with K-Stew. She?s not knocked up, she?s drinking alcoholic beverages and she gained weight on purpose to look younger.

| Kristen Stewart is possibly in talks for a very lucrative contract with Nike | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This ^^ is a photo of Kristen Stewart on the set of Still Alice in NYC. No joke. That?s Kristen. She?s been hiding behind umbrellas almost exclusively since she arrived in NYC. I don?t get why it would be that big of a deal to get pap?d on set in New York, especially considering she pretty much poses for candid photos when she?s in LA. Anyway, the important thing ? I guess? ? is that we always get a clear view of Kristen?s shoes. Kristen is known for hating heels and for constantly wearing her beloved Chucks, Vans, or whatever else the hipsters are wearing. But wearing hipster labels almost exclusively doesn?t pay as well as you?d think, so Kristen is apparently looking to take her sneaker game to the next level: a Nike endorsement! Well, this is according to Radar, who claims that Nike wants Kristen.
Nike bigwigs are pulling out all stops to persuade Kristen Stewart ? a huge fan of the shoemaker ? to sign a celebrity endorsement deal, RadarOnline.com has been told.
?It?s no secret how much Kristen loves Nikes,? a source dished. ?She often changes into a pair of Nikes after walking the red carpet in heels.?
But Nike is facing an uphill battle as the Twilight star, 23, who is notoriously private, shudders at the thought of having her face on advertisements!
?It?s not the easiest deal to make, as Kristen has shunned dozens of offers to endorse products since her rise to fame in the Twilight films. Also, Kristen already makes a ton of money because she gets a little piece of the Twilight merchandise. She?s terribly self-conscious about seeing her face on products.?
In the past, Nike has had success with such celebrity endorsers as Michael Jordan and Lance Armstrong before the brand cut ties with the cyclist after his doping scandal.
?But the company obviously wants to broaden its base from athletes to actors, and, in particular, appeal to young women,? the source said. ?Nike execs believe that with her tomboy cool image, Kristen would be the perfect celebrity spokeswoman to create some new excitement about the brand.?
However, if Stewart does decide to get past her hatred of fame and sign on, it will cost Nike big time, the source predicted.
They said: ?Nike will have to roll out some serious money if they?re going to be able to close a deal with her.?
[From Radar]
It wouldn?t surprise me at all if Kristen had gotten some offers to be the face of various shoe brands, but I just don?t believe that Nike is SO hard up for Kristen to represent their company. Especially given the fact that Kristen is the one who seems a bit desperate to sell out these days ? her recent interviews on behalf of her Balenciaga fragrance endorsement have read like pleas for cosmetics and beauty companies to consider her for their campaigns. She was even shilling for Proactiv (without getting paid). I believe Kristen is looking to feather her nest and organize some partnerships with some bigger companies, or in hipster terms, she?s looking to sell out. Maybe this is her trying to get a big sneaker company to bite. Maybe it would help if she was actually photographed wearing Nikes in some pap photos?? Because she?s only been wearing Chucks and Vans lately. Oh, and Chanel. I forgot that, she?s also the new face of Chanel?s Dallas line or whatever. Yep ? she wants a big shoe contract!

| Kristen Stewart: 'I stand by every mistake I?ve ever made, so judge away' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
As I previewed yesterday, Kristen Stewart covers the March issue of Marie Claire, and it?s a doozy of a cover interview. Kristen has been much more press-friendly as of late, giving longer interviews on behalf of her Balenciaga contract and seeming more? loose, I guess. Not so grumpy, more willing to play. Anyway, yesterday I just had some early highlights from the interview, but now Marie Claire has released the whole piece online ? you can read it here. She smokes Camel filters. She fidgets constantly. She curses a lot and talks like a Valley Girl. She also gave Marie Claire one of her poems. For real! You can read it here. Some additional highlights:
On making choices based on what frightens her: ?Dude, I have no idea what I?m doing, and that?s kind of how I love it. I had no idea Twilight was going to be huge. Certain movies I?ve done I thought were going to be amazing did nothing. So it?s fun not having so much control. It?s kind of a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants lifestyle ? it?s fun, but it?s scary as f–k. If it?s not scary, it?s usually ? you kind of have to step back and go, ?You?re probably making this decision because it?s right on paper.? But unless you get that irking fear, it?s not right.?
On being thrown into the unknown: ?I really like being thrown into the unknown and then finding my way. I don?t want to show someone something. I want people to watch me find something.?
On her M.O: ?I?m kind of, like, an extremist. I really don?t want to be working unless I?m bleeding it. And if I?m not working, then don?t ever try to make a plan with me.?
On being judged as a peril of fame: ?I stand by every mistake I?ve ever made, so judge away.?
On Drugs: “I’m such a control freak. I’m glad I grew up in this era because I think if I grew up in my parents’ age of drugs and discovery and crazy sh-t, I don’t think I would do drugs well.”
The Snow White sequel: While a Snow White & the Huntsman sequel is far-off, “it’s not where I thrive,” she says. “I really like being thrown into the unknown and then finding my way. I don’t want to show someone something. I want people to watch me find something.”
On doing press to promote her latest projects: ?I have an embarrassing inability, seriously, of summoning fake energy?I?m just not very good on TV, and it?s not my main goal in life to get good at it. People are like, ?She just can?t handle? ? for lack of a better word ? ?the spotlight?. No, actually, I can?t, and that is totally who I am. I love being an actor, but I?m the last person to want to have a birthday party. I don?t try to force it or turn it into something else or fabricate this personality?so I totally agree when people say I?m, like, the most awkward person. If you’re operating from a genuine place, then you can’t really regret anything.?
On her poetry: ?I don?t want to sound so f–king utterly pretentious?but after I write something, I go, ?Holy f–k, that?s crazy.? It?s the same thing with acting: If I do a good scene, I?m always like, ?Whoa, that?s really dope.??
She?s a reader but she wishes she had a college education: “The biggest struggle I’ve ever had has been about not going to school and working instead. I was worried about turning down specific individual experiences. Like each movie was, ‘F–k, I have to do that movie.’ I just did a movie with Tim Blake Nelson [Anesthesia, which recently wrapped], and he is brilliant. If I were as smart as he is, I could have the most killer conversation with anyone because I know I have it in me. I just don’t have the tools necessarily as well-developed as he does. I play this character who is getting her master’s degree in philosophy at Columbia, and I think I’m smart, but I’m definitely not book smart in that way.”
[From Marie Claire]
Eh. What do you want me to say? I can?t really bash the girl for this interview. Does she sound like a pretentious hipster at times? For sure. But that?s her age and her self-aware, self-acknowledged awkwardness. And quite honestly, I?d rather read an enjoyable interview with her where she?s reading poetry to the Marie Claire journalist and answering every question directly than, say, someone who just sits there muttering incoherently. Compared to someone like Shia Labeouf, Kristen comes across as interesting and cool.
