I?ve been seeing a lot of, like, feminist critiques of the Miley Cyrus situation, which I don?t really understand. It was the same with Kristen Stewart when she cheated on Robert Pattinson people really made the stretch to make it sound like K-Stew?s infidelity was some kind of overarching feminist act (when it was really an act of self-sabatoge). I acknowledge that one can be a feminist and a terrible wife/girlfriend/partner, but the way I look at the Miley stuff is so far from ?well obvs this needs to be seen through the most feminist lens ever!? Imagine if Liam Hemsworth had his rep announce the split and then within 24 hours, he was kissing another woman on vacation, and the other woman happened to be someone he?d known for a long time and likely been having an affair with. Miley would have gotten so much sympathy. And when she did that to Liam, of course he?s the one getting sympathy. It?s not really about feminism, it?s about who ?wins? the optics of the breakup. And Miley ain?t winning it.
I feel like Miley knows she?s not winning it too. That?s why she?s been running to TMZ and People to tell her side of the story. Again, people would have been more sympathetic to her side if she wasn?t making out with her jumpoff, Kaitlynn Carter, two seconds after everybody learned about the split. Maybe Miley is trying to come at it from another angle though: she stepped out this weekend with mom AND her jumpoff. Oh, Kaitlynn.
Saturday turned into a girls? day out for Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter. The duo, who recently packed on the PDA in Italy, were joined by the singer?s mom, Tish Cyrus, as they grabbed lunch in Los Angeles.
Dressed in a white T-shirt with a printed skirt and white sneakers, Carter, 30, was photographed near Tish, 52, who paired her jeans with a gray top. Miley, 26, was also spotted in the passenger seat of her mom?s SUV in separate images. The outing comes a week after Cyrus announced her separation from husband Liam Hemsworth. Carter also recently split from ?The Hills: New Beginnings? star Brody Jenner.

Kaitlynn is the one in Pink pants in these photos. I?ve always sort of liked Tish Cyrus she?s not a perfect mom, but she?s messy in an authentic way, and my guess is that she?s a bit worried about how Miley looks, PR-wise. So Tish is giving her stamp of approval on the jumpoff publicly. It is what it is. I desperately want to know when is the Miss Manners-appropriate amount of time to wait to introduce your mom to your side chick-turned-official though. Is it a week? Or should you wait longer?

Kristen Stewart has long been a brand ambassador for Chanel and they dress her for so many events. She was one of the few women wearing pants on the red carpet last night. I would call this look 90s camp goth and because Im a 90s girl I really like it. Kaiser does too. This is a fancy sequin version of those too-long too-loose skater and she paired them with platform sneakers, platform mary janes (I think theyre mary janes they could just be sneakers), a ton of chains and jewelry and pink-tipped hair. This is fun and its campy. Its just camp from a more recent era than some of the other looks.
Lily Rose Depp also represents Chanel. She was in a formfitting black gown with chain embellishments. She carried a metallic purse but this is crying out for tackier medallion jewelry or a giant ugly purse. Ooh could you imagine if someone did a homage to Cher from Clueless? This is lacking.

We learned last week that Kristen Stewart suddenly has a new girlfriend. All year, K-Stew had been with Stella Maxwell and they?d been pretty low-key about it. But after Kristen was seen all over LA with Sara Dinkin just before Christmas, suddenly ?sources? had the details on her split with Stella:
It?s officially over for Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell. The twosome called it quits ?around a month ago,? a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.
?They stopped seeing eye to eye and were living very different lives,? the source explains, noting that long distance ?didn?t help? their relationship. According to the insider, however, Stewart, 28, and Maxwell, also 28, ?had issues? before the Twilight alum left to film the Charlie?s Angels reboot in Germany. The source adds: ?Stella and Kristen still share a ton of friends and are friendly with each other.? The pair were last seen together in October at an airport in Amsterdam.

So the timeline is that Kristen was in Germany, filming the Charlie?s Angels reboot throughout much of the fall, and that the distance was a huge factor in her breakup with Stella, which probably happened in November. And then, in true K-Stew fashion, she moved on rather spectacularly and she?s doing the big New Girlfriend Rollout. These photos of Kristen and Sara Dinkin are from Christmas Eve they were seen in Los Feliz with Kristen?s hairdresser-friend CJ Romero. But Kristen definitely wants us to know that she and Sara are dating. I feel a little bit sorry for Stella, right? It?s like ?merry Christmas, your ex is dating someone new and she REALLY wants people to know about it.?

Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart at the TIFF premiere of Jeremiah Terminator LeRoy this weekend. Kristen is such a regular at these film festivals, although I more closely associate her with Cannes. She knows how to do the whole thing though she knows how to make a film festival fashion statement, she knows how to shill and quickly promote her movie, and then she gets the hell out of Dodge. She?s no longer the awkward lip-biter who eye-rolls her way through a promo tour she?s a seasoned professional now, and she acts like it. Good for her.
I sort of loved her slouchy Chanel dress at the premiere? It looks amazing in general, and on her specifically, it?s a great fit. It?s basically a slouchy sweater dress with extra sparkle. I would wear the sh-t out of it, and I don?t think I?ve ever said that about a Chanel look.
The film is a true story, and it?s a bio-pic of sorts. It?s the true story of Laura Albert, who wrote several successful books under the name JT LeRoy. Albert is played by Laura Dern. Albert ropes her sister-in-law Savannah Knoop (played by Kristen Stewart) to play the ?fictional persona? of JT LeRoy in interviews and appearances. Shenanigans ensue. The film isn?t getting great reviews, but critics say that both Dern and Stewart are good in a mediocre film.
Meanwhile, Kristen was asked about the Charlie?s Angels reboot, which she?s already signed onto. She told Variety that this version is ?kind of like a ?woke? version? there?s a kitsch nature to the last ones that was super fun. But nowadays, if you see a woman in combat, everything should be completely and utterly within their ability.? Kristen also says that there will be more than three Angels and there?s a ?whole network of angels.? Say what you will about the Drew Barrymore Angels movies, but the stunts were good for the time. They didn?t treat the Angels like delicate flowers who were incapable of combat. So I don?t really know what Kristen is talking about here?

I feel like most gossip-driven people have been more focused on royal drama this week, so the Cannes Film Festival was somewhat ignored, or at least Cannes didn?t get the kind of attention it normally does. Frankly, Cannes was boring this year before the royal drama really reached its crescendo this week anyway. But the fashion girls are still there, and some of them even came out for the annual Cannes amfAR benefit. Kristen Stewart is on the Cannes jury, but she?s also been doing fashion-y events throughout the festival, almost always clad in Chanel. The amfAR gala was no different, although I don?t think Chanel gave K-Stew the best dress. And who did her makeup?? My goodness.
Here?s Nicole Scherzinger in Georges Hobeika Spring 2018. Honestly, she looks beautiful. Of course she looks a bit plastic too, but beautiful nonetheless.
Here?s Paris Hilton with her fiance, WhatsHisGuts (I don?t care!). Honestly, if Paris?s dress had been full lined, it would have been my favorite dress of the amfAR carpet. As it is though, it?s just kind of tacky.
Here?s Heidi Klum and her boyfriend Tom Kaulitz. They?ve been dating for a few months. He?s German and 28 years old. She?s German and 44 years old. Mazel.
Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith. Lovely couple.
Toni Garrn looked very pretty in a very bad dress.
Cannes bonus: while everyone was at the amfAR gala, Cate Blanchett wore this Givenchy ensemble to a Cannes premiere. It?s very? sculptural. Those pants!! If she just wore the pants with a chintzy blouse, those would be Golden Girls pants.

The evolution of Kristen Stewart is a fascinating thing to me. In many ways, her evolution can be seen through the simple lens of ?a tomboy girl who was treated like the new movie star princess, and then she grew up and found her real identity.? But those of us who paid attention to K-Stew in the beginning know that her evolution was a lot messier than that. What I like about Kristen now is that she is unbroken – she owns her messy past, she acknowledges it and she?s learned from it and she?s come out of those rough years with more confidence and ?tude.
The evolution of Kristen?s style is another thing altogether. I?m grateful she doesn?t wear princess dresses any longer, but she?s still a work in progress as a fashionista, to be honest. These are photos of Kristen at the premiere event for her short film, Come Swim, last night in LA. She wore a Murmur lace crop top that looks like it came out of the Friends wardrobe trailer in 1995. Her pants are from Zuhair Murad?s pre-fall 2017 collection. I don?t know how I feel about those pants, honestly. I do feel strongly that her hair could be and should be much better than this “high fashion” two-tone mullet. MULLETS ARE NEVER THE ANSWER.

Some days, I?m just so happy that Kristen Stewart exists, you know? These are some photos from yesterday?s Elle Women In Hollywood event, and K-Stew killed it with her crazy style. Kristen was by far the most colorful and avant-garde-looking woman at the event. She wore this Antonio Berardi suit with an exposed bra and sheer shoulders. This suit makes zero sense. It?s not even cute, really. And yet Kristen looks really great. She?s reaching some kind of strange Blanchett-esque quality for me: she?s able to elevate bad looks and make them palatable through sheer force of will.
At the WIH event, Kristen talked about Harvey Weinstein without mentioning his name. She said, in part:
“I just want to express how thankful I am to hear what is typically a sort of like murmured pseudo-conversation because we’ve all been talking about this forever?not to make it specific, but it is, about this motherf–ker. It’s just like one of those conversations we’ve all had a million times be so loud amongst people who really care about that. If I had someone close to me feel like they couldn’t be helped or were subject to that type of manipulation or torment or fear of any kind really, especially in regards to being in our realm, where we work, where we have taken very apparent strides towards something not quite equal, but somewhere hopeful for sure, I would feel sick, and do, because I know a lot of these women.?
“So kudos to those who felt hopeful enough, and comfortable enough to be caught and received and heard by those around them, that made it okay to allow themselves to feel better. Because you need to allow yourself to feel better when you feel that bad. And it takes help and we can all be proud of that notion and perpetuate it by saying that we have got you, affirmatively? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve saved makeup artists?because it trickles down to makeup artists, camera assistants?from DPs who are like, ‘Hey babe,’ you know like, it happens on lesser scales, too. And, um, when I say like ‘saved’ I mean momentarily been like, “Hey, don’t, f–ker.” And then they’re embarrassed for one second but then it just keeps going every single day. So, I would say let’s be aware of this on every level. I can tell you that those girls are as duct-taped as one could possibly be, because they’re in fear of getting their next job.”

This is an excellent point she?s making, that sexual harassment happens on such a wide scale with actresses, but it?s also happening to women on the ?lower levels? of film production, to the assistants, makeup artists, etc. Kudos to K-Stew.

Tessa Thompson is my pick for worst-dressed at this event. She also wore Calvin Klein and I HATE this. It pains me to say that, but my God.
Jessica Chastain in a vinyl skirt?? Crazy world. This is Calvin Klein as well and it?s okay. Frankly, the skirt is too shiny.
Nina Dobrev in Prabal Gurung Resort 2018. The dress is fine, although it seemed out of place at this event. My problem is with her bangs though. Just say no to bangs, people.

Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell in France yesterday. Months ago, I said this relationship wouldn?t last. Considering Kristen?s melodramatic love life in 2016, I really thought that was a safe bet. She went from Alicia Cargile to Soko, then back to Alicia, then St. Vincent and then, towards the end of 2016, Stella Maxwell entered the picture. I thought Stella was the Winter Girlfriend, possibly the Winter-to-Spring Girlfriend. I thought Kristen would have someone new by the summer. But look! They?re still together.
Interestingly enough, there were photos of Kristen leaving Alicia Cargile?s house last week. I glanced at those pics and thought ?I KNEW IT!!? Alicia is the in-between girlfriend, the one Kristen ?returns? to in-between flings. But no, according to Gossip Cop.
A new tabloid report wrongly speculates that Kristen Stewart is cheating on Stella Maxwell with ex-girlfriend Alicia Cargile. Gossip Cop, however, looked into the story, and we can exclusively reveal the truth.
Earlier this month, the actress was spotted leaving her ex?s home in Los Angeles, prompting Star to assume the pair must be hooking up again. ?Stella is going to be devastated,? a so-called ?friend? of the Victoria?s Secret model tells the magazine. ?She always suspected Kristen still had feelings for Alicia. She?s the one Kristen calls when she has a problem, and this just confirms her fears.?
But despite the magazine jumping to conclusions simply because the friendly exes recently spent time together, Gossip Cop is assured by a trustworthy source close to the situation that there?s nothing romantic happening between Stewart and Cargile. We?re told the former couple has remained on good terms, and Maxwell has absolutely no issues with their friendship. In fact, several days after Stewart was seen at Cargile?s house, the actress and her girlfriend were spotted enjoying each other?s company out on the town in Paris. This is simply a non-issue.

For the most part, Kristen Stewart has avoided defining her sexuality. I take her actions and relationships at face value, which is what she has recommended doing when she said ?Google me, I?m not hiding.? She?s had relationships with men (Sparkles!) and over the past four years, she?s had a string of relationships with women. She?s never really ?come out? or done an interview specifically where she?s explained her views on her bisexuality/sexuality? nor does she need to. The ?google me, I?m not hiding? covered all of that rather brilliantly. That being said, she half-joked about her sexuality in her SNL monologue a few weeks back when she called herself ?so gay.? But according to Kristen, in a new Guardian interview, she defines her sexuality in more nebulous terms. Some highlights from The Guardian piece:
She?s just playing herself in every movie: ?I can be nothing other than myself. I know actors who say: ?Oh, this role had nothing to do with me, it?s just the character?. And I think: ?Yeah, but it is your interpretation of the character.? Because you can never get away from being you. That?s always going to be there. That?s the persistency of life. An interaction with a good director might bring you closer to aspects of yourself that might have been less apparent before. But it?s still about self. It?s still all about me.?
She?s so hard: ?I feel curious about who I would be if I had gone to university. Because I worked pretty f–king hard in high school. And sometimes I feel pissed off at my own inferiority. Because there?s stuff I don?t know. But then there?s always stuff you don?t know? And I still read a lot. My favourite author is John Steinbeck. East of Eden is my bible. I love Kerouac. Bukowski. In high school, I loved The Outsider.?
Being a high-profile LGBT actress: ?Well, yeah. And that?s been nothing but positive. I mean, it?s hard to talk about. I don?t want to seem presumptuous, because everyone has their own experience. The whole issue of sexuality is so grey. I?m just trying to acknowledge that fluidity, that greyness, which has always existed. But maybe only now are we allowed to start talking about it.?
Whether she thinks being out-in-Hollywood is a big deal: ?Oh, I think things are changing. I mean, I don?t think I would have approached my life differently if that hadn?t been the case. But who knows? Individually we are all part of that change and so I can take some credit for it, I guess ? there?s no reason why I should shy away from that. But all the prejudice; it?s going for sure.? She reconsiders. ?I mean, yeah, it?s definitely still there. People still have some horrendous f–king experiences. But it?s cool that you don?t have to nail everything down any more. That whole certainty about whether you?re straight or gay or whatever. You?re not confused if you?re bisexual. It?s not confusing at all. For me, it?s quite the opposite.?
On Donald Trump tweeting about her in 2012: ?So it?s probably the most fascinating, bizarre thing to have ever happened to me. To be personally called out by the future president. It?s like I?ve become a piece of history.?
She recently pitched in on a benefit album for Planned Parenthood. ?And obviously that?s all because of the person who I?m not even going to name. Because the truth is, he?s terrifying. He?s not funny at all.?

In the past, I?ve had mixed feelings – or outright dislike – of how Kristen presented herself and her seemingly ?performative? awkwardness, but as it turns out, that awkward Twilight girl turned into a pretty woke swan. I continue to enjoy how matter-of-fact she is about her sexuality, and this is the biggest confirmation we?ve ever gotten about how she defines herself: ?You?re not confused if you?re bisexual. It?s not confusing at all. For me, it?s quite the opposite.? I think that certainty has made her more confident and more interesting. Look at our little lip-biter, you guys. She?s all grown up!
