Blake Lively covers the new (August) issue of Vogue Magazine. This is her third Vogue cover!! And she got the cover because she?s launching her lifestyle website, Preserve. Yes. Preserve was reason enough to give Blake a Vogue cover. The article is really crazy too ? like, everyone fawns over her. Even Martha Stewart and Ivanka Trump. I almost don?t want to do highlights from the piece because there are just too many eye-rolly parts, but I?ll pull some quotes. You really should read the whole piece here though.
Blake?s sense of humor: ?When I say something funny, I don?t laugh, so my friends are always like, ?Hahahahaaaa!? so people know. When I?m not with them, I always think, This person doesn?t know I?m funny; they just think I?m a jerk.?
Preserve: As we?re driving, she tries to reach one of the dozen people on her team in Los Angeles (the company will eventually move to New York City). Much like the woman who founded it, Preserve is a fundamentally curious and free-spirited enterprise. Part digital monthly magazine, part e-commerce venture, part video blog, the site will seek out and celebrate people all over America who are making things?food, clothes, pillows, dishes, dining-room tables?with their hands?Lively is hoping to tap into her generation?s obsession with all things small-batch: the perfectly imperfect handcrafted, the exquisitely bespoke, the deliciously artisanal. She is, in essence, using all the modern-day digital tricks of the trade to shine a light on?to preserve?all those finer, simpler things in American life that are in danger of getting touch-screened into extinction, trampled on by the medium itself.
She?s always hungry: ?You know that old saying, A way to a man?s heart is through his stomach?that?s me.?
Comparisons to Goop: ?[I?m] not trying to show you the perfect life or the aspirational life. It?s real life. It?s the thing that blindsides you on an idle Tuesday that?s tragic but that also makes you who you are. It?s not about me. And it?s not about watching my journey of learning how-to, it?s about me sharing that with you so we all sort of learn together.?
Whether she?s afraid of being mocked like Gwyneth: ?I?m sure there will be plenty of people who will say horrible things. I?m sure this interview will be picked apart. But you can?t worry about it. There have been so many things written about me that are untrue and horrifying. I can?t even believe that my family has to read this stuff. You just have to do what makes you happy, because you?ll never get a unanimous vote. People like to gossip. They bond over it. They don?t bond over complimenting famous people. I?m always the first person to defend Gwyneth Paltrow. Or any woman in a position of power, like Martha Stewart or Oprah, who gets burned. Because they have paved the path for so many other women who are doing something they believe in.?
Ryan Reynolds is involved with Preserve too: ?He?s a part of it because everything we do in life we do together. If I?m working on a movie, he helps me with my character; I do the same with him. Picking out a coffee table. What we?re going to eat. He?s a beautiful writer?he?s written a lot of stuff for us. And he?s got a great barometer and he knows me, so he will tell me if it?s not as good as it can be.?
Her thoughts on Ryan: ?He?s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch?he?s so meant to be all of those things. The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he?s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he?s become, and we get to grow from there.?

Blake also talks a lot about her wedding and how when she was trying to plan it, it all went to hell so she called Martha Stewart and Martha sent her team down to save the wedding. Oh, and she had sparklers at her wedding and someone burned a hole in her Marchesa gown.
As for the comparisons to Goop and how Blake stresses that you would never, ever find any of this stuff without her efforts to ?curate? it for all of us? sigh. She exhausts me. I believe that she?s putting in a ton of work to make this an interesting site, but it also feels like a vanity project and something that has been done before in various ways. Like, it’s her personal Etsy with a dash of Goop and Lauren Conrad.

?Sources? keep saying that Blake Lively is going to launch her much-discussed website next week. The 23rd, to be exact. Apparently, Blake has been working on the site for two years, which is just kind of funny. I mean? two years? Is she coding it all by herself?! Is she doing everything single thing by hand? Does this site involve an artisanal abacus? Well? yeah, it probably does. We already heard, last week, that Blake?s site will involve ?curated fashionable items.? Now we at least know what the site will be called: Goop Junior. Blake?s Original Curated Nose. I Banged Leo DiCaprio And All I Got Was This Site. Preserve. It?s called Preserve.
Blake Lively fans prepare to get giddy because the lifestyle website that she’s been teasing us with for the last year is finally here. OK, not here at this exact moment but it’s happening very soon? As in next week!
According to the source who also confirmed the launch date, the name of the actress’ secret project will be “Preserve.”
So what can we expect? The insider tells E! News: “Preserve will focus on artisans and products, many hand-made one-of-a-kind items all selected by Blake. Items will be available for purchase through the site. Preserve is all about story-telling through video. Blake will be in some of these videos.”
[From E! News]
I feel like Generation X started this whole ?naming companies something random? thing and then Generation Y came in and took that sh-t next level. I?m sure there will be a biochemical firm named HUSK soon. Maybe a social media platform named EGGPLANT. Or an environmental advocacy group called WRENCH. So, Blake is launching Preserve. Preserve.com? Preserve the online shop selling one-of-a-kind items handmade by Blake?s merry band of artisans? Lord. Someone give Blake a job. Please.

Here is a new print ad for Blake Lively?s ongoing endorsement deal with Gucci. She?s the face of the Gucci perfume Premiere. And she and Ryan Reynolds have his-and-her Gucci endorsements. They are the Gucci couple. Allegedly, Blake got paid $4 million initially in 2012 when she became the face of the brand, but she?s probably renewed the deal at least once and that probably means more money. Gucci put out the new commercial for the campaign as well.
This is much better/sexier than the first commercial, which unfortunately had Blake mumbling through her lines awkwardly. This time around, Gucci was like, ?we don?t need to hear her speak.?
Meanwhile, Page Six had an update on Blake?s little Goop Lite site that she announced last year. I thought she would have launched the damn thing by now, but Page Six says it?s coming? soon.
Blake Lively is about to start her lifestyle and e-commerce website.
Our source says the actress will launch the site July 23 selling, ?curated fashionable items.?
Lively has said in the past of her plan, ?The main element of it is that it?s about storytelling, and it?s about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that.?
We?re told it will have a focus on artisans and products chosen by Lively, who will also appear in videos on the site.
[From Page Six]
A lot like Goop. Like, A LOT. Although, as I always say, Gwyneth Paltrow?s Goop started somewhat organically. She just did it as a newsletter once a week, then she gradually added the Goop Shop and it spread from there. Blake is trying to do it all at once ? a Lively Shop, Vlogs, advertisements for ?artisans? and such. I hate the term ?curated fashionable items.? It feels condescending. Like, peasants can?t ?curate? their own items. We don?t deserve to have a choice in what we shop for. We should just buy what Blake tells us to buy.

| Blake Lively: 'Honestly, I am a shy person and my hair is a safety net for me' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I wish there was some big, juicy breakup or hookup happening this holiday-ish week. But so far, no go. Instead we have Blake Lively talking about her hair. And her makeup. Neither of which is really Blake?s strong suit, you know? She has a great body, she has a nice smile and she has a very normal, girl-next-door appeal. But I?ve never looked at Blake and thought, ?Amazing hair? or ?stunning makeup.? Some highlights from Blake?s Hello interview:
Safety net hair: ?Honestly I am a shy person and my hair is a safety net for me, so I love to have it down and full and relaxed. Often you see people on the red carpet with tight-up dos, but that makes me feel stiff.?
Haircare: she simply applies a hair mask (she loves Kerastase Reflection Chroma Captive Hair Masque), doesn’t rinse it completely from the ends and then dries it until it’s slightly wet, pops it into a ballerina bun and lets it dry. She also loves to apply extra virgin coconut oil to the ends before shampooing.
She doesn?t wear much makeup: Blake also claims that she wears ‘very little make-up’ in her day-to-day life but cites fragrance as ‘essential’ because it evokes memories and emotions for her.
Eyelash glue: Another beauty trick she swears by is the power of eyelash glue, which she and her team use to stick her red carpet gowns to her skin to avoid any styling mishaps.
She loves to dress up: ?I’m not happy wearing sweats, because I love dressing up so much. I liken myself to a little girl having a tea party at the house all of the time. I actually dress up more in my home than I do walking down the street just because it is so much fun to play dress-up.?
[From The Daily Mail]
Well, at least she admits that she?s not into makeup, although I do NOT believe that she?s a shy person. At all. I think she?s probably very, very confident. She?s the kind of woman who goes after what she wants, shows off her figure how she wants and sets attainable goals for herself, personally and professionally. I?m not saying she?s smug or anything, I just think she?s less of a shy wallflower and more of a driven, goal-oriented woman who has coldly assessed her best features and how to use them.
As for haircare? some days I feel like I?m literally the only woman in the world who washes her hair every day with a shampoo/conditioner 2-in-1 and lets her hair air dry will zero fuss. Is this how other women spend their time? You spend hours rubbing coconut oil in your ends before shampooing and leaving some kind of hair mask in?

As you guys know, I’ve been a little disappointed in Blake Lively in the past. It’s like the second she married that Green Lantern douche, her and her awesome funbags pretty much disappeared. Well, I’m pretty sure she’s finally trying to make a hotness comeback or something, because this is the third post I’ve done […]

| Blake Lively, Beyonce & Solange at 'Chime for Change?: who looked cute' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from the one-year anniversary event at the NYC Gucci store for ?Chime For Change.? Chime for Change is a charity that promotes women?s advocacy (in economic and political terms) in developing countries. Gucci?s in-house model Blake Lively was there, as were Beyonce and Solange Knowles. The other blonde woman in these photos is Frida Giannini. I?m guessing Beyonce and Blake are tight these days? Blake appeared in Beyonce and Jay-Z’s silly ?Run? trailer for their tour too, and Blake managed to make Beyonce look like Meryl Streep.
Blake wore this Gucci Fall 2014 dress which? eh. I actually don?t have a problem with the color ? I like a blonde in yellow, usually the effect is rather ?sunny.? I do have a problem with this 60s ?mod? design on Blake?s body though. She has an incredible body, but this dress makes her look like she has WAG-style breast implants, hard and high. While I do think Blake has a boob job, please give her some credit ? her boob job is excellent. They don?t look this Barbie-ish usually.
As for Solange and Beyonce and all of that? I have no idea. My theory is that Solange sort of loves all of the attention she?s gotten from The Elevator Footage. She seems incredibly smug these days.

Here is Blake Lively turning it on the red carpet lately and once again brought her A-game while attending the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards held at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
She rocked the look from head to toe, completing her ensemble with blush suede platform stilettos, a matching satin headband, a stack of metallic and wooden bangles and large hoop earrings, while she carried a small soft Pink clutch.

| Blake Lively in Michael Kors at the CFDA Awards: mod, cute or budget? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s CFDA Awards, held in NYC. The CFDAs are like the Met Gala?s more studious, less glamorous cousin. People still show up in ball gowns, but mostly everything is low-key and about the actual awards. You can read about the awards here. First up: Blake Lively in Michael Kors. She was Kors? date for the event too. I like Michael Kors as a person, and his generally minimalist, classic styles can either be ?universal? or ?boring.? I don?t have a problem with this beaded shift dress, but I?m not sure the headband works. I get that it?s supposed to look sort of ?mod? but I don?t think it really works on Blake.
Here?s CoCo Rocha in Christian Siriano? overkill for this event. She looks like Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.
Keri Russell in Rosie Assoulin. I think the idea of this was interesting but the execution is blah. I like the idea of that blue silk being draped within the design, but it looks like someone just added it at the last minute.
Chris Kattan was there, in character as ?Mango.? Seriously! Chris was invited by Alexander Wang, who apparently is a huge fan. Wang asked Mango/Chris to help him launch a project for T by Alexander Wang. Cute.

| Blake Lively in Gucci at Ryan Reynolds' Cannes premiere: overkill or awesome' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds at the premiere of his big film, The Captive. This movie is getting pretty awful reviews, so it?s good that Blake showed up at Ryan?s premiere and made a spectacle out of herself. At least it changed the story. I actually didn?t realize something until Lainey pointed it out ? Blake is really trying to make herself and Ryan into the new Brangelina. They even pose the same Brangelina-esque way on the Cannes red carpet.
As for the dress? Blake wore Gucci Premire and Ryan was in Gucci too (they have his-and-hers Gucci contracts). Blake wore Gucci at the Met Gala too, and I kind of think she should have traded dresses between these two events. This full-on ball gown would have been much more at home at the Met Gala and the slinky caped number from the Met Gala would have been much better in Cannes. Also: Blake?s jewels are Lorraine Schwartz. She?s wearing over 180 carats, apparently. At first I thought she was wearing the necklace back-to-front, but I?m not so sure.
So, thoughts overall? I think Blake is try-hard for sure, and while this dress annoys me, I can?t really blame her for going all out. My biggest problem is that massive hair piece bun thing. It overwhelms the whole look.
Here are some photos of Ryan?s actual costar, Rosario Dawson, also in black-and-white. Her gown is Dolce & Gabbana. It?s okay. I don?t love it.
