Y?all know that I?m not a Jennifer Aniston superfan or anything, but this particular controversy has me defending Jen. So, this Christmas, many people decided to make some kind of reference to the pandemic or the vaccine in their Christmas decorations. For the most part from what I saw that meant that many people chose a couple of Christmas tree ornaments with some kind of reference to how 2020 was awful. I saw one tree decorated with a little vaccine vial, and some decorated with masked Santas, or a little syringe ornament, you get the idea. There were references to the pandemic on Christmas trees across the country, probably around the world too. So this is the ornament Jennifer Aniston had on her Christmas tree:
A wood ornament with a ?our first pandemic 2020? etched into the wood. I mean? it?s not great! I?m not defending it as the best pandemic Christmas ornament ever. But I don?t really get the backlash for it? If anything, I?m weirded out that the ornament specifies that it?s our ?first? pandemic, like she thinks she?ll survive many more pandemics. So, yeah, it?s not what I would have chosen, but it?s not like she?s fking celebrating a deadly pandemic. Jennifer has been pretty unproblematic in her messaging this year she?s encouraged all of her fans to wear masks and social-distance, she?s been supporting local businesses and small businesses and as far as I know, she cancelled her very popular Christmas party too. She?s not celebrating the virus, she?s celebrating surviving the pandemic. Ugh.
If you?re upset about Jennifer Aniston?s ornament Instagram story let?s not forget how she plugged small businesses to try to help them in a hard time, and urges people to wear masks in pretty much every post she makes. #jenniferaniston pic.twitter.com/sZJMC8ACJ8

Jennifer Aniston has an interview with the LA Times this week, really just to keep her name out there during her Emmy campaign for The Morning Show. She confirms something I didn?t know about TMS they stopped production on the show in March, only having filmed two episodes of the new season, and now the rest of the season is being re-written to incorporate the pandemic. They had to do something similar with the first season, which is? basically go back to the drawing board and incorporate more sexual harassment and sexual abuse stories within the show as Matt Lauer got outed as a predator. Anyway, you can read the full LAT piece here. Some highlights:
On The Morning Show: ?That show was 20 years of therapy wrapped into 10 episodes. There were times when I would read a scene and feel like a whole manhole cover was taken off my back.?
The show forced her to go on a cleanse about how fame has affected her for decades: ?Cathartic, yes, and also interesting for me to look at how I always have tried to normalize being fine and ?everything?s great, you know, this is all normal,? and then there are moments when you have your private breakdown or your ?Calgon, take me away? moment. To actually look at it from an actor brain observing it and acknowledging it, I had to look at it as opposed to pretending it doesn?t exist.?
She?s had moments where she doesn?t want to attend events: ?There have been moments ? not to that level of hysteria ? but moments of ?I don?t want to f?ing go here,? ?I don?t want to walk out onto the carpet,? ?I don?t want to be seen,? ?I don?t want to be looked at and everyone?s going to be talking about me and judging me? that?s real. I just loved being able to walk into it and lean into it and not be ashamed of it, but actually just it was like ? Ooooooooooh.?
Her pandemic life: She has a ?bubble? of four families that rotate among their homes and never go outside the pod. The kids have grown up together and know one another, so they have a good time, and ?it?s all lovely,? Aniston says. She?s reading, watching a ton of TV, veering between things like ?Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? and the James Baldwin-centered examination of American racism, ?I Am Not Your Negro.? And ?Lenox Hill,? the Netflix medical docuseries, because Aniston was addicted to ?Trauma: Life in the E.R.? back in the day and loves watching the stories of doctors and healthcare workers, particularly at this moment in time.
On ageing & living longer: ?I look at my dad, who just turned 87, and he is Greek ? stubborn, fabulous, all those things from that generation ? but, you know, I think they could be a little healthier. He?s going to be so mad at me? You know, my mom, c?mon, none of you guys took care of yourselves. But they didn?t know any better. And now we know. So what?s our excuse? It?s about just knowing what you put inside your body, exercising ? my father, never, ever ? they didn?t know you could keep your bones strong, never mind being fit and fitting into a size-whatever. I?m going to be in my 80s or 90s or maybe now even my 100s at this rate, and I don?t want to be wheeling around. I would like to be vibrant and thriving.?
[From The LA Times]
Jennifer obviously has a close (goddess) circle of friends who have been in her life through thick and thin for decades, and I?m sure many of those goddess-circle friends are moms and that Aniston is probably godmother (or a godmother-figure) to some of her friends? kids. But I consistently find it odd that Aniston makes all of these references to having kids around her she did that in her Interview piece earlier this year too, saying she saw her future as ?I hear the ocean, I see the ocean, I hear laughter, I see kids running?? And the way this is worded: ?She has a ?bubble? of four families that rotate among their homes and never go outside the pod. The kids have grown up together and know one another?? It?s like she has secret kids, right? That would actually be sort of amazing if she managed to pull that off. One day she would just announce ?my secret kid just graduated high school? on her Instagram.
As for the stuff about ageing? all she did was convince me that her father?s Greek genes are really sturdy and that so much of ageing and longevity is about genetics, not about diet or fitness or ?mindfulness? or whatever is the New Age terminology now.

| Jennifer Aniston 'has been' focusing on writing film scripts while in quarantine' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I wondered why Us Weekly was running a nothingburger ?exclusive? about Jennifer Aniston, but then I remembered that she?s in the midst of an Emmy campaign. She wants another Emmy this year, this time for The Morning Show. She already won the SAG Award this year (it feels like a lifetime ago). So what does Aniston?s lockdown Emmy campaign look like? Well, we probably could have predicted it! Recently, Aniston took part in the Hollywood Reporter?s actress-roundtable and she waxed rhapsodic about how the deadly, life-altering pandemic has been ?divine? and a ?blessing? and ?extremely unifying and oddly beautiful.? Tone-deaf, thy name is Aniston. As it turns out, Aniston has had a ?good lockdown? because she?s been writing and focusing on work:
Tapping into a new side. Jennifer Aniston has been productive amid the coronavirus pandemic, spending time working on her own projects, a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly.
?Jen has been writing a ton and focusing on writing film scripts while in quarantine,? the insider shares. ?She?s a homebody, so this time has been nice for her and she?s been very creative.?
The actress, 51, has ?dabbled in personal writing in the past but now the timing?s right for her to do it her own way,? a second source noted.
She?s also focused on season 2 of Apple TV+?s The Morning Show, which has yet to resume filming since being on hold due to the pandemic. Aniston both stars and produces the Golden Globe-nominated show alongside Reese Witherspoon.
?Jen?s signed over as much as six months per year of her time to The Morning Show for as long as it runs,? the first insider notes. ?Everything?s moved a lot faster and more smoothly than the first season.? Season 2 will also include a reflection of what?s going on in today?s world with the Black Lives Matter movement and the COVID-19 outbreak, showrunner Kerry Ehrin recently shared.
[From Us Weekly]
See? A nothingburger story which basically just reminds people that Aniston is in The Morning Show and she wants an Emmy and look, she?s creative too, Angelina!! As for the screenplays she?s working on? it reminds me of when Aniston got it into her head that she was a singer and that she should be up for roles in musicals and she went on The Ellen Show and she ?sang? and she just kept going on and on. She eventually dropped it. That?s what will happen here she?ll do lots of interviews about how she?s writing screenplays now and if only they could get produced, hint hint. And people will just ignore her.

| Jennifer Aniston 'has quietly donated' nearly $1 million to racial justice charities | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?m not really a fan of celebrities ?quietly donating? or ?secretly donating? money to charity. I?ve spoken about this many times one of the best ways any celebrity can use their fame and their fandom is to openly raise awareness about various charities and use their platform to encourage others to donate. Most celebrities get this, and that?s why they?ll post information on their social media about where they?re donating or how their fans can donate. Well, Jennifer Aniston has never really been like that we know she works with St. Jude?s and some other charities, but she?s rarely announced her charitable donations. Last week, Jennifer posted something on her Instagram about Black Lives Matter and a Colors of Change petition. As it turns out, Aniston then quietly confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that she also donated:
Jennifer Aniston is backing up her commitment to the fight against racial injustice with a sizable donation. The Morning Show actress who has been very open in her support with the recent protests against police brutality and racial injustice is using her money to help the cause.
A source tells ET that Aniston has quietly donated large sums of money to several charities, including Colors Of Change, to the tune of nearly $1 million. According to the source, the actress spread out her charitable donations to several worthy organizations dedicated to the battle against systemic racism and discrimination.
[From ET]
Good for her. I would have assumed that this would be the kind of hot topic Aniston would generally avoid, but it?s a whole new Aniston lately. She?s on Instagram, she?s talking about Black Lives Mattering and she?s quietly putting money where her mouth is. I would love to know which other organizations or charities got Aniston?s money. But the thought occurred to me that maybe Aniston is doing this lowkey because she wisely doesn?t want to become the face of anything. Just an ally from a distance, donating money and showing support. It?s not the worst move.
In addition to doing that Blackout thing a week ago (where she actually wrote Black Lives Matter), Aniston posted this clip of James Baldwin:
View this post on Instagram
This week has been heartbreaking for so many reasons. We need to acknowledge that the racism and brutality in this country has been going on for a long time and it?s NEVER been okay. As allies, who want equality and peace, it?s our responsibility to make noise, to demand justice, to educate ourselves on these issues, and more than anything, to spread love. How much more time are we willing to let pass without change? HOW MUCH MORE TIME? ? ? Text FLOYD to 55156 and sign the @colorofchange petition to have all four of the officers who killed #GeorgeFloyd arrested.

Just like at the Golden Globes, it was all about the reunion of Brad & Jen, aka Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, the couple who has been divorced for fifteen years. The bulk of those fifteen years, Brad was with Angelina Jolie, until it all went to hell in an alcoholic blaze in 2016. Brad Pitt did something to his son Maddox and it was bad enough that Angelina ghosted with the kids, and Brad went into some kind of rehab program. They?re still not divorced. I wondered if there would be any reference to Angelina or the kids during Brad?s Oscar campaign, and last night there was. Someone gave Brad some ?jokes? to tell if and when he won. These are the jokes:
?I?m gonna add this to my Tindr profile? and ?Quentin has separated more women from their shoes than the TSA? and then this: ?Let?s be honest, it wasn?t a difficult part, a guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn?t get on with his wife?it was a big stretch.? Brad?s OUATIH character most likely killed his wife. Brad Pitt attacked his family so badly that Angelina hasn?t wanted anything to do with him since. But now it?s a laugh line at an awards show? I mean
Meanwhile, Jennifer wore this (bridal?) Dior gown which? was fine. I was surprised she didn?t wear black, but it worked out perfectly Jennifer won a SAG for The Morning Show, and then she and Brad reunited backstage (after he stopped to watch her speech backstage) and the whole photoshoot looks very wedding-y. CAA must be so pleased!

| Jennifer Aniston slams the 'narcissists' who think every woman wants to sleep with them | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I have not subscribed to Apple+ and I don?t plan to. So I will not be watching The Morning Show. I?ve read some reviews which make it sound pretty good, or at the very least, very watchable. Most of the advance press about the show was about how the series had to be completely rewritten and reworked as #MeToo exploded and they wanted everything to be more about that. Reese Witherspoon has been more involved with Time?s Up than Jennifer Aniston, and Reese has been able to talk about those issues with more clarity? but even then, Reese still tends to talk around a lot of the nitty-gritty stuff. Which becomes clear as soon as a journalist presses her to talk about something more than vague rah-rah-feminism. Enter the Guardian Reese and Jennifer sat down together for a joint interview and the result was fascinating. Reese managed to avoid the harder questions while Jennifer mostly avoided saying much of anything. Some highlights:
Jennifer on how #MeToo isn?t just about rape & assault, it?s about power imbalance: ?There?s this absolute denial ? ?It was consensual, it was consensual? ? if you?re a narcissist to the degree a lot of these guys are. They think, of course every woman wants to sleep with me.?
Reese on the show not being an ?echo chamber?: ?This is not an echo chamber of women talking about #MeToo. It?s actually a very gender-balanced conversation because we need men watching the show. Real change doesn?t happen unless the incumbent power structure accepts it.?
Reese on being a #MeToo victim: ?I wish I could tell you that was an isolated incident in my career but, sadly, it wasn?t. I?ve had multiple experiences of harassment and sexual assault,? she said. She felt, she added, ?guilt for not speaking up earlier?. So does she wish she could have spoken out sooner? The temperature in the room drops palpably. ?Ummm no. It was a culture of silence and silence was a condition of my employment. That?s what I was told.?
On Harvey Weinstein: ?I was never alone in a room with him,? says Aniston. ?I was never alone with him either. But I didn?t know why,? adds Witherspoon. ?Me neither. But always someone would stand in the room,? Aniston echoes.
Jennifer on Instagram: ?I find it very odd. I don?t understand it ? it doesn?t make sense to me. I?d love for someone to break it down, but there it is and now it has to keep going.? She admits she joined Instagram mainly to promote the show. ?But also, I think I had this idea ? I don?t want to be the only person ? Let?s see, what do I want to say here? I thought, ?Why would I do this? People are already in my panty drawers all the time.? And I want them out of my panty drawers. But now I can decide which pair to show them.?
[From The Guardian]
Regarding Reese and the icy chill in the room when the Guardian journalist asked if Reese wishes she could speak out sooner? I think it depends on how the Guardian journalist (a woman) phrased the question. It feels like perhaps Reese felt like she was being blamed for not speaking up BEFORE Me Too made it possible. Which? again, don?t blame women for the actions of men. That being said, Reese and her connection to CAA an agency which seemed to actively procure women for Harvey Weinstein throws everything into question for me. Im also really tired of the undercurrent from Reese about how men desperately need to be included in all of these conversations. It bugs.
I agree with Jennifer about the narcissism of predators and extending the conversation to power imbalance even within ?consensual? relationships.

| Jennifer Aniston & Reese Witherspoon premiere 'The Morning Show' in New York | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s New York premiere of The Morning Show, the Apple+ show about, you got it, a morning show. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon were in New York all day doing press on Monday, and it?s clear that Apple really wants these two women to be the ?faces? of the Apple+ launch (which happens on Friday). Entertainment journalists have already gotten to see the first few episodes and the reviews are good-to-mixed. Something that?s been bugging me which a few critics have pointed out already is that Aniston?s morning show anchor is supposed to be the aging diva and Reese is supposed to be the younger upstart, All About Eve-style. But in real life and on camera, it?s clear that the age difference is negligible (about seven years). Which makes me wonder if the show is actually sort of miscast.
Anyway, the premiere. Jennifer wore a black James Galanos gown in a different kind of high-neckline style than we?re used to seeing from her. She looks refreshed, but not obviously so. Whatever she?s getting done and it is something it?s good, expensive work. Reese is wearing Celine by Hedi Slimane. We?ve seen her in different versions of that dress for decades. I?m including bonus pics of Mark Duplass (who is in the show) and Wendy Williams.
Reese and Jennifer stopped by Good Morning America and they tried their hand at ?news reading? and they weregood?
