Jennifer Aniston is known for many things: being Rachel from Friends, eating chicken salads, faking a marriage to a man who wears skinny jeans and, of course, her hair. Her hair has been a topic of conversation for three fking decades. She?s probably turned down millions of dollars in hair-care product endorsements over the years. At one point, nearly a decade ago, she did invest in an MIT-created haircare line, although I?m not sure what ever became of it. So she?s taking a mulligan, and yet there?s a throwback element to it. She is launching a new haircare line which she?s named LolaVie. Long-time Aniston-watchers might remember that she also named her first fragrance LolaVie, only she ended up needing to rename it because of a trademark issue. Now she works with Elizabeth Arden on a fragrance line, although I have no idea whats happening with that. Do people want to smell like Aniston? No, we want her hair secrets. So she?s giving us hair products at long last. Some highlights from this lengthy People Magazine interview, which is entirely about HAIR.
Her first LolaVie product is a Glossing Detangler: Ive been working on this for quite a long time. I got the bug [to go] behind the curtain and figure out development of hair products years ago. To embark on this journey, Aniston enlisted the help of Amy Sachs and Joel Ronkin, who developed some of her fragrances. Now, theyre her LolaVie co-founders. When they moved on to create their own business, it was like a match made in heaven, she says of her now co-founders.
Why ?LolaVie?: When I [arrived] and bought my very first car, a used car, somebody said to me, What did you name it? And I looked at them and I went, Is that something you do? And they were like, Uh, yeah! So I named my car Lola on the spot. Maybe its because I love that song [Sarah Vaughan's "Whatever Lola Wants"]. Then every time Id come over, theyd be like, Lolas here. So it just kind of became a name that I was called whenever I showed up [somewhere].
The product: It?s a cruelty-free, vegan formula thats packed with naturally-derived ingredients (key among them is repairing chia seed) and created without gluten, parabens, preservatives, phthalates, silicones and sulfates.
Having wavy hair: Its the perfect product for the star, who describes her head full of waves as having 300 personalitiesTheres not one strand thats doing the same thing. And its just always been a challenge for me, ever since I was a kid. Well, actually, I feel like [this is] punishment, because I had this incredible head of hair that was long and straight and down to my waist. And I always wanted to cut it, but my mom never let me. She said, When youre 13, you can do whatever you want. And that was the biggest mistake I ever made because I cut it all off. I think I mightve hit the Dorothy Hamill!
After that, her hair changed: Its always been a problem growing it and keeping it healthy. So, its been my thorn, for sure, which is why this all feels very organic for me to face a hair product head on and go, Lets make something great.
She loves blowouts: I just love a good blowout. Hairstyles have never been my thing. I just want to feel good in my skin at the end of the day, no matter what I am wearing.

This interview reminded me of something I hadn?t thought about in years, which is that something similar happened to my hair around the same age. I used to have jet-black, pin-straight hair and I wore it LONG when I was a kid. Then around the age of 12/13, I got a big haircut and suddenly my hair really changed. It got lighter, the texture was different, and it wasn?t pin-straight anymore. I don?t think it was about the haircut, but it must be something that happens to a lot of girls around that age. Just a dramatic hair change. Anyway, Jennifer?s insistence on naming sh-t ?LolaVie? is pretty funny to me. Other than that, it sounds like a good product and I?m glad she?s finally doing something about the decades-long interest in her hair.

Back in the day, before Justin Theroux, whenever Jennifer Aniston was about to embark on a promotional tour for whatever project, we would get some new round of gossip about her love life and sex life. That?s still pretty typical of how many celebrities operate a little gossip to help promote a movie, rumors of an on-set romance, some new boyfriend to take to the premiere. Theroux played that game for a while until he didn?t, and ever since their split, Jen kind of stopped doing that kind of gossip. It felt like Nu Aniston, the one who was not dependent on romance rumors to sell her work. But? the new season of The Morning Show is coming up, and I think that?s why the tabloids keep pushing all of these stories about her love life. Remember that Gabriel Aubry story? Remember the David Schwimmer story this week? Jen?s people didn?t deny either of those. So now Jen wants us to talk about her love life again:
Moving forward! Jennifer Aniston is ready to start dating again, and she has a clearer idea than ever of what she?s looking for, a source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.
?After things with Justin [Theroux] ended, Jen decided to take a break from dating and enjoy her own company for a while,? the insider says of the Morning Show actress, 52. ?She threw herself into her work, hung with friends on the weekends and got in touch with her spiritual side. It was important for her to take a step back and feel grounded ? She found it rewarding and therapeutic.?
?Eventually, after a lot of reflection, Jen decided to let loose and start dating again,? the source tells Us, noting that the actress plans to start looking outside of the entertainment world for her next partner. The Emmy winner was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and has been linked to John Mayer, Gerard Butler, Vince Vaughn and Tate Donovan.
?Jen is way more impressed by guys who are unaffected and have their heads screwed on straight than the flashy, braggy types who are all over Hollywood,? the insider continues. ?What she looks for above everything these days is kindness, humor and good looks, of course, but more than anything, she?s after chemistry.?
?Seeing how happy some of her peers are ? has really brought it home to Jen that it?s just as possible to find love outside of the Hollywood bubble,? the source explains. ?What matters more than anything is to feel happy and appreciated.?

Basically, ever since Jen and Brad Pitt got divorced, I?ve wanted her to realize that she should stop getting hot for douche-bro actors and just settle down with someone nice outside the industry. I mean, she always claimed to want a quieter life and to fall in love with someone who treated her right. That was never going to be Vince Vaughn or Justin Theroux or John Mayer. It?s beyond ?a bad picker? she actually wanted to recreate the ?Brad & Jen? celebrity couple thing and she chased that dream for a decade. And so now, sixteen years later, she?s like ?oh, yeah, I could date someone non-famous.?

One of Jennifer Aniston?s biggest appeals to People Magazine?s readership has always been that her image is very apolitical. Sure, she?s a Democrat who donates money to Democratic campaigns and such, but she?s not posting on social media about it constantly, nor does she exist in the zeitgeist as someone who speaks about difficult, sensitive, political issues. So I?ve been surprised to see her speak about the pandemic and responsible behavior a few times, and I?m sure she?s alienated some of her more conservative fans. She?s said flat-out that everyone needs to mask up and get vaccinated, and in her recent InStyle interview, she spoke about cutting people out of her life who refuse to get vaccinated:
?We all went through news fatigue, panic fatigue, during the pandemic because we were hoping one day we would wake up and hear something hopeful, and all we got was more insanity?. And there?s still a large group of people who are anti-vaxxers or just don?t listen to the facts. It?s a real shame. I?ve just lost a few people in my weekly routine who have refused or did not disclose [whether or not they had been vaccinated], and it was unfortunate. I feel it?s your moral and professional obligation to inform, since we?re not all podded up and being tested every single day. It?s tricky because everyone is entitled to their own opinion ? but a lot of opinions don?t feel based in anything except fear or propaganda.

I took that to mean that she likely had some makeup artists, stylists or yoga instructors who refused to get vaccinated, and she fired them or avoided them. While Jen?s thoughts here are very much in the majority, this is still seen as a stupidly contentious issue for the ?muh freedum? crowd and for the woo-woo crowd. So Jen was getting some pushback from people. And she doubled-down on her Instagram Stories:
On Thursday, she faced her detractors head-on, sharing her thoughts on the subject again to her Instagram Story. In her post, Aniston responded to a fan who had asked, But if [Jennifer's] vaccinated shes protected correct? Why be worried about [having unvaxxed people] around her?
Aniston explained, Because if you have the variant, you are still able to give it to me, referring to breakthrough cases of COVID-19 infections.
I may get slightly sick but I will not be admitted to a hospital and or die, the Golden Globe winner continued. BUT I CAN give it to someone who does not have the vaccine and whose health is compromised (or has a previous existing condition) ? and therefore I would put their lives at risk.
THAT is why I worry, Aniston said. We have to care about more than just ourselves.
After that, Aniston posted another Instagram Story of embroidery that said, What doesnt kill you mutates and tries again.

Good for her. She?s not playing the antivaxxers? dumbfk games and I appreciate that she?s taking a stand about this and not apologizing. She has nothing to apologize for! She?s absolutely right. People need to disclose the fact that they are unvaccinated in professional settings and public settings. There?s already a bigger move to show proof of vaccination to enter certain spaces, and various employers are mandating vaccination. Jen?s on the right side here. I do think it?s funny that she got pushback though I wonder if the antivaxxers are mad at Rachel from Friends.

No casual leaks to People Magazine or Page Six, no red carpets with anyone other than costars, no interview baiting. But? something might be happening. Us Weekly has a lengthy story about how Jennifer is currently hooking up with Gabriel Aubry, only the Us Weekly story is mostly about how Jen is feeling post-Theroux, and her new romantic/life energy in general. It?s interesting. Here?s the crux of the story:
When Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux broke up in February 2018, sources told Us that she felt it was time to take a break from dating altogether. ?Jen?s not really focused on finding romance,? an insider said at the time. ?She loves her tribe of women-friends and her dogs. That?s very fulfilling to her.?
That is, until now. Insiders say that Aniston is finally loosening up to the idea of casual dating and most recently has been enjoying a fling with Halle Berry?s ex, Gabriel Aubry, 44. ?Jen is so happy to be having fun again, but she?s doing things differently this time around,? a source tells Us. ?What?s most important to her right now is enjoying herself on a spontaneous level and that applies to every aspect of her life.?
Whenever high-profile relationships didn?t work out in the past, she was stuck with the ?poor Jen? tag, which she loathed. ?It bugged her if people thought she was lonely or generally lurching from one ill-fated relationship to the other? so instead of putting herself out there and going public like she did with ex-boyfriends like Vince Vaughn or John Mayer, she?s now decided to keep her dates low-key and under the radar.?
?Jen likes that she can enjoy herself free of judgement or expectation,? shares the source. ?That?s why Gabriel is great for her. He?s a laid-back and sensitive guy who?s not going to blab about things and Jen can feel safe knowing that what happens behind closed doors will stay private.?
The truth is, a casual affair with a drop-dead gorgeous model is exactly what Aniston wants right now. ?Unlike years gone by, Jen isn?t bothered about finding someone special for a long-term, exclusive deal. As for Aubry, ?physically he?s perfect, eyes are a big thing for Jen and she?s a sucker for guys with blonde hair and a deep tan.? Which reminds everyone of Brad Pitt, and Us Weekly has previously reported that Aniston and Pitt have secretly had a ?friends with benefits situation? going on. ?Brad won?t mind that Jen?s having fun and enjoying dates with Gabriel. They don?t really talk about other people they hang out with. It would be a little awkward. Brad trusts Jen to make the right choices with this stuff and knows she can look after herself.?

Yeah, Gabriel is her type ?physically.? And we?ve barely seen him or heard about him in years, although I remember a while back, people were trying to make ?Gabriel Aubry and Charlize Theron? into something and they basically just barely knew each other through their kids going to the same school or something. I suspect that Aubry?s name wasn?t chosen out of hat he is a lowkey guy these days and it?s not like he?ll come out and confirm or deny it either way. Plus, they might legitimately be happening.
In the Us Weekly story, there?s also this long, extended sidenote about how Laura Dern my nemesis has been advising Aniston on her love life and helping her see that a ?rich, single and decidedly middle-aged? woman could, like, have a lot of fun just dating and banging guys with no need to settle down. And then Us Weekly brings up the idea Dern and Aniston bonded over Angelina Jolie turning their lives upside down because Jesus Christ, I guess it?s 2005.

Jennifer Aniston was famously on the Atkins diet for many, many years. Atkins was massively popular in the ?90s and early ?00s for being low-carb or no-carb and heavy on proteins. Lots of chef?s salads for Aniston, basically. She still followed some variation of low-carb Atkins well after it was the trendiest diet out there. But now, in her 50s, she?s finally eating some carbs. She spoke to People Magazine about her eating habits and how she threw out her back and had to change her fitness training.
Carb Life: These days, Aniston, 52, is adding carbohydrates back into her meals. [I] started to give myself a break, allowing yourself to have pasta, a sandwich. Everyones very afraid of the bread basket, and Im no longer afraid. As long as its all done in moderation.
Carbs made a difference. Theres something my body appreciates about [having carbs], like, Oh, thank you! Why are you depriving me of things I love??
Breakfast & fasting: I kind of naturally do intermittent fasting, just because Im not a breakfast person. I just like a cup of coffee and my collagen.
Throwing out her back: I was hitting a stage in my life where I wanted to up the health game, she explains. But an injury last fall slightly derailed her plans. Back in October my back went out; Id done a really hard workout, and then one day I tried to get up and couldnt. I literally fell to the floor and ended up having to go get an MRI. Sure enough, I had a 9-mm bulging disc, which is really intense. So my whole workout had to change.
Going more for Pilates: Aniston started with Pilates to rehab her back, and is now doing it three to four times a week. It really works your body out in a very gentle way, she says. And the injury taught Aniston to take it easy on her body instead of trying to make her workouts overly complicated. When I threw my back out, I was like, Maybe it was that lunge twist squat move. We cant just do one simple move. We try to add four moves to one, she says.
She wants to get back to running: I havent been able to run, which is my love. Im going to slowly start incorporating that into my workouts again.

I think it was back in 2018, I threw out my back twice in a year and it changed the way I work out too, and it just made me feel so old. Like, I had to sleep in a certain position and the back spasms were a nightmare. I didn?t try Pilates to rehab it though, but I hear that is a gentle way to rehab that kind of injury. Like Aniston, I?m not much of a breakfast person either I used to force myself to eat some yogurt and a banana every morning but I rarely do that anymore. I just need water and then caffeine. That being said, I?m usually super-hungry by lunchtime. Also: can you even imagine avoiding carbs for the better part of 25 years and then suddenly phasing in some pasta and bread? I cannot, because I have zero willpower and I will always love carbs.

Last year, Jennifer Aniston made allusions to having children around her in two different interviews. In Interview Magazine, she was speaking about what she sees for herself in the future, and she said: ?It?s not so much what I see myself doing, but it?s more like a little screenshot in my brain, where I hear the ocean, I see the ocean, I hear laughter, I see kids running, I hear ice in a glass, I smell food being cooked?? Then, months later, in an LA Times interview, she confirmed that she was in a bubble of ?four families that rotate among their homes and never go outside the pod. The kids have grown up together and know one another, so they have a good time.?
I have a not-so-quiet theory that Jennifer really did secretly adopt a kid and some day she?ll say ?my kid just graduated from high school? and heads will explode. Either that or she just loves to constantly bait her fanbase with vague allusions to having children one day. In any case, given all of the baiting/hinting she?s been doing in recent years, a rumor cropped up that Jennifer is trying to adopt. What makes the rumor notable is that Jennifer?s rep went around denying it on the record. It feels like 2006 all over again!
Jennifer Anistons sharing lots of stories with her old costars for the Friends reunion, but she did NOT reveal some life-changing news with them about having a kid as reports have claimed. TMZ reached out to Aniston, and her rep tells us rumors of Jennifer being in the process of adopting a baby are false and never happened.
Various European tabloids began circulating the story that Aniston made the adoption announcement to her Friends co-stars this past week while they were shooting the reunion. Thats not true, but as we reported Matthew Perry did confirm the gang was back together on their old TV set for the highly anticipated HBO Max special in a now-deleted Instagram post.
We also learned the reunion was shot over the span of 3 days at Warner Brothers Studios, and production utilized the original stage and the famous fountain from the OG series. The special is set to air sometime in the next few months, but dont tune in if youre expecting Jennifer to do a gender reveal or anything like that. There just aint no baby, baby.

Anyway, do you think this was all some kind of next-level bluff because Aniston secretly adopted a child several years ago when she was fake-divorcing her fake-husband Justin Theroux? That?s just one of many theories I have!

Y?all know that I?m not a Jennifer Aniston superfan or anything, but this particular controversy has me defending Jen. So, this Christmas, many people decided to make some kind of reference to the pandemic or the vaccine in their Christmas decorations. For the most part from what I saw that meant that many people chose a couple of Christmas tree ornaments with some kind of reference to how 2020 was awful. I saw one tree decorated with a little vaccine vial, and some decorated with masked Santas, or a little syringe ornament, you get the idea. There were references to the pandemic on Christmas trees across the country, probably around the world too. So this is the ornament Jennifer Aniston had on her Christmas tree:
A wood ornament with a ?our first pandemic 2020? etched into the wood. I mean? it?s not great! I?m not defending it as the best pandemic Christmas ornament ever. But I don?t really get the backlash for it? If anything, I?m weirded out that the ornament specifies that it?s our ?first? pandemic, like she thinks she?ll survive many more pandemics. So, yeah, it?s not what I would have chosen, but it?s not like she?s fking celebrating a deadly pandemic. Jennifer has been pretty unproblematic in her messaging this year she?s encouraged all of her fans to wear masks and social-distance, she?s been supporting local businesses and small businesses and as far as I know, she cancelled her very popular Christmas party too. She?s not celebrating the virus, she?s celebrating surviving the pandemic. Ugh.

Jennifer Aniston has an interview with the LA Times this week, really just to keep her name out there during her Emmy campaign for The Morning Show. She confirms something I didn?t know about TMS they stopped production on the show in March, only having filmed two episodes of the new season, and now the rest of the season is being re-written to incorporate the pandemic. They had to do something similar with the first season, which is? basically go back to the drawing board and incorporate more sexual harassment and sexual abuse stories within the show as Matt Lauer got outed as a predator. On The Morning Show: ?That show was 20 years of therapy wrapped into 10 episodes. There were times when I would read a scene and feel like a whole manhole cover was taken off my back.?
The show forced her to go on a cleanse about how fame has affected her for decades: ?Cathartic, yes, and also interesting for me to look at how I always have tried to normalize being fine and ?everything?s great, you know, this is all normal,? and then there are moments when you have your private breakdown or your ?Calgon, take me away? moment. To actually look at it from an actor brain observing it and acknowledging it, I had to look at it as opposed to pretending it doesn?t exist.?
She?s had moments where she doesn?t want to attend events: ?There have been moments ? not to that level of hysteria ? but moments of ?I don?t want to f?ing go here,? ?I don?t want to walk out onto the carpet,? ?I don?t want to be seen,? ?I don?t want to be looked at and everyone?s going to be talking about me and judging me? that?s real. I just loved being able to walk into it and lean into it and not be ashamed of it, but actually just it was like ? Ooooooooooh.?
Her pandemic life: She has a ?bubble? of four families that rotate among their homes and never go outside the pod. The kids have grown up together and know one another, so they have a good time, and ?it?s all lovely,? Aniston says. She?s reading, watching a ton of TV, veering between things like ?Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? and the James Baldwin-centered examination of American racism, ?I Am Not Your Negro.? And ?Lenox Hill,? the Netflix medical docuseries, because Aniston was addicted to ?Trauma: Life in the E.R.? back in the day and loves watching the stories of doctors and healthcare workers, particularly at this moment in time.
On ageing & living longer: ?I look at my dad, who just turned 87, and he is Greek ? stubborn, fabulous, all those things from that generation ? but, you know, I think they could be a little healthier. He?s going to be so mad at me? You know, my mom, c?mon, none of you guys took care of yourselves. But they didn?t know any better. And now we know. So what?s our excuse? It?s about just knowing what you put inside your body, exercising ? my father, never, ever ? they didn?t know you could keep your bones strong, never mind being fit and fitting into a size-whatever. I?m going to be in my 80s or 90s or maybe now even my 100s at this rate, and I don?t want to be wheeling around. I would like to be vibrant and thriving.?

Jennifer obviously has a close (goddess) circle of friends who have been in her life through thick and thin for decades, and I?m sure many of those goddess-circle friends are moms and that Aniston is probably godmother (or a godmother-figure) to some of her friends? kids. But I consistently find it odd that Aniston makes all of these references to having kids around her she did that in her Interview piece earlier this year too, saying she saw her future as ?I hear the ocean, I see the ocean, I hear laughter, I see kids running?? And the way this is worded: ?She has a ?bubble? of four families that rotate among their homes and never go outside the pod. The kids have grown up together and know one another?? It?s like she has secret kids, right? That would actually be sort of amazing if she managed to pull that off. One day she would just announce ?my secret kid just graduated high school? on her Instagram.
As for the stuff about ageing? all she did was convince me that her father?s Greek genes are really sturdy and that so much of ageing and longevity is about genetics, not about diet or fitness or ?mindfulness? or whatever is the New Age terminology now.
