I was sort of wondering if this would happen after The Brangelina Wedding happened. If you remember correctly, Jennifer Aniston was in the midst of promoting Life of Crime and a slew of other new movies (Cake, She?s Funny That Way, Horrible Bosses 2) throughout the next few months. Early promotional updates had Aniston schedules to appear at Venice, TIFF and more. But she never came to Venice. I guess she wanted to put some distance between the Brangelina stuff and her first appearance, so she went dark for a few weeks. Smart. And here she is ? she showed up to the TIFF premiere of Cake yesterday.
I can?t find the designer ID on her LBD (maybe Dior?), but she looks good. Kind of boring, but good. I mean, Aniston loves an LBD. And as far as Aniston?s LBDs go, this is one of the best ones I?ve seen. Very flattering, her legs look great and I like how it fits her body. I would have loved to see her bring something different with her hair (flat-ironing, hair-in-face thing is so ?90s). Justin Theroux came out to support her too, and her costars Anna Kendrick and Sam Worthington were also on hand.
If you remember, Cake is Aniston?s big attempt to play a gritty, dark, depressed character. She wants to break out of the rom-com hole, I guess. She plays a woman who survived some kind of terrible accident, someone with visible (and psychological) scars, who lives in chronic pain. She didn?t wear any makeup for the role, according to her director. Jennifer spoke to Variety about the film:

?She basically has to decide whether she wants to live or die,? Aniston said. ?The woman?s journey is so heartbreaking but so uplifting, because she?s gone through a trauma but maintains her wit, which is very endearing.?
The project, which is looking for a U.S. distributor, came together very fast. Director Daniel Barnz and his partner, producer Ben Barnz, discovered the script in a screenwriting contest 13 months ago and met with the actress in November. Filming started April 3, the final touches were added weeks ago.
Aniston said as soon as she had finished reading the script (by first-timer Patrick Tobin), ?I knew I was going to do it,? because it was a challenge but an opportunity ?to express empathy? for the character and all those undergoing similar experiences.
Aniston allowed herself to be photographed without makeup and looking haggard (though, it should be noted, in person she looks pretty spectacular). Every movement for the character is painful, ?which was hard on my body for five weeks of shooting. I spent weekends seeing a chiropractor and getting massages and trying to maintain my sanity.?
Early word on her performance is very positive and Aniston is upbeat about ?Cake,? which she sums up as ?the little indie that could.?

I think at this point, genuine celebrities run into Kim Kardashian and they?re nice to her. Like, no one is rolling their eyes at her like they probably did four years ago. Stepping out for some promotional duties, Jennifer Aniston and Will Forte showed up at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood to plug their new flick ?Life of Crime? last night (August 27).
The ?Rumor Has It? actress donned a fabulous Saint Laurent dress as she hammed it up for the fans and shutterbugs while Will hid beneath a bushy beard he?s been growing for an upcoming role.
Per the synopsis, ?Two common criminals get more than they bargained for after kidnapping the wife of a corrupt real-estate developer who shows no interest in paying the $1 million dollar ransom for her safe return.?
Meanwhile, Mr. Forte chatted with press about his experience with the film, so check out the video. ?Life of Crime? hits theaters on August 29th.

These are some of the most depressing premiere pics I?ve ever seen of Jennifer Aniston. She was premiering Life of Crime in LA, and it was like someone just told her that Santa Claus isn?t real. She looks like she?s about to cry in nearly all of the pics! What?s up, Jen? Not only that, but she totally looks pregnant in this Saint Laurent ensemble. My guess: she was boozing it up and maybe eating some pasta just before the red carpet. Either that or the sparkly little dress isn?t that flattering.
As for Life of Crime, People Magazine had a nice interview with Jennifer where she talks about her 1970s socialite character and how she based the look on her mom, Nancy Aniston, in the ?70s. When talking about the Elmore Leonard source material, she said: ?I love how he writes his characters? I thought [my character] had such a beautiful arc and a powerful one. In that time, to write that for a woman in the ’70s was pretty awesome.” She also said she wants to produce and direct more stuff and this is what she?s drawn to: ?I love human experience. I love human beings and behavior and relationships, and it will probably have something to do with that.”
Jennifer also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and he made her do a sort-of Friends reunion. Does she really not know what ?fan-fiction? is? Does this bit sort of fall flat or is it just me? And yes, she seems stoned.

Yay, Jennifer Aniston is promoting something. She?s actually going to be promoting several films over the next few months. She?s got Life of Crime coming out, plus Cake, Horrible Bosses 2 (that?s out in November) and She?s Funny That Way (I don?t know when that comes out). So, Jennifer sat down for her first TV interview of the autumn movie season. Carson Daly interviewed her for Today. Jennifer talked about feminism, the interest in her personal life (major eyeroll on her reaction to that one), her Friends past and more. Some highlights:
Feminism: “I don’t have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and ? if they’re not checked, then I’ve failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman.”
On taking darker film roles, like her new on in “Life of Crime”: “I’m having a lot of fun, because I’ve been branching out and having fun playing different characters and hiding and going into ? you know, some darker stuff. So I’m excited about it.
On her post-”Friends” career: “I kind of feel very grateful to my evolution and my history ? I would never exchange it for anything.”

I don?t really have a problem with the substance of her answers on feminism and her worth as a woman, but taken in context of who she is and her history of playing certain aspects of her personal life out in media, I do think she?s full of it. If you don?t want society to define your worth by whom you marry and whether you?re having babies, fine. More power to you. But don?t build your whole image and public persona on whom you married (and divorced) and whether you?re going to have babies.

When describing the differences between himself and Aniston and whether social media played a part, he said:

Jennifer Aniston sat down for an interview with Yahoo last week. The interview was conducted by Bobbi Brown, as in the makeup line woman. The piece is surprisingly long. And deep as a puddle. To be fair to both of them, I think the goal/vibe of this interview was just supposed to be about beauty, makeup, hair and style. As it turns out, Bobbi Brown is a huge fan of Aniston and Aniston in turn kisses Bobbi?s ass. Bobbi starts out complimenting Aniston?s style and Aniston says it?s ?just called laziness.? Yawn. Aniston?s style confessions: ?This is my secret: The trick to T-shirts is I that I usually tailor them. Which is silly, but it works. Or you just have to find the perfect one. James Perse has really great T-shirts and tank tops, Theory is great for T-shirts and basics, and for jeans, I have these Genetic jeans that they don?t even make anymore. I take the pockets off of Hudson jeans, because I like the fit, but not the pockets. Helmut Lang does a good skinny jean, too. And I wear Saint Laurent jackets.?
Aniston shills Living Proof: ?Have you discovered the Restore Mask yet? That?s a game changer. I do it every Sunday because I do highlight my hair. The one thing with hair, as we get older, is it doesn?t necessarily react as beautifully as it used to when we were in our 20s, which I never knew. Did you know that, that hair ages?… It loses weight.?
Aniston?s aging secret is Greek genes: ?My dad is 100 percent Greek; he turned 81 and he barely has a wrinkle. And neither does my grandmother, who was 95 when she died. But it?s also just water, drinking a lot of water, using really nice good products for your face. Don?t overproduct, that?s the other thing. Getting proper sleep is always important.?
Food/diet: ?I have a Greek salad in front of me, but I also indulge. Oh my god there?s a balance. I just had a bagel. I usually give myself bread on the weekends, but really, my body doesn?t love carbs. These days, if I was being super picky, I would love to drop 5 pounds. That is just where I have always been really comfortable at about 110 to 113 pounds. But it is harder at this age.?
Plastic surgery: ?There is also this pressure in Hollywood to be ageless. I think what I have been witness to, is seeing women trying to stay ageless with what they are doing to themselves. I am grateful to learn from their mistakes, because I am not injecting s**t into my face. No honestly, I see them and my heart breaks. I think, ?Oh god if you only know how much older you look.? They are trying to stop the clock and all you can see is an insecure person who won?t let themselves just age. I also have a fianc who will put a gun to my head if I touch my face in any way.?
Aniston does lasers: ?There are also so many things that women can do today with technology in terms of LED light therapy, good lasers that tighten the muscles, and massages for your face?and don?t forget great creams. I think that?s the route to go. I also understand that age is kind of awesome. I am fortunate enough to know women like Gloria Steinem, who I think is one of the most stunning women on the planet, and doesn?t touch her face. Diane Keaton, Annette Bening, all of these fabulous fearless women who are flawless, they embrace it! You know, to each their own; I don?t judge it if you do it, but sometimes I wish I could beg the people I know, who I am very near and dear to, to not touch their face.?

First of all, she?s totally talking about Courteney Cox, correct? Aniston brings it up twice ? that there are women close to her that she wishes would stop messing with their faces. I?m thinking it?s Courtney. Because what other woman close to Aniston really messes with her face? For all of her faults, Chelsea Handler does not Botox. Neither does Jennifer Meyer. It?s totally CC. Aniston judges CC?s face (as do we all).
As for: ?I also have a fianc; who will put a gun to my head if I touch my face in any way?? Gurl, has he seen your original nose? But I guess that doesn?t count if it happened before him? And she?s confessed to doing Botox once or twice, but she?s never been all Nicole Kidman about it. One theory I have though ? she?s gotten collagen lip injections on-and-off for the past five years. Nothing crazy, nothing overboard, but it’s just something I’ve noticed.

A new friend for our favorite Friend! Jennifer Aniston has found herself a new bestie in Sandra Bullock, a source close to Aniston tells Us Weekly exclusively.
“Jen and Sandra are new BFFs,” the insider tells Us. “They’re very excited about the new friendship.”
Aniston, 45, got to know Bullock, 49, over a dinner party at mutual pal Gwyneth Paltrow’s house. They bonded over many things, likely including their epic, painful divorces (Aniston’s from Brad Pitt, Bullock’s from Jesse James), and their shared ex-boyfriend Tate Donovan.
Bullock was engaged to Donovan, now 50, in the early 1990s, but the couple split before they had a chance to say “I do.” Just a few years later, in the mid-1990s, Donovan — who guest starred on Friends as Rachel Green’s love interest Joshua Burgin — presented a ring to Aniston, who ended her relationship with the 24: Live Another Day star in 1998.
