Us Weekly has confirmed that Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey are engaged. Can someone stay with Jessica Simpson? Yeah, she?s in the bathroom throwing up after spending the night downing straight tequila. Just pull her hair back and put a trash can by her side. Don?t lay her on her back! Back to Nick and Vanessa - that?ve been together since 2006, with only a couple of bumps in the road, like this past summer?s breakup. I always thought that Nick was a little gun-shy, given his first experience with marriage was so awful, and I actually had a wager (with myself) that Nick and Vanessa would never marry. But he proposed a few days ago? and he even had a good ring! Asscher cut! Good boy.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are engaged, reps for both stars tell UsMagazine.com exclusively.
“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,” the couple tells Us in a statement.
“They’re so happy, doing great,” a source adds. “Thrilled about it.”
According to another source, Lachey proposed with an Asscher-cut diamond with baguettes from Bader & Garrin.
“I popped the question on bended knee,” Lachey tweeted Thursday. “I do a lot of squats so my knees are very strong.”
The two began dating in 2006, following his highly-publicized divorce from Jessica Simpson. Though they briefly split last summer, they got back together a short time later.
The True Beauty host recently told Parade their relationship has lasted all this time because they openly communicate.
“You have to talk through everything,” she said. “We talk daily about things that upset us. It’s about having a sounding board because if you hold in all your thoughts, dreams, anger and anxiety than you’re only hurting yourself.”
She said they have no plans to do a reality show a la MTV’s Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, which caused strain in Lachey’s relationship with Simpson, 30.
Chatting on Good Day Philadelphia last year, the Sing-Off host — whose show was just renewed for a second season — said he was “happy” with Minnillo, whom he described as “a very smart girl. She’s far smarter than I!”
Lachey and Minnillo have another reason to celebrate: They both have birthdays Nov. 9.
Lachey will be 37; Minnillo, 30.

Good for them, and congratulations. I think Vanessa has stuck by him and shown him that she?s in it for the long haul, and I?m sure Nick appreciates that most of their life together is private, and not for mass consumption. Do you think Vanessa is knocked up? Ye Olde Standby for getting a guy to propose? Could be. I wouldn?t put it past her, but maybe not.
Whatever happens though, I hope Vanessa enjoys the hell out of Jessica Simpson?s money.

Finally ready to give marriage another go, Nick Lachey has gotten engaged to marry girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo!
Confirming the joyous news, reps for the pair released a joint statement reading, "We're excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together."
Seemingly over the moon over the decision to spend their life together, a source tells Us magazine: "They're so happy, doing great. Thrilled about it."
As for the details, an insider dished that Lachey - who was previously married to Jessica Simpson - popped the question by bestowing Miss Minnillo with an Asscher-cut diamond with baguettes from Bader & Garrin.
Tweeting about the proposal, Lachey wrote, "I popped the question on bended knee. I do a lot of squats so my knees are very strong."

Back in June, the National Enquirer reported that Nick Lachey and his longterm girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo, were trying to land their own reality show. Supposedly producers were telling them “the project needed a hook” so Vanessa was actively trying to get pregnant in order to sell that plotline. Romantic, isn’t it? I was hoping this story wasn’t true, because I remember how Lachey cried to a reporter for Rolling Stone after his marriage with Jessica Simpson ended and explained that doing the reality show had negatively impacted their relationship. He didn’t blame the show for the disintegration of his marriage, but he did say a bunch of things about how it was a bad experience for them. He said “Jessica and I began playing these parts even when we were by ourselves. It became a really blurred line. There was a question about what truly was our reality. When you are on a reality show, your life ceases to be reality. It becomes TV.”
Now OK! Magazine is reporting that Nick and Vanessa are planning on getting married and are pitching some kind of Newlyweds 2.0 show, except it somehow feature other newlyweds in order to take away the boredom factor. I wonder if anyone is even remotely interested. We haven’t heard much from these two lately.

“They are exploring an idea to get married and do a show about newlyweds. It would help Nick relaunch his career and Vanessa take her career to the next level.”
The idea worked well in the past - Newlyweds, starring Nick and then-wife Jessica Simpson, was a ratings hit for MTV and the talk of the nation from 2003 to 2005.

Yes the idea worked well - for MTV, not for Nick and Jessica on any level. Reading Nick’s Rolling Stone interview over again, I’m struck by what an emotional committed guy he is. He really loved Jessica and he was heartbroken that they broke up. I watched that Newlyweds show a few times and I remember really liking him. He’s watchable, and people might be interested in seeing him again with his Vanessa. He’s only screwing over his relationship by trying to feature it on television, though. I would think he would have realized that after all he went through, but tough times must have convinced him otherwise. I’m glad these two are solid, though. They seem like they’re so in love.

Relaxing over the weekend, Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey were spotted at a friend?s party in West Hollywood on Saturday (August 21).
The ?What?s Left of Me? crooner and his lovely lady arrived to show off a home-baked cake made my Minnillo herself.
In career news, Vanessa has been working with the folks over at AXE Shower products to help motivate men to increase their personal hygiene.
And if having Miss Minnillo tell you to keep it clean doesn?t do the trick, fellas, you might just be completely hopeless!

Taking another step in their relationship, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have adopted a pet dog as part of their family.
The “What’s Left of Me” singer and his gorgeous girlfriend picked out a one-year-old Siberian Husky named Kona after seeing it on display at an adoption event.
Nick explained, “I was driving down Ventura and we saw rescue dogs on the side of the road. Vanessa was with me — I don’t make those kind of decisions alone anymore — but since I grew up with a husky, I couldn’t resist.”
From his past experience with the breed, Nick said Huskies are a challenge"because they can be aloof. They need a lot of exercise, but once you let them know that you’re the alpha male, they’re very loyal, great dogs.”

They’re no strangers to traveling all over the place, and last night (February 3) Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo were spotted at LAX International Airport.
The “What’s Left of Me” crooner and his hottie girlfriend looked to be in good spirits as they made their way through the terminal.
In a recent interview, Nick revealed the key to their happy home. “We’re very competitive in terms of games and really whatever we do. [But] Vanessa is very nice [when] she supports my teams. That is what makes for a peaceful house.”
He continued, “I can’t mess with Vanessa when it comes to video games, so I’ve learned to shift to board games that I can win, like Trivial Pursuit.”

Looking very much in love, a Jordan jumpsuit-clad Nick Lachey and his lovely lady Vanessa Minillo were spotted grabbing up lunch in Studio City over the weekend (January 23).
Holding hands and sharing a laugh as they exited a local eatery, the former “Newlyweds” star and his beauty queen lady strolled along past awaiting paparazzi and up to their nearby car.
The sighting comes amidst National Enquirer reports that Nick and Vanessa are struggling in the bank account department as of late.
With his new disc having been put on hold indefinitely, sources allege that Nick was “expecting a big payday from his new album.”
Allegedly unable to afford a previously planned dream wedding, things are said to have gotten to the point where Lachey is “trying to pick up hosting gigs” to pay for he and Vanessa’s ritzy taste.

Enjoying an evening out together, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo were spotted leaving Beso restaurant on Friday night (December 11).
The boy band stud and his reality TV star beauty held hands as they made their way through the crowd at Eva Longoria’s restaurant and into to the parking lot, doing their best to ignore the on-hand paparazzi.
Coming up next week, Lachey’s upcoming capella show, “The Sing Off” will be airing on NBC for four night beginning December 14th.
Of a capella performances, Nick says, “When it all comes together, I think there is no better sound in the world,” he added. “On the flipside, if it doesn’t come together successfully, it can come off not so impressively, which is what these groups are challenged with. It’s blend, tone, timing, feeling. You have to sing with one voice and that’s the challenge of it.”

Out for each other’s birthdays, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo were spotted earlier today (November 9) at Jinky’s in Studio City, CA.
The hunky singer turns 36 today, while his sexy “Disaster Movie” girlfriend is 29. The two both looked to be in celebratory moods as they enjoyed their breakfast.
In other news, Lachey- a Cincinnati native- alongside chef Rachel Ray, recently teamed up for a good cause by making over a Cincinnati soup kitchen.
The two unveiled a makeover for a soup kitchen in the struggling city on Saturday (November 7) in which they provided their own time, new kitchenware and furniture, as well as supplying the day’s hungry with casserole, green beans, ham and roast beef.
