These are photos of Ben Affleck, Lindsay Shookus and her daughter and parents out hiking yesterday with their dogs. Ben adopted the husky as a stray puppy in October of last year. Hes had the German Shepard for some time as Im pretty sure he was photographed with that dog back in 2012. (A search for Ben Affleck German Shepard reveals that the dogs name is Hutch.) He also has a three year-old golden retriever that stays with his family.
E! Online has the news that Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus had a date night along with her parents. Lindsays parents are staying at Bens new mansion along with Lindsays five-year-old daughter. (The photos of Lindsay, Ben and her family at dinner are exclusives and you can see them on X17 and E!) E! curiously adds the detail that Lindsay had a glass of wine. We know that Ben has been struggling with his sobriety and from that angle Lindsays drinking is noteworthy. However this reads like a publicist-sourced article, which suggests another reason for emphasizing Lindsay drinking. Remember how X17 has been suggesting Lindsay is pregnant (because she has a normal-looking stomach from some angles)? Lindsay and Ben even went to a doctor together, leading X17 to double down:

Photo agency X17 has plenty of photos and video taken right outside Bens new estate, conveniently right down the street from his ex and family. I think he cant avoid the paparazzi unless he takes evasive measures, which he likely did not do on Monday night. Ben and his girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, were seen out in Venice, CA, where they went to Italian restaurant Felix Trattoria. You can see a video below. To their credit they had a driver. In the still photos from that night they both look miserable, but at least theyre sympatico in that they have the same expression. Heres the video from X17 along with a link to more photos of Lindsay taken earlier this week. There are newer photos of them here. They were seen outside Afflecks office yesterday. SNL is on hiatus so Lindsay is able to spend more time on the west coast.

Do you remember how Ben Affleck was shopping for a home, with Lindsay Shookus in tow, just a few weeks ago in LA? Well shortly after that he was rented an apartment in New York where he and Lindsay could stay together while he was visiting here there. Lindsay is reportedly staying there while Ben is away and it sounds amazing. It had three bedrooms, 2,761 square feet and panoramic views. Apartments in that building go for around $28,000 a month and of course there’s a butler, pool, movie theater and I’m sure a gym. This news came out last week but I just read about it now, so I wanted to report on it. Here’s People’s story:
Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus are sharing a lavish New York City apartment when the actor is in town.
The Justice League is paying for the Upper West Side apartment and stays there with Shookus when he?s in the city, a source tells PEOPLE. The Saturday Night Live producer moved in about a month ago.
Affleck?s focus continues to be on his family and staying healthy, another family source says, adding that part of his happiness is being with Shookus.
The 2,761 square foot apartment includes 3 bedrooms, panoramic views of both Central Park and the Hudson River, a private movie theater, pool and 24/7 butler service. Apartments in the luxury building lease for an average of more than $28,000 a month.

That’s some perk to dating Ben Affleck. I’m sure Lindsay makes bank, but not enough to afford a place like that. Meanwhile Ben was spotted out in LA over the weekend with his estranged wife, Jennifer Garner. They were seen out taking a walk on Friday and you can see that photo here. They look very matchy and well dressed. Then, on Saturday, they went to shop for a Christmas tree with their kids. The Daily Mail has those photos, they’re exclusive. As for everyone who says they’re just doing what they have to do for the kids, I get spending Thanksgiving and the holidays together but it seems like they do more than most couples who intend to get a divorce. Every couple/family is different, but I see how the tabloids keep speculating that they’re reconciling, especially given how this has been playing out.

Do you know how Jennifer Garner kept emphasizing that her family was celebrating Thanksgiving together, Ben included? She talked about the sports stations she had set up for the kids, the elaborate meal she was preparing, and the fact that Ben?s mom was going to be there.
?Ben?s mom, Chris [Boldt], will be in town and she and Ben will take the kids and I?ll have crafts set up and I?ll have T-Ball, soccer, I?ll have anything set up…
?If they will play with the kids and just let me cook, it is heaven for me/ ?I will make homemade bread, I?ll make stuffing, I?ll make a turkey, I?ll make gravy, I?ll make sweet potato pudding, I?ll make pies. Just let me have that day in the kitchen.?

Ben used his family?s Thanksgiving plans as a talking point during his press tour as well but I tend to tune him out more. Now I?m wondering when exactly Lindsay Shookus flew in because you know she didn?t have Thanksgiving with Ben?s family, that would have been awkward. Did she have Thanksgiving with her ex and child? I doubt she has the same kind of conscious uncoupling arrangement as Ben.
Ben and Lindsay were seen out with iced coffees heading to lunch on Saturday. (The paparazzi agency captioned these photos that they were getting lunch. People reported that they were getting coffee.) Lindsay was in a button down blue dress shirt tied at the waist paired with black skinny jeans frayed at the ankles and white sneakers. She?s very calculated in her forgettable casual wear, as I?ve mentioned before.
I wonder how Ben took his ex?s interview that she would rather not be single and that she didn?t envision this life for herself. Jen also said that men shouldn?t be lumped into the same category and that ?we can?t just assume that every man has done something awful or that every man is guilty; due process is important and has to take place.? She didn?t directly refer to Ben, but it?s assumed she was referring to his groping incidents, which Affleck wildly mischaracterized in an interview with Stephen Colbert. (I honestly thought he was referring to a different groping incident, not the one on video with Hilarie Burton, as that could in no way be mistaken for a hug with a misplaced hand, he reached out and grabbed her breast deliberately.)
Affleck also gave an interview a couple of weeks ago to Today, which we didn?t cover here. It seems like he?s just addressing one transgression in every interview and dismissing and talking around it. Remember how he issued a statement last month condemning Weinstein and claiming he had no knowledge of his abuses, but then got called out by Rose McGowan for lying about it? Well he just talked around the issue, like he always does. When asked about that, he said:
?I don?t really want to get into other people?s individual stories because I feel like those are their stories and they are entitled to tell as much or as little of those as they want. believe Rose, I support her, I really like and admire her tenacity and wish her the best.?

That?s Affleck, talking around things and sounding like he?s addressing them, but not discussing the reality of what happened and never admitting guilt. I hope Lindsay is enjoying her victory laps with Ben now. She?s earned it and she will continue to earn it if she stays with him.

Ben Affleck was a guest on last night?s Colbert. Just noticing superficial things, he has a neckbeard and his suit was ill-fitting, I?ll say. He was in need of some styling assistance. I can?t believe he?s been doing Justice League press all this time and no one has said to him that he might want to get his facial hair groomed. He?s likely surrounded by sycophants, which explains why he?s doing press in the first place.
On Colbert, Affleck sort-of addressed the stories and videos of him groping and behaving inappropriately with women. He totally glossed over the accusations and misrepresented them. Those stories were surprisingly limited in scope in that we heard he groped several women at a Golden Globes party in 2014 and we saw two videos from the early ‘aughts of him grabbing talk show hosts. No other accounts have come out and I?d be interested to hear if there was a lot of work done to address that behind the scenes.
Colbert and Affleck opened by talking about the 20th anniversary of Good Will Hunting. Then Colbert brought up Weinstein. You can see this at 2:40 in the interview below and here?s the applicable part of their discussion [via E! Online]
The person who started your career is Harvey Weinstein. After the revelations? did you feel, because you had such a close association with him at the beginning of your career, that you had to do more than simply distance yourself from Harvey Weinstein?
You know, for me, it was awful to see the extent of these terrible crimes. It was hideous. I haven’t worked for Harvey in more than 15 years, but nonetheless, I felt this attachment? so, it sort of tainted that a little bit to realize while we were having these experiences and making these movies, there were people who were suffering and dealing with awful experiences. I didn’t really know what to do with that, you know? It’s hard to know.
You yourself have been accused of a few things?sexual impropriety?and you’ve apologized for some of that
What I was accused of by a woman was of touching her breast while I gave her a hug. I don’t remember it, but I absolutely apologized for it. I certainly don’t think she’s lying or making it up.
It?s just the kind of thing we have to, as men, I think, as we become more aware of this, be really, really mindful of our behavior and hold ourselves accountable and say, ‘If I was ever part of the problem, I want to change. I want to be part of the solution.’ And to not shy away from these awkward or strange encounters we might have had where we’re sort of navigating and not knowing. I just did an interview where somebody asked me a question?it was a serious question, and I kind of felt uncomfortable and didn’t know what to say and laughed awkwardly. It’s just a tricky thing to try to handle. I think the most important thing to do is to support the voices coming forward, believe them, and create a business where more women are empowered and in place so less of this happens, and so there is a way of reporting this stuff so that people can feel safe doing it.
I thought I had a sense of the scope of the problem and I thought I understood it, and the truth is I really didn’t. I didn’t understand what it’s like to be groped, to be harassed, to be interrupted, talked over, paid less, you know, pushed around, belittled?all the things that women deal with, that for me as a man, I have the privilege of not having to deal with. Part of this, for me, has been listening to people I really care about and love as they tell me stories of stuff that has happened to them?this is men and women?and recognizing it’s a real thing. I’m not spokesman. I’m not a superhero. I can’t change it by myself. I can just be accountable for myself and my actions.

It?s so hard for Ben Affleck. It?s so hard to know. Affleck may have been accused of touching a woman?s breast while giving her a hug, that would not surprise me, but what he was accused of which he has never addressed is grabbing a woman?s butt randomly at a party in 2014 and doing it so deliberately and invasively that he put his finger in her butt crack. He was called out by another woman for groping her friends at that same party. He is absolutely a gaslighter and a bulsh-tter but we already knew this about him. Plus there is video of him grabbing Hilarie Burton?s breasts out of the blue, not during a hug. He apologized for that, but only because it was caught on tape I would assume. That?s a fact, not an ?accusation? and he didn?t address that at all he just brought up a lesser “accusation.” He is an a–hole who says what he thinks people want to hear and talks in circles, never admitting what he did and still creating doubt as to whether it actually happened. Those type of people are also called narcissists. To his credit Affleck followed Kevin Smith?s lead and is giving back his residuals from the Miramax films to RAINN and Film Independent, which of course he mentioned last night as well.
Also, one end note: Justice League has a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, which WB worked to embargo until the morning of its release. It is not worth your money.
I’m kind of mad now and it’s Friday so here are some pictures of GOOD DOGS to balance out this annoying story. Good dogs deserve more attention than Ben Affleck minimizing his assaults.

Ben Affleck didn’t show up to church yesterday. It was just Jennifer Garner in gray slacks, a black short sleeve t-shirt and pointy loafers with their kids. Last week Ben was in New York visiting his girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, who was busy at work on Saturday Night Live. (Lindsay and Ben stepped out together last Wednesday and you can see those photos on US Magazine. They’re exclusives so we don’t have access to them.) Ben was seen flying out of JFK the next day, November 9, so he presumably was in LA over the weekend. He’s definitely been doing the press rounds for Justice League as there are a bunch of new interviews with him. Given the current climate in Hollywood and the big question mark over Ben’s future as Batman, it doesn’t seem like the best idea to put him front and center for promotion but he has been. In fact Ben was asked point blank if he would continue to play Batman and it sounded like he shrugged. In a brief interview segment with ET, which is below, Jason Momoa pitches himself to host SNL because he never has and really wants a chance. He’s surely hoping Ben will put a word in with his girlfriend. The interviewer then quickly changes the subject and asks Ben if he’ll be playing Batman a total of five times, which would make two more additional movies, and he’s like “I don’t know.” Here’s a transcript of that part, and the writer at Bleeding Cool added all the commentary, which was cute so I left it in.
Wright: How many times have you played Batman now? Three?
Affleck (looking tired): Well, if you count Suicide Squad, it?s three, yeah. (exhales heavily)
Wright: You think that?s gonna be a five-timer at least?
Affleck: (inhales deeply) I don?t know about that. (sighs heavily) We?ll see what the future holds.

Advance reviews for Justice League, which is out this week, are generally positive. That’s a good thing for a DC vehicle as they tend to be less well received than Marvel’s films, with the notable exception of Wonder Woman. A lot of money and effort was spent on reshoots with new director Joss Whedon, and it may have paid off. Critics say JL has more humor than Suicide Squad or Batman vs. Superman and that it’s a definite improvement over both.
Do you think Ben is waiting for the other shoe to drop? So far we’ve heard he’s groped three women at least. Do you think he’s worried that more women are going to come out with receipts? Do you think his team has been frantically trying to suppress all that behind the scenes? Whose bright idea was the US Weekly cover this week? That’s the one where Garner still stands by him, he’s sober yet again after rehab and his estranged wife’s goodness is rubbing off on him still, despite the fact that he’s openly dating someone else. It doesn’t seem like a great PR strategy for this film, but they’re trying to paint him as a sympathetic character I guess. It’s like WB doesn’t know yet if they’re going to keep him on and Ben is so ambivalent that he’s unsure too. At least he took Kevin Smith’s lead and is donating his Weinstein residuals.

Yesterday we reported on quotes Ben Affleck gave the Associated Press during his promotional duties for Justice League, out this week. Affleck said that he was ?looking at? his ?own behavior,? that he wanted to be ?part of the solution? to harassment and assault in Hollywood and that we needed to have more women in power. Also, I missed the fact that there is video of Affleck?s brief comments. That?s below and here are his full comments from the video.
It?s a terrible thing and it?s happening on a scale that I don?t think anybody except maybe women understood and recognized how terrible it was. It?s opening a lot of people?s eyes to this. For me that means also looking at my own behavior and addressing that and making sure that I?m part of the solution and making positive steps. We?re calling out other guys when we?re seeing behavior that?s inappropriate.
Two things need to happen. One more women need to be pushed to power so that women feel comfortable coming forward and having someone to report to. Two it can?t just be a woman?s issue. It?s got to be a men?s issue as well.
I would question why he hasn’t more fully acknowledged his own behavior toward women, but at least it’s a start. Another good start for Ben is the fact that he’s pledged to donate all residuals from his Weinstein films to charity. Remember when Ben?s buddy, director Kevin Smith, did this and how emotional and powerful his statement about it was? Here’s what Ben said, and note that he said it after the journalist asked about it.
Fox 5: Kevin Smith is going to be donating his future residuals of his movies that he made under Weinstein to the women in film. I just wanted to get your thoughts on that.
Affleck: It?s funny that you mention that because once Kevin suggested that I decided to do the same thing. Any further residuals I get from a Miramax or Weinstein movie will go either to Find or to RAINN. One is Film Independent and another is a women?s organization. I just don?t want to cash any more checks from the guy. It was Kevin?s idea and I hope it catches on. Some people can?t afford to give all their residuals away but even if you?re giving 10% that?s something.

Ben is not Kevin Smith, he?s not an open person and he?s not emotionally demonstrative. He wants to seem mysterious and not be too revealing or vulnerable but he gives himself away in how he tries to control his image. That said, it?s wonderful that he?s donating all the residuals from his Miramax films. Just look at all the film credits he has at Miramax, there are 17 films there including of course Good Will Hunting, Shakespeare in Love and Gone Baby Gone. It?s just interesting to me that he waited to announce this until he was promoting this film. It?s also interesting that the journalist brought it up first, but as I always say I don?t think there are unscheduled questions in interviews with Ben Affleck.

There are new photos of Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus out in LA this week, which you can see on The Daily Mail and TMZ’s site. (They?re exclusive to one agency and we can?t afford them frankly.) Lindsay is wearing a sheer black v-neck sleeveless shirt with a bra underneath. Visible bras and bras as tops are actually in this season, but I don?t have the nerve to try to pull that look off, so good for her. I?m not saying it?s a great look on her, she should have taken one look in the mirror and changed her shirt. I do enjoy seeing her fashion and style choices though because she’s so deliberately casual like she doesn?t want us to think she carefully styles herself. Maybe I’m making that assumption because I plan my outfits, but it also takes one to know one.
TMZ is reporting that Lindsay and Ben are house hunting in LA and that they looked at three mansions ranging in price from 12 to 18 million. Real question: would you date Ben Affleck for that lifestyle? Given what we’ve learned about him in the past few weeks especially, I would not. Imagine the ways he would manipulate, lie to and gaslight you. It’s not worth the trade off, although I admit it would be fun for a month tops, especially in the love bombing stage. Ben has an opening he needs to fill and Lindsay is stepping in. He?s been renting a home and now he?s ready to buy. I don?t think Lindsay will be spending more than half her time there though. She has a career in New York and that makes this relationship especially appealing to Ben.
Meanwhile InTouch is reporting that friends are still urging Affleck to go to inpatient rehab. I know that our coverage of their past story on this was controversial as many of you said that inpatient rehab is not a cure all and is not for everyone. We?ve seen Ben at outpatient treatment frequently over the past few weeks, almost as if he wants us to know he?s been going. According to InTouch friends say Affleck?s addictions are ?worse than ever? and that they?re still urging him to seek 30 days of inpatient treatment or more. Another source tells InTouch that Affleck is ?trying to figure out what treatment works for him.? That means he?s trying to do it his way and we?ve seen how that works. I do hope he achieves sobriety though. He is looking more sober lately I?ll give him that.
Given how much flack Matt Damon is getting for continually changing his story on Weinstein and generally sounding clueless, how much do you want to bet that Affleck, a man who has groped three or more women that we?ve heard of and seen, is happy he’s not on the press circuit right now? I bet WB is going to keep him off Justice League promotional duties, or at least severely restrict his press opportunities, for that reason. Remember that this dude is known for trying to censor the questions at press junkets. If Affleck does promote JL, Weinstein and groping questions will be off the table. Just send Gal Gadot out there. We love her and she’s already a huge box office draw. Affleck’s record is spotty.
Oh and Affleck was spotted out at church on Sunday because of course he was. He should just take that husky puppy for walks and dote on it in front of the paps. On Wednesday, Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus’s entire day out in New York City was chronicled by the paparazzi. They got coffee, they headed to her office together, they checked out of The Ritz (it’s unknown how long they stayed there) and then Ben brought Lindsay back to her apartment, where she was seen beaming at the paparazzi. I guess sources close to Lindsay were telling the truth when they said she was “comfortable getting a lot of attention.” US Magazine has a bunch of glowing quotes about how Ben is getting serious with Lindsay and how smart and interesting she is. It looks like this is a whole relationship rollout and that he’s committed to it. I’m surprised. Here’ US’s report:
On July 10, the Justice League actor treated his girlfriend of three months [sic], Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus, to a cheese pizza at Beach Street Cafe in L.A.?s Pacific Palisades neighborhood. ?He was really nice,? an employee says in the new issue of Us Weekly, noting Affleck has come into the shop before. ?And he tipped well!?
Credit the 37-year-old producer for his good spirits. The two-time Oscar winner, 44, has been ?casually dating? Shookus since April, says an Affleck insider, ?and he?s very happy with her.? (Per another source, the couple first got close about three years ago..)
One of the things that attracts the Live By Night actor most to Shookus, who has also produced 30 Rock and Adele Live in New York City, is their shared interests. ?Lindsay is an incredibly intelligent woman,? says another Affleck pal. ?They have really good conversations and just like hanging out with other.?

As I’ve said before, Lindsay just created a job vacancy, but good for them. Ben might manage to be faithful for a year or so. If kids come into the picture he’ll be miserable again soon enough. In Touch is reporting that Ben and Lindsay are “actively talking about having a baby” together. She’s 37, it could happen. According to In Touch, Jen is livid “She?s angry, and she has very good reason to be. She?s never been the type who?s about getting retribution, but Ben?s insensitive actions have changed her.” I mean this could all be BS (and Gossip Cop claims it is), but Ben took Lindsay to Jen’s favorite restaurant, a place he’s taken Jen for Valentine’s day, and got papped there. That was personal, that was a dig at Jen. Then Jen went there less than a week later, with Chelsea Handler no less. I buy that Jen is livid and I buy that Ben is promising Lindsay the world and talking about babies because that’s what narcissists do. Usually it doesn’t pan out this way for the other woman, but Lindsay was the right mistress at the right time. She’s exceptional right now because she’s meeting Ben’s needs. Wait until she expects him to meet hers. As many of you pointed out, he can’t even be bothered to carry even one of her bags! She’s ok with that, she’s the cool girl.
