Making the most of a beautiful day in Malibu, Nicollette Sheridan was spotted soaking in the sun yesterday afternoon (August 2).
Joined by her boyfriend Steve Pate, the “Desperate Housewives” hottie looked lovely in a sexy white two-piece swimsuit as she splashed in the ocean and played with her dog.
Speaking of her former ABC gig, “Desperate Housewives” director/writer Marc Cherry recently quashed rumors that Sheridan was cut from the cast due to infighting.
He explained, “Edie was fantastic for the show and I do not have a negative word to say about her. Her character was actually not supposed to have as long a run in the show but she was so good in the pilot I had to keep her in. Part of my job is knowing when the end has come for any character and it was just Edie’s time. There is no animosity and there was no falling out.”
However, Nicollette sounds like she may have resented the decision. “[Killing off Edie] was a risky decision that could have devastating ramifications. When the show started it was such a different beast. It was exciting and dangerous and funny and edgy and bizarre. It started feeling a little complacent, and that was very frustrating.”

Nicollette Sheridan talked about her shocking exit on Desperate Housewives to TV Guide Magazine and what she told is better than any episode of the show since the first season.
On who did her in: ?Somebody up there really wanted her dead. I think whoever Edie represented in [Housewives creator] Marc?s life was somebody he didn?t like. And he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction.?
On the show losing its magic: ?When the show started it was such a different beast. It was exciting and dangerous and funny and edgy and bizarre. It started feeling a little complacent, and that was very frustrating.?
On learning of Edie’s demise: ?I said, ‘OK, sayonara. It’s been a great ride. Thank you.”
So what does Marc Cherry have to say about letting his ego making a stupid decision for the show?
On choosing to cut Edie: ?Edie?s already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could.?
That is so not true, now that Gale Harold is back she could totally sleep with him! (I would!) Seriously Marc Cherry needs to get over himself because Nicollette is right, the show hasn’t been good since the beginning.
And you know way to go Nicollette Sheridan for telling it like it is and not BSing what happened! I can’t wait to see what else she says in the interview in the new TV Guide Magazine that is on stands this Thursday!

Never let it be said the women of ?Desperate Housewives? aren?t divas. After years of rumored feuds, catfights, and general nastiness on the set, departing cast member Nicollette Sheridan decided to go out with a really classy bang. Pissed that people didn?t make a big enough deal over her departure (they neglected to throw her a don?t-let-the-door-hit-you-in-the-ass party), she ransacked her trailer before leaving for the final time. According to the Enquirer, she brought some hired muscle to help her haul everything possible from the place.
“Desperate Housewives” diva Nicollette Sheridan didn’t leave behind much goodwill as she departed from the show. In fact, she didn’t leave much of anything behind!
Hurt at not being given a going-away party, the bold blonde practically stripped her set trailer of items on her last day working on the show.
Shortly after filming her final episode as Edie Britt, the 45-year-old star went back to the Universal lot accompanied by her personal contractor to help load almost EVERYTHING from her trailer into his truck, say sources.
“Nicollette removed everything but the kitchen sink!” a set insider told The Enquirer. “I think she was angry she wasn’t given a farewell party, so she decided to take her own parting gifts.”

The Enquirer doesn?t actually say what kinds of things Nicollete took. From their phrasing I?m assuming it?s everything that?s not bolted down. But since it?s a trailer ? and thus portable ? a lot of the stuff probably is secured. I wonder if she actually went so far as to take furniture or the mini fridge? Or if maybe she just hauled off a television and the dishes? Talk about petty and small.
I?ve decided that most actors and actresses are the emotional equivalent of teenagers. They?ve got a ridiculous sense of entitlement and are stuck in a perpetual high school. Few of them take it to Nicollette’s embarrassing extreme though.

Marc Cherry is really killing off Nicolette Sheridan on Desperate Housewives according to the National Enquirer!
When the gorgeous star leaves the show in a very special April episode, her character - devious real estate agent Edie Britt - will survive a harrowing car crash only to get zapped from a death-dealing surge from a live wire moments later, divulge sources.
"It will be one of the most bizarre character deaths in TV history," revealed a show insider.
Ironically, the demanding 45-year-old actress had been targeted for "capital punishment" by the show's producer for some time, disclosed the insider. "She's always clashed with series creator-executive producer Marc Cherry. "For some time, Marc and the writers have been planning a dramatic demise befitting Nicollette," the insider confided.
Dang that really sounds like Marc Cherry hates her, he really hates her.
For Nicollette if you are going to die on show, that is a good way to go! Leave them talking and remembering you!!!

Desperate Housewives' creator Marc Cherry opened up to TV Guide Magazine why he wrote off Nicollette Sheridan's Edie Britt.
"Nicollette Sheridan has immortalized Edie Britt from the first moment she stepped foot on Wisteria Lane as the deliciously seductive and strong neighbor. The creative decision to place this character in a perilous storyline was driven by the need to continue to keep the drama fresh. It has been our great pleasure to work with Nicollette – we are all going to miss her very much.”
Does anyone believe him that is really why they are letting her go? Even though they haven't been using her like she be used this season, there are a few other Housewives I would like to see go before her.

It looks like “Grey’s Anatomy” isn’t the only nighttime drama about to lose one of its stars - according to a report Nicollette Sheridan is planning on leaving “Desperate Housewives.”
The blonde beauty’s rep made a statement to press saying, “She had a great time on the show and is looking forward to her next project.”
