Uma Thurman covers the Fall/Winter issue of Vs magazine. I don’t know what she’s promoting. Uma doesn’t have any movies coming out this year, but she’s currently filming that mysterious, untitled restaurant movie with Bradley Cooper in London. Uma is photographed in this shoot by Ellen von Unwerth, whose distinct style flatters the heck out of offbeat Uma. This is a Faye Dunaway-inspired spread. Uma looks like a queen.
Did you know that we’re coming up on the 20th anniversary of Pulp Fiction? That ought to make you feel old. I was just rewatching Kill Bill: Vol. 1 last weekend with my teenager. It was her first time watching that movie, and she suddenly realized, “Quentin Tarantino sure puts a lot of barefoot people in his movies.” Much of the time, the barefoot person in question is Uma. These two have been close for decades now, and rumors have always swirled about their relationship. Are they friends, lovers, or both? They reportedly shared a villa in Cannes this year. Uma talks about the gossip. She also discusses her career break after giving birth to daughter Luna two years ago:
Are she & QT hitting it? “I was discussing [the rumors] with Mr. Tarantino last night. He was angry at me for not calling him back because, as he said: ‘According to the papers we are practically married!’ and he laughed hysterically. So our relationship is pretty much what it?s always been; people are just having fun with it.”
On dealing with media gossip: “I think media is part of the career of an actor. There is no career for an actor who is in some way not in the media, unless they are unsuccessful.”
Her career break: “I’ve kind of been on a hiatus for a while, and I just started getting back to work right now. I had a baby and I also wanted to take a step back, and so I did. I think it?s important to have this time to take a step back, analyze things and just breathe.”

What do you think — are Quentin and Uma doing it and playing dumb? Ethan Hawke suspected that Uma and QT may have been hitting it during Kill Bill. The two of them clearly adore each other. If I had to make a call, I’d say they are probably just really good friends. Quentin probably worships the ground Uma walks on, but I think she thinks of him like a brother. I also gather that QT tends to date women who are less powerful than he is (with the exception of Sofia Coppola, but that was ages ago). Uma is too much of an “equal” in status and stature. She’s not as powerful in Hollywood as QT is, but I feel like Quentin sees her that way. So nope. If Uma and Quentin ever started hitting it, the experience would probably break both of their hearts.

As I covered on Monday (most of you didn?t care), Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino were in Cannes to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pulp Fiction winning the Palme d?Or. John Travolta was there too, but it?s best we don?t speak of him or his gross facial hair. Anyway, the last days of Cannes were all about Uma and QT. They posed together on two red carpets, they presented awards at the final ceremony and they just looked adorable together. QT has always been very open about his adoration of Uma ? I believe he?s been in love with her since Pulp Fiction. Uma treats him like a friend and colleague and collaborator, but she?s always made sure to reiterate that their relationship isn?t about sex. But maybe that?s changed?
His muse is his at last! Twenty years after Quentin Tarantino directed Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, Us Weekly can confirm that the two have taken their relationship to the next level. Sources tell Us that the pair recently spent time together at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival in the South of France, where they even shared a villa.
“They had a thing and got together again recently,” one insider tells Us. “He’s loved her for years.” Both Thurman and Tarantino were presenters at the closing ceremony of the star-studded film fest on Saturday, May 24. The willowy blonde star, 44, wearing a floor-length canary custom Atelier Versace couture gown, walked arm-in-arm on the red carpet with the Oscar-winning director, 51.
“There has always been an attraction,” another source explains. “She has indulged from time to time, and that’s how their relationship has always worked.”
Over the years, the two appeared to share a strong bond of friendship offscreen: Thurman, after all, famously let Tarantino sip from her Louboutin heel in 2010, while poking fun at his rumored foot fetish! So why now?
Timing has largely been an issue. Thurman was married to Ethan Hawke for six years before divorcing in 2004. Together, the stars share daughter Maya, 16, and son Levon, 12. In 2007, Thurman got engaged to hedge-fund magnate Arpad “Arki” Busson, with whom she shares 22-month-old daughter Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson. As reported by Us last month, Thurman and Busson ended their tumultuous on-and-off again relationship.
Finding solace in Tarantino after her split, Thurman appeared happier than ever as she cozied up beside him at Cannes. “They talk often,” the second source says. “They go out to lunch in NYC when he’s around. He always tries to find a role for her, or have her involved somehow.”
Tarantino, for his part, has previously been linked to stars like Kathy Griffin, Mira Sorvino, and even fellow director Sofia Coppola. He was most recently linked to costume designer Courtney Hoffman, though that relationship recently ended as well.

A commenter pointed this out in the other thread: Uma was wearing very toe-cleavage-y shoes for her Cannes appearances too. Probably for QT. The man does love feet. Anyway, do you think Uma and QT are hitting it at long last? Perhaps. I think it?s probably the kind of affair that will either last a month or ten years, nothing in between. I also think that QT loves her and has for decades, and that for Uma, this is just an ego boost. Oh well. I hope they have fun.

They formed a unique bond working on films like ?Pulp Fiction? and ?Kill Bill: Volumes 1 and 2? and Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino are reportedly in the beginning stages of a romantic relationship.
Following some quality time together at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival (where they supposedly shared a villa), the ?Gattica? gal and the ?Inglourious Basterds? director have morphed their friendship into a full-on love affair.
An insider snitched, "They had a thing and got together again recently. He's loved her for years.
There has always been an attraction. She has indulged from time to time, and that's how their relationship has always worked."
And following her recent split with fianc Arpad Busson, Uma was happy to find comfort in her longtime pal. "They talk often. They go out to lunch in NYC when he's around. He always tries to find a role for her, or have her involved somehow."

I?m about to date myself, but here goes: I?m old enough to remember just how exciting it was when Pulp Fiction first came out in the theaters. I was a teenager but I couldn?t drive yet, and I think it was the first time I had ever gone to a midnight screening. I went with friends and I was obsessed with it. I quoted from it all the time. I went to see it in the theaters several times, and I bought the VHS (YES I SAID IT) as soon as it came out. That was 20 years ago. Seriously.
Part of why Pulp Fiction became such a cultural phenomenon was because it had such amazing word-of-mouth. You just knew ? before you even saw it ? that a completely different kind of filmmaker was at work here. The word-of-mouth all started at Cannes. Quentin Tarantino debuted Pulp Fiction at Cannes, where it went on to win the Palme d?Or (the grand prize). So at this this year?s Cannes Film Festival, the old gang reunited to celebrate the 20th anniversary. Quentin Taratino, Uma Thurman and John Travolta all came out not just for the Clouds of Sils Maria premiere, but for the final Cannes ceremony as well. I?m including photos of both events. I could honestly look at photos of Uma and QT for hours. I love their friendship/partnership. It just makes me happy. I love the way he loves her.
A fashion note ? Uma wore the canary yellow Atelier Versace gown to the Sils Maria premiere. To the final ceremony, she wore that horrible, tacky, poorly constructed Marchesa gown. That sh-t is beneath her. Uma wore Chopard jewels with both looks.

After an on and off relationship that has spanned seven years, Uma Thurman and Arpad Busson have called off their engagement for a second time.
The "Kill Bill" beauty first began dating the hedge fund manager back in 2007, only to call off their engagement in 2009. They got engaged once more in 2011 and have a 21 month old daughter.
The duo were slated to attend the Room to Grow Gala together last week, however, Uma showed up solo and sans ring.
Neither camp has commented on the split, but a source told Us Weekly, "It's true."

Uma Thurman has been on-and-off with Arpad ?Arki? Busson for years and years. Busson was also Elle Macpherson?s baby-daddy, and he first got with Uma? lord, I don?t even know. It?s been a while in celebrity circles. I want to say 2007-ish. But Arki and Uma?s relationship always seemed rather tumultuous ? she?s based in NYC, he has business interests all over Europe. She?s a divorced mom, he?s a playboy millionaire. She?s a working actress (sort of) and he?s probably got a lady in every city. But a few years ago, Uma got knocked up and she and Arki announced their engagement again. Their daughter Luna was born the summer of 2012, and after that? still no wedding. He?s just not the marrying kind, I guess. Anyway, Arki and Uma have split up again:
Actress Uma Thurman and her multi-millionaire fiance Arki Busson have split up, I can reveal. The New York-based Kill Bill star and hedge-fund boss Arki have struggled to make their long-distance relationship work and have called off their engagement.
?Uma and Arki were due to attend a gala together on April 8, but Uma showed up without her engagement ring or her fiance,? says a source. ?Arki was scheduled to attend and it seemed clear there was only one reason why he didn?t show ? because he and Uma are no longer an item.?
Another source adds: ?Uma lives in New York while Arki lives in London. He has been out and about without Uma since October when he went to a Halloween party alone. They have been at one or two events together, like Harvey Weinstein?s pre-Bafta party in February, but on that occasion they looked miserable.?
This is the second time Uma, 43, has broken off an engagement with French-born tycoon since they began dating in 2007. In 2009 she returned an eight-carat diamond ring to him a year after he first proposed. She took him back in 2011, and by 2012 they were engaged again, with Uma pregnant with their first child, Rosalind. She has not been seen without her engagement ring since ? until now.
Uma has two children from her earlier marriage to actor Ethan Hawke. Arki, 51, has two sons from a relationship with supermodel Elle Macpherson. Arki?s spokesman was unavailable for comment, while a spokesman for Uma declined to comment.

Considering how many times they?ve split and gotten back together and considering that there?s a baby girl in the mix now too, I?m going out on a limb and saying that they?ll probably get back together at some point. Maybe their engagement will even be back ?on.? But I think maybe Uma needs to realize that Arki is never going to want to get married? It seems that way, doesn?t it? And if that?s the case, so be it. Maybe Uma just wants some stability in her life at this point.

Setting time aside in her busy schedule to take care of her charitable efforts, Uma Thurman attended the 2014 Room to Grow Gala in New York City on Tuesday (April 8).
Getting all dressed up for the swanky affair, the "Kill Bill" star wore a white dress, tweed jacket and gold sandals as she smiled for the shutterbugs before heading inside the Capitale-hosted evening.
Uma, who has been a long time supporter of the organization, is participating again as one of this year's gala chairs.
Room to Grow is based in New York City and Boston and aims to help enrich the first three years of lives of babies born into poverty.

Uma Thurman wore a basic navy Atelier Versace dress to the BAFTAs last night. This dress was a disappointment but better than many of Uma’s recent choices. I liked the little matching jacket (with a train!) that Uma wore when she entered the scene. She owned that jacket like a boss. The way she walked showed off some serious leg. Then Uma removed the outer layer, and the dress fell apart. That sounds mean, right?
Overall, this is not a bad dress, but the shape is quite dull. From the front view and without the jacket, there’s nothing about this look that takes my breath away. Poor Uma. I watched Kill Bill: Vol. 1 over the weekend (which is not even a good example of Uma’s prettiness), and she was breathtaking in that film. Now she can’t move her face. Something nice: that diamond necklace is amazing.
Olga Kurylenko looked like a total knockout in Burberry. I’m so glad she’s able to quickly shed the stigma of being a female sidekick of Tom Cruise. Olga’s dress is a mixed bag. Slinky on the bottom, sophisticated on top, and weird in the middle. I could have done without the peek-a-boo tummy feature, but the contrast of the black fabric with the red-and-orange scales on the bottom makes for major drama. Her hair is to die for, and she is so gorgeous.
Gillian Anderson chose a vintage Balmain Couture. Or rather, the Balmain Couture chose Gillian. This is a whole lotta dress for such a tiny woman. The color palette (very nautical) is interesting, and the back tie looks like a ship sail. Up close, the fabric looks like crepe paper. Gillian could have smouldered but instead, she’s going boating.
Josephine de la Baume wore a royal blue Marios Schwab dress with sheer sleeves. I’m okay on this dress but it feels more appropriate for a premiere than an awards show. For what it’s worth, the runway version was almost completely sheer.
