Despite the rumors floating around the gossip mill (thanks to another Star magazine mishap), Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have not tied the knot.
The Good Charlotte frontman set out to set the record straight after receiving all kinds of messages congratulating him on the supposed nuptials.
And Madden took to his blog to clear things up. He wrote, “I keep getting emails from old friends and family asking me about a wedding. NO we didn’t get married.”
During an interview with Larry King, Nicole Richie explained, “I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that’s what you do. We’re going to do it when the time’s right.”
Joel added, “We’re really focused on our family, and we feel like — we already feel kind of married, you know? Our family system that we have down, we feel like this is a real family and marriage, one day it will come.”

Nicole Richie took to PEOPLE to show off her latest experiment in parenting, Sparrow James Midnight Madden. She says she couldn’t be happier and that blah blah blah. Who cares. What you really want to see is how a kid produced by Nicole Richie and Joel Madden turned out. The answer: kind of creepy. It looks like he’s planning something sinister. This baby is not to be trusted. Behind the drool and baby throw-up lies an evil mastermind. You can already see him tenting his fingers and muttering, “Egggcellent,” under his breath.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden debuted their beautiful new son Sparrow James Midnight Madden on the cover of People. Siblings often look the same as babies (duh statement of the day right there) but Sparrow and Harlow don?t look all that similar to me. Here?s Nicole?s People cover with Harlow a year and a half ago. She had bigger eyes (though she?s a little older in her People cover) than Sparrow. They?re both cute as a bug?s ear ? and talking about babies is really the best time to use that phrase.
According to People, Nicole and Joel are incredibly happy, and Sparrow and Harlow are bonding wonderfully.
Six weeks after welcoming their first son, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden ? along with their 21-month-old daughter Harlow ? are showing off the latest addition to their family, Sparrow James Midnight Madden.
“I couldn’t be happier,” Richie tells PEOPLE. “The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I’m right where I belong.”
In an interview at their home in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, Richie, 28, and Madden, 30, her boyfriend and front man of the band Good Charlotte, say they are deprived of sleep, but grateful their daughter Harlow is now fawning over a baby brother.
“I’m glad I had a girl before I had a boy,” says Richie. “She just loves him so much.” Adds the children’s proud papa, “She’s very gentle with him.”

As with all unusual celebrity baby names, there?s a wide range of opinions on Sparrow. I like his name, were it not for the ?Midnight.? I think just one standout name is best, otherwise you end up with a Pilot Inspektor situation. There have been rumors floating around since Monday that Joel and Nicole either have secretly gotten married or are about to. According to Radar, they?ve taken out a marriage license, though they certainly haven?t made any announcement. And Nicole?s father Lionel Richie made a comment about welcoming Joel into the family. They certainly haven?t rushed to the altar, but it would be sweet if they did.

As his family continues to expand (they had their second child earlier this year) Joel Madden says he’s loving being a dad.
At last night’s Noble Awards, the Good Charlotte frontman told press, “I love kids, I love working with kids, I love being around kids.”
And it sounds like Joel’s daughter Harlow Winter has been enjoying having little brother Sparrow James Midnight around to play with.
Madden explained, “She loves it. She’s so happy, she’s just psyched. She totally gets it . It fit in perfectly there- hasn’t been a hitch.”

Enjoying a night out on the red carpet, Nicole Richie stepped out for the 1st Annual Noble Humanitarian Awards in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (October 18).
Joined by babydaddy Joel Madden and his brother Benji, the former “Simple Life” starlet and her dates for the night helped to honor outstanding charities and celebrity activism.
The outing follows recent reports claiming that Miss Richie and her rocker beau recently tied the knot, although Nicole wasn’t wearing any new jewelry to help validate the rumors.
As for snapping back into shape following the birth of her second child, Sparrow, channeled Halle Berry for inspiration, with a source telling NW Magazine, “Nicole would look at Halle’s photo and see how she was able to get her figure back in a matter of weeks and use that as an incentive.”

Making her first appearance since landing in the hospital after a car accident, Nicole Richie went to Jerry’s for breakfast with her daughter Harlow in Los Angeles on Sunday (October 11).
Clearly unhappy to find paparazzi awaiting her exit, the former “Simple Life” star toted her little girl while exchanging words with the shutterbugs on the way to her car.
As for the accident, Miss Richie was driving with a passenger this past week when she was she struck by two photographers driving in one vehicle behind her.
Following the smash-up, the driver was arrested for driving without a license and for a misdemeanor traffic violation.

Nicole Richie was rear-ended by paparazzi yesterday afternoon while on her way to… eh, who really cares. The New York Daily News says
“Ms. Richie was driving with a passenger around 2 p.m. when she was struck by two photographers driving in one vehicle behind her,” said the Beverly Hills Police. “Her car sustained moderate damage. No paramedics were called to the scene.”
Richie, 28, reportedly complained of pain, however opted to skip going to the hospital to see her own private doctors. Her two children were not in the vehicle.
The unidentified driver, who rear-ended the new mom, was arrested and booked for driving without a license.
The real joke in all this is the dumbass paparazzi, who lost his car and possibly his illegal immigrant status under the misguided notion that people actually care about seeing pictures of Nicole fucking Richie. Just like how one might say I am under the misguided notion that you actually want to read about what happens to Nicole fucking Richie. Well-played, readers! Well-played.

Nicole Richie was in a fender bender yesterday afternoon in Beverly Hills in which her Range Rover was rear ended by a photographer. The mother of two, who just had her second baby on September 9, was driving with another unnamed adult passenger. Luckily none of her children were in the car at the time. The freelance photographer tailing Richie was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license and police sources quoted by People say that it’s “likely [to] be a misdemeanor traffic violation, and the photographer’s vehicle will be towed.” There was another photographer in the car with him at the time.
Richie reportedly told police that she was in pain following the accident, and was photographed crying - presumably by either the guy who hit her or his buddy. No paramedics were called. While People reports that it’s not known if she went to the hospital, photo agency Fame has pictures of her leaving her house for Cedars Sinai shortly afterwards with her boyfriend, Joel Madden. (We are not publishing those, but are including photos of the guy who rear ended her.)
This makes me mad not only because the creep must have been following Nicole closely, but also because he clearly profited from selling the photos of the accident that he caused - while driving without a license! Did he hit her on purpose in order to get better photos? This reminds me of something George Clooney once said about the paparazzi - “It?s high-speed chases and they?re competing with each other. They?re not trying to catch me doing something stupid, they?re trying to create me doing something stupid.”
Around the time Britney had her breakdown in early 2008 there was a lot of talk about passing additional laws to put limits on paparazzi in LA County. From what I can tell, the police were more aggressive toward breaking up throngs of photographers using existing laws but no new laws were passed at the time.
There was an earlier law passed in California in 2005 that was meant to protect against the very thing that Clooney was rallying against - photographers causing a disturbance in order to get more valuable photos. Paparazzi are liable for three times the amount of normal civil damages in the case of “assault committed with the intent to capture any type of visual image, sound recording, or other physical impression of the plaintiff.” Maybe that law will apply in this case, although the fact that the guy was driving without a license makes it seem as if he wouldn’t have deliberately rear ended Richie, and was probably just following too closely.

Enjoying a night out on the town, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden ventured over to The Roxy in Los Angeles on Saturday (September 26).
Not far removed from giving birth to baby Sparrow, Miss Richie looked back in her pre-pregnancy slim form as she shared a laugh with her man before taking in the Selena Gomez concert.
And Nic’s quick pregnancy snapback has other celebs a bit jealous, as Katherine Heigl recently told press: “I hate dieting. I hate the whole thing!”
The “Grey’s Anatomy” actress then goes on to say: “My own insecurity makes me want to look like Nicole Richie. But I’m 5ft 9ins, and have substantial breasts, hips and everything else, so it’s never going to happen.”
