She’s known for her keen fashion sense, so it comes as no surprise that Nicole Richie has been asked to serve as a guest judge in the upcoming season of “Project Runway.”
The 28-year-old will be joining host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn along with Nina Garcia and Michael Kors for the show’s seventh season premiere on January 14th at 10 pm EST on Lifetime.
“Project Runway” executive producer, Sara Rea says, “Nicole is a fabulous guest judge. She has strong opinions and gives clear and specific constructive criticism to the designers.”
And as previously reported by Gossip Center, Richie is also developing a potential ABC sitcom in which she would star and produce.

Opting for a night of basketball action, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden took to their courtside seats at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (December 29).
With Joel sporting a shirt honoring the recent death of Avenged Sevenfold drummer James Sullivan, the cute couple dutifully cheered on the Lakers to a 124-118 win over the Golden State Warriors.
Looking very much in love, Richie and Madden laughed and held one another throughout the duration of the basketball matchup.
Meanwhile, the twosome will be among the many heading to Las Vegas for the New Year’s festivities - as they’ll be co-hosting a party at Lavo on Thursday night (December 31).

Teaming up for a post-holiday retail outing, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were all smiles as they ventured around Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon (December 26).
The former “Simple Life” star and her Good Charlotte rocker beau smiled and laughed amongst one another, picking up a few purchases at the James Perse boutique.
Of the shopping session, Miss Richie tweeted, “Looking for an obnoxiously glitterific dress to wear on New Years Eve at @lavolasvegas. Who’s coming?”
Meanwhile, it sounds as if Nicole and family had quite the enjoyable Christmas, as she wrote to her Twitter followers, “Christmas Eve, a VERY big deal at our house. friends, family, presents, gotta start prepping NOW. Here we go....”
Dishing out a holiday rhyme a short while later, Nicole added, “Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg! Bat mobile lost his wheel and Joker got away, HAY!”

Getting her newly brunette locks touched up, Nicole Richie paid a weekend visit to Andy Lecompte salon in West Hollywood on Saturday (December 19).
The much-deserved salon pampering session comes as the former “Simple Life” star has been juggling a new baby at home and launching her House of Harlow jewelry collection.
Sure to cause a bit of a stir, onlookers were quick to point out that Miss Richie wasn’t wearing her wedding ring from husband Joel Madden.
Despite the lack of bling, Nicole was spotted out the previous day spending quality time with Joel’s non-famous brother, Josh.

Stocking up for the holidays, Nicole Richie stepped out for a retail romp in Hollywood, California on Wednesday afternoon (December 16).
The former “Simple Life” star dutifully browsed the selections at Pottery Barn Kids and Gap as she made her way around the popular Grove shopping center.
And with the holiday season upon us, Miss Richie says she’ll be picking up plenty of eggnog in preparation of the wintertime festivities.
She tells, “I don’t have a lot of traditions. I have gotten a new Christmas ornament every year so I will probably do that. I’m a big eggnog drinker. Not the kind with alcohol in it, but the regular kind. I thought that everyone drinks eggnog, but as I’m getting older, I’m learning that people actually think it’s really gross, but I love it, so I will definitely have some eggnog!”

Here is Nicole Richie debuting her new look over the weekend at a promotional event for her House of Harlow jewelry collection (which is selling really well). I have to say, this is the prettiest I think Nicole has ever been. I love the rich, dark hue of her hair now, and I love the cut - it really compliments her face. I also love that she?s not dieting and trying to loose her baby weight after Sparrow - not that she even looks like she just had a baby in September (son Sparrow), but she does look curvy and pretty, which is lovely. Do brunettes have more fun?
On Saturday, Nicole Richie debuted a darker do at the launch of the House of Harlow 1960 Holiday Collection at Bloomingdale’s in Costa Mesa, Calif.
“I did it about a week-and-a-half ago,” the mother-of-two, 28, told Usmagazine.com when asked about her new look. “I change my hair color all the time, and I hadn’t done it in a few years. With the babies, I just really hadn’t had time. I’m so used to having that change all the time, and I hadn’t done it in about two years, so I was just ready and sick of being blonde! I was ready for a change!”
Richie said she is gearing up for the holidays with beau Joel Madden and their two kids, Harlow (who turns 2 next month) and 3-month-old Sparrow.
Any family traditions?

Sigh? I?ve grown to love this girl and her family. I think Nicole should be held up as an example to all of the Lindsay Lohans, Miley Cyruses, Courtney Loves and Pamela Andersons of the world that you can change. You don?t have to be a sketchy famewh-re for life, even if you?ve been one for a while. Plus, Nicole is showing those women that you look better when you?re not trying to hard to get attention - and I?m so happy Nicole has gotten rid of that ugly dirty-blonde mess!

Making the most of the holiday season, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spotted at a Christmas party in North Hollywood yesterday (December 13).
Joined by their daughter Harlow Winter, the happy couple made their exit to find a gaggle of shutterbugs eagerly waiting for them.
The day before, Nicole was in full-on promotional mode as she paid a visit to Bloomingdales department store in Costa Mesa.
She did a meet and greet with fans from 12 noon til 2pm to celebrate her House of Harlow 1960 holiday jewelry collection, sporting a newly browned coif.

Showing off a freshly dyed brunette coif, Nicole Richie was spotted out at Bloomingdales in Costa Mesa, California on Saturday afternoon (December 12).
Looking adorable just a few months removed from giving birth to her second child, the former “Simple Life” star was out to promote her House of Harlow 1960 holiday jewelry collection.
Taking to Twitter to keep her fans up to date, Miss Richie wrote of the press outing: “On my way to Bloomingdales @ South Coast Plaza. So excited to meet all of you!! Bring your cameras!! 12-2pm.”
After posing for pictures and signing autographs for fans, the 28-year-old excitedly tweeted: “Whew! That was fun. Thanks to everyone who came out today in this terrible weather to hang out with me! I wouldn’t have.”
Not forgetting to mention her sexy new hairdo, Nicole added, “OH! & P.S. I went brunette. I feel smarter already.”

We heard last week that Nicole Richie would produce and star in a new sitcom for ABC. That’s fair enough, we’ve already seen that Richie can be funny, albeit by being rude and mean, on her scripted reality show with Paris Hilton, “The Simple Life.” Maybe Richie has changed since becoming a mother and is ready to show that she’s a gentler person who can find humor in everyday life. We have yet to see if she can act, though.
There’s a new report in the National Enquirer that suggests that Richie might be sinking her big chance at sitcom stardom before it’s begun. She’s said to be besties with Ashlee Simpson and to be offering Simpson a major role on the show. Ashlee can’t act her way out of a paper bag and this is a huge mistake on Richie’s part. I have a hard time sitting through Ashlee’s scenes on Melrose Place and I love that trashy soap opera.
Nicole Richie has a generous Christmas gift for BFF Ashlee Simpson-Wentz - a co-starring role on her ABC sitcom…
“Nicole promised Ashlee that writers would craft a central role for her,” revealed the source. The two women and their children spend a lot of time socializing together, and Nicole decided she’d like to work with her close friend.
Nicole’s generous offer could not have come at a better time for Ashlee.
The 25 year-old former pop star is still being devastated over being uncermoniously axed from “Melrose Place” just two months into the season. She made her Broadway debut on Nov. 30, taking on the role of Roxie Hart in a revival of “Chicago,” but her planned 10-week-run ends in February.
Again, have these writers not seen the Melrose Place reboot? Ashlee’s character is being killed off for a good reason. The girl thinks that acting involves widening her eyes and scrunching up her mouth. I hope that someone tells Richie that she’ll have to have a real actress as co-star instead of a friend. If not, this series is surely doomed. Why doesn’t Ashlee go back to making mediocre pop music? I thought she was trying to pass herself off as a singer, not an actress. Musical theater is also a decent route for her, but not acting.

The Hollywood socialite, Nicole Richie, 28, is developing an ABC sitcom in which she would both star and produce. Variety says the show will use a single camera, and the concept was Richie’s idea.Daisy Gardner (?Californication?) is due to write it, while Warren Bell (?According to Jim?) will executive produce and supervise the pilot script, reports the trade paper. ?The story revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships,? Richie writes on her Web site. ?She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman?s role is: modern vs. traditional.?The mother of two says she?ll use what she sees in her real life to create the show. ?Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life. It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman?s role should be in this era,? she writes.?I?ve taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!). We?re still in the very early stages and I can?t wait to share more with you soon!?
