Ever since Sex and the City became a cultural phenomenon (back around season 2, or roughly nine years ago), it?s been an open secret that Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker don?t really care for each other. Despite some people wanting it to be some kind of petty catfight, I tend to think they simply aren?t all that friendly, but are able to maintain a professional, working relationship. The relationship has had its challenges of course - when SJP became a producer on the show, some said Kim resented the control SJP had. Some also claimed that Kim held out for the biggest paychecks for the SATC films. None of that may be true, or parts of it, or all of it. Still, the rumors persist, and Kim and SJP have had to address them.
Recently, in her Elle Magazine cover story, SJP defended her relationship with Kim once again, saying, ?I don’t think anybody wants to believe that I love Kim. I adore her. I wouldn’t have done the movie without her. Didn’t and wouldn’t.? But sources are now telling In Touch Weekly that there?s still some snottiness going around - this time about how the two actresses are aging:
Although reports of feuding between Kim Cattrall, 53, and Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, were often denied, there was no mistaking in the first SATC movie that Kim?s character, Samantha, was imposed with a real attack on aging: Samantha celebrated her 50th birthday - she grew fat and even split with her hunky younger love interest.
The movie?s sequel looks no different: In one scene, an embarrassed Samantha shows up wearing the same outfit as teen queen Miley Cyrus.
Setsiders say the candid photos from the set prove there is a real age war erupting: SJP looks much older than her younger character, Carrie, and older than Samantha, so this attempt of not letting Samantha shine is proving the rumors have life.
Ironically, Kim has no desire to look like the younger Sarah Jessica. Samantha?s been known for her body, not her face, and she?s not afraid to show it!

Part of the reason I?ve always loved Kim (but not always her character Samantha) is because Kim seems like the most gifted physical comedienne of the group. The scripts for the television show and the films always have Kim doing a lot of physical comedy work (much more than the other actresses), and she always nails it brilliantly. If the physical comedy weren?t also so sexual, I think Kim would get a lot more credit as comedic actress. My point: I don?t think Kim minds the physical comedy aspect of the Samantha role, nor would she mind playing off the running gags that Samantha is, in fact, much older than the other girls. It?s how the character has always been written, and it?s one of Kim?s many strengthes as an actress. As for the whole ?SJP looks older? thing - well? I hate to say it, but Kim just seems to be aging with more grace than SJP. Maybe it?s good genes, maybe she takes care of herself, whatever.

I’m not a gay man or a bitter divorcee desperately clinging to what’s left of my rapidly-waning sexuality, so I don’t really give a shit about the Sex and the City sequel. But there are a lot of you out there that are super-excited about the movie, which includes this “surprise” cameo by Miley Cyrus. Pacific Coast News said
“Kim Cattrall and Miley Cyrus shoot a scene for “Sex and the City 2? where they turn up for a movie premiere in the same outfit! The premiere was for a movie called “Heart of the Desert”, which appeared to star Samantha’s (Kim Cattrall) boyfriend Smith (Jason Lewis). The dresses were by Matthew Williamson.”
When asked for comment on her makeup, Miley reportedly said, “It’s simple. We, uh, kill the Batman.” Why so serious, Miley?

Tween queen Miley Cyrus is appearing on the “Sex and the City” film sequel. The 17-year-old sensation was spotted on the film’s set in New York City on Friday.Cyrus, who has been vocal in wanting to join a “younger, cleaner” version of the hit show-turned-film, was seen filming a cameo role with Kim Cattrall, who plays the foxy Samantha Jones.She was spotted wearing a similar dress as Samantha at a premiere for the latter’s toy-boy lover’s new film.They both wore a short silver dress with sequins, complimented with studded belt and knee-high boots. Cyrus had a studded dog collar and elbow-length gloves, while Cattrall donned an oversized necklace.The duo shot their scene at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York with Sarah Jessica Parker

Acting as a possible spoiler, Kim Cattrall turned up on the set of “Sex and the City 2” in New York City clad in a wedding dress on Friday (September 18).
Looking as if the Samantha Jones actress might just be ready to walk down the aisle, Kim strolled along past a crowd of spectators in a sleeveless white gown paired with Ugg boots.
Having broken up with Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis) at the end of the first movie, sources tell that Samantha’s love interest turns back up in the much-awaited sequel – possibly being the man to tie the knot with Cattrall’s character.
“Yes, Jason is back!” an insider tells. “Smith has become a famous movie star, so we’ll see how that plays out and how that affects their relationship.”

In case you hadn?t heard, the Sex and the City movie is filming all over the place. Can?t you just hear Sarah Jessica Parker?s girlish scream and she runs in her four-inch Monolos? Oh, yes. And for this film, no one seems to be concerned about spoilers are revealing whatever meager plotlines or anything like that. Every time I see a picture from the set (?the set? = Manhattan), I just think ?Thank God I?m not going to have to pay to see this movie.?
Most of these pictures have been all over the place, and many of you have probably seen them, but here they are all in one place! It seems we?re going to be treated to some kind of Sex and the City: Totally ?80s flashback sequence. I?ve said it before, but my favorite has always been Miranda. I?m getting a kick out of her ?80s blowout, shoulder pads and Working Girl gear. And is that a bowl cut I spy? She looks amazing, but oh, no. Honey, just no. Also - is it weird that 1980s Charlotte (Kristen Davis) does not look any different? Her kind of prim-and-proper yuppie style really doesn?t look weird - she ends up looking classic.
I could do without Sarah Jessica Parker?s Madonna-esque girdle-as-outerwear look, but I?m kind of digging the flash of flannel. It?s like Carrie Bradshaw knew grunge was coming, and she wanted to give Seattle (the other ?sexy city?) a shout-out. Carrie is such a trendsetter.
Of course, the best ?80s transformation goes to Kim Cattrall. I?m not even sure what this look is. Debbie Harry meets Joey Ramone meets Vivenne Westwood? Is it supposed to be punk? Is it supposed to be glam? Is it supposed to be this hideous? Believe it or not, I remember parts of the 1980s - my age was in the single digits, but I don?t remember women?s fashion being this horrible. Where?s the old-school Gianni Versace? Where are the parachute pants? Can a girl get some jelly bracelets?

Kim Cattrall has always been a fan of the younger men, in film, television and life. After her last divorce, fifty-something Kim took up with a twenty-something lover, chef Alan Wyse. Just another cougar love story, right? Not so much. Kim and Alan have been getting serious - serious enough that they are living together. And now Alan wants to take the next step. No, not marriage. He wants to adopt with Kim. She’s not having any of it, though. According to Star Magazine, Alan?s biological clock is ticking, and he?s close to giving Kim an ultimatum:

The 52-year-old vixen and her live-in lover, chef Alan Wyse, 29, are definitely not on the same page when it comes to cooking up a family.
“Alan is complaining that his biological clock is ticking. He’s having paternal pangs and wants a baby,” a source close to Kim tells Star.
“When he suggested they sign up with an adoption agency, Kim said, ‘No way!’” Kim is past her mothering years and completely satisfied with their life as is, says the source.
“But for Alan, it’s the natural progression of things to want to build a family with the woman he loves. It’s not going to happen, though. Kim made it clear from day one that babies were never going to be on her agenda.”

One of the reasons I?ve always like Kim is that she never paid lip-service to a desire for motherhood. Whenever she was asked nosy questions about babies, she always shot them down quickly and efficiently. I admired her for it, because women in the public eye often feel the need to soften their images with incessant talk of babies. Kim always stood out that way. So why would her young lover suddenly think that she was down with being maternal in any way, shape or form? If Kim was always honest with the press, you can bet she was honest in her relationships. If this Alan Wyse really feels that strongly about his biological clock, he should leave. But he shouldn?t try to act like he was surprised.

Good news for fans of haggard old women who F their way through New York. You’re getting a sequel!
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are all coming back for another installment of Sex and the City. And they’re getting raises. Big ones.
Regarding the sequel, Parker is hoping for a story “worthy of an audience.” Nixon wants the exact opposite and suggests the crew go on a “mad cap adventure.” Probably in Brazil or Mexico or any other country where it’s plausible to stumble into the middle of an ongoing orgy or something equally provocative.
Whatever they decide to do, just, please, stay away from the hi-def cameras and consider axing the Blu-Ray release. 1080p is not your friend. Maybe try filming in YouTube quality?
