She?s built quite the impressive body of work over the years, and Natalie Portman's new movie ?The Other Woman? has released a new trailer.
The ?V for Vendetta? babe plays a young mistress-turned-wife who has to deal with the death of her baby and the stresses of becoming a stepmom.

Yesterday, Natalie Portman announced her engagement and her pregnancy to People Magazine, shocking many, many people. I was shocked, I will admit. I hadn?t predicted that one, and I honestly thought Natalie?s ballerina boyfriend Benjamin Millepied was just another dude in a long line of Natalie?s conquests. However, once I heard her announcement, my first thought was about Natalie?s Oscar campaign, and how smart this little announcement was. I mean, the awards season is just about to go full throttle for the next two months, the Golden Globes are in a few weeks (Natalie is nominated), and the Oscar nominations come just days later (Natalie is expected to be a front-runner, and a shoo-in for a nomination). So will Benjamin, her fianc and baby-daddy, be her date for every event? Will Natalie give endless red carpet interviews about her bun in the oven, while glowing winningly? Or will the parade of surly bitchfaces commence once again, because Natalie is so ?private?? I still don?t know? but just hours after Natalie confirmed her pregnancy and engagement, she released another statement to Entertainment Weekly:
Just a few hours after news of Natalie Portman?s engagement and pregnancy was announced, the Black Swan star has released this statement exclusively to EW: ?I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience.? Nice. A statement referencing her privacy, that she issued to a media outlet that deals almost entirely with the industry, rather than sheer celebrity gossip. So? I?m not expecting Natalie and Benjamin to be all glowing and handsy and ?look at us? on every awards show red carpet. I think Natalie is going to try to have her cake and eat it too - she will bring Benjamin as her date for several events (but not every event), and they might pose on some red carpets, but there will be no gushing red carpet interviews. Because she?s so private. But she?ll still manage to work the pregnancy and engagement angle into an advantage for the Oscar campaign. It will be ingenious, and I look forward to it.
Oh, and Natalie sure stole any residual attention away from Mila Kunis, didn’t she? Right?

Making a doubly surprising announcement earlier in the day, Natalie Portman is said to be "indescribably happy" over her engagement/baby news.
The "V for Vendetta" star confirmed the joyous news that she plans to wed fiance Benjamin Millepied while also expecting their first child together in 2011.
Offering a statement to ET, Natalie gushed, "I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience."
The 29-year-old actress met her soon-to-be hubby during production on the set of "Black Swan" - a film which finds itself among the top nominated movies of 2010.

Holy hell! This came out of nowhere. According to People Magazine, Natalie Portman is engaged to ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied, and they are expecting their first child together. There is no word on how far along Natalie is, but I would guess she?s probably at the end of her first trimester, because I haven?t really noticed a ?bump? at all. I did notice her boobs though - her boobs were looking bigger, and perhaps I mistook her parade of bitchfaces for something sinister, when really she was just pukey and gassy. Poor Nat! Anyway, Natalie and Benjamin met when they worked together on Black Swan - he?s a professional ballet dancer, and he helped Natalie train for her role. It was widely thought that Natalie had ?homewrecked? Benjamin from his live-in girlfriend, although there was some other gossip just recently that Benjamin is kind of obsessed with social climbing.
Natalie Portman and choreographer Benjamin Millepied are engaged and expecting their first child, her reps confirm to PEOPLE exclusively.
The couple met during the production of Black Swan. Portman’s performance in the film has earned her nominations for a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award.
The actress, 29, will next be seen in the romantic comedy, No Strings Attached, costarring Ashton Kutcher.
This will be the first child for the actress who is due in 2011.

Okay, I?m obviously a horrible person, because my first thought was ?Wow, Natalie really wants to win that Oscar.? I mean, how great is this for Natalie?s Oscar campaign? Babies and an engagement! Yesterday, in a drug-addled haze (Sudafed and Dayquil), I took my mother to see Black Swan. It was her pick - she chose Portman and ballerinas over her pretty princess, Cinderella/Amy Adams in The Fighter. Perhaps it was just the drugs (true story), but Black Swan was a seriously good/trippy movie to watch while under the influence. If I had been stone cold sober, however, I wonder if I would have enjoyed as much. As it happened, the theatre was half-full, and I was the only one laughing at what I thought were funny jokes. Whoops!
Anyway, I don?t want this review to be spoiler-filled, and by now, you hopefully know the basics of the plot, what little of it there is. If you want a summary of the film, go here. If you want spoilers, go here. If you want reviews by a critic you respect more than me (I don?t mind!), go here. I?m just going to talk about my general thoughts, complaints and praise for the film. Since you guys seemed to like my review of The Tourist, I thought I?d do another review!
So we know that Natalie Portman, in her lead role as Nina, is considered the leading contender for this year?s Best Actress Oscar. Do I think she deserves it? Well? maybe, maybe not. I wouldn?t be upset if Natalie won, but I wouldn?t be overjoyed either. I do think Natalie was acting her ass off throughout the film. She transformed her body to the point where she just seemed like a quivering, nervous, taut muscle just about to snap. Even her neck muscles were acting. Natalie also surprised and impressed me with her voice work in the film - she was able to raise her voice just a touch higher to seem even younger, more child-like, more vulnerable. Her ballet was quite good too, not that I?m an expert. But much like the character of Nina, I often thought Natalie seemed weighed down with the technical aspects of the dance. When she performed, she always looked like she was about to cry. Was that on purpose?
My main problem with Natalie?s character was that it seemed rather one-note? yes, the bitch is crazy. What else do you have, you know? Half-way through the film, I realized that I had stopped caring about Nina?s injuries/hallucinations/anxiety/tears/trauma/drama. It was all the same after a while. And that?s the fault of the script, not Portman. Portman did the best she could with the material.
As for the other actors? well, I was kind of in heaven. Vincent Cassel took another one-note character and made it really interesting. Cassel played the director of the company, and he was at times sexy, smarmy, charming, nasty, and kind. My favorite part of the whole film was when he danced with Natalie? sigh. He?s a gorgeous dancer.
Barbara Hershey looked like ten kinds of hell, and she was very good too. Winona Ryder?s part (as the ousted prima ballerina Beth) was smaller than I was expecting, but Winona popped on-screen, big-time. There was one scene that gave me major Winona nostalgia - she?s playing sad, catty and drunk, and can just see that Winona has still got it, you know? I loved it. As for Mila Kunis? well, she was very, very good. But I?m kind of drawing back my thoughts that she?ll get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Yes, she was good, but the role wasn?t that showy, and? I don?t know, I?m just not expecting her to get nominated.
So, would I recommend this film? Yes, but prepare yourself. There are many gross-out moments, and some really good performances. But it?s not the best film of the year or anything.

I don?t know when Vogue is going to release their January cover interview and photo shoot, so I just thought I?d bring you the cover now. Natalie Portman, shot by Peter Lindbergh. The dress is J. Mendel. Natalie is the January cover girl to promote Black Swan, the film that will likely get her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, if not the award. It?s surprising to me that so many people are calling it Natalie?s year to win - earlier this year, there was some talk of the Best Actress contenders being Annette Bening, Julianne Moore and Hilary Swank. But now most critics are ready to hand it off to Natalie? she would be one of the youngest Best Actress winners, at the age of 29. Hilary Swank was younger than that? as was Gwyneth.
As for the cover shot? Natalie?s face is so weird lately. She?s always been breathtakingly beautiful in my opinion, but lately we?ve been plagued with Natalie?s spectacular bitchface. I would almost hope the cover shot would be another bitchface, but in this shot, she looks like she?s about to burst into tears. What the hell?
Also - some commenters were asking/theorizing about Natalie?s maybe-plastic surgery?? Some of you think she?s had a nose job, but I don?t see it. I think that?s always been her nose. However, has Natalie always had those lips? Why are they all of a sudden really Lohan-esque?

It was announced earlier this year that Natalie Portman was working on a deal to become the ?face? of a perfume from the house of Dior. Now we know which one - Miss Dior Cherie. I can?t say that I?ve ever smelled it, but as a rule, I tend to avoid all Dior perfumes because I find them so heavy. This one sounds like it could be one of their lighter scents, though. And what?s more important is that Natalie is now very, very closely associated with a luxury brand. Dior produced many of the costumes for Black Swan. Natalie has worn mostly Dior while promoting Black Swan. Natalie has began attending events for Dior. Not bad, Dior. The new ads will premiere in the new year, but Natalie recently gave an interview to Allure about her gig:
Allure: When do you wear perfume?
NP: On special occasions. On Valentine’s Day. If it’s a big night out with someone I love. It’s like putting on nice jewelry. I think it makes every woman feel more feminine.
Allure: What’s the one product you use every day?
NP: Jolle Ciocco Sensitive Cleansing Milk. It smells delicious; it’s really natural, and it protects my skin.
Allure: What’s a look you love on others but don’t think you can pull off yourself?
NP: I’m slowly being eased into red lipstick. I think it looks really chic on other people, but I always felt a bit silly with it on.
Allure: What’s a beauty trend you’d never try in a million years?
NP: Plastic surgery. I feel like everyone is trying to look like the same person, and it usually makes people look older than they are.
Allure: Growing up in front of the camera, did you develop any beauty hang-ups?
NP: Having a mole on my cheek was the biggest thing. When I did photo shoots, they would Photoshop it out. No one ever said anything to my face, but I felt like I was being told that it was ugly. Finally, I had to say, “No! This is part of me.” I’m not a model. I’m being photographed because of who I am?and that includes the mole!
Allure: When you’re working on a film, how do you relax?
NP: Acupuncture on my pressure points keeps me balanced and calms my nerves.
Allure: What’s your typical workout?
NP: Three or four times a week, I’ll swim or use the elliptical. Swimming is very meditative. I can’t hear anything under the water; it’s just me and my silence for 45 minutes to an hour. And it really gets every part of my body at once.
Allure: Who are your beauty icons?
NP: I love Audrey Hepburn, of course, with her cat eyes and thick eyebrows. And I love Lauren Hutton in the ’70s with those curls and her big eyes and her beautiful teeth!

Not bad, Dior. You got yourself an A-list shill who is a heavy contender for Best Actress - Natalie will probably wear Dior on every major awards red carpet. But here?s the real question: will Natalie wear her bitchface for every event? Because I don?t see why a luxury brand would want to associate themselves with looking and feeling surly.
Sidenote: I am allowing for the idea that Natalie has a ?natural bitchface? - meaning that her face just looks like that when she?s not smiling. I have a natural bitchface too! People always think I?m pissy when I?m not even pulling a face.

Stepping out for a swanky evening, Natalie Portman was spotted at a Dior cocktail party to celebrate the reopening of the 57th Street boutique in New York City last night (December 8).
The ?Garden State? babe looked lovely in a Dior dress teamed with a Dior handbag and Dior high heels as she mingled with designer John Galliano.
Additionally, Natalie has been named as the new face of Dior, with her first campaign to be for Miss Dior Cherie.
Miss Portman will be featured in a print advertisement by Tim Walker as well as a commercial shot by ?Lost in Translation? director Sofia Coppola.

Last night was the big gala premiere for Black Swan in New York. I know it seems like there has already been a ton of ?premieres? for this particular film, but I think a lot of them were screenings and film festival premieres and such. But last night was a big deal - all of the cast were assembled, and Natalie Portman had her pose-hard bitchface at the ready. Here?s a question, for all of us out here in the cheap seats: Why is Natalie looking so crabby and bitchy during this film?s promotion? She?s considered one of the leading candidates for the Best Actress Oscar, and she will likely be the centerpiece of a larger Black Swan Oscar push. Why look so ?over it? and nasty? Anyway, Natalie and her bitchface were in Dior, a cosponsor for the premiere. One thing I?ll give her - the bitch can wear the hell out of some red lipstick. Right?
Meanwhile, I guess Mila Kunis got a memo that only the ?star? of the film could wear Dior, because she donned a lovely cream Elie Saab. I really like this dress - in fact, I?m pretty much in love with Mila?s whole wardrobe throughout the Black Swan promotional tour. Where Natalie looks surly, uncomfortable and at times occasion-inappropriate, Mila has been nailing every look and every occasion.
And of course, my Vincent Cassel. His face is just so beautiful (to me).
Winona Ryder in all-black. I?m surprised she didn?t go with another strapless, tutu-esque gown. I give her points for wearing a suit. But she?s giving me a really hardcore goth flashback from my youth.
