Following Simon Cowell's announcement Monday (January 11) that he would be leaving "American Idol" at the end of the season to bring his hit U.K. talent show "The X Factor" to the U.S., rumors began swirling that former "Idol" judge Paula Abdul might join him at the new show's judges' table.
When reached for comment, Abdul's rep told MTV News, "Just spoke with Paula. When the time is right we can have a conversation, and Paula is grateful to you for reaching out."

Out supporting her family, Paula Abdul joined up with cousin Tara Riceberg outside Riceberg’s new Beverly Hills store “Tweak 99” on Thursday (December 10).
With the former “American Idol” judge looking stylish in a black ensemble with thigh high boots, she and Miss Riceberg posed for pictures outside of the cozy boutique specializing in selling affordable, yet unique gifts, all priced at $99 or less.
Meanwhile, Miss Abdul recently chatted with OK! magazine about her experiences on “American Idol,” telling, “I am a big fan of the show. You can lift up a rock and find a gem. These kids would never have a chance to be seen. It’s the greatest show on television all around the world.”
As for Simon Cowell, Paula explains, “He’s the bully brother! He’s annoying sometimes. You have to reel him in. ‘Come on back, Simon. Come on back.’ It’s great because Kara finally sees what it’s like for me in my own private hell. She gets it now.”

Out for some Friday afternoon errands, Paula Abdul was spotted out in Beverly Hills yesterday (November 27).
The ex “American Idol” judge looked cute in black jeans, a white top and a funky necklace accessory while walking to her car carrying candy and a DVD.
In other news, it seems her recent weight loss has some concerned that it’s post-Idol stress, but Abdul reassured press when asked, saying, “First and foremost I’ve had the ability to have time to have a schedule that allows me to take care of myself and dance and workout.”
Of “American Idol” Paula will always hold a special place in her heart for the show. She tells press, “It’s very surreal , and very exciting .....and it makes me feel proud to have been a part of something that’s so phenomenal and has allowed bona-fide superstars to emerge.”

Paula Abdul is no longer a part of “American Idol” and that kind of sucks. Paula added her very unique two cents on every episode, but that oddness is now gone. Moving on. Instead, she is now looking a little bit odd up top. Is it just me, or is something a little out of whack up there?
Source: It is unfortunate that Paula Abdul got fired from American Idol because she was the only thing worth watching on the show. I?d go over to friend?s houses and put the shit on mute until the Paula had her time to speak and some of the craziest drugged up shit would come out of her mouth all while showing off her great big tits.

She’s always up for a good cause, and last night (October 26) Paula Abdul attended the 3rd Annual Rock the Kasbah fundraiser event.
The former “American Idol” judge was all smiles as she made her arrival, sporting a cleavage-baring gown with a sequined neckline.
The Rock the Kasbah event was hosted by Sir Richard and Eve Branson and raised money for the Eve Branson Foundation.
And since she left “American Idol,” Paula seems to be branching out into a brand new career phase. She told press, “I’ve got one, two...six things that I’m working on. Very exciting and time-consuming and jet-lagging and everything. It’s great.”

Halfway through Paula Abdul's hosting duties on Thursday night's "VH1 Divas" — her first prime-time gig since leaving "American Idol" — the former pop hitmaker staged an amusing send-up of Ellen DeGeneres, who's about to replace her on "Idol."
Strutting down the aisle at the Howard Gilman Opera House at the Brooklyn Academy of Music to the tune of Pink's "Get the Party Started," Abdul donned an Ellen-esque short blond wig and mimicked the comedian's well-known entrances on her syndicated talk show. Paula had no doubt been studying up on Ellen's dance moves, because she nailed 'em all as she made her way onto the stage.

Once there, Abdul was greeted by a talk-show-style set of two oversize chairs and a coffee table. The host plopped onto one of the chairs, threw her legs over one said and said, "Why are you all staring at me? Can't a girl try out a new job?"
She then got up and turned slightly serious. "All kidding aside, nothing but love, Ellen," she said. "I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on the new gig! And you've got to call me if you have any Simon [Cowell] problems, because I know him best."
It was the funniest moment in an evening packed with a range of musical performances. Miley Cyrus sang alongside Sheryl Crow, Kelly Clarkson teamed up with Melissa Etheridge, and Jennifer Hudson stood by Stevie Wonder as he played piano and they traded lyrics on "All in Love Is Fair."

Taking over the hosting duties of the VH1 Divas Live concert last night (September 17), Paula Abdul poked a little fun at her “American Idol” replacement Ellen DeGeneres.
During a segment on the show, Abdul sported a blonde wig along with a dark suit and sneakers (in Ellen’s typical fashion) and joked, “Why are you all staring at me? Can’t a girl try out for a new job?”
Of course, Paula was joking in good fun, stating, “All kidding aside, [I have] nothing but love for Ellen, and I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your new gig.”
Offering a helping hand to the fledgling “Idol” judge, Abdul added, “And call me! You gotta call me if you have any Simon problems, ‘cause you know, I know him best.”

Getting ready for her VH1 Divas duties, Paula Abdul was spotted leaving her hotel in New York City on Thursday afternoon (September 17).
The former “American Idol” judge pranced about on what was a rainy day in the Big Apple, smiling for paparazzi before hopping into her chauffeured SUV.
As for “American Idol,” Paula recently told KISS FM Phoenix radio show Johnjay and Rich of the hiring of Ellen DeGeneres as a replacement, “It’s just going to be a different show.”
Asked if she’s had second thoughts about her decision to leave the talent show, Miss Abdul replied, “I think that happened during the time I was making that very difficult decision.”

As “American Idol” continues prepping for their new season, ex-judge Paula Abdul has voiced her support for her replacement Ellen DeGeneres.
The “Straight Up” songstress took to her Twitter page, saying, “I think Ellen will b a gr8 judge on Idol. She is wildly funny, talented, and I wish her the best of luck!”
And it sounds like Paula isn’t the only “Idol” personality looking forward to seeing what Ms. DeGeneres will bring to the table.
Kara DioGuardi enthused, “I’m a huge Ellen DeGeneres fan. I think she’s going to bring so much to the show. She’s somebody who loves music. She’s positive. She loves kids. She’s somebody who has watched the show from the beginning, knows everything there is to know about “American Idol.” And I think ultimately it’s going to be a great new energy.”

Since she won’t be returning to “American Idol,” Paula Abdul may be taking her career in a totally different direction.
The 47-year-old says one of her post-“Idol” projects may include a talk show. Talking to TV Guide she said, “I definitely want to do a talk show because it would be different.”
Elaborating on the potential new show, Paula explains, “It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance.”
Abdul - who recently filmed two episodes of Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva” and will host VH1’s “Divas Live” on Sept. 17 – says her post-“Idol” life “Has been incredible. I feel like I’m having the best time of my life right now.”
