These are photos of Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner at the 23rd annual “Beat the Odds Awards” for the Children’s Defense Fund. I’m throwing in some other photos from last night’s events at the bottom too. The Beat The Odds Awards honor young adults who have succeeded despite hardship, and grants them college scholarships and opportunities. There are some really nice videos on YouTube about the honorees. I just watched this video about a kid from the Bronx who grew up homeless with a single mom and who had to take care of his little brother. If you can watch that video and not cry your eyes out, you’re a stronger person than I am.
Ok, on to superficial stuff. Reese is showing off her new bob haircut (just like Jennifer Aniston and Reese’s good friend, Chelsea Handler.) I think it suits her. She’s also in a navy dress with a modern print and contemporary styling. I don’t have a designer ID for Reese’s dress, but I love it. I would wear that. Reese was at this event last year. She looks great, I really like her fashion and styling.
Jennifer Garner was in white lace and black Valentino. Like Reese, she’s dressed somewhat conservatively (for Hollywood) and in a dress that looks just right for the holidays. I love it! I also think her new bangs are cute, not a lot of women can pull them off but they’re the right length and style.
I’m adding some other ladies here at the end so we have more photos to look at. Here’s one of my favorite actresses, Emmy Rossum, in Oscar de la Renta. She’s at a benefit screening for August: Osage County. I think this dress is too fussy for Emmy. The print looks old fashioned and coupled with the fit it comes off as dowdy. With a different print, it could be cute and retro.
Emmy is with an actor named Jake McDorman. If you watch Shameless, you’ll know him as her boss on the show. She used to date the guy who played a cop on Shameless, Tyler Jacob Moore, but they broke up this summer. I wonder if things were awkward on set and if there was drama between Emmy’s suitors.
Here’s Christina Ricci at the opening night of the musical What’s It All About? Bacharach Reimagined. I’m including her because I love this look. She’s in a black and red windowpane print dress paired with a black jacket, black tights and boots. She looks comfortable and casual.

Turning heads as she got her morning java jolt, Reese Witherspoon stopped by Starbucks before visiting the chiropractor in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday (December 4).
The "Legally Blonde" star looked cute in a brown leather jacket, purple scarf, and blue skinnies as she continued about her day.
Nowadays, the 37-year-old actress is finding inspiration in the subject of her new movie, "Wild," posting quotes from Cheryl Strayed on her Twitter page.
Based on a true story, the film follows a woman who treks the Pacific Northwest alone for 1,100 miles after a recent tragedy in her life.

Looking energized as she gets her morning off to a healthy start, Reese Witherspoon headed to Burn 60 gym in Brentwood, California on Tuesday (December 3).
The "Legally Blonde" star sported a blue zip-up sweatshirt, black cropped tights, and bright purple sneaker as she gave a smile and headed back to her vehicle.
Over the holiday weekend, the 37-year-old actress decided to make a small change in appearance for the holiday season.
Usually keeping her blonde locks pretty lengthy, Reese got a cute, just-above-the-shoulders haircut that gives her face a fresh new look.

Restocking after feeding the family a Thanksgiving feast, Reese Witherspoon headed to Whole Foods in Santa Monica, California on Saturday (November 30).
The "Sweet Home Alabama" star gave a friendly smile in a navy blue sweater over a green plaid shirt, dark skinnies, and black ankle boots as she made her way inside.
Prior to her grocery grab, the 37-year-old actress snagged lunch at Ivy at the Shore along with hubby Jim Toth.
As for her acting career, filming is currently underway on Reese's latest movie, "Wild," based on the true story of a woman's 1,100 solo hike on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Making the most of the beautiful weather, Reese Witherspoon treated her daughter Ava and son Tennessee to a picnic in San Francisco, California on Saturday (November 9).
The ?Sweet Home Alabama? star took her kiddos to a local park and frolicked in the grassy field while husband Jim Toth looked on.
Perhaps Reese & Co. were celebrating the recent sale of their ranch in Ojai, California following two years on the market.
Initially listed at $10 million, Witherspoon cut the asking price to just $6 million and a buyer made an accepted offer of $5.9 million.
A rep from Trulia told press, ?This Ojai escape is an ideal second home for Hollywood-types. It's a quick drive from Beverly Hills and the surrounding areas, but it's like being in a different world. At Reese's home, it's all about peace and quiet and escaping the busy life of an A-lister. It's cosy but spacious.?

The "Legally Blonde" beauty keep it casually chic as she wore a textile sweater, white shirt, blue jeans and ankle brown boots as she made her through the busy terminal to board her flight.
Meanwhile, Witherspoon continues to work on the production of her upcoming film "Wild."
Slated to hit next theaters next summer, "Wild" revolves around a story about one woman's struggles and strength as she made a 1,100-mile solo hike after a recent disaster.
Starring alongside Reese are Charles Baker, Gaby Hoffmann and Kevin Rankin.

Gearing up for an adventure, Reese Witherspoon stepped onto the set of her upcoming film "Wild" in Portland, Oregon on Tuesday (October 22).
The "Legally Blonde" starlet sported shorts, boots and a graphic tee while toting an oversized backpack for the long hike through the wilderness.
Per the synopsis, "Wild" is a story about "one woman's 1,100-mile solo hike undertaken as a way to recover from a recent catastrophe."
Starring along side Reese are Gaby Hoffman, Charles Baker, and Kevin Rankin. "Wild" is slated to hit theaters in 2014.

Let?s start with Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein (CK was the sponsor of the event)? say what you will about our American Citizen, Standing On American Ground, but she has been looking so amazing lately. Seriously. There?s barely a moment when I look at photos of Reese in candid shots or red carpet shots where she doesn?t look completely gorgeous. All that liquor agrees with her.
Jessica Pare in Pink Calvin Klein. This is a great dress in general, and it looks especially good on Jessica. I?m not even saying that as a fan! She looks really good here. I think she should wear these kinds of clean, minimalist styles more often.
I get the feeling that Emilia Clarke is so green when it comes to dressing for red carpets. This Calvin Klein dress might have been cute on the rack, but a good stylist would have rejected it quickly because the color washes her out on camera.
I?m fine with Chelsea Handler?s (baggy) tuxedo (it?s a little Ellen DeGeneres, but it?s okay), but she should have paired it with black heels and a black cami.
Marion Cotillard in Dior Spring 2014. Love the dress, love the simple styling, hate the shoes.
Melissa McCarthy in black & white Calvin Klein, with big hair. Considering she usually looks too pageant-y, I think this is great look for her. I don?t even mind the weird hair.
While I think Reese Witherspoon looked wonderful, my best dressed girl is Naomie Harris. Seriously, just look at her in this Calvin Klein. Gorgeous.
