Receiving one of Germany's most prized entertainment awards, Salma Hayek attended the 2012 BAMBI awards at the Stadthalle Duesseldorf in Deusseldorf, Germany on Thursday (November 22).
The "Grown Ups" star looked stunning in a black long-sleeve cleavage-baring dress with gold trim as she held the shiny award for International Film close to her.
Aside from Salma, British pop group One Direction was also on hand for the main event where they not only took home the award for Favorite International Artist, but they also hit the stage to perform their tune, "Live While We're Young."
Tweeting out his appreciation, member Harry Styles wrote, "Wow! Just won favourite international artist at the bambis in dusseldorf , thank you Germany."
Called "Europe's most famous media award," BAMBI pays homage to the heroes of our time who have touched and inspired us with their actions, talents and visions.
Since 1948, the awards have honored those whose abilities have dazzled and inspired the people of Germany.

While promoting her new movie "Here Comes the Boom," Salma Hayek stopped at "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Friday.
The 46-year-old actress wore a sexy sleeveless, orange knee-length dress and flesh-toned heels as she fixed the host's necktie.
Recently, the "Frida" star talked about performing with her real-life pal Kevin James in "Here Comes the Boom."
She admitted being especially nervous when she had to smooch the funnyman, explaining, "Kevin is a good friend of mine. We both met when we were married and our children are best friends since they were one. There was also constant playdates going back and forth, organizing with (Kevin?s wife) Steffiana and being friends with her. It?s completely different once you become friends and you?re playing every day on the set and you go like 'I have to kiss (Kevin's daughter) Shea?s father? What if she comes to the set?'"
Continuing, Hayek added, "It became a completely strange thing and by the way, Steffiana was there. I did not enjoy kissing my friend?s husband in the movie. It was strange. They didn?t care, but I just didn?t want the kids to walk in and become traumatized."

Salma Hayek wore a strapless spring 2013 Stella McCartney dress to the premiere of “Here Comes the Boom,” and it’s a good thing she looks so hot, or I’d be forced to point out that her Bottega Veneta clutch and Brian Atwood peep-toe pumps don’t make up for the fact that she’s starring in a movie with Adam Sandler and Kevin James. It’s as though “Grown Ups” taught her nothing at all.
Get Salma’s red carpet look with this dress from Tibi, these shoes from Michael Kors, and this clutch from Diane von Furstenberg.

I have to stay, I’m a little disappointed in Salma Hayek here. For a movie called Here Comes the Boom, you would think she’d bring a bit more boom to the red carpet than this. Maybe I’ve been spoiled, but Salma must just be trying to stay relatively covered up to drum up anticipation. I’m

| Salma Hayek in black Valentino for NYC premiere: lovely or unflattering? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are some new photos of Salma Hayek at last night?s NYC premiere of Here Comes The Boom, that by-the-book, dumb-looking Kevin James comedy. Salma is ?in? with that group now, having done a few films with the Adam Sandler/Kevin James low-brow comedy crowd. I guess we?re supposed to be impressed that Sandler and James hire such a quality actress to play ?the girl/the wife? parts in their movies? But all I can think about is how low-brow all of this is.
Anyway, this is just a fashion post. I looked through Salma?s recent interviews to see if there were any asinine quotes that I?ve missed, and I hadn?t missed anything. So at least we don?t have another Goopy Salma interview to pour through. We just get to talk about her Valentino dress/outfit. With the blazer, I think this is an unfortunate and unflattering look. But without the blazer? it?s okay. Not great. The dress looks kind of cheap and stiff, but Salma looks pretty in general. I still can?t believe she considers herself to be ?at the limit of chubbiness.? Ugh.
Do you notice something weird? I noticed something weird. Salma supports her husband at all of the fashion events he has to go to, but Francois-Henri rarely shows up at her premieres. Hm.
Here?s the trailer for Here Comes the Boom. Total mess.

Hitting theaters nationwide on Friday, "Here Comes the Boom" held its New York City premiere at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square on Tuesday (October 9).
Directed by Frank Coraci, the comedy follows a high school biology teacher, played by Kevin James, who looks to become a mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise funds to help his poverty-stricken school. Costarring with the funny man are Salma Hayek and Henry Winkler as well as a handful of MMA stars.
As writer, co-producer, and star, the 47-year-old comedian considers the film a labor of love. In an interview with ESPN, he talked about combining his love of Mixed Martial Arts and teaching.
He explained, "[W]hat got interesting to me was that these professional fighters aren?t just these gladiators that are in the ring. They?re family people on the outside, they?re just like you and me, they just have a really odd job. But they?re the most incredibly trained athletes, and they?re all friends among each other in the community. They hug afterwards and they?re friends. To see what these guys go through and what inspires them to actually do that, to get into a cage and fight like that, risking their lives, was what was interesting to me. I wanted to make a movie about that and try to tie it into the teaching aspect of it, because I had some very cool teachers back in my past. We definitely tried to keep it as real as possible."

The next time I have one of those “ugh, in eight years I’m gonna be 40? moments, maybe I’ll just look at these pictures of 46-year-old Salma Hayek in Harper’s Bazaar instead of downing an entire bottle of chardonnay at at three in the afternoon. That doesn’t always work out so well for the kiddos.
A black corset dress from Bottega Venata is upwards of two grand, but this knockoff from Mason & Michelle is less than two hundred.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it?s time for yet another Salma Hayek interview. Salma has been on a tear lately, saying Goopy crap all over the place. You know what?s funny to me? Salma did some bare-bones promotion for Savages in America, but she did like half a dozen major magazine interviews in support of the film in Europe. Was that the idea all along? Let Blake Lively have the American media and Salma would take the European media? Perhaps. Anyway, Salma covers the UK edition of Harper?s Bazaar. The photos are pretty enough? I don?t really care for the one where she?s clasping her boobs, but whatever. Some highlights from the interview (just take a deep breath and count to ten before you read this):
She calls herself chubby again: ?The worst thing you can be in Hollywood is a woman and over 40. On top of that, I have an accent, am dyslexic, short and chubby. You name it I have it, but I am here. I must be the luckiest girl in the world to be working?.
She loves to eat and she won?t Botox: ?I am on the limit of chubbiness because I love my food and my wine. It?s not the best for fashion, but it?s good for my mood. I am happy because I eat. I am 46; I will not have Botox. You know why (I don?t need to do it)? Because I eat! I eat the fat, I eat the vegetables, I eat everything. If you exercise too much and you don?t eat enough, it takes its toll on the skin. Everything starts ageing. If you don?t eat carbs, you slow your metabolism down. And you know what? You look miserable. The truth is I just don?t have the drive to be the prettiest and the thinnest. I can be happy for other people for their beauty. Learn to be happy for others and you can never run out of happiness.?
She thinks Madonna is a body-image role model: ?Do I envy Madonna?s body? Yes. Do I thank God that she has it? Yes! If you?re fifty something and you look like Madonna, and you put a lifetime?s work in the way you look, then flash it to the world!?
Criticizing the slim, un-curvy image of beauty: ?In recent years, we have had to fight against our genetic nature to look like little boys, to be socially accepted as beautiful. It used to be that a young girl couldn?t wait to grow up and take the shape of a woman. Now our goal is regression, to look younger and like a child. There has not been enough diversity of boy shape in fashion?.
[Via The Mail]
When she?s talking about ?we have had to fight against our genetic nature to look like little boys,? I believe the ?we? she?s using is for ?Latinas? not ?all women?. Or it could be the ?royal we? as in the Queen saying, ?We are not amused.? As for her continuing insistence that she is ?chubby?? ENOUGH. She is not. It?s an insult to chubby women when Salma takes up our chubby mantle. YOU ARE NOT ONE OF US. Stop moving the chubby goalpost, Salma.

This ^^ is a photo of Salma Hayek outside of Stella McCartney?s runway show during Paris Fashion Week today. I know the fashionista know-it-alls will yell at me for not knowing this, but how is that Stella gets to show during Paris Fashion Week and not London Fashion Week? I don?t get it. Is her line owned by Francois-Henri Pinault in some way? Eh.
Anyway, continuing with our ongoing series, ?Salma Hayek is pretty much like Goop these days, only somehow WORSE,? she has a new-ish interview with Stylist. You can read the full thing here (it?s very, very long), and here are some highlights:
Coming to Hollywood from Mexico: ?They thought I was crazy. You have to remember that at that time, there was no-one working in Hollywood who was Mexican. It was like a taboo. Isn?t that crazy? You could not get a job if you were Mexican. The people I was auditioning for would make fun of Mexico and frankly, would make fun of me too, like, ?What are you doing here?? It was humiliating. I felt, ?How stupid of them not to give someone a chance because they are from another country.? I was shocked. I hadn?t experienced discrimination before, but even if I had, it would still be stupid. It doesn?t change how stupid it is, discrimination, whether you have experienced it before or for the first time. It doesn?t justify it ? it?s just dumb.
Typecasting Latinas: ?Many times it made me want to give up. Like anybody in any job, you confront mediocrity ? and I am sure every woman can identify with what I am saying ? there are so many times when the choices of people in charge are silly, yet you are helpless. For example, I had many situations where they would say, ?That was brilliant. If you were American, you would definitely have got the job. If you could get rid of your accent, you would be perfect.? That?s silly. If I moved you, if this character would gain something by my interpretation, what do you care? I would understand if the role was for a Norwegian model ? I?m wrong for the part. But if the role is a waitress, sometimes they would say, ?It?s not a Mexican waitress.? So they would say ?no?. I think I changed it. I think Jennifer [Lopez], myself and Penlope [Cruz] changed it. That generation. We had it tough. Now it?s a lot easier.
Being broke, wearing Chanel: ?At some point, here in LA, I went completely broke, and I remember looking at my designer clothes, they were so expensive ? I was very much into Chanel at the time ? but I knew I couldn?t pay the rent with them. I would go to auditions in Chanel too but they didn?t get me parts or pay the rent. I remember realising how useless the designer clothes were. I needed a job ? it was hard.?
Advice to women: ?You have to believe in yourself. You have to take care of yourself, work for yourself, believe in yourself, and also be patient with yourself. Learn when not to push too hard, and give yourself a break. Make sure that what you want is what you want, and not what society expects of you, or how you can impress the idiots. It?s what you want.?
How she defines feminism: ?It means being proud of being a woman, and [having] love, respect and admiration and the belief in our strong capacities. I don?t think we are the same, women and men. We?re different. But I don?t think we are less than men. There are more women than men in the world ? ask any single woman! So it is shocking that men are in more positions of power.?
American violence, Mexican violence: ?[Violence] is a reality. I do wish there were other realities shown about my country, but the redemption with this is that at least it shows that the Americans are just as involved. There are tens of thousands of deaths in Mexico, but do you know where they get the arms? They all come from America, and no-one talks about it. It?s disturbing to the point where you can?t sleep. It?s even more disturbing when you think that it actually happens. Have you heard about the city of Jurez? The women that disappear? Over 600 women, between the ages of 16 and 24, cut into pieces, mutilated, burned. This has been happening for a long time.?
Playing a character (in Savages) who is trapped in her house: ?She?s in jail. A little bit like fame. I forget I?m famous. I live in France and the French are too cool to display any kind of excitement if you are famous, especially where I live, so I completely forget. I have it good.?
Where she?s happiest: ?I am happiest with my family in the country, whether it?s my ranch or the country house close to Paris. I like the outdoors, I love gardens, plants, trees. I?ll go for a hike, or take a run in the park. I like the simplicity and the complexity of nature, and the beauty. I love the different seasons, because I grew up by the beach where it was always hot. Or I really enjoy a good football match. I adore it. I know I should be saying, ?I love my shopping sprees,? but that?s what I like. I love soccer. It?s something that ignites my fire. I become very, very passionate and, at the same time, very emotional about it. I?m tough, but it?s one of the few things that can make me cry.?
[From Stylist]
I tend to think Salma plays a little fast and loose with the details of how ?broke? she was when she first came to Hollywood. She comes from a wealthy family, she was already a famous actress in Mexico, and while her family might not have been supporting her financially in LA, SHE STILL HAD CHANEL CLOTHES. I?m sorry, but any story about poverty which includes the phrase ?I was very much into Chanel at the time? IS NOT A STORY ABOUT POVERTY. It’s like saying, “I was once so poor, I was only living on the interest from my investments.” #richbitchproblems

Here are some new photos of Salma Hayek at the Balenciaga show in Paris today ? the same show that an unwashed-dishrag-looking Kristen Stewart attended. Salma was there with her billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault, who is the CEO of PPR, which is the firm that owns Balenciaga. I might have missed a few steps in there, but basically Pinault owns this sh-t and my point remains the same: Salma Hayek could and should be wearing much better clothes. WTF is this outfit? She looks like someone made her a peplum out of a trash bag. And look at that skirt from behind ? so, so unflattering. Ridiculous.
Meanwhile, I have a few more quotes from that stupid More Magazine Canada interview that Salma did. We?ve had quotes from this piece all week ? I don?t get why these quotes are being released in this slow drip-drip of Goopiness, but here are the latest (I?m including some of ones we?ve already covered for context):
Salma says she?s as ‘the limit of chubbiness at all times’, adding: ‘I’m not a skinny girl. Everybody has a weakness — mine is food’, she insisted: ‘If you love food and you love red wine and they put you in France, you’re in a good place and you?re in a bad place at the same time.’
This is particularly bad news for Salma as she is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, 50, with whom she has a four-year-old daughter called Valentina.
To allow herself to indulge guilt-free, Salma said she steps on the scale daily, adding: ‘You have to weigh yourself every day, and you have to have an alarm number. When you get to that number, you have to start putting it in reverse.’
The star said she says she keeps her figure in check by dieting more so than exercise, confessing: ‘I don’t have stamina in exercise . . . but I have it in life.’
And after being married for three years, Salma revealed that she and her husband — the French CEO of luxury-brands firm PPR, which handles Gucci and Balenciaga — keeps her motivated to keep an eye on the scale.
She said: ?I think if I was not in love, I would probably let myself go faster. Love gives me the vanity to continue. I’m not necessarily vain, but when I gained 50-something pounds in the pregnancy, it did something to me. Since then, at least I make an effort.’
[From The Mail]
So, she?s basically saying that she only keeps herself in shape for her husband, and her marriage makes her
