Salma Hayek has denied she is splashing out on a swanky second wedding bash.“I think a wedding is about love, friends, family and fun,” the 42-year-old actress told People.com, adding: “I think spending millions of dollars on a wedding is ridiculous and it has never been my dream… I would never do that.”Salma quietly tied the knot with her partner, luxury goods CEO Francois-Henri Pinault, in Paris on St Valentine’s Day, but reports had surfaced that she was planning a lavish second ceremony and reception in April.

Salma Hayek has denied reports that she’s planning a multi-million follow-up wedding to her Valentine’s Day civil ceremony with billionaire French businessman Franois-Henri Pinault. Hayek told People that lavish weddings aren’t her style and called it “ridiculous” to spend millions on a wedding celebration:
“I think a wedding is about love, friends, family and fun,” Hayek, 42, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I think spending millions of dollars on a wedding is ridiculous and it has never been my dream. I would never do that.”
The actress-producer and Pinault, 46, the CEO of luxury-goods company PPR welcomed daughter Valentina Paloma in September 2007.
[From People]
Earlier this month, Hayek’s husband was trapped in his car for about an hour by employees protesting 1,2000 job cuts at his firm. He was saved by police who dispersed the protesters, allowing him to leave. Pinault is the CEO of the firm that owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. The recession could be part of the reason why Hayek is so adamant about not having a showy wedding despite her husband’s massive wealth along with her no doubt considerable fortune.
I had a small wedding in order to save money. The lavish weddings on the scale I’ve witnessed, which would have run in the tens of thousands as opposed to millions, weren’t for me or my husband. It’s up to the bride and groom, though, and I’ve really enjoyed myself at some big weddings of friends and family. I wonder whose weddings Hayek was indirectly calling ridiculous. The first bride who comes to mind is Eva Longoria Parker with her Paris wedding and all the trappings in 2007, which People estimated ran about $1.5 million.
According to AOL, the average cost of a wedding in the US is $26,800. They also have a feature on the most expensive celebrity weddings, which includes Liza Minnelli and David Gest’s $3.5 million wedding, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills’ $3 million nuptials, TomKat’s $2 million Italian affair, Christina Aguilera’s $2 million wedding, and Donald Trump and Melania Knauss $1 million NY wedding. Interesting that only a third of these couples are still together, which makes you wonder how long the rest of them will last. I’ve heard some people claim that there’s an inverse relationship between the cost of the wedding and the length of the relationship, but it seems like the people who splurge on their weddings have a 50/50 chance like everyone else.

| Salma Hayek explains her excessive cleavage at the Golden Globes | Added 15 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Salma Hayek had people talking when she showed up at the Golden Globes in an off white gown with her cleavage hoisted up - drawing all the focus away from her very tastefully done makeup and upswept hair. Salma frequently shows her assets, and this outfit wasn’t all that different from her 2007 draped Golden Globe dress, except that her boobs were slightly higher up and pushed out as if they were announcing her imminent arrival. We may have a good explanation for that, as Salma told In Style that her new husband, Franois Henri-Pinault, arranged to have the dress custom made by a designer for Bottega Veneta, one of the companies he oversees:
“Franois was my stylist,” Hayek, 42, tells InStyle for its April issue about the champagne Bottega Veneta gown she wore to the Golden Globes. “It was Christmas and I was just overwhelmed with so many things to do. He said, ‘Let me help you. How can I help?’
“And I said, ‘Well, I have to pick a dress for the Golden Globes,’ ” Hayek continues, recounting her conversation with hubby Franois Henri-Pinault, whose company PPR oversees Balenciaga, Gucci and YSL. “So Bottega Veneta sent swatches and sketches, and Franois worked with the designer Tomas Maier, and he took care of everything.”
The two wed in a Valentine’s Day ceremony at City Hall in Paris after the InStyle interview was conducted. When asked about her feelings for her husband, the actress was succinct, saying simply: “He’s the best.”
[From People]
That’s a sweet story and it’s no wonder that Salma ended up looking incredibly sexy in that dress. It may have been a little over the top, but I’m sure her male fans didn’t mind. If my husband styled a dress for me not only would it be low cut, it would also involve a mini skirt or at least a very high side slit, so at least Salma was covered below her ample chest.
Salma seems to have realized that the gown her husband helped design was a little too much. Fox News has another quote from her Allure interview and she expressed some reservations about revealing his involvement.
“I?m going to say it. I shouldn?t say it but … The truth is ? that dress was picked by Francois.”
So she’s letting people know it’s her husband’s fault she was so much on display. It’s ok to show some cleavage, but only love can convince her to reach a whole new level of distraction with her breasts.

| Salma Hayek says daughter Valentina is 'a little dictator' | Added 15 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Salma Hayek will appear on the cover of April?s In Style Magazine, and she reveals some interesting details about her future career plans and her daughter in the cover story. First, she discusses her plans to develop a range of age-defying cosmetics, based on the home-made ?potions? made by her grandmother.
Hayek claims that her grandmother, Maria Luisa, made her own lotions and cosmetics using ?secret ingredients? only found in Latin America. I don?t really know what to say about all of that, but I do hope that if this cosmetics line takes off, Hayek makes it a priority to extend the foundation colors to dark-skinned women. If you have a skin tone any darker than pale beige, it?s really difficult to find a foundation that works. Contact Music has more about Salma?s plans:
Hollywood actress Salma Hayek is sharing the secrets behind her stunning looks - she’s developing a range of anti-ageing cosmetics.
The currently-unnamed line is inspired by Hayek’s maternal grandmother, former cosmetologist Maria Luisa, whose home-made potions kept her skin glowing well into her 90s.
The 42-year-old Mexican is planning to recreate the concoctions, which will be named in her grandmother’s honour.
Hayek tells InStyle magazine, “When she died at 96, of course her skin had sagged, but she didn’t have any wrinkles. She made her own creams using secret ingredients you can only find in Latin America.”
[From Contact Music]
If the cosmetics line is based on her grandmother?s work, perhaps Salma should just call the line ?Maria Luisa? or ?Grandma?s Cure-all Wrinkle Cream?.
Salma also talks about her daughter, 17-month old Valentina Paloma, in the interview. Salma claims that Valentina is ?a little dictator?. So cute. Bossiness tends to happen when you?re an only child and you?re the center of your parents? universe. Not sayin? how I know that! OK! has more:
In Salma Hayek’s house, it seems 17-month old daughter Valentina Paloma is in charge!
?She?s a little dictator!” the gorgeous In Style cover model says of her daughter with husband Francois-Henri Pinault.
However the pint-sized one isn’t all bossy and dictatorial, as Salma reveals.
“She is unique, magical ? definitely the most colorful person I?ve ever met,” she gushes to the mag. “I feel so connected to her, but at the same time, we are completely different. I discover something new about her every day.?
[From OK! Magazine]
Salma is such a cute mom. You can tell that being a parent to Valentina has just made her life. So far, I haven?t seen any quotes about Salma?s new husband (and Valentina?s daddy) Francois-Henri Pinault, but it?s possible that the interview took place before their Valentine?s Day wedding.

Taking advantage of some amazing weather, Salma Hayek and her daughter Valentina were spotted at the Farmer’s Market yesterday afternoon (March 1).
Joined by Brooke Smith and her daughter Lucy, they meandered around the market, stopping to check out the petting zoo while both wearing beautiful springy dresses.
And though there were plenty of animals to play with, Valentina seemed less than interested, opting instead for a ride on the train before doing some shopping.
The only one missing was Valentina’s father/Salma’s husband Francois-Henri Pinault, whom Hayek married this past Valentine’s Day.

| Salma Hayek chooses '30 Rock' over honeymoon | Added 15 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

After surprising everyone with her Valentine?s Day wedding to Francois-Henri Pinault, the French billionaire/baby-daddy/sugar-daddy, Salma Hayek decided to do something strange for her honeymoon. She decided not to go on it. Can you imagine?
Instead, Salma showed up for work on ?30 Rock? where she is playing a reoccurring guest star character who is a devout Catholic, a McDonalds-McFlurry-lover and Jack?s girlfriend. As a fan of ?30 Rock?, it pains me to say that Salma isn?t that great on the show, but she obviously cares enough about her role to show up for work even when she should be going on her honeymoon.
Actress Salma Hayek skipped her honeymoon with new husband Francois-Henri Pinault - flying straight back from her Paris, France nuptials to shoot TV show ?30 Rock?. The Frida star married her businessman partner on St. Valentine’s Day (14Feb09) in a romantic ceremony in the French capital.
But the couple was forced to postpone plans for a relaxing post-wedding break, as Hayek was due to film her guest spot on Tina Fey’s hit comedy series immediately afterwards.
The news was confirmed by Alec Baldwin, who plays Hayek’s love interest in the show: “She flew right from her wedding to come shoot with us again. Her husband is a doll.”
Series creator Fey adds, “(Hayek) spent her honeymoon working with us! She told me, ‘You must go the parties with me and elope! You must party with me!’”
Hayek originally announced her engagement to Pinault in March 2007, but they called off the wedding in July 2008. They are parents to 16-month-old daughter, Valentina.
[From Contact Music]
It?s weird because after marrying a billionaire, I wouldn?t ever work another day again. It says something about Salma?s work ethic - and how much she believes in the show. Although, I imagine working on ?30 Rock? is a hoot, so maybe it isn?t even like work. I wonder what Francois-Henri thought about skipping the honeymoon. It probably didn?t matter to him, considering that at the end of the day, he?s still married to Salma Hayek.

Starting her weekend off a bit early, Salma Hayek was spotted enjoying an evening out at Eva Longoria’s Beso restaurant last night (February 26).
There for the book launch party for “Good To Great Hair” by Robert Vetica, the “From Dusk til Dawn” actress looked super hot as she arrived to find a throng of paparazzi waiting, sporting a slim fit black tank top teamed with a red, black, and white patterned skirt and black heels.
