Arriving back on the west coast, Sandra Bullock made her way through LAX airport in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday (July 3).
Dressed casually, the "Miss Congeniality" star made her way out to an awaiting vehicle where her adorable son Louis was excitedly seated in the back.
Surely glad to be heading back home, Sandra has been busy as of late with a globe-trotting promotions schedule for her new comedy, "The Heat."
Already in theaters nationwide, the Paul Feig-directed flick follows an uptight FBI Special Agent (Bullock) who gets paired with a foul-mouthed Boston cop (Melissa McCarthy) to take down a ruthless drug lord.

Continuing promotions for her brand new comedy, Sandra Bullock attended a photo call for "The Heat" in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday (July 2).
The Academy Award-winning actress looked beautiful in a cobalt blue ensemble as she struck a pose in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House.
As for the flick, the comedy is officially described as follows: "Uptight FBI special agent Sarah Ashburn is paired with testy Boston cop Shannon Mullins in order to take down a ruthless drug lord. The hitch: neither woman has ever had a partner -- or a friend for that matter."
Also starring Melissa McCarthy and Marlon Wayans, "The Heat" is currently in theaters nationwide!

| ?The Heat' review: a solid box office and a solid female-driven comedy | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The final weekend box office numbers haven?t come out yet, but the early numbers suggest that Channing Tatum might have his first ?flop? in years. White House Down is underperforming while The Heat and Monsters are both on target to make more than $40 million each. Monsters will likely win the box office, I?m assuming. But the real surprise is The Heat, which analysts really didn?t know what to do with. It?s so rare to have an action-comedy film starring two women opening in the summer, analysts didn?t know what to predict, so they low-balled it and now the film is exceeding expectations. Which means three things: one, Sandra Bullock really is America?s Sweetheart and moviegoers still love to support her films; two, Melissa McCarthy is a bona fide movie star; and three, SEQUEL! Here?s my review for The Heat:
SPOILERS ? possible SPOILERS for The Heat.
I went to see The Heat yesterday! I enjoyed it. I think your perception of whether or not it?s a good film depends on what kind of scale you?re using. It?s a better, funnier comedy than most of the insipid, gross-out comedies made these days, but that?s setting a really low bar. Like, one of my favorite films of all time is Beverly Hills Cop ? go back and watch that movie and notice how the film works on every level. It works as a cop movie. It works as a drama. It works as a comedy. If the scale is [horrible comedy] to Beverly Hills Cop, The Heat is better than average but still a way?s to go before it reaches the ?classic? status of a film like Beverly Hills Cop. It?s more like a funnier, dirtier version of Feds. Do you remember that one? I love Feds.
What The Heat has going for it is two charismatic, talented, funny women who are both giving wonderful comedic performances. Sandra plays the ?straight woman? ? the uptight, hyper-focused FBI agent. Melissa plays the wild-and-crazy one, the kamikaze Boston cop with an absolutely filthy mouth and many, many loaded guns. Which isn?t to say Sandra doesn?t have her funny moments. Sometimes her reaction shots to Melissa?s craziness were the funniest things in the movie, and Sandra is always good for physical comedy and pratfalls.
Several things pleased me immensely. One, this is R-rated and it?s mostly because of language. They didn?t pull any punches with the language at all. It?s absolutely filthy, even delightfully so. There was some violence (mostly people getting shot), but I suspect that they could have shot those people and still managed to get a PG-13 rating if not for Melissa?s profane and hilarious F-bomb-laden riffs. I also liked that it felt like everything was about supporting Melissa?s improvisational riffs, which were often absurd, hilarious and comedic gold. I also loved that there weren?t very many ?fat jokes? nor was Melissa?s weight ever really discussed in the film.
Another thing that pleased me: the supporting cast was FULL of comedic talent, from Marlon Wayans to Jane Curtin to Michael McDonald to Tony Hale. Demian Bichir was also in there and my God, that man is handsome. I have no idea how he got cast as an FBI chief, but I suspect that Sandra had seen him and she thought, ?I want to work with that guy!? He speaks with his accent throughout the film, and Melissa?s character refers to him as ?Puss ?N Boots?. Love it.
Of course there were some weak moments and while they tried to keep up the momentum of the crime story, at various points the audience is expected to simply forget about why these two characters were put together in the first place. That being said, it was so refreshing to see two strong comediennes in one film together. They are both the leads and they both owned their roles. I think this is a better film (and a better comedy) than Bridesmaids and it?s better than most of Judd Apatow?s films. I would definitely recommend it ? don?t go into it thinking you?re going to see the best comedy ever made, and you?ll end up enjoying it more than you expect.

She?s been busy promoting her new film ?The Heat? with Melissa McCarthy, and last night (June 26) Sandra Bullock showed up at ?The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.?
During the course of the conversation, Leno asked the ?Speed? starlet how she feels about the strong words used throughout the forthcoming flick.
Jay began, "Tell me about the language in the film?is this the real Sandy Bullock?" Bullock fired back, "Yes, the truck driver mouth is the way.?
"It's great?we have a 190 F-bombs, most of them being Melissa's, so I am chaste in that world. And then at the end I sort of learn how to?when you drop them you're just cooler, I'm cooler when I drop them."
Leno wondered, "Now, do you chat like that in real life?? ?Not in front of children" replied Sandra. Then Jay asked, "Any children here tonight?" and set Bullock up for a slam dunk- "You know it just makes me f--king cool when I drop them!"

| Rex Reed won't apologize: 'I stand by my remarks about Melissa McCarthy's obesity' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are photos from The Heat premiere in NY last night. I love the photos of Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock together especially. Their faces just light up when they’re around each other, and they look genuinely thrilled to see each other. That bodes well for their on-screen chemistry, and I’m hoping that this movie is big hit for them. Here’s a link to the red band trailer if you haven’t seen it yet.
Sandra wore a sexy lace and black leather dress, which is a recent trend and she’s rocking it. I’m not fond of her gladiator-type strappy heels, but they’re not bad. I love her messy waves. She rarely wears her hair like that and it suits her.
Melissa was in a navy blue modern pantsuit and matching heels. She also wore her hair down and loose with very subtle ombre tips. It’s so pretty, I’m going to try and copy Melissa and Sandra’s hair with those casual curls. These two look like they had the same stylist.
Do you remember, back when Identity Thief was out, how an elderly male critic named Rex Reed bashed Melissa McCarthy’s weight? He called her a “female hippo” and “tractor-sized” among other things. Melissa finally addressed that a couple of weeks ago, in an interview with the NY Times. Melissa said that the comments didn’t affect her so much as younger girls who “are not in a place in their life where they can say, ‘That doesn’t reflect on me.’”
Well Rex was asked again about his original nasty review, probably in light of the fact that Melissa finally acknowledged it. Is it surprising to anyone that he doubled-down and was even more of an a-hole this time?
“I can only repeat what I have said before — that I do not have, nor have I ever had, anything personal against people who suffer from obesity,” [Reed] wrote to Us in an email. “What I object to is the disgusting attempt to pretend obesity is funny. It is not remotely humorous, and every obese comedian who ever made jokes about the disease are now dead from strokes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.”
“As a critic whose opinions are constitutionally protected by law, I stand by all of my original remarks about Melissa McCarthy’s obesity, which I consider about as amusing as cancer, and apologize for nothing,” he concluded.
In February, the film critic slammed McCarthy, calling the Bridesmaids actress “tractor-sized, a “female hippo,” and a “screeching, humongous creep.”
Reed’s comments immediately outraged fellow industry insiders and fans alike, many of whom criticized Reed for being unabashedly mean-spirited.
[From US Magazine]
Melissa McCarthy is an hilarious actress who happens to be large. Her weight was not relevant to criticism of the role. Reed was just being nasty and bitter and then couching it in concern-trolling. Melissa is entertaining as hell and we’re laughing because she’s funny. We do the same with Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Their sizes don’t come into play when we decide whether they’re good actresses or not, Melissa’s shouldn’t either.
