There are a bunch of new Jennifer Lawrence stories and very few of them are actually interesting to me. The only one I really like is her Good Morning America interview this week, where she discussed why she felt the need to write that Vice essay immediately following the election. Jennifer?s essay wasn?t bad at all ? she was basically telling her fans ?don?t feel defeated, we still have work to do.? It wasn?t about seeking conciliation with an orange fascist or curling up and ignoring the world. Her argument was: we?re still fighting. Here?s the interview:
Jennifer told GMA:
?I didn?t mean to speak to only people who voted for Hillary, I meant to just speak to the divide ? for any presidential candidate, being very extreme is scary, left or right. For me, I was the star of the Hunger Games. So I had a lot of 12-year-olds and 11-year-olds and I know that they look up to me. I know that they?re listening to me and watching me. When the election happened, I couldn?t help but think of those girls who are 18. I completely understand when people say, ?Just shut up and act.? But for me there are times where I feel a real need to speak to those girls.?
While I have so many issues with J-Law these days, I?m totally fine with what she says here. Her thoughts were with her young fans, just as Hillary Clinton?s concession speech included a message to those girls and young women: you are valuable, you have worth, and your voice is vital, despite what you hear from President Deplorable.
As for the other Jennifer Lawrence stories? she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Monday night. J-Law is a huge fan of the Real Housewife franchises, and she gets very involved in all of the manufactured drama, etc. Here are some clips. I would love to know who ?The Lady? is, and who in the world is ?Pickle???

 SPOILERS for Passengers.
I wasn?t going to see Passengers in the theater anyway, but I?m definitely not going to see it now that the film is getting bad reviews all over the place. Entertainment Weekly gave the film a D+, and EW is in the business of supporting movie stars and these kinds of stupid space movies! Reviewers are using words like: grim, mess, stupid, icky, disaster, creepiness and stalkerish. In fact, most of the early reviews are focused (correctly) on the actual, central plot device at the heart of the film. This is pretty spoilery, so if you don?t want to know, don?t read past this paragraph.
The plot, as I?m sure you?ve seen from the trailers, is that Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence are part of a group of people who agree to spend 100 years in deep-space sleep and they?ll wake up in a new century in space or something. Pratt?s space pod malfunctions and he wakes up 90 years early. He gets lonely, being the only awake human on the spaceship. So he watches all of the hibernating girls and decides that Jennifer Lawrence is the one for him, so he sabotages her space pod, waking her up early too. So he decides that they should hang out and that she will be a good girlfriend/companion and her consent doesn?t really come into play whatsoever. NY Mag explains:
The reason Jennifer Lawrence woke up early is because Chris Pratt got lonely. Passengers begins with a mysterious malfunction in the sleeping pod of Pratt’s character, Jim Preston, which causes him to wake up 90 years before his spaceship is supposed to arrive on a new interstellar colony. For the first 30 minutes or so, Pratt wanders around the spaceship, trying to make peace with the fact that he?ll die before anyone else wakes up. He bonds with Michael Sheen?s robot bartender. He grows a beard. (Think Castaway, if it took place in an Apple Store.) One day, he sees Jennifer Lawrence?s character, Aurora Lane, asleep in her pod. He watches interviews she taped before setting out on the journey, becomes convinced that they belong together, and despite knowing that she?d also be doomed to die on the ship if he woke her up, he decides to do just that.
Much of what happens next involves the two leads developing a relationship while alone on the ship together, as well as dealing with the technical problems that start to plague the spaceship. Passengers? trailers have played up the sexy aspects of the film, lingering on shots of Pratt?s chiseled body or Jennifer Lawrence?s bedroom eyes. But despite what the film?s marketing implies, Passengers is really more of a horror movie, especially if you view it from Aurora’s perspective: Her character never asked to take part in the space rom-com that Jim has devised for her, and compounding matters, she doesn?t know that he woke her up on purpose.
Passengers does explore the fact (it?s not really a question) of Aurora’s lack of consent ? whether or not it succeeds is a matter for the reviewers. As you can deduce from the trailers, the film also introduces more action elements as the ship starts to malfunction. There are a few actual twists, which we won?t spoil here. But still, this is not exactly the movie you saw advertised, and we simply feel that it’s our duty to inform you that Passengers is darker than it seems. A lot darker. Like, wow.
[From NY Magazine]
If you couldn?t tell by the name ?Aurora,? this is supposed to be a futuristic twist on Sleeping Beauty. But unlike Sleeping Beauty?s forced hibernation because of an evil queen?s curse, this Aurora falls asleep by choice. And she?s woken up without her consent by a guy who wants to be her friend and bang her, because it?s all about him and his loneliness. Many of the early reviews are making this lack-of-consent the central problem of the film ? apparently, Pratt?s character seems stalkerish, creepy, predatory. So? yeah, don?t see this movie.

| | Jennifer Lawrence thinks it's so funny that she took a photo while peeing outside | | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I can count, on one hand, the number of times I?ve peed outside in the open air. I?m a private-bathroom person (only child!) and I absolutely loathe peeing outdoors. Thinking back on it? I think it?s only been three times? And two of those times involved one ill-conceived camping trip. Obviously, Jennifer Lawrence is nothing like me. Jennifer Lawrence will pee and barf wherever she wants. And she?ll tell all of her peeing and barfing stories on national television, because she?s so real, you guys. Isn?t it SO funny that she?s so real? She?s so real that she destroys sacred rocks with her ass. And it?s so funny that she just pees on her mom?s lawn for no real reason. I?m not really sure what the point of this story is?
The gist is that Jennifer Lawrence brought a photo of herself and her mother, which features her mom sitting in a chair with a wine glass and Jennifer squatting behind her mom, peeing. Her mom is oblivious to that fact. Jennifer said: ?She has no idea, no clue. I went to pee and my friend got the phone because she knew I was peeing and then we both decided to leave my mom out of it.” What is the joke here? ?Isn?t it funny that we took a photo of your mom while you peed in the background and she had no idea?? Is that even a joke or a prank? But what really bugs me is what goes unsaid: why the hell is Jennifer Lawrence peeing on what appears to be a manicured lawn? Was she too lazy/drunk to simply walk inside the house to use the bathroom?

| | Jennifer Lawrence in Dior for 'Passengers' LA premiere: cute or cotillion' | | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from the big, splashy premiere of Passengers in Hollywood last night. The star of the red carpet was easily Jennifer Lawrence, wearing this Dior gown. This Dior honestly seems like it would be better suited for an awards show, although this year, it?s looking like J-Law probably won?t be going to any awards shows because she?s not nominated for anything. She?s been nominated for an Oscar four times in the past six years, so it?s notable that this a rare J-Law-free awards season. As for the Dior itself? it?s pretty. It doesn?t feel overworked, which is a miracle. I even like the boob-heart embroidery. That being said, this is totally a cotillion dress.
Jennifer was joined by her costar Chris Pratt and Chris?s wife Anna Faris. Pratt wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit and Anna wore Reem Acra. I don?t mind a blonde in a pastel frock, although I take issue with the bust of this gown. Anna is a petite, small-chested woman? and this Reem Acra makes her look even smaller.
Michael Sheen also has a part in Passengers as a robot bartender. Isn?t that weird? Sheen is the best actor in the cast and he was relegated to playing a robot bartender. Anyway, Sheen came out with his still-happening girlfriend Sarah Silverman. I think they?re a weird couple but whatever. They seem to adore each other.

| | Jennifer Lawrence almost killed someone by scratching her butt on sacred rocks | | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt were in Europe all of last week doing the first wave of press for their holiday film, Passengers. I?m calling it a ?holiday film? because it?s being released the week before Christmas in the hopes that bored holiday moviegoers will want to see two of the biggest Hollywood stars be romantic together. Anyway, I?m including photos from their stops in London (J-Law in the red-and-black printed Proenza Schouler dress) and Berlin (J-law in the black-and-white polka-dotted Dolce & Gabbana two-piece). I weirdly like the Proenza Schouler dress and absolutely loathe the D&G. I also dislike Jennifer?s current extensions, they look so fake and cheap.
Anyway, during their stop in London, Chris and Jennifer filmed an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. Both have appeared on the show before, to great results, and I can understand why Graham wanted them both on the couch. He probably thought it was going to be Peak Charisma. But the result was actually sort of annoying. Jennifer told one story about filming on one of the Hunger Games movies in Hawaii, and how she kept scratching her butt on sacred rocks, so much so that she actually dislodged one of the rocks and almost killed someone.
The headlines for this story are along the lines of ?J-Law?s butt almost killed someone? and ?J-Law?s butt-scratching put someone in mortal danger.? But the story is really f?ked up, right? If the rocks are sacred, um? don?t use them to scratch your ass. And it?s not funny that she destroyed a sacred site and almost killed someone, and did extensive damage to the production. I get that we?re supposed to be like ?OMG, she?s so relatable and puppy-ish.? But this story is the worst.
Speaking of the worst, Chris Pratt tried to bring the charm by doing a magic trick. I?ll admit, the last part was sort of cool, but this bit just went on way too long. It seemed like something Tom Hiddleston would do.
All in all, not the best couch. Sometimes Norton gets a really good combination, sometimes it falls flat.

| | Jennifer Lawrence: 'We?re all allowed to be sad' but we mustn't be defeated' | | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jennifer Lawrence was With Her. Jennifer?s boyfriend Darren Aronofsky even used Jennifer as a way to bribe college students into voting ? if the students promised to vote, he let them Facetime with J-Law on his phone. So, obvious, J-Law is really depressed this week just like every sane, sentient, inclusionist, woke ally. What did Jennifer decide to do with her depression, revulsion, sadness and shock? She wrote an essay about what?s next.
Is this the stark reality? It doesn’t matter how hard you work or how qualified you are, at the end of the day, you’re not a man? Is that what we just learned? This country was founded on immigration and today the only people that feel safe, that their rights are recognized and respected are white men.
I want to be positive; I want to support our democracy, but what can we take away from this? It’s a genuine question that we all need to ask ourselves. We shouldn’t blame anyone, we shouldn’t riot in the streets. We should think strongly and clearly about what to do next because we cannot change the past.
If you’re worried about the health of our planet, find out everything you can about how to protect it. If you’re worried about racial violence love your neighbor more than you’ve ever tried to before?no matter what they believe or who they voted for. If you’re afraid of a wall putting us all into another recession then organize and stand against it.
If you’re a woman and you’re worried that no matter how hard you work or how much you learn, there will always be a glass ceiling, then I don’t really know what to say. I don’t know what I would tell my daughter if I were you. Except to have hope. To work for the future.
We’re all allowed to be sad that the present isn’t what we thought it was. But we mustn’t be defeated. We will keep educating ourselves and working twice as hard as the man next to us because we know now that it is not fair. It is not fair in the workplace, so you make it impossible to fail. And like Hillary, it might not work.
But like Hillary, you can still be an inspiration and get important things done. Do not let this defeat you?let this enrage you! Let it motivate you! Let this be the fire you didn’t have before. If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman?don’t be afraid, be loud!
[From Vice/Broadly]
I like this: ?We’re all allowed to be sad that the present isn’t what we thought it was. But we mustn’t be defeated.? That?s exactly what it felt like when the numbness subsided ? I was so sad, but it didn?t feel like our side had been defeated. It didn?t feel like we were out in the cold? even though we are, and I said yesterday that it?s a good thing, because now the GOP is forced to reckon with itself and choke on their own bad ideas, their own recklessness, insanity, bigotry and hatred. I don?t feel defeated. I feel angry. I am pissed off.

I do enjoy it when my belief in low-tier tabloid reports pay off. Months ago, In Touch Weekly reported that Jennifer Lawrence was spending a lot of time with her director Darren Aronofsky. People were like ?Don?t believe it!? Then this week, The Sun reported something similar, that Aronofsky and J-Law have been keeping their sh-t on the downlow but yes, they?ve been quietly dating for a while now. Folks were still like ?I?m going to need to see some receipts.? Well now even People Magazine is confirming the news: 26-year-old J-Law is banging 47-year-old Darren Aronofsky!
Jennifer Lawrence has a new man in her life. The Hunger Games actress is dating director Darren Aronofsky, a source close to Lawrence tells PEOPLE.
?They?ve been hanging out and are casually dating,? says the Lawrence pal.
Over the summer, Lawrence, 26, and Aronofsky, 47, collaborated on a still-untitled project together starring the Oscar-winning actress, Ed Harris and Javier Bardem. They were also photographed together in August enjoying lunch at a cafe.
Currently in post-production, the movie is directed and written by Aronofsky and focuses on a couple whose relationship is disrupted when unwanted guests enter their lives.
[From People]
My question is: how long has this been going on? The tabloids have been murmuring about it since March, which was before Darren and Jennifer even started working together on the film (but she was cast in the film at that point, it?s just that the film was in preproduction). Did they start up during filming? Before filming? After filming? And seriously? this pairing is so random. She really does not have a type, does she? To go from Nicholas Hoult to Chris Martin to Darren Aronofsky??? Who will she date next, Elon Musk?
Also: someone creeped on Jennifer and Darren two months ago and got this photo. So I?m pretty sure that this has been happening since this summer.

Dior?s show at Paris Fashion Week is one the hottest tickets of any fashion week in any city. Models, fashionistas and celebrities rearrange their schedules just to be available for the Dior show, and all of the faces of Dior are likely contractually obligated to show up at a few shows a year. Which is how Jennifer Lawrence ? who has been undercover for MONTHS ? deigned to appear at the Dior show on Friday. And when I say ?deigned,? I mean? she looks completely over this. She didn?t want to be in Paris for the Dior show at all. I can see it on her face. And I don?t know if Dior chose Jennifer?s outfit or what, but Dior?s golden girl definitely got the worst ensemble. That might be why she?s so glum-looking too. ?Oh, jean capris? Really? Okay, I guess? since I?m contractually obligated.?
And to think, I actually had high hopes for Dior?s new creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, who took over from Raf Simons this year. Simons was doing terrible things with the label. But judging from these clothes? um, Chiuri isn?t doing much better.
More photos from the show? Rihanna has a gift for making the stupidest clothes look amazing. This is one of those times. This dress would look like an absurd, ill-fitting costume on nearly anyone else. On Rihanna, it looks chic.
I?ve seen so many fashion sites acting like Marion Cotillard?s white sweater/dress is the second coming of Jesus. Really? It?s a pretty unflattering design. Granted, she?s pregnant and I bet this is really comfortable.
Karlie Kloss in one of the best skirts to come out of Dior in a long time.
Kate Moss is doing something different, right? I think she?s going for a more beachy blonde, whereas before she was more of a ?bronde.? The jean jacket is? eh.
Diane Kruger looks like she just came from Lollapalooza. In 1995.
And finally, Natalie Portman was there too. Like Marion, she?s knocked up. Something in the water over there at Dior, maybe.

A few months back, LaineyGossip referred to Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence as the Prom King and Prom Queen of Hollywood. It?s true ? they are the two most successful young actors, and it seems pretty obvious that producers and studios would look to put them in a project together. That project ended up being? Passengers, a sci-fi love story. They filmed the project last year and the first trailer was released today:
I understand how this looked good on paper. Sci-fi, everybody loves something sleek and cool and futuristic. Everybody loves romance between two attractive people. Everybody loves action-drama too. But is it just me or does it seem? kind of blandly uninspired? Don?t get me wrong, I?m sort of curious to learn why their characters ?woke up,? but is that enough to see the film? No. But I?m sure people will go see it, considering it stars the Prom King and Prom Queen.
