Last night was the New York premiere for Don?t Look Up, the star-studded ensemble film directed by Adam McKay. It premieres on Netflix this coming weekend and I?m looking forward to seeing it. It looks like an enjoyable comedy and you can?t argue with the cast. Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio are the ?leads,? they play scientists who discover the comet which is about to hit earth and kill everybody, leading to huge shenanigans. Leo honestly looked a bit nervous to be photographed with a heavily pregnant woman. There was panic in his eyes. Leo, it?s not yours!!
J-Law wore Dior, a customized gown to accommodate her pregnancy. It?s been a while since we?ve seen her in a Dior gown and this is one of the better ones. That sheer fabric isn?t a cape, those are just fabric panels which are supposed to look sort of like ?sleeves.? The dress is very glittery and well-made and Jennifer looked elegant. I?m sure her feet hurt! This was her first premiere in two years. Her jewelry is Tiffany & Co.
There weren?t many solo pics of Meryl Streep, but her dress is Marc Jacobs. Jonah Hill is blonde and shirtless (but not jacket-less) and he attended the premiere with his girlfriend Sarah Brady. Florence Pugh isn?t in the film, but I guess she wanted to see it because she turned up at the premiere too. She wore an insane Dolce & Gabbana ensemble which was totally wrong for New York in December. Bonus: Kid Cudi wearing teddy bears on his feet.

There?s been a lot of baby talk this week, what with Cardi B revealing she gave birth to a boy, Alicia Vikander revealing that she gave birth to a Fassbaby at some point in the past year, Kylie Jenner confirming her pregnancy too, plus the mess with John Mulaney and his girlfriend. At some point, I did think to myself ?I wonder if that?s why we haven?t heard from Jennifer Lawrence in a while, maybe she?s secretly pregnant too.? Yep.
Jennifer Lawrence is pregnant! The 31-year-old Oscar winner is expecting her first child with her husband, art gallery director Cooke Maroney, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm.
The actress rep confirmed the happy baby news to PEOPLE on Wednesday.
Lawrence and Maroney were first linked in June 2018 and the star and the art dealer, 37, were engaged the following February. The couple tied the knot on Oct. 19, 2019, in Rhode Island.

A Maroney Baby is coming! I feel like she only would have confirmed this if she was pretty far along and/or she was trying to get ahead of an inevitable ?bump reveal? via paparazzi photos. She?s got some promotion to do in a few months for Don?t Look Up, which comes out in December. She already wrapped on another film, although she?s got two big projects yet to film, Mob Girl and the Elizabeth Holmes/Bad Blood movie. I guess those films will be delayed. Jennifer Lawrence did her first ?event? in nearly two years yesterday. Yes, it really has been that long! The last time she appeared on a red carpet for a premiere was June 2019, for the Dark Phoenix premiere. The last time she appeared at a fashion event was September 2019, for the Paris Fashion Week runway for Dior. J-Law has had her Dior contract for God knows how long easily since 2013/14, I believe. The Dior shows are pretty much the only fashion-week event she attends, and I?m positive she?s contractually obligated to attend as many runway shows as possible.
Jennifer seemed to be enjoying herself at the show, and she chatted with Dior chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari and met backstage with Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Jen is obviously wearing head-to-toe Dior, and I would imagine that her look was probably chosen for her and styled by the Dior team. They made her look great, honestly. Jennifer looks well-rested and happy.
Has absence made the heart grow fonder for the public and J-Law? I still enjoy the fact that she was the biggest young actress in Hollywood and she stepped away to really take a real break. She got married to Cooke Maroney, she spent time with friends and family, she traveled and she kept out of the press for the most part. We will be getting some J-Law later this year with Don?t Look Up. She also wrapped on Red, White and Water, which will come out next year. She?s still got to film Bad Blood, the Elizabeth Holmes/Theranos story and she has other stuff in development.

Whenever people talk about Jennifer Lawrence?s family or her childhood, they always mention that she grew up on a ?family farm in Kentucky.? For whatever reason, I guess I always thought of her childhood as hard-scrabble, that she comes from an economically disadvantaged Kentucky farming community. But yeah, probably not. I mean, the Lawrence family does have a farm, but they?ve probably already been well-off, and they run a popular summer camp out of the farm too. Except that part of the farm burned down over the holiday:
Jennifer Lawrences family farm, which runs a summer camp, in Kentucky was ravaged by a horrible fire. On Saturday, Camp Hi-Ho shared a statement on Facebook announcing the tragic news after the fire broke out late Friday night.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm the news that we lost our barn last night in a horrible fire. We are deeply thankful that no people or animals were hurt, but we are still mourning the loss of years of hard work and memories that occurred in these walls, the statement read. Words cannot describe the pain we are in, but we are so incredibly grateful for the Simpsonville Fire Department and all the other firefighters who responded to our emergency. You are true heroes. We are also so grateful for the countless members of our community who have reached out to support us during this time. Your love and kindness mean the world to us, the statement continued.
God?s goodness and protection is evident in this situation already, and our hope remains steadfast in Him, knowing that He is with us and in control of the steps ahead, the statement concluded. We know Camp Hi-Ho is a special place to so many, and we plan to rebuild and repair so that we can move forward with a safe and joyful camp experience this summer.
According to WLKY News, firefighters with the Simpsonville Fire Department got a call at around 9 p.m. local time in regards to the fire. They had assistance from the Shelby County and South Oldham fire departments, though it still took over an hour to put out the flames. Nearly 30 firefighters and half a dozen trucks were needed. One of the issues with a rural area is always water supply. Unfortunately in areas like this, without hydrants, we have to have all our water tankered in for suppression efforts, Simpsonville Assistant Fire Chief Bobby Cravens told WLKY. The Simpsonville Fire and Rescue and the Kentucky State Fire Marshall are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
TMZ obtained an email sent from the Oscar winners brother, Blaine Lawrence, who owns and directs Camp Hi-Ho, sent to parents of past campers. In the email, Blaine reportedly detailed the damage, explaining that the barn lost in the fire housed his office space, stalls for their horses, an indoor riding area for kids, an indoor rock wall, a native wildlife display, an arts and crafts area and a garage with farm equipment and a nurse station. Blaine promised to have the barn rebuilt and open by summer 2021 and asked for donations to aid in rebuilding.

Donations! I mean, it?s easy enough to say that Jennifer Lawrence could probably write a check to cover everything, but who knows how much money she?s already put into it. Plus, I would hope that everything is insured? But the insurance company will probably wait to see the findings of the investigation, and if it was arson, then no, the family won?t get any money. Anyway, it?s sad. I had no idea that Jen?s family ran a summer camp in Kentucky. They?re lucky that no person or animal was hurt.

When did you stop having girly sleepovers? I guess I stopped in college? I?m not saying that with any kind of pride it would be nice to have a girls-night sleepover, even though realistically I would probably end up provoking a fight and bringing up some long-buried resentment and then I would cry and eat popcorn. Still, I admire the grown-ass women who embrace the girly sleepovers. Like Jennifer Lawrence, who has many close girlfriends in her life. She told the Absolutely Not with Heath McMahan podcast that even though she and her BFF are married (not to each other) they still have sleepovers.
Jennifer Lawrence?s husband, Cooke Maroney, doesn?t have issues with his wife having sleepovers because he knows she values girl time. Lawrence admitted her most recent sleepover was the night before. ?My friend came over and it was not planned, but she ended up spending the night and we slept in my bed and my husband slept in our guest room,? she said.
Lawrence explained that Maroney, 36, ?knows the drill? about her sleepovers because it?s been a part of her life for years. ?My best friend in the entire world, we used to have sleepovers all the time and then she got married when we were pretty young. I was, like, 24 and I was, like, ?Well I understand, you know, it?s gonna change, you?re gonna get married,? she recalled. ?And she was like ?No, it?s not.? And we still to this day ? she?s been married for seven years ? we still to this day have sleepovers. Love a girly slumber party.?

Haha, Cooke slept in the guest room. That?s kind of funny. I wonder if Cooke is like ?the guest room AGAIN? Why can?t SHE sleep in the guest room?? Because that?s no fun. The fun of girly sleepovers is talking for hours and making each other laugh, all with no boys around. This admission was very on-brand for Jennifer.
In the same podcast, Jennifer spoke about politics and how she used to vote for Republicans:
I grew up Republican. My first time voting, I voted for John McCain. I was a little Republican, Lawrence, 30, said. She said her upbringing allowed her to see the fiscal benefits of some of the Republican policies as well as realize the social issues werent in line with [her] views.
As Lawrence grew older, however, she said she changed [her] politics based on the things [she] learned. If nothing else, she said what changed everything was when Donald Trump got elected.
Referring to some of the biggest scandals of Trumps time in office ? while he insists hes been unfairly targeted by critics ? Lawrence said: This is an impeached president whos broken many laws and has refused to condemn white supremacy, and it feels like there has been a line drawn in the sand. I don?t think it?s right it just changes things for me.
I dont want to support a president who supports white supremacists, Lawrence said on McMahans podcast.

I get that she grew up in Kentucky and she likely was surrounded by Republicans and came from a Republican family. It takes a while for some people to deprogram themselves in adulthood. Still, notice how squirrelly she is about when she stopped voting for Republicans! Fk, did she vote for Mitch McConnell??

True story: we?ve somehow NOT talked about Jennifer Lawrence all year?? I was looking at our archives and I haven?t written about her since her wedding to Cooke Maroney last October. Unlike so many other couples, Jennifer and Cooke managed to get their dream wedding done before the pandemic hit. They were married in front of a large group of friends and family in Rhode Island. And then? nothing! They basically went dark for the past year.
These are photos of Cooke and Jennifer out in New York over the Labor Day weekend. They?ve stepped out a few times in recent weeks and there are lots of paparazzi photos circulating. I have no idea if they?ve been in New York this whole year? It?s possible, but again, they?ve barely been seen before August. I think she was working on a film very early this year and they managed to get the shoot done before the pandemic. But yeah, basically she has a lot of stuff on hold, and maybe she was already planning to take some time off to enjoy her time as a newlywed. I?m kind of surprised she?s not pregnant, aren?t you? I figured she would probably try for a baby almost immediately post-wedding.
Fashion notes: J-Law is wearing the Tennis Mini Nora Dress by HVN. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a different version of this printed dress during her Zoom call with Andy Murray. J-Law paired the dress with some Dior sneakers and a mask.
During the lockdown, Jennifer did make news because she joined Twitter and she started posting some stuff about Black Lives Matter, voting and Breonna Taylor. So, that?s the update on Jennifer Lawrence! I can?t believe I?ve gone this long without writing about her.

I can?t believe Jennifer Lawrence and Rafael Nadal got married this weekend! To other people, obviously. Rafa married Mery, his girlfriend of 14 years, in Spain on Saturday. Jennifer married Cooke Maroney in Rhode Island on Saturday. Who had the bigger wedding? I actually think? Rafa had the bigger wedding, it looks like he spent millions on it. Jennifer spent a good chunk of change on her wedding too, no doubt. And we seem to know more details about Jennifer?s wedding:
Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney are officially married! The 29-year-old Oscar-winning actress and the art dealer, 34, have tied the knot, PEOPLE confirms. A source tells PEOPLE the bride wore a Dior dress for her happy day.
Lawrence and Maroney held a wedding reception for their 150 guests, including Adele, Amy Schumer and Kris Jenner, at the luxurious Belcourt of Newport, a mansion in Newport, Rhode Island that was designed in 1894 by renowned American architect Richard Morris Hunt. Emma Stone and Ashley Olsen were also in attendance.
The estate was inspired by Louis XIII?s hunting lodge at Versailles. It is currently the home to Carolyn Rafaelian, CEO of Alex and Ani. On Friday, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Cameron Diaz, Sienna Miller and more were spotted attending the rehearsal dinner, during which the couple hosted a clambake under a white tent on Rose Island.

My top-five favorite things to talk about regarding celebrity weddings, in order: 1) the dress, 2) the food, 3) the cake, 4) the bridesmaids? dresses, 5) the guests? outfits. What can I say? You can tell a lot about a person from what they serve at their wedding. And gdamn it, please have a cake. The worst wedding stories involve ?a fruit tart in lieu of a wedding cake.? Anyway, Jennifer Lawrence is getting married to Cooke Maroney. I thought the wedding would happen over the summer, but no. She?s going to be an autumn bride. An autumn bride with an amazing wedding reception menu! Jennifer and Cooke will apparently get married this weekend in Rhode Island (???) and TMZ found out all the details about themenu. And I?m here for it.
Jennifer Lawrence is about to walk down the aisle this weekend but the big scoop here is what she and her guests will feast on a smorgasbord of fancy eats and drinks. We got some deets on JLaws wedding which is going down Saturday at a swanky venue in Rhode Island, 8 months after she got engaged. We gotta say, for a relatively short engagement theyve put together a pretty elaborate affair. Clearly, Jen and hubby-to-be Cooke Maroney pulled out all the stops hiring celeb wedding planner Mark Seed to do the party for about 150 people.
Lets start with the grub, shall we? According to the menu, folks are gonna have their pick from a variety of hors doeuvres ..

Moving on to the main course options heres what Jen and Cooke, or their hired help, will be serving up either wood-roasted fish with herbs and lemon-infused butter OR 5-week-aged leg of beef with foragers sauce. There are veggies too heirloom roasted carrots, smoked new potatoes, whey braised cabbage blah, blah, blah. Lets get to the good good.
Desserts coming in hot! Fire-baked sourdough bread pudding with chocolate; salted caramel and fresh apple; cauldron fritters with bourbon cream and cinnamon sugar; house-made marshmallow smores. As for drinks, specialty cocktails appear to boil down to either a bourbon old-fashioned or gin cucumber lavender champagnes served at a cash bar. JK!!! Like we said, its gonna be extravagant. Dare we say decadent???

Here are some photos of Jennifer Lawrence at the Dior show in Paris yesterday, during Paris Fashion Week. J-Law has been with Dior so long now, and I still don?t really know how I feel about the collaboration of fashion house and celebrity. Sometimes a combination just makes sense, and sometimes it?s Kristen Stewart and Chanel. To me, J-Law and Dior is like that it?s not that combination is flat-out awful, it?s just that I wish J-Law had other options. Like, I don?t hate her goth-biker look here, but? imagine if she got to wear other sh-t?
Anyway, I?ll say something nice: Jennifer?s face looks back to normal? Back in June, Jennifer looked different. Like she had some subtle cosmetic work, perhaps some bridal Botox or something like that. It was strange but now it seems to be over? She looks like she?s back to her old self.

In today?s edition of Jennifer Lawrence Gets Sent All The Scripts, Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to play a lady mobster. The plotline for her new project sounds a lot like Married to the Mob, but drama instead of comedy. And I LOVE Married to the Mob. That is such a great movie, and now I?m sad because director Jonathan Demme is no longer with us. Anyway, yes, J-Law?s new movie is a combination of Married to the Mob and Goodfellas:
Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in Makeready?s adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Teresa Carpenter true-crime story ?Mob Girl.? Lawrence will also produce the film, which is based on the life of the mob wife turned police informant Arlyne Brickman, alongside Justine Polsky via their production company, Excellent Cadaver. Academy Award winner Paolo Sorrentino has been tapped to direct the adaptation with Angelina Burnett adapting the script. Sorrentino will also produce the project alongside Wildside?s Lorenzo Mieli.
The film follows Brickman who grows up among racketeers on the Lower East Side of New York City where she?s drawn to the glamorous and flashy lifestyle of New York mobsters. Soon after, she begins dating ?wiseguys? and running errands for them, before getting in on the action herself ? eventually becoming a police informant and a major witness in the government?s case against the Colombo crime family.
?Seeing this story from a woman?s point of view is a fresh and exciting approach to telling a classic mob story,? says Makeready Founder and CEO, Brad Weston. ?We could not imagine a more perfect team of stellar filmmakers, with Jennifer starring in a tour de force role and Paolo at the helm, to bring Arlyne?s strength and unique perspective to life on screen.?

One of the reasons why Goodfellas was so great was because they didn?t JUST show Henry Hill?s perspective, they also showed a lot from Karen Hill?s perspective (played by Lorraine Bracco), and Bracco got an Oscar nomination for Supporting Actress for that role. But I see the point of this it IS unusual to tell a mob story from a woman?s perspective. It could end up being a great thing. Butwith Jennifer Lawrence as the mob girl? I?m not so sure. Don?t get me wrong, Jennifer is actually better when she plays lower-class characters, working class characters, but I?m not so sure she could pull off ?Lower East Side lady mobster? with her Kentucky accent. I mean, this part would seem to call for a ?young Marisa Tomei? type, not a blue-eyed blonde from Appalachia.
