Angelina Jolie has had a busy and visible January she?s been back and forth between London and New York, and seen out with Shiloh and Zahara. I think Zahara got a lot of ?mom time? on the New York trip, and it?s very clear that Jolie misses her oldest daughter like crazy now that Zahara is in college. I wonder which kids got to travel with mom to Paris, because that?s where Jolie is this week. These are photos of Angelina on Monday at the Guerlain boutique in Paris. It looks like she was swarmed by paparazzi. She looks so glamorous, honestly.
Currently, Guerlain is the only big endorsement in Jolie?s portfolio. I have to think she gets offers to model for print campaigns and I hope she?s been offered some brand ambassadorships. I feel like that would be a great move for her at this point in her life, to get a brand ambassadorship with one of the big fashion houses like Dior or Saint Laurent. Speaking of, she?s been carrying a lot of expensive designer purses lately in New York, she hauled around an enormous YSL tote (the Icare tote), and in Paris, she?s carrying the new Dior 95.22 bag. According to British Vogue, this bag was unveiled at a Dior show last year and it?s basically the new version of the Lady Dior/Chouchou. Please, someone get her a purse brand ambassadorship!
Look at this insane crowd. Can you imagine if she ever turned up at Paris Fashion Week?

In 2001, Angelina Jolie became a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commission on Refugees. Ten years later, her position with the UNHCR was elevated to the status of ?special envoy.? Over the years, we?ve heard stories about Jolie?s UNHCR work, all of it good she has the respect of the diplomats and the aid workers on the ground, she brings her own media and writes her own speeches and statements, she donates her own money and she helps with fundraising and public advocacy on behalf of the UNHCR. I thought she would be with the UN in an official position for the rest of her life, but it looks like she?s now focused on working with other organizations. Jolie has stepped down for her UNHCR position. This shocked me!
The United Nations and Angelina Jolie announced in a joint statement on Friday morning that Ms. Jolie would end her role as a special envoy for the U.N. refugee agency after 21 years of humanitarian work as one of the most famous public faces representing the organization. The statement said Ms. Jolie ?was moving on? from the United Nations to expand her humanitarian work and engage with a ?wider range of actors on a broader set of humanitarian issues as well as work more directly with local organizations.?
Ms. Jolie, 47, has toured the globe?s conflict zones, including Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan and Myanmar, making 60 field visits since 2001, first as a good-will ambassador and then, starting in 2011, as a special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
?Angelina Jolie has been an important humanitarian partner of U.N.H.C.R. for very long,? Filippo Grandi, the high commissioner for the refugee agency, said in the statement. ?After a long and successful time with UNHCR, I appreciate her desire to shift her engagement and support her decision.?
In May, Ms. Jolie visited Ukraine, volunteering with local nongovernment organizations in the western city of Lviv in a personal capacity and outside of an official role with the United Nations. The trip appeared to be the first sign that she was preparing to part ways with the global organization.
?After 20 years of working within the U.N. system, I feel it is time for me to work differently, engaging directly with refugees and local organizations and supporting their advocacy for solutions,? Ms. Jolie said in the statement.

The Times also gives Jolie her flowers, describing just some of the work she did on the ground, how much she cares about the refugees she meets, how she visits the same camps multiple times so she can check in the same refugees. The Times also pointed out that Jolie seemed to be increasingly critical of the UN on the whole, perhaps because she saw it as unwieldy and perhaps wasting money which could be better spent elsewhere. It will be interesting to see if Jolie seeks an official alliance with a smaller refugee organization, or whether she just becomes a self-styled lone humanitarian, lending her support short-term to organizations on the ground at various crises.
I also think it?s worth noting that Jolie has been making a lot of visits to DC now that Joe Biden is president, including multiple trips to the Biden White House. Did she resign as UNHCR special envoy because she?s about to take a position with the Biden administration or State Dept?

A few weeks ago, Angelina Jolie confirmed what had been widely rumored: little Zahara Jolie Pitt is headed to Spelman College. Angelina and Zahara attended a ?Spelhouse? fundraiser and party in LA, and Zahara got to meet some of her new Spelman sisters. Well, this is apparently freshman orientation week. Angelina is in Atlanta, helping Zahara move into (what I presume is) campus housing. Something I?ve appreciated about all of this is that Angelina is clearly very famous and recognizable, but she has the kind of energy where regular people feel like they can talk to her, take her photo and even tease her and she?s just chill with all of it. The defamation verdict in the Johnny Depp case has unsurprisingly empowered the worst men. We knew that as soon as the verdict came out, that there would be a wave of Me Too backlash, that abusers specifically high-profile celebrity abusers would sue their victims. I?m very worried about Evan Rachel Wood and I hope she has people she trusts around her. I?m completely unsurprised that in the wake of the Depp verdict, Brad Pitt has chosen to sue Angelina Jolie. He?s not suing for defamation though. He?s suing because she lawfully sold her half of Chateau Miraval, including her half of the wine business. Last year, Jolie had to go to court to remove the restraining order on Miraval, their jointly-held asset. She was successful, and by October 2021, she sold her half to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of Stoli.
In the months that followed the sale, Brad has been whining to anyone who would listen about how Jolie had no right to do this (she actually went to court a few times to clear the path of the sale) and how he wasn?t given any notice (he was) and how unfair it was that she wanted to remove herself from him financially (he?s a controlling abuser, big surprise). Now he?s sued her. The Daily Mail got the first look at his lawsuit and ran it as an exclusive. It would not surprise me if Pitt?s lawyers sent the lawsuit to the Mail directly, and they definitely provided color commentary via ?a source? who called Jolie ?vindictive? and more. But now People Magazine and other outlets are running the story about the lawsuit:
Brad Pitt is accusing ex Angelina Jolie of damaging the reputation of the wine business they previously co-owned together by selling her half to a stranger. Back in 2008, the now-exes, who share six kids, bought a controlling stake in the South of France vineyard and home Chteau Miraval, where they later got married in 2014 and spent several family holidays together throughout their relationship.
In Pitts latest court filing in his ongoing battle with Jolie over the sale of Miraval, the actor, 58, claims that Jolie, 47, intentionally sought to inflict harm on him by selling her interests in the wine company. Pitt says they had agreed to never sell their respective interests in the family business without the others consent. Jolie did not immediately respond to PEOPLEs request for comment.
Pitts legal team writes in the documents, filed Friday at Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by PEOPLE, that Miraval became his passion project that grew into a multimillion-dollar global business and one of the worlds most highly regarded producers of ros wine through his work. The actor accuses Jolie of contributing nothing to Miravals success.
In the filing, Pitts lawyers say Jolie planned to sell her interest in October to Tenute del Mondo, which is bent on taking control of Miraval and is indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group.
Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitts contractual rights, reads the filing from Pitts team. Pitts lawsuit claims that Jolies business Nouvel owed his company Mondo Bongo the right of first refusal, and the sale infringed on that right. Jolie, who filed for divorce in 2016, was previously cleared to sell her share of the estate in September.
Pitts team says Shefler launched a hostile takeover of Miraval and is trying to get ahold of confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of his competing enterprise. The documents accuse Shefler of having cutthroat business tactics and dubious professional associations, which in turn jeopardizes the reputation of the brand Pitt so carefully built. They add: Jolie has sought to force Pitt into partnership with a stranger, and worse yet, a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions.
Pitt is seeking damages in an amount to be proven at trial plus the purported sale made by Jolie to be declared null and void.
The actor is asking for a trial by jury. Pitt is suing for breach of implied-in-fact contract; breach of quasi-contract, pleaded in the alternative; breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing; abuse of rights under Article 6-1 of the Luxembourg Civil Code; tortious interference with contractual relations; tortious interference with prospective business relations; and constructive trust.

?Pitts team says Shefler launched a hostile takeover of Miraval? from what I?ve heard, Pitt?s team continued to keep their new business partners in the dark about their business practices and Tenute del Mondo gave Pitt and his team ample opportunity to work together in good faith. When that didn?t work, Tenute del Mondo got the French authorities involved and they?re uncovering a lot of fraudulent sh-t going on in Miraval. I mean, that?s what I?ve heard. The whole reason why Jolie wanted out of Miraval is because Pitt cut her out of the business and he acted as if she didn?t own half of the property. Anyway, I can?t wait to see if Pitt hires Johnny Depp?s misogynist troll army.

Over the summer, Angelina Jolie took her kids to Europe for some fun, travel and work. During that trip, we kept getting stories and photos of Jolie with her friends. She ended up hanging out with Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, Prune Nourry and JR. JR is a ?street artist? and he took many photos of Angelina (mostly posted to his IG Stories) during the trip. A nice time was had by all, and I halfway wondered if JR?s photos would end up in a magazine editorial as Jolie promoted The Eternals. That didn?t happen! Instead, I kind of wonder if Jolie turns up in JR?s documentary, Paper and Glue: A JR Project.
Last night, Paper and Glue: A JR Project premiered in LA. Angelina attended the premiere and happily posed with JR (who honestly looks like her type). Jolie brought two of her kids, probably the two ?artsy? kids, Shiloh and Pax. Pax rarely does premieres with his mom these days, so he must have really been interested in the documentary. Shiloh?s back to her tomboy style. They?re both really good-looking kids. Angelina wore one of her favorite ensembles: a black pencil skirt and a black turtleneck.
Jolie was also seen out a few nights ago in LA she was apparently attending an evening event for Guerlain (one of her few endorsements), but there were only street photos of her outside the event. I didn?t see anything from inside the event?

Angelina Jolie celebrated her 20th anniversary with the United Nations High Commission on Refugees this year. It was in 2001 that she was first appointed a goodwill ambassador to the UNHCR. Eventually, her title was upgraded to special envoy to the UNHCR. She not only travels to refugee camps around the world, drawing attention to targeted situations, but she also has expanded her portfolio of activism and advocacy to gendered violence, rape and assault in warzones, the rights of children and more. As part of Angelina?s People Magazine cover story (in the current issue), she spoke more about what led her to this work, and the kindness she?s been shown from refugees:
The kindest thing to ever happen to her: In the middle of unthinkable hardship and atrocity, Angelina Jolie has witnessed incredible grace and generosity. In fact, it was while visiting the Syrian border that a young girl shared one of the few items she still had. This little girl came up to me and offered me some biscuits that she had in her pocket. Knowing what shed come from, knowing what she was heading into, knowing everything shed experienced, yet in that moment she wasnt thinking of herself or everything she had lost. She wasnt sitting with self pity. She just saw me?I must have looked tired and she just walked over and thought to just be kind. Thats what makes human beings so wonderful.
Her commitment to finding solutions for refugees: My spirit has benefited, my life has benefited, from being allowed to be in the company of people who are surviving very difficult things. Its been a gift to me. I dont like the idea that its some burden, that its so nice of somebody to go out of their way to help somebody else. Its not. I dont ever see this idea of charity.
She learned a valuable lesson from an Afghan grandmother. She was raising her grandchildren because her children had been murdered and she was in a refugee camp. I remember I started to cry and she said, I dont need you to cry, I need you to help me. That was a big lesson. The thought that sitting and feeling sorry for somebody is this luxury because you can be in your feelings and they dont have that time to feel sorry for themselves.
When she first began working with the UNHCR: I realized there are people around the world who want their lives to be dedicated to helping others, finding solutions for others, being a part of the world with each other. It changed my perspective. I just wanted to be a part of the real world. And I wanted to have a life of some meaning.
Her work in Cambodia: Her largest effort has been the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Project, run entirely by local staff serving and supported by their communities. Its a foundation set up in one of the areas of Cambodia that was most affected by the conflict and genocide (in the late 70s, by the Khmer Rouge, led by brutal dictator Pol Pot) We started out nearly 20 years ago, removing landmines from the ground so that local people could return to their homes. Today we help protect a large area of tropical forest in the Cardamom Mountains (southwest part of the country) that is threatened by illegal logging and land encroachment. And we fund two clinics and 16 healthcare staff, serving thousands of patients a year, as well as six primary schools and one secondary school. We also run a womens empowerment program.
Her work in Namibia: Recently, Jolie and her daughter Shiloh worked with a top conservation organization in Namibia, the Naankuse Foundation, to create Shilohs Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is primarily a safe place for elephants and rhinos that have been injured or orphaned due to poachers. They have recently had to move different animals because of the desert expanding, the lakes drying up, she explains.
Her book, Know Your Rights: Children are on the front lines of the struggle for human rights today. We want to ensure every child knows and understands their rights, and how to claim them. Its intended to be a practical guide. It was written for young people and the stories of youth rights activists we consulted are the bedrock of the book. We wanted the book to be open and honest and not to pull punches. Thats why I wrote at the start some adults wont want young people to read it. I hope that this is a book that might inspire a conversation between parents and children. And that it might remind governments that child rights are as real as those of adults.
Why she went to DC to speak about the reauthorization of VAWA: I am asking for protections for children in the Violence Against Women Act reauthorization, which is currently in the hands of the Senate. Theres a child health emergency in our country, caused by the hidden effects of domestic violence. Im asking for trauma care, training for judges and non-biased forensic evidence collection all to be included in the act.
On kindness: I dont think of myself as a kind person. Generosity of spirit, I think thats a better way of putting it. When you go to sleep at night and you feel like youve been of use to another human being, whether its your friend, your child or someone, thats a life worth living.

She?s so inspiring. I?m so happy that I?m an OG Jolie Stan. That?s fascinating about her book and how she?s trying to inform children how to stand up for themselves and their own rights, and how there are many adults who won?t like that. Her list of accomplishments is amazing, and the way she just listed off everything that the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation has done in Cambodia is such a badass move. She?s fundamentally changed thousands of lives for the better just in Cambodia.

Here are some photos of Angelina Jolie today in Rome. She and the cast members basically did a second ?photocall? event following The Eternals premiere last night. This photocall is pretty standard for film promotional tours in Rome they?re on a roof somewhere, and the background is the entire city of Rome. It?s lovely.
Angelina wore a clingy Dolce & Gabbana dress for today?s photocall. She looks beautiful, but I hate this dress! It?s TOO clingy and I feel like we?re seeing too much of her body. I mean, I love that she?s back to dressing in sexier clothing, honestly. The Sack Dress Era was a real thing and it was rough! But I wish she had chosen a different dress. And not D&G.
Meanwhile, I?m pretty interested in seeing how the promotion for The Eternals plays out in the next few weeks. I think it?s interesting that Salma Hayek didn?t make the trip to Rome, and I wonder if certain cities will see different Eternals, etc. One thing I do enjoy is how much Salma and Angelina like each other. Their friendship is pretty cute, and Salma just RAVES about her. I?ve never seen Angelina be so giggly and girly.

Angelina Jolie spent the weekend in Rome, as one does. She actually brought her kids or at least five of her kids to Roma, and when she wasn?t working, they all went sight-seeing. I?m including some photos of their visit to the Spanish Steps! On Sunday, Angelina did the photocall and premiere for The Eternals. She was having a great time at both. It looks like Richard Madden was making her laugh during the photocall, and she was able to bring Shiloh and Zahara with her as her dates to the premiere.
First, the premiere fashion: Angelina and Shiloh both wore Versace. I don?t have an ID on Zahara?s dress, but it was cute. The whole thing was adorable! Shiloh is getting so tall, and she actually wore some makeup for the premiere! But she remains a true skater girl and wore comfortable sneakers with her Versace dress. As for Jolie?s Versace gown? fabulous, iconic, beautiful. I love when she goes full bombshell.
At the photocall, Angelina wore a caped Ralph Lauren in black. She looked lovely.
For the sight-seeing photos, Angie is apparently wearing ?head to toe? Dolce & Gabbana. I wonder if the other kids just stayed at the hotel while Shiloh and Zahara went to the premiere? Maybe all of the kids went, but Shi and Z were the only ones to walk the carpet with mom.

Angelina Jolie and the rest of The Eternals ladies were due to appear at the Elle Women in Hollywood event last night, but it looks like they were exposed to someone with Covid at Monday night?s LA premiere of their film. Hm
?Eternals? stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan and Lauren Ridloff and director Chlo Zhao did not attend Elle?s Women in Hollywood event on Tuesday night due to possible exposure to COVID-19.
?Earlier today we were made aware of a possible exposure to COVID-19, and while all of our talent have tested negative, out of an abundance of caution, we are pivoting to virtual appearances rather than in-person events,? a Disney spokesperson told Variety.
Elle editor-in-chief Nina Garcia made the announcement during the event, saying that they ?were just exposed, so to keep everyone safe those superheroes are now in super isolation.?
It is unclear how the cast members and director may have been exposed to COVID-19, but they were all in attendance at the Los Angeles premiere of ?Eternals? on Monday night.

I mean? IS it unclear? No. Those women attended the premiere on Monday night and then they couldn?t go to an event the next night because they were all mysteriously exposed to Covid at the same time. Someone at the premiere was unvaxxed and unmasked, that?s my guess. And Angelina had five kids with her! I?m assuming most of her kids (if not all) have been vaccinated, but I bet they?re in isolation too.
Meanwhile, I thought that only Zahara wore one of Angelina?s old gowns to the Eternals premiere, but it looks like all of the Jolie-Pitt kids made the effort to either wear vintage or upcycle a look from Angelina?s closet. Jolie said as much on the carpet: My kids are all mixed with vintage, and in my old Oscars dress. We did all vintage and upcycled my old stuff.? She also told Entertainment Tonight that her kids didn?t like her spandex superhero costume in the movie: Would you wanna see your mother wearing that? I dont know, they havent seen the movie, but your mom walks in with a gold spandex outfit and gold hair, theyre like, What do you do for a living? What are you? Get back in your robe. Why is this cracking me up so much? The Jolie-Pitt kids love their mom but they also find her mega-embarrassing.
A cute red carpet interview with Angelina and Kumail!! I wonder if the exposure happened during the interviews.

The Eternals had its big world premiere in LA last night, and Angelina Jolie stole the show, rolling up to the carpet with five of her six children. Pax is the only missing Jolie-Pitt kid, and my guess is that he just opted out because he doesn?t really like to be photographed. Or maybe he had school? So we got to see Knox and Vivienne (who are 13), Zahara (16), Shiloh (15) and Maddox (20). Can?t believe she has all those teenagers and she?s still standing!
Angelina wore this Balmain look in a sludge/mud brown. I wish it had been brighter, but I appreciate that Angelina and the kids sort of coordinated their looks. People are calling this Balmain a ?dress? but I think it?s actually pants. Big, flowy pants. There?s some structure to the top part, and I think it?s basically a built-in bustier, and then there?s some half-sack fabric to make Angelina happy. Her jewelry is vintage Tiffany & Co. and Beladora. The Beladora piece is likely the chin-cuff. How does the chin-cuff make you feel?
As for the kids? I don?t know what designers they?re wearing except for Zahara. Zahara is wearing her mom?s old Elie Saab gown!! Angelina wore that Saab gown to the 2014 Oscars. It looks like Zahara and Angelina took it to a tailor and then made a few edits, but it looks lovely on Z. It feels like this is basically a confirmation that Zahara is the one pulling stuff out of her mom?s closet. I don?t think Shiloh and Vivienne can be bothered, they know their mom is pretty unstylish. Also: Shiloh in a dress! She?s such a tomboy, this is one of the few times we?ve seen her in a dress.
