Julianne Hough is currently in Southport, North Carolina filming Safe Haven, which is an adaptation of yet another insufferable Nicholas Sparks’ novel. On Monday afternoon, she took advantage of a break in her schedule to hit the beach in a neon orange (pink?) bikini. As you can see, that dancer’s body is still going strong, and Julianne has quite the athletic build going on. Julianne might be an uninspired actress, but her body looks fantastic. She’s practically impossible to cut up, right?
Unfortunately, one of our photo agencies has decided to criticize Julianne’s figure in these photos, which were taken in broad daylight and thus don’t boast the advantage of flattering lighting (much like the situation with Scarlett Johansson’s bikini bod from earlier this year). As such, this lighting would be unforgiving to virtually all women because — let’s face it — there’s a reason that professional bikini photo shoots usually take place in the early morning or very late afternoon.
Still, these photos really are worth it for the puppies involved. You guys know how I am about doggie photo ops.
Like I’ve said before, Julianne is capable of taking the occasional bad photo at a bad angle, which can be exacerbated by a sketchily-constructed dress, but her body is insane. Further, she’s actually running in some of these photos, and practically nobody looks their best while running. I usually look like I’m trying not to die while running, and Julianne looks like she’s managing to at least masquerade that feeling.

Her days as a ballroom dancer certainly paid off, as Julianne Hough showed off her svelte swimsuit physique while enjoying a day at the beach with her pet pooch on Sunday (July 15).
Rocking a skimpy tangerine tango bikini, the soon-to-be 24-year-old ran along the Atlantic coast while currently situated in Southport, North Carolina for the filming of her new movie "Safe Haven".
Based on the book by Nicholas Sparks, "Safe Haven" is about "a young woman with a mysterious past who lands in Southport, North Carolina where her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her."
The Lasse Hallstrm directed romance flick co-stars Cobie Smulders, Josh Duhamel and David Lyons while slated for a February 8, 2013 release date.

Hard at work on her latest film, Julianne Hough was spotted making her way around the Wilmington, NC set of her new flick, "Safe Haven" on Wednesday (June 20).
The "Rock of Ages" beauty looked fabulous in a figure-hugging purple dress while sporting some new darker locks. Earlier in the day, Miss Hough was also seen getting in her morning caffeine fix with a cup of coffee to get her through the long day.
Though filming requires hard work and extra long hours, it looks like Julianne is loving her latest project as she took to her Twitter page earlier today, writing, "Yesterday was so great on the set of Safe Haven! Lasse Hallstrom (director) is pure genius! On my way back today to go play make believe!"
In the new Lasse Hallstrom directed movie, a young woman with a mysterious past lands in Southport, North Carolina where her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her.
The romantic film, which is based off of renowned author Nicholas Sparks' novel, is due out in theaters on February 8, 2013.

Zooey Magazine interviewed Julianne Hough for their latest issue (digital issue here) and apparently this chick is Mormon. Sort of. She grew up in the LDS church but moved to London when she was 10 to study dance where she lived with her dance coach for 5 years until she decided to move back to America at 15 to become an actress. Now she’s dating Ryan Seacrest and just starred inRock of Ages with Tom Cruise which flopped at the box office last weekend.
How challenging was it to live with your dance coach for five years?
The woman I lived with in London [Latin Ballroom champion Shirley Ballas] made me strong and not necessarily in the best way. She made me very guarded and she made me a fighter. I had to fight to hold onto myself. She was very tough on me. Honestly I went through things that I don?t think anyone should have to go through but if they hadn?t happened I wouldn?t have the character and the strength I have today.
Did you have anywhere to escape?
There was a bagel shop that was right across the street from where I lived. I didn?t get allowance very often but when I did that was the first place I would go. I would get a cup of tea and a sausage or bacon bagel depending upon what I was in the mood for and I would put HP sauce on it.
What was the reaction when you decided to leave London to be an actress?
Everyone in London told me I was crazy and needed to stay. That I was going to amount to nothing and was going to work at ?Whatever Burger.? I had my whole life set up in London and I knew it would just be me continuing to dance and I would eventually become professional, win world championships, and then I would be a teacher or I would tour around Europe and Asia and do shows and get titles. I knew all this and it?s not what I wanted. I wanted to act, but living with my dance coaches made dance my only option. It was a really hard decision for a 15 year old girl to make, but I needed to do something for me.
You finished high school in Utah where you had been raised in the LDS church. Do you still consider yourself Mormon?
I was raised Mormon and then went to London where it wasn?t part of my life at all and then came back and was super Mormon again and then came to L.A. where I wasn?t around it. Now I?m older and I almost appreciate it more. I hold onto the everyday teachings, but as far as the religious teachings there might be parts I disagree with here and there. I?ve modified it to fit my lifestyle but it taught me great morals and principals. It gave me a sense of what it means to be a nice person, to be humble, what it means to be grateful and a desire to service people.
You?ve been with Ryan Seacrest for two years. What made you fall in-love?
You know, we gush and mush at each other all the time. At dinner we?ll always be sitting there explaining the reasons why we love each other. It?s corny and silly but it?s great. I love talking about Ryan. He?s so genuine and loyal. I didn?t realize?I had perceptions of who I thought he was. On our first date I thought, ?This is so not what I expected.? He?s one of the most thoughtful–not just boyfriends or men–but people I?ve ever met. A lot of the romantic things he does for me are sometimes not even specifically for me. He?ll remember my Mom?s birthday or that it?s Mother?s Day and he?ll send something. I would so much rather him be like that with my family than have him do something for me.
I’m curious as to what preconceived notions she had of Ryan Seacrest. Did she think their first date was going to be a lispy shopping spree at the mall for a pair of faaabulous heels? Because that’s what I think.

Julianne Hough is still busily promoting Rock of Ages ahead of this weekend’s opening, and now the topic of discussion has inevitably come around to her dating relationship with Ryan Seacrest. This story has been forecasted by a 2008 declaration by Julianne of her own enduring virginity when she said, “[I]f you’re just with one person, it’s only for one good reason, and [waiting to have sex] will strengthen that relationship.” More power to her, really. If I had stayed a virgin until marriage, I think that life would be at least slightly less complicated at this point. Just saying.
So my question is this — even though 3+ year later, it’s none of our business whether or not Julianne is still a virgin, yet I’m still admittedly curious about whether or not Ryan would be fine about not having sex with Julianne after they’ve been dating for two years. Of course, I’m not intending to seem judgmental right now, but it’s strange that an alleged virgin would wear this braless, underwearless dress to a premiere, right? Regardless of Julianne’s sexual status, she has now framed her argument in terms of being initially “afraid” of dating Ryan Seacrest because he is so “rich and powerful“:

The star insists she was never worried about Seacrest being 14 years older than her but resisted a relationship because of his wealth and clout in Hollywood.
“I’ve never dated anyone my age but Ryan is definitely the oldest man I?ve dated. Age is irrelevant I think,” she said.
“Mutual friends would be like, ‘You guys would match perfectly.’ And then eventually when I was single, he emailed me. I was very cold. I was nervous about dating him because he is a very scary person. He’s powerful and influential. I was like, ‘No, no, no’ but it just ended up happening. Our inside joke is that we have to schedule scheduling hanging out. But it somehow works.”
Julianne was raised Mormon and had a strict upbringing, and though she is more relaxed now, she admits some of the lessons have stayed with her. “We learned about being humble, thoughtful and grateful, always to see the good in people. No sex before marriage, no drinking alcohol, no drugs, no dating before you are 16, pornography is not good. The thinking is there are certain things that pollute your mind, that aren’t giving you great direction.
“I still try to be a good person — yeah, I like a glass of wine with dinner and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. I think a lot of rules are to guide and protect people from going too far, I know where my limit is — everything in moderation.”

From this latest interview, I would probably infer that “everything in moderation” in relation to Julianne’s perceived vices would mean that she’s possibly having sex at this point. I mean, she’s already admitted to drinking wine, which is a Mormon no-no, so it’s not too far of an assumption to conclude that she might have taken the “no sex before marriage” ban out of circulation as well. Just a thought, and I’m still wondering if Ryan will ever put a ring on it.

Julianne Hough is everywhere these days promoting the crap out of this Rock Of Ages movie, and I for one am grateful. Obviously I have no interest in the movie, but I’m certainly enjoying the show Julianne has been putting on at the many premieres and promotional tours. Here she is at yet another event

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Julianne Hough were both bold on the red carpet for the Rock of Ages Los Angeles premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Let me start out by saying (as a 37-year-old woman) that I highly sympathize with Catherine for having to pose alongside an early-20s, hot young thing. Despite the age difference, I am leaning towards claiming a (slight) win for Catherine here. Let us consider the differences.
Julianne’s dress was a chartreuse Kaufmanfranco silk crepe gown that was cut on the bias. The color was an unconventional choice and appropriate for her first (real) big outing (Footloose doesn’t count). From the front, the dress looks pretty amazing, but something bizarre occurs when Julianne turns around for the requisite “behind” pose. The nude panelling seems to gather up and create the illusion of back fat, which Julianne simply does not possess. Also, are those pre-shadowed butt cheeks installed in the dress? Admittedly, the possibility fascinates me, and I’m wondering if this is a “Ryan Seacrest, tie this butt down with a ring” sort of strategy. Despite the cute butt (and all that it entails), the back view is kind of a disaster for a prospective leading lady.
Julianne’s fresh makeup and hair was fairly appropirate and balanced out some of the mess of the dress. I love the unexpected, lopsided topknot.
In contrast, Catherine’s dress was a Zuhair Murad design and would probably be considered a cocktail dress, but the one-sleeve design (by its own volition) would ideally translate into a design that is bold without being too revealing. However, the black lace with nude underpanelling sort of screams, “Hey, look at me, boys!” Overall, Catherine has the chutzpah to pull this look off without looking too try-hard. But just barely.
The closeup view of Catherine’s makeup is a bit iffy but only because she seems to look “different” these days but in an undefinable way.
Malin Ackerman, on the other hand, was far too showoffy in her black Reem Acra gown with very significant cutouts on the left side. This is far too much skin to be showing off when one isn’t playing a leading lady role, but I think Malin’s general look is rather blah and forgettable, so perhaps she took a worthy risk here. Thoughts?
Fergie and Josh Duhamel were weirder than usual together. I guess he dressed for the occasion, but she just looks like a trashy rock groupie, which is also admittedly appropriate here.
Ashley Tisdale wore a short little cocktail dress to the event that will do nothing to shake her Disney-bred image. Perhaps she should try for a bit of glamour during her next movie premiere outing.
Mary J. Blige wore a shiny black trash bag on the red carpet, but at least it was a fitted, asymmetrically-cut trash bag and not a baggy Angelina Jolie-styled trash bag.
Debbie Gibson and her rockin’ bod wore a pretty cute red dress. She looks great, but I don’t ever think she’ll have a musical comeback.
