In May of this year, Jaime King filed for divorce from her husband Kyle Newman. They have two children, James and Leo, and it looked like Kyle had taken the boys to Pennsylvania in the early days of the pandemic, and that Kyle was raising their sons as a single parent. Jaime accused Kyle of financial abuse and she got a temporary restraining order in LA, which (again) was weird because he had been in Pennsylvania for months at that point. Days later, Kyle counterfiled and spilled all: he claimed that Jaime was and is an addict, and her long-running substance abuse meant that she was incapable of caring for their sons, and it had been like that from the start. Well, sh-t has gotten even worse:
Getting messy. Jaime King?s estranged husband, Kyle Newman, claimed she cleaned out their joint bank accounts and pushed him out of their family home amid their divorce. According to court documents filed on September 2, Newman, 44, alleged that the Hart of Dixie actress, 41, ?emptied and closed? the pair?s joint bank accounts, ?leaving Kyle with minimal access to funds.? In the docs obtained by Us Weekly, Newman requested his estranged wife pay for his legal fees, claiming that his role as a stay-at-home father to their two sons, James, 6, and Leo, 5, makes it hard to pay the $150,000 in costs that he?s already incurred. The docs asked for repayment to the lawyers representing Newman, totaling $70,000.
Newman also claimed that the Transformers: Power of the Primes alum ?excluded him from the family residence? and has prolonged their legal fight, which has led to more legal fees. Us confirmed in May that King filed for divorce from Newman after 13 years of marriage, and although the pair allegedly tried to settle the matter beginning in June, a resolution was not reached. Instead, Newman said that King returned to work and left for Canada to film a new season of Black Summer, leaving him with the kids and ?without support [and] without access to community funds.?
The filing alleged that the Dungeons & Dragons Art & Arcana author is ?without access to the family residence? which contains his personal belongings. ?I continued to be left without the funds necessary to pay for my attorneys, including funds to proceed with preparing and filing requests for support and custody,? he alleged. Newman pointed to King?s past substance abuse issues and his role as primary caregiver to their boys in the docs as the main reasons for his need for financial reimbursement.
?Since the children?s birth? Jaime has rarely been alone with the children,? Newman claimed in the docs. ?I do not recall her ever taking them anywhere by herself- there has always a nanny, godparent? someone to supervise and help her.? He continued: ?By 2015, it became evident to me that Jaime was not capable of taking care of the children ? she simply did not have the faculties or ability to take care of them given her substance abuse issues.?
The New Jersey native noted that he ?reorganized? his life to care for the kids because of ?Jaime?s addiction problems.? Although he is a writer, he claimed that he ?could not accept jobs which required me to leave town? so he is now ?entirely reliant on Jaime for support of myself and the children.? He concluded that King?s decision to close their accounts has left him ?in financially dire straits.?

Usually it?s the men cleaning out the joint bank accounts in a divorce. This sh-t got crazy-messy from the word go, and I have to say? I kind of believe Kyle?s side of things, although Im open to the possibility that theirs was a massively dysfunctional relationship and he was possibly emotionally abusing her (and maybe financially abusing her too). I also think it?s extremely worrisome that Jaime would empty bank accounts if she?s still dealing with a drug addiction meaning, is that money already gone? If Kyle is telling the truth about everything, then this is going to be a prolonged legal battle over finances and custody and it?s going to leave them both broke.

About two weeks ago, Jaime King filed for divorce from her husband Kyle Howard. She sought a restraining order and she got one, a temporary one until their court date on June 8. She filed for divorce in California, but it seems like Kyle has been in Pennsylvania with their two sons throughout the pandemic. He told the court, in his own filing, that he?s been the solo parent for years, and the custody issue will start to be worked out this month as well. Then Kyle filed his response to her divorce filing and it was full of horrific claims about Jaime King. According to him, she?s a chronic alcoholic and drug abuser who has been in and out of rehab several times to no avail. He even tried to do an intervention this year and she only stayed in rehab for a day. He claimed that she used drugs (pills, opioids) and drank through both of her pregnancies too. From his filing:
I have spent the last decade and more trying to get Jaime help, covering for her when she was drunk, high, driving under the influence, missing for days at a time, late for work, fighting with friends, family, coworkers, employees, excusing her innumerable infidelities as being only the result of the drugs, and taking care of her when she was out of her mind, delusional, or catatonic as a result of her substance abuse and eating disorders. I have done everything I can think of to try and get her well so she can be the mother to our children that I know she can be, including interventions, working with her doctors to wean her off opiates, and trying to convince her to get into rehab many, many timesSince the birth of our children, I have struggled more and more with trying to balance helping Jaime and protecting the kids.

As we also covered, Jaime reacted by saying that Kyle was abusive, that he stalked her and that he stole money from her. Basically, it?s going to be a while before a lot of this gets worked out. Since the filings, Jaime has been seen out with a mystery man, lending some credence to Kyle?s claim that she has been unfaithful. And that?s not all her publicist is pushing stories like this to People Magazine:
As Jaime King and Kyle Newman approach a court date that may determine custody of their two sons, a source close to the actress tells PEOPLE the star is staying strong with support from loved ones.
Its been a difficult time, but shes leaning on friends, says the source. Shes been doing a lot of yoga and meditation.
After filming the upcoming season of her Netflix show Black Summer earlier this year, King ? who is also a producer on the series ? is keeping busy with work and post-production while trying to lay low, adds the source.

I mean? a week ago, they were lobbing horrendous accusations at each other and now Jaime is all ?who me, I?m just meditating and doing yoga.? I wonder if she still has any kind of real support network left, especially considering the 14-person intervention Kyle apparently arranged in January. After so many years again, allegedly of drug and alcohol abuse, how many of those loved ones are now trying tough love, get-your-sh-t-together love or ?I have to disengage from this now? love? But I?m sure some People readers will buy it.

Last week, Jaime King filed for divorce from her husband Kyle Newman and she tried to file for two more things: an emergency custody order and a temporary restraining order. The custody order was not granted, and the restraining order was granted against Newman until June 8th, which is apparently when some of this will be figured out in a court appearance. After the judge rejected the custody order, Newman released a statement basically saying that Jaime has issues and he?s been taking care of their two sons ?solo? during the pandemic, and reportedly he?s in Pennsylvania while she?s in LA. They likely haven?t seen each other in months. I?ve seen many commenters immediately take her side but I?ve mostly just been waiting for more information. It seemed like there was more stuff about to come out. And now it is:
Jaime King and Kyle Newman are in an all-out war for their kids with Kyle now saying he needs sole physical custody because her alleged opioid and alcohol addiction is out of control. The director requested an emergency hearing Friday morning, asking the judge to let him take custody of their 6 and 4-year-old sons, James and Leo. According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Kyle claims the actress/model has spent the last decade high and refuses to get any meaningful help for her opioid addictions.
Kyle says things came to a head on January 12, when he and 14 of Jaimes friends staged an intervention begging her to get help. He gave her an ultimatum get treatment or the kids and I need to leave for their own safety.
Kyle claims Jaime went to Cirque Lodge rehab facility in Utah, but left shortly after arriving because she tried to check in with a bunch of pills on her including Adderall and Clonazepam. In the docs, he says Jaime was working in Canada in early February and asked him to send the boys to spend a couple weeks with her but 3 days into the visit she sent them back to Kyle. He claims she later admitted she was having an affair and using booze and drugs at the time.
Kyle says he and the boys have been quarantining in Pennsylvania, and Jaime has only seen them for 3 days in the past 2 months. On May 15, he says he and Jaime were laying out plans to divorce, when she accused him of stealing their kids even though she was the one who insisted they go to Pennsylvania. He tried to reassure her, but claims she got angrier and threatened to ruin him.
TMZ broke the story Jaime filed divorce docs on May 18, and also requested a restraining order to keep Kyle away from her and the kids. As we reported, the judge ruled the boys could remain with Kyle, who says Jaime blindsided him with her court filings. Two nannies and one of Jaimes former assistants submitted declarations, describing her alleged addiction to opioids, and claim shes putting the children at risk by among other things driving with them while under the influence.
Kyle is asking for sole physical custody, shared legal custody and wants Jaime out of the family home in L.A. so he can live there with their sons. Friday morning, the judge rejected his emergency order for custody, and said both sides can argue their cases at a later court date. So for now, its status quo the kids can remain with Kyle in Pennsylvania.

Holy YIKES. TMZ also had updates on the situation, including accusations from Jaime that Kyle has been ?tormenting? her for years and isolating her from friends:
A rep for King tells us, This is another vicious, failed attempt of Kyle to continue his abuse of Jaime and manipulate the court system. Today Kyle was denied all requests for emergency orders and the judge granted Jaime shared legal custody of their two children. The temporary domestic violence restraining order remains in place to protect Jaime.
The judge ruled that Kyle must stay away from Jamie, and weve obtained the documents filed by the actress alleging torment. King alleges Kyle has tracked her electronically, isolated her from friends and work opportunities and has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars out of their account. She says she feels sick to her stomach with every encounter with Kyle.

If he could get ?two nannies and one of Jaimes former assistants? to submit declarations to the court on such short notice, he?s probably got a lot of documentation to back up his claims. That being said, both stories could be true she could be an addict who endangered the lives of her children AND he could be an emotionally abusive, controlling SOB. In fact, those two dysfunctional personalities end up together often enough. My Spidey sense told me last week that there was a lot of mess about this split and now that same Spidey sense is telling me that these two are going to lob accusations at each other for months.

The only time I?ve really paid attention to Jaime King?s private life is that time that she asked Taylor Swift to be godmother to one of her children. That?s when I found out that Jaime is married to Kyle Newman and they have two sons together Taylor is godmother to the younger son, 4-year-old Leo Thomas. Anyway, I don?t remember much about Jaime other than those facts and this 2015 interview where she got a bit patronizing about how pregnancy is the ?ultimate symbol of womanhood and beauty.? They?ve been quiet as a family for years. And now this: Jaime has filed for divorce, and she also asked for a restraining order.
Jaime King wants out of her marriage shes just filed for divorce, and based on the documents it doesnt appear to be an amicable split.
TMZs learned the model/actress filed legal docs Monday in L.A. to divorce her husband, director Kyle Newman, to whom shes been married to since 2007. Its unclear what led to the divorce filing, but we know this Jaime is also requesting a restraining order against him. The nature of her request or whether it was granted are not known at this time.
Jaime and Kyle have two sons together a 6-year-old and 4-year-old, whose godmother is reportedly Taylor Swift. Jaime and Kyle met while working on Fanboys which Kyle directed.
The news comes almost 8 months after a man who terrorized Jaime for months including a bizarre attack in Bev Hills was sentenced to nearly 5 years behind bars for felony stalking. We mention that only to point out Jaimes had a rough go of it lately, and now apparently feels she needs court ordered protection from her estranged husband.

Yeah, TMZ didn?t have any more info and they would be the outlet to have more info and People Magazine basically made the restraining order a footnote in their coverage. I think there could be a lot of different possibilities for the restraining order, and all of those possibilities are pretty bad. I hope Jaime and her sons stay safe. And I wonder if this is yet another coronavirus split to add to the pile.

Jaime King was a guest on Busy Philipps show last week. Shes promoting her Netflix series Black Summer, which premieres April 11. Jamie was on White Chicks with Busy in 2004 and they did a White Chicks dance off with other stars Jessica Cauffiel and Brittany Daniel, and it included Sonique from Drag Race! You can see that here. Jaime couldnt dance as she had an injury, but she was there too. They talked about Jaimes upcoming birthday and she hyped turning 40 like she couldnt wait for it, since everyone else says its the best age.

After that they showed a photo of the sculpture that Jaime did of Kate Moss face. It wasnt bad! Jaime also explained how she broke her hand and tore ligaments in her ankle when she was filming for her new series. Ive heard so many horror stories about actors getting injured on set like that and it sounded awful.
Im in my mid 40s. A year or two ago I would have said say that your 40s are awesome and that you do feel sexier, but now that Im going through perimenopause Im not as sure. No matter what other women tell you about menopause youre not prepared for how brutal it can be. At least thats my experience. As far as your identity you do give less of a sh-t as you get older, you know what you like and youre less willing to compromise. Theres something awesome about that definitely.

Jaime King is a pretty strong person. Not only did she transition from runway to film with enough success to maintain a career for two decades but she overcame a heroin addiction and infertility to give birth to two sons, James and Leo. Jaime has been very open about her struggle to get and stay pregnant and it wasn?t until after her first child that she found out why. Jaime suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis, which led to years of failed infertility treatments and the heartache of multiple miscarriages. Fortunately, Jaime has spoken out many times on the subject to help shed light on it. Now she’s expanding the discussion on PCOS and endometriosis to menstruation so that women don?t go undiagnosed for years like she did.
A big shift in me happened when I was diagnosed with endometriosis and poly-cystic ovary syndrome, which are very painful reproductive illnesses. I also had countless miscarriages and almost lost my children.
I thought that because my womb didn?t work the way I was taught it should work, I was broken. We are told as women that our great value is to be able to carry life, to carry a child. If we?re fertile and abundant, we?re a worthy goddess. But for some reason, those parts don?t function for some of us.
When I was told I couldn?t carry a child, it crushed me in a way that was so much deeper than I could explain. I felt ashamed that I was suffering every day. I would wake up in pools of blood, and feel ashamed. And then I said, fuck this. I?m not going to be ashamed.
We need to talk about these things. We grow up with a mentality that menstruation is not supposed to be painful, and if it is, you deal with it yourself and don?t complain. We need to talk about this and spread as much awareness as we can. Girls as young as 12 get diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS. When you?re living with it, it can be constant agony.
The possibility of Planned Parenthood being defunded sends me into such a rage. The free birth control provided by Planned Parenthood not only suppresses endometriosis, but also protects your fertility. So girls who don?t know they have endometriosis are at least treating it with birth control and taking the only medication out there to suppress these conditions. It?s preserving life.

Reading this article gave me a little context to when she said, “Pregnancy is the ultimate symbol of womanhood, beauty and sensuality??, which is a sentiment I can?t stand. Have a baby or don?t ? every person who identifies as a woman is the ultimate symbol of womanhood. I had long held this against Jaime but it sounds like it was much more of a reaction of how she felt her own body had failed her when she was trying to conceive. That is a traumatic experience and I can?t judge how she processed it. This excerpt sounds like she?s shifted her thoughts since her diagnosis, like she realizes the way she viewed her inability to reproduce was taught to her and that that is not a healthy thing to perpetuate. Good for her, it takes a big person to admit they?ve changed their mind and it?s healthy for people to hear.
I have never suffered from PCOS or endometriosis but I understand from those who have that it’s brutal. I did have crippling cramps in my youth. I mean vomit-from-the-pain agony. I decided at the age of 14 to have a hysterectomy to end it. My doctor talked me into birth control pills instead, which I guess I am grateful for now. So, yes, I agree we need to talk about it. I cannot believe that needs to be said in 2017. If a girl can be diagnosed at age 12 and allowed to manage what would otherwise be a lifetime of pain, shouldn?t she be?

Jaime King is promoting something called “Rogue One: Recon – A Star Wars 360 Experience” which from what I can figure out is a video made by Verizon which you can move around to make it feel like you’re piloting a spacecraft from the movie. Despite all the issues I’ve heard they’ve had with the film (reshoots primarily) I’m looking forward to seeing Rogue One when it comes out in mid December, and these kind of promotional tie-ins do work to remind people, I think.
Jaime has a new interview with Wonderwall in which she talks about how she limits her children’s access to technology and television, apart from certain exceptions like movies and the system My Baby Can Read. I’ve seen the infomercials for this but I never knew if it was just a put on or not. Jaime swears it works though and that her kids were recognizing flash cars by six months old. She also says that she doesn’t let her kids have iPhones or iPads with some minor exceptions. She sounds like Meghan Fox in that way. Jamie and her husband, director Kyle Newman, have two boys, James, three, and Leo, 16 months.
On limiting her kids’ access to technology
“I don’t really actually allow my children to use iPads or iPhones. It’s very, very, very rare. The new studies that have come out have shown that if a child is 18 months old or under, they should not have any screen time at all. If they’re 4 years old or under, they should be limited to an hour or so a day. I allow James Knight to watch things that he loves like ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ or something along those lines — like something that’s a great film. But not just junk.”
She swears by “Your Baby Can Read”
“The one thing that I’ve always done since they were babies is something called ‘Your Baby Can Read!’ My children [James Knight and Leo Thames Newman] have been able to read flashcards since they were 6 months old — before they could even speak. That’s something that really changed things for me as a mom that I utilize technology for. It’s just a simple DVD. But that’s the only, only time they get screen time is specifically ‘Your Baby Can Read!’ because it’s really a game-changer.”

When my son was an infant the big thing was teaching them sign language. He was able to make simple signs for things he wanted like “eat” and “drink” and knew some objects like “bird,” “dog,” and “cat.” I remember him making signs for things before he could talk and that was kind of wonderful because it helped us communicate. How does this “My Baby Can Read” system work exactly? Kids don’t usually talk at six months, in most cases they don’t talk until they’re around a year old I thought. I looked up the reviews for it and many people say it doesn’t work and is a money scam although some users (who may or may not be genuine) say it works. It seems like one of the mommy bragging things that doesn’t end up mattering in the scheme of a child’s development, but there’s nothing I like more than bragging about my smart kid and I just did it so I can’t blame Jamie King for talking about it. Plus, how much do you want to bet she’s being paid by this company to promote them?

At last night?s Star Wars: The Force Awakens world premiere in LA, there was some cosplay and some theme-dressing on the red carpet. I have to think that?s what Jaime King was trying to do ? theme-dressing. To Jaime, this Monse dress looked sort of Star Wars-y and intergalactic. Is it though? Or is it just sort of fug? If you make her skin green, I could see her as a cigarette girl at the Cantina.

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello walked their first red carpet at a married couple for this premiere. I have to wonder? which one of them is into Star Wars? Sofia is a big deal to Disney/ABC, so maybe she was required to come out for a Disney property. Or maybe Joe is a secret Star Wars geek, like many men of his generation. In any case, they thankfully didn?t theme-dress.
Janelle Monae looks DIFFERENT, right? Something with her eyes, I believe. Maybe it?s just makeup and styling. Maybe she was trying to look sort of weird and unusual, but I could swear that she looks a bit tweaked too. Her Star Wars-themed dress is Erevos Aether. It?s okay.
Am I alone in sort of loving Karrueche Tran?s look here? I think she?s really pretty anyway, but I love her Star Wars-themed hair and I love the snazzy white suit. She looks great.
