It?s been a week full of K-Stew controversy, but Kristen has finally given us (me) what we wanted: an apology and an acknowledgement that she was talking out of her ass. It all started when excerpts began to be released from Kristen?s Elle UK cover profile. Kristen was describing the paparazzi experience, and she said - among other comments - ?What you don?t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction? All you see is an actor or a celebrity lit up but a flash. It?s so?The photos are so?I feel like I?m looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can?t handle it. I never expected that this would be my life.? I told Kristen to STFU, as did many of you, and many other bloggers and readers out there. Rape crisis directors even got involved, saying that Kristen used ?a poor choice of words?. So, long story short, the sh-t hit the fan, and now Kristen has backed down with a statement to People Magazine and an apology:
No sooner did excerpts from July’s British Elle make their way to the Internet on Wednesday than the blogosphere exploded in outrage.
In an offending quote, Twilight saga star Kristen Stewart compared paparazzi photos of herself to images of a woman being raped. Almost immediately, everyone from fans to spokespeople for rape victims’ advocacy organizations were publicly criticizing the actress.
“I really made an enormous mistake ? clearly and obviously,” Stewart, currently in Korea to promote the new installment of the Twilight series Eclipse, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “And I’m really sorry about my choice of words.”
Stewart, 20, is not known as one to mince words. “I’ve made stupid remarks before, and I’ve always reasoned: ‘Whatever. They can think what they want,’ ” she says.
But in this instance, the Los Angeles-born actress feels compelled to address the situation. ” ‘Violated’ definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought,” she notes.
In fact, the issue of violence against women is one that has been close to Stewart since playing a victim of rape in the 2004 film Speak. She has done public service announcements for the advocacy group RAINN and for SOC.
The irony of the situation in which Stewart now finds herself is not lost on the actress.
“People thinking that I’m insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake.”
[From People]
Okay, I?m personally calling off my fatwa against her - not that I was even totally up in arms, I was more disappointed that a young woman who I had thought was intelligent and reasonable made such a dumb Megan Fox-esque move. I wanted her to acknowledge that she shouldn?t have used those words, and I wanted her to apologize, and she did both. She?s back in my good graces (not that it matters to her).

She compared paparazzi stalking to being raped in a recent interview, and now Kristen Stewart is saying she?s sorry for the poor judgment in word choice.
The ?Adventureland? babe told press, ?I really made an enormous mistake- clearly and obviously. And I?m really sorry about my choice of words. ?Violated? definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought.?
Ms. Stewart added, "People thinking that I'm insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake."
As for reports that she and costars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner won?t be attending the UK premiere of ?Eclipse,? Kristen says there?s nothing she can do about it.
?We don?t get to choose where we go. We?re told which premieres we are attending. We don?t have a say in it. There is nothing we can do.?

As soon as people got their hands on Kristen Stewart?s Elle UK interview, there were a series of quotes that immediately got passed around. Kristen was discussing fame, the paparazzi, and how she handled everything. Instead of showing a bit of grace, or acknowledging that she is part of a corporate machine hellbent on making billions of dollars on the idea of vampires who sparkle. Instead, Kristen said:
?What you don?t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction? All you see is an actor or a celebrity lit up but a flash.?
?It?s so?The photos are so?I feel like I?m looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can?t handle it. I never expected that this would be my life.?
?Your little persona is made up of all the places that people have seen you and what has been said about you. And usually the places that I am are so overwhelming in the moment and fleeting for me?like one second where I?ve said something stupid, that?s me, forever.?

Most of us reacted with a simple ?STFU, K-Stew.? But you knew more was coming - and it did. Radar gets the executive director of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault to go on the record about Kristen?s ?poor choice of words.”
Rape crisis groups are not happy with Kristen Stewart’s bizarre comment that being famous is almost like being “raped.”
“What you don’t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction,” the Twilight starlet told the latest issue of Britain’s Elle Magazine.
“The photos are so … I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped.”
Not surprisingly, the analogy has drawn stiff criticism from rape support groups around the globe.
“Clearly that kind of violation is not the same as rape… it’s just not the same,” said Harriet Lessel, the executive director of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.
“I understand that Kristen Stewart was expressing that she feels violated. Sure violation is a form of sexual assault, but it’s the most serious and the most personal. It’s clearly a poor choice of words.”
Stewart also used the interview to admit it is “annoying” when she is relentlessly asked if she and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson are an item.
The 20-year-old said: “What I say is, that, why would I want anything that’s private to become entertainment for other people? … People say that if I just tell them everything I?ll be left alone, but God, you think if I tell people they?ll leave me alone? They pick up every little scrap, and that?s much worse.”
[From Radar]
I think Harriet Lessel?s criticism is kind of an understatement. Obviously, rape crisis centers around the world don?t want to make an enemy of the Twilight franchise. They would be bombarded with Twihard civil disobedience, I think. Protesters, sit-ins, badly-written letters, all to defend Kristen?s asinine ?rape? statement. Kristen just needs to back down and say ?Actually, now that I?ve thought about it, it?s nothing like rape. The paparazzi are just inconvenient.?

Headed off to a new locale, Kristen Stewart was spotted prepping to leave Sydney, Australia on Wednesday morning (June 2).
With Taylor Lautner making the airport entrance nearby, the Bella Swan babe was shielded as the airport scene soon turned to chaos - with security manhandling photographers as police officers threatened to arrest the shutterbugs as they neared the security checkpoint.
After attending numerous press junkets in the Land Down Under, K-Stew and Taylor are off for more "Eclipse" promoting in Seoul.

Okay, you closet Twitards, you’re about to cream your little sparkle pants because here is a peek up Kristen Stewart’s skirt. Or maybe it’s not her underwear at all, that could be The Real Thing. She’s so damn pale, that could literally be the place where the sun don’t shine.

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were sent down to Australia for a little early promotion for Eclipse. These photos are from a photo call on Monday - what do you think of Kristen?s bright yellow skirt? Eh. Her style is so weird. She?s got a nice figure, but too often she wears clothes that don?t really do much. Plus, she slouches. That oh-so-cool hipster slouch. Sorry, I?m still very much in a ?I want to smack that self-righteous, self-pitying eyeroll off her doucheface? mood.
Pour a 40 out for Sparkles, because he was not invited to go along, and that?s a shame. I like Kristen better when she?s trying to avoid touching him. Actually, I think he probably got out of it because he?s filming in California for Water for Elephants. Lucky bloke. Anyway, those Aussie tweens are f-cking crazy, as evidenced last month by The Great Bieber Revolt (in which hundreds of Bieb-ettes went crazy and one of his shows had to cancelled). For one of Kristen and Taylor?s appearances, a short Q & A session, 4,000 Twihards showed up and basically just screamed their heads off for an hour.
But don?t think that Americans are the only nationality with Twihard cougars - oh no. Australia also has some ladies of indeterminate age who love some Sparkles and Taylor Lautner. When asked about the cougars, Taylor replied, ?They are twice as dangerous, three, four. You get mums that ask you to take your shirt off or sign their underwear? there?s a lot of stuff. They are definitely the most passionate and we love our cougar mums.? Aw? yeah, poor Taylor. I bet he gets propositioned by 50-year-old Twi-moms all the time. But you know who isn?t gracious at all? That?s right, everyone?s favorite sourpuss, Kristen Stewart. Coming off her stunning interview in Elle UK - where she seemed to compare the paparazzi to rapists - she decided to flip the bird to photographers, and then bitch about being hounded to anyone who would listen. According to Radar, one fan asked for Kristen?s autograph, but she refused. The fan told Radar: ?She was just in a bad mood because of the photographers. She sprinted along the wharf trying to get away. She was swearing at them and tried running into a restaurant, but the door was locked. She was saying, ‘Stop taking my picture’.”

Spending the Memorial Day weekend in the Land Down Under, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were hot on the promotional trail over the past few days.
On Monday (May 31), the Bella Swan babe and her Jacob Black co-star stud got dressed up to attend "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" Live Q & A at Luna Park in Sydney, Australia.
Seeming to be having a marvelous time, Kristen and Taylor joked around while answering queries about their characters and the upcoming vampire flick's latest installment.
The previous day, Miss Stewart and Mr Lautner fit in a little sightseeing, as they hopped aboard a watercraft while sharing a harbour cruise.
Meanwhile, the "Twilight" twosome will next be heading off to Seoul for more pres duties slated for June 3rd.

I?m sorry I missed these quotes when I was doing that post about Kristen Stewart?s Elle UK cover story. In the interview, apparently Kristen was predictably insolent, per usual. Instead of being gracious about the fame, money and opportunities the Twilight franchise has offered her, Kristen decided to compare the attention to being raped. For real. Then, in nearly the same breath, she complains about being quoted correctly when she says something idiotic - you know, like she just did when she compared photographers to rapists.
“It’s so…The photos are so…I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can’t handle it. I never expected that this would be my life.”
“What you don’t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction…All you see is an actor or a celebrity lit up but a flash.”
“Your little persona is made up of all the places that people have seen you and what has been said about you. And usually the places that I am are so overwhelming in the moment and fleeting for me?like one second where I’ve said something stupid, that’s me, forever.”

Look, I?m not nave, I know there are some skuzzy, nasty paparazzi out there, and I know Kristen and Robert Pattinson have probably put up with a lot of sh-t from people who just want a piece of them - whether it?s the fans, the photographers or people just look for some connection or some way to make some money. And you know what? That sucks. They have every right to say it sucks. But to compare it to being raped? Give me a break, Kristen.

Ever since the ?Twilight? fever began, she?s been constantly on-the-go, and Kristen Stewart is looking forward to having some time off in the not-too-distant future.
And when she?s finished promoting ?Eclipse,? the ?Adventureland? babe says she?ll have some downtime to enjoy.
?Oddly enough I have a really clean horizon, I?m excited about the last few films I did coming out but other than that ? I always have my next three things planned out so to have a clean horizon is pretty nice.?
But she won?t be on the couch for too long- production on ?Breaking Dawn? is scheduled to start later this year.
