Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart leaving her hotel to attend the New York premiere/screening of Personal Shopper. Kristen is one of Karl Lagerfeld?s muses and one of the faces of Chanel, so obviously she wore a Chanel dress to the premiere. While I actually loved Kristen?s newly shaved blonde buzzcut a few days ago, I?m having some mixed feelings about this hair with such a pale dress. Yes, it?s very striking. And I don?t think my issue is with her hair, it?s with the dress. I think the turtleneck is my problem here? It would be a much better look overall with a high neck but lower than a t-neck. I also think the hip pockets are awkward.
As for her buzzcut, Kristen has been doing the media rounds in NYC and she explained how it?s for her next role where she plays a mechanic on a submarine. She wanted to look more badass and less frilly, basically. She also says that she?d always wanted to try a buzzcut or a shaved head. Seeing her in motion with this hair is? interesting. She really looks SO different. And honestly, she reminds me of vintage Angelina Jolie.

Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend. She?s in Sundance to promote her short film, Come Swim. It?s her directorial debut, and the short film apparently involves artificial intelligence. Kristen became so interested in AI that she ended up coauthoring a research paper on the subject for Cornell?s online research database. I?m being completely serious ? you can read more about it here. NY Mag excerpted a few lines out of the paper and I honestly thought she was talking in circles, but sure. Good for her.
But the real story is that Variety asked K-Stew about Donald Trump, aka Emperor Baby Fists. Some people might have forgotten, but back during the heat of the Mini-Coopering Scandal of 2012 ? wherein Kristen was ?outed? by Us Weekly for having an affair with her then-married director Rupert Sanders ? Donald Trump loved to tweet about Kristen. Back then, he was just a dumb and annoying Twitter troll who would do anything for intention (gee, so much has changed). He found that he got BIGLY attention when he drew the ire of the Twihards. Which led to tweets like this:

I will never understand Pink eye makeup. I?m just putting that out there ? I think Pink eye makeup is some kind of trick being played on women, because it never looks good. These are photos of Kristen Stewart at the New York premiere of Billy Lynn?s Long Halftime Walk, which was directed by Ang Lee. Kristen is fashioning an impressive career for herself these days, carefully choosing independent films, European filmmakers and smaller parts in bigger movies with prestigious directors. Ang Lee is one of the greatest directors working today, and I suspect Kristen would have done any role for Ang, in any film. Her role in this is supporting, but it?s a significant move for her to work with someone like Ang Lee.
As for her fashion? um? this look is Rodarte. Kristen has been wearing so much Chanel lately, I was surprised to see her in Rodarte, and in an ensemble that is quite? challenging. It?s quite a look, I?ll say that. I guess she?s probably channeling David Bowie with the hair and makeup, and the pants seem more like Mick Jagger. The blouse is not rock and roll, unless we?re talking about cheesy ?80s hair bands.
What else? Everyone?s talking about how Kristen is totally loved up with St. Vincent now. They?ve been spending a lot of time in New York together over the past few weeks. St. Vincent is fresh off a break up with Cara Delevingne. And surprisingly – ??? ? St. Vincent, Cara and Kristen all ended up at the same place last Thursday: the Bowery Ballroom. Cara was there with Taylor Swift and the squad. Kristen and St. Vincent were presumably there together. Awkward? Who knows. My vibe is that Cara is one to hold a grudge, especially if she was the one who got dumped, but we really don?t know.
Last thing: one of Kristen?s new films is Certain Women, currently making its way through film festivals now. It just won the big award at the BFI London Film Festival. I?m telling you, Kristen is making some really smart career choices.

A couple of weeks ago, Kristen Stewart went dramatically blonde. I said I liked the blonde, mostly because I really, really hated Kristen?s previous hair look, which was half-fried blonde and half-dark-roots, and all-unwashed. Many of you disagreed though, and I understand why: the blonde was too yellow, and she did look washed out. Well, now Kristen has changed up her hair a little bit more. These photos are from last night?s New York Film Festival premiere of Certain Women. Kristen seems to have gone shorter, although the blonde still looks like a single-process job that doesn?t really work on her. She truly gives off a Billy Idol vibe.
For the NYFF premiere, Kristen wore this Sandro Paris suit which? no, I don?t like it. I don?t mind that Kristen wears suits/pants/whatever. She?s more comfortable in pants, I get that. But she has the worst taste in dressy pants and trousers. This suit looks so dated and low-quality.
I know she?s promoting Certain Women right now, but there?s some news about one of her other films, Personal Shopper. She was directed by Olivier Assayas, who also directed her in her Cesar-award-winning performance in The Clouds of Sils Maria. Kristen will likely be promoting Personal Shopper a lot this month too, and you can tell that she?s proud of her work with Assayas. He?s proud of her too ? in a recent interview, he described her as an actress with ?an infinitely larger range than many actresses of her generation. She has an inner depth coupled with a spontaneity and naturalness that sets her apart. She also has an innate understanding of cinema that makes me believe she could succeed at directing too.? I get that he?s just trying to compliment Kristen specifically, but it reads as shade against other actresses, right? Especially since I don?t really associate Kristen with having amazing range. For much of the spring and summer, I was complaining endlessly about Kristen Stewart?s dumb hair. I understood why her hair was dumb, don?t get me wrong! I just thought she should have found a better solution to her hair issues. The problem was that Kristen?s hair was overprocessed after doing several films back-to-back, and I think she was just tired of dyeing and re-dyeing it and she just wanted to let it go natural for several months. That left her with the worst roots ever, combined with the fact that she didn?t seem to washing her hair at all. It just looked awful.
But a new K-Stew has emerged out of the Bad Hair Cocoon. And it?s a beautiful platinum-blonde butterfly! While I don?t necessarily think this shade of blonde is Kristen?s color, I?m just so relieved to see her do something different with her hair. So I sort of love this, actually. She got a shorter haircut too, and I like the sort of Bowie-styling she?s using. These photos are from a Chanel promotional dinner in LA, at the Sunset Tower, where Lily-Rose Depp was acting as hostess. Lily-Rose is one of the faces of Chanel, as is Kristen, and I?m including some photos of Lily-Rose too.
As for the fashion? Kristen makes her Chanel ensemble look comfortable and wearable. Lily-Rose makes her Chanel ensemble look? um, inappropriate? I don?t even know what word to use here. Lily-Rose is 17 years old going on 38.

This is one of Kristen Stewart?s most beautiful magazine covers in a while, right? Kristen covers the new issue of the NYT?s T Magazine to promote Personal Shopper, her latest film with director Olivier Assayas. Kristen?s whole shoot with T Mag is incredible ? you can see the full package here. Impressively, Kristen really gave it all to the New York Times too ? she invited the journalist into her Los Feliz home, showed the journalist her journal, her poems, her paintings and all of the stuff she collected over the years from film sets. This piece is basically a great read just for the description of how Kristen lives. But the actual quotes are great too ? in between puffs of cigarettes, she talks about her girlfriend Alicia Cargile, the Robsten stuff and more. Some highlights:
Her anxiety has eased up: She used to suffer from ?debilitating physical anxiety? but she?s in a better place now: ?I do think that?s because of the storms I have weathered. It?s not that they make you stronger or calloused ? but they do make you a human.?
Introvert/extrovert: ?I?m not the typical showman. But at the same time, I want so badly to expose myself. I want to be understood and I want to be seen, and I want to do that in the rawest, purest, most naked way I can.?
Looking back on Robsten: ?People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn?t real life anymore. And that was gross to me. It?s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I?m doing in my life. It?s that I don?t want to become a part of a story for entertainment value.?
Her girlfriend Alicia Cargile. She scrolls through pictures of the two of them on her private Instagram account. ?Look how cute she is,? Stewart says at one point. ?I love her so much.?
Not hiding her sexuality: ?I would never talk about any of my relationships before, but once I started dating girls it seemed like there was an opportunity to represent something really positive. I still want to protect my personal life, but I don?t want to seem like I?m protecting the idea, so that does sort of feel like I owe something to people.?
Navigating fame post-Mini-Coopering: ?How do you feel like you?re not being stolen from yet at the same time not guard yourself to the point of depriving yourself of so much goodness in life? Nothing killed me. I was skinny as hell, I looked crazy, but I was fine. I now have faith in my body to carry on, and that has made me a better actor.?

The rest of the piece is worth a read because while Kristen is sometimes painfully self-aware, everything about her just seems lighter, more at peace and generally happier these days. The 2009 version of Kristen would have never allowed a journalist into her home, much less showed the journalist her poems, her paintings, her stuff. I don?t want to say that this is because she?s happy with Alicia now, although I do think that?s part of it. I think the larger story is that Kristen has just grown into her skin, she?s become herself, if that makes sense. As for what she says about Rob and how the press around their relationship became gross? sure. I can see why she would say that. But let?s remember that this is also the self-sabotaging girlfriend who cheated on Rob and then PUBLICLY begged for his forgiveness. Some of the publicity around Robsten was her doing, I?m just saying.

I?ve always sort of enjoyed Kristen Stewart?s style even when I?ve hated on particular ensembles. Kristen has grown up before our eyes, and she quickly traded in the Bella Swan-princess look for something edgier, quirkier and more rock ?n roll. And I genuinely like that she?s been figuring it out as she goes along. She doesn?t have one particular look. She tries different things, different hairstyles, different style-personalities and tries to figure out what fits. Which made her a perfect choice for the Balenciaga contract she had several years back, and that?s what makes her a terrible fit for her current Chanel contact. Still, Kristen tries. She tries to promote Chanel, even when Karl Lagerfeld gives her terrible clothes to wear on the red carpet (see: the photos in this post). So how does Kristen describe her style?
With her platinum-blonde undercut hairstyle, how does Stewart describe her fashion-forward look these days?
?It?s f–king dope!? Stewart proudly told Vanity Fair at the screening presented by the Cinema Society. ?My style is a little edgy and different. It?s fun to wear clothes that show off my personality, and I feel way more comfortable and confident when I do. It?s boring if I look like everyone else. I like to be different, even if other people don?t like what I?m wearing.?
Director Woody Allen is a big fan of Stewart?s fashion and aesthetic. When he first saw her in the 2014 drama Clouds of Sils Maria, he knew she would be perfect to play a 1930s secretary torn between two men in Caf Society.
?Kristen had the right qualities for this story, and there were very few people who did,? said Allen. ?She has a very beautiful look that could be a girl from Nebraska?simple, corn-fed, and nave?and could transform easily into a very sophisticated and elegant woman. Not every woman can do that. And there are some that could play one and not the other. I needed someone like Kristen to play this kind of character, and she was ready to do it. She?s really great.?

I like Kristen?s confidence! Truly. She wore a terrible Chanel dress but she wore it with pride and her confidence helped sell it? a little bit. I agree with this too: ?It?s boring if I look like everyone else.? She?s tried dressing like everybody else and she radiated discomfort. Of course, wearing a Chanel milkmaid dress IS different… I guess?
As for the Woody Allen part, while I was just disgusted with the idea of Woody creeping on Kristen and imprinting his Lolita fantasy onto her, I also disagree with his general description of Kristen. She?s styling-dependent and her look can go a lot of different ways, for sure. But I?m not sure if we?re ever going to say that Kristen radiates elegance and sophistication. Right?

Last night was the big New York premiere of Caf Society, the Woody Allen film which debuted at Cannes this year. It feels like people are pretty excited about the film for some reason, but not because the reviews are stellar or anything. Caf Society is currently sitting at 80% at Rotten Tomatoes, but the reviews I?ve seen are mostly ?this is an okay movie.? This isn?t Blue Jasmine, where as soon as critics as saw that film, everyone knew that Cate Blanchett was going to win an Oscar. This is mid-range Woody Allen-as-filmmaker, not the best but not the worst. I think most of the excitement about the film is because of Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively, honestly. Two ?fashion girls? on the promotional trail, wearing interesting things.
And Kristen?s Chanel dress at the premiere was ?interesting,? if ?interesting? means ?she looks like a hipster milkmaid.? We talk a lot about Alicia Vikander and Jennifer Lawrence?s respective Louis Vuitton and Dior contracts and how those contracts have become rather nightmarish for them, but I really think K-Stew?s Chanel contract should be part of that conversation too. Kristen and Chanel don?t really fit together, right? She was better off with her Balenciaga contract years back. You know what I hate the most about this dress? The giant ?C? Chanel-branding on the skirt. WTF?
Blake Lively ?hid? her bump under this Carolina Herrera flouncy minidress. In some dresses, you sort of forget Blake is even pregnant, and this is one of them. She looks great, she looks cute, etc. But it makes me nervous to see a 6-months-pregnant lady in those high heels and such a short dress.

Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart out and about in New York on Monday. She?s in NYC doing the promotional rounds for Caf Society, the Woody Allen movie. The suit is by The Kooples, and it?s actually a pretty good look. I don?t mind that she?s wearing flats, but I don?t care for these particular Chanel Resort flats. Otherwise this is a very clean, pretty look for K-Stew. This is what she wore for her Good Morning America interview, which you can see here. She says she adores Jesse Eisenberg, who is ?stupidly smart.? She also talked a little bit about how she got the part ? she had to audition for Woody Allen.
?I had to audition for the part because I tend to have a more weighted energy. And the character has this light, buoyant energy. Woody said, ?As long as you don’t walk like a sailor you will be fine.? So I auditioned for it and apparently did OK.?

I never get tired of the younger generations? constant self-reflection and need to define themselves to other people. They can?t just BE, they have to describe how they are to other people. Kristen thinks she has a ?weighted energy? ? does she? While I don?t think she?s a silly, ?light? person, I also don?t think she?s as dark, weighted and mysterious as she thinks she is.
Kristen is also promoting Equals during the same promotional tour, and Kristen and Nick Hoult did a joint interview with E! a few days ago. It?s getting a lot of attention because Nick and Kristen riff on James Bond and who should be cast. Hoult says he?s not interested, mostly because he thinks he?s too young. Kristen thinks that the whole franchise is getting ?a little stale? anyway, and when Hoult says that Idris Elba should be the next Bond, Kristen basically says that they should hire a woman. Hoult says if she was Jane Bond, he would be her Q.

Taking care of some promotional duties, Kristen Stewart showed up at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film ?Equals? at the ArcLight on Thursday night (July 7).
Joined by Nicholas Hoult and Jacki Weaver, the ?Twilight Saga: New Moon? darling was all smiles as she posed for the paparazzi before heading inside.
?Equals? is slated to hit theaters on July 15th. Per the synopsis, ?In an emotionless utopia, two people fall in love when they regain their feelings from a mysterious disease, causing tensions between them and their society.?
