Katy Perry is looking to purchase a former convent in Los Feliz. She so badly wants this property that she’s offered to pay $14.5 million in cash. The only hangup? Perry’s battling with the elderly Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to purchase the property. The Sisters say they own the property, and they sold it for $15.5 million to a restauranteur a few weeks ago. They made a quick sale to keep the convent out of Katy’s hands. Unfortunately, the archdiocese wants Katy to own the property, so legal paperwork is in process.
Katy started pursuing the former convent, which features “spectacular” views of Los Angeles, three years ago. It sounds like she became interested in the place right after she and Russell Brand split. Katy wants to live there with her mom and grandma. Will Katy’s father live there too? Who knows, but the nuns who currently live there aren’t happy about Katy’s image messing up their sacred land:
Perry seems to have given her all in going after the property, and tried to make a good impression on the nuns at a recent meeting. I’m told that Perry dressed rather conservatively, and according to two of the sisters, she sang “Oh Happy Day” for them and showed them a “Jesus” tattoo on her wrist area. I would have advised her to sing “Kumbayah,” but I’m not in the entourage.
The nuns shrugged, and there have been no happy days since. Just lots of accusations, disagreements and legal filings. Lawyers can’t even agree on who represents the nuns. The nuns knew the archbishop had lined up a buyer who was supposed to be a famous performer, but the name didn’t mean anything to the sisters, who range in age from 77 to 88. So Sister Rita [Callahan] did a little research on the Internet.
“Well, I found Katy Perry and I found her videos and … if it’s all right to say, I wasn’t happy with any of it,” said Sister Rita, who told me she would rather not elaborate on her concerns as to whether Perry is a suitable candidate to live in a convent.
When Sister Rita learned that Perry would be performing during the Super Bowl halftime, she tuned in. Perry sang “Teenage Dream,” (Let you put your hands on me. In my skin-tight jeans.) which was not a good choice, given Sister Rita’s careful monitoring of the show. Sister Rita then watched as Perry was lifted off the ground and flew around the stadium as if riding a shooting star.
“I thought, is that a way to make money?” said Sister Rita. “Maybe I could fly around. I could be the flying nun.”

Of course Katy flashed her “Jesus” tattoo! She also reportedly told the nuns that she wanted to “sit in the meditation garden, drink green tea and ‘find herself.’” Katy’s such a wishy-washy mess. She should have simply taken a lowkey tour of the property and then sent agents to complete the sale instead of showing off her tattoo. These poor nuns have already watched Katy’s Super Bowl performance. Isn’t that enough suffering?

Having a blast in the boot-shaped country of Italy, Katy Perry showed up at the Moschino runway presentation in Florence on Thursday (June 18).
The ?I Kissed a Girl? songstress wore a Moschino-branded dress and hammed it up with creative director Jeremy Scott during the 88 Pitti Uomo.
In a recent interview, Jeremy told ELLE that he met Katy for the first time in 2008 when she boldly approached him at a Los Angeles event- ?She said, ?Hi, I'm a singer and you're my favorite designer. One day, I hope to wear your things onstage. My name is Katy Perry."'

They?ve been on and off for awhile now and it seems John Mayer and Katy Perry have reunited once again to give their romance another shot.
The ?No Such Thing? crooner took his ?Firework? lady friend to Disneyland over the Memorial Day Weekend, grabbing dinner at the exclusive Club 33 restaurant and getting caught in plenty of fan-taken photographs.

She?s been busy touring the globe as of late, and last night (May 4) Katy Perry showed up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the 2015 Met Gala shindig.
Showing off her black pixie hairdo, the ?I Kissed a Girl? songstress was escorted by Moschino mastermind Jeremy Scott and she looked fabulous in one of his spray paint creations.
Every year the Met Gala provides the operating budget for the Costume Institute and since 1999, Anna Wintour has headed up the event, raising more than $145 million. Tickets run $25,000 each or $175,000 for a table of 10.

Katy Perry walked the Met Gala red carpet with a new pixie cut that looks suspiciously like the wig she sported on April Fool’s Day. Some people think it’s a real cut, but I’m calling it a wig. Her dress is Moschino, straight off the runway. Does she fit the evening’s theme with this grafitti print and oodles of ruffles? Not really, but she stuck with her own quirky style and managed not to appropriate. Baby steps, y’all! Plus her clutch arrives in the shape of a spray paint can. I think she looks gaudy, but she usually throws that vibe. This dress is better than most of us expected from Katy last night.
Olivia Wilde captured the gala’s punk theme a few years too late in this Pink prada number with grey leather gloves. She’s ridiculously bejeweled, but you can tell that she loves what she’s wearing.
Katie Holmes also tried to fake a haircut, but this ‘do is definitely a wig. For a Zac Posen gown, this is surprisingly unstructured. The faint floral pattern at the bottom of the skirt fits the gala’s theme.
Kristen Wiig went super casual in a drapey, yellow Prabal Gurung gown. This dress had a lot of fabric that overwhelmed Kristen. Everyone said she was so nice on the red carpet, which isn’t surprising.
Sienna Miller aimed for the theme but came up with a matador vibe in this embellished, red Thakoon number. Tasselled earings matched her black belt detail, and Sienna remembered the most important accessory of all — a hefty dose of double-sided tape.

Alexa Chung wore an Erdem with its trademark pockets. This dress was better in motion, and the fabric was dreamy. Her shoes gave an unexpected pop of color.

Kaiser already covered the Katy Perry fashion week photos from the Givenchy show. These are pictures of Katy wearing one of her Lolita-type outfits at the Jeremy Scott event. After her fashion week visit, Katy immediately went back to touring. She does work hard, but she’s in Amsterdam now, so will she party hard? Katy called Elvis Duran yesterday to talk about how she won’t partake of Amsterdam’s abundant marijuana supply:
She doesn’t like pot: “I’m going to go to the red light district tonight, actually, but let me just say this. Weed doesn’t agree with me! I turn into more of a weirdo than I actually am. I don’t really even do cocktails anymore. There’s a certain point in your life where you just turn to red wine, and that’s kind of the point I’ve turned to … A nice Malbec–I love a nice Malbec.”
Her current food habits: “I’m eating myself around the world. I was doing that kind of pseudo-Paleo think before the Super Bowl, because I had like a real goal,” she said. “And then, like the moment I got offstage, I had a Papa John’s pizza waiting for me with extra garlic sauces! I’ve just been kind of eating! I’ve been to all these great places in Italy, and all of these great place in France and had all the food that goes along with it. But I do have to shoot something important coming up in about three weeks, so I’m back to like digesting oatmeal and asparagus.”

Katy Perry must have left all her creative juices on the football field because the Grammys were an obvious afterthought. Not that I blame her. Katy’s in the middle of a world tour and must be exhausted. Her styling team could have worked a little harder. Last year, Katy brought the drama in a Valentino musical concept dress. This year’s selection was a fringey, uninspired Zuhair Murad cocktail dress. I think she was going for sparkle-pow impact, but the dress aged her substantially and looked bizarre next to her youthful purple locks. The dress was backless, which didn’t add to its nonexistent appeal. Better luck next year.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend were the cutest couple at this event. Chrissy’s white Gucci dress felt a little more CMAs than Grammys, but she pulled off the dress with her figure. Cutouts are a little too trendy right now. John looked adorable in Dolce & Gabbana.
Meghan Trainor was a mess in this Galia Lahav gown. I didn’t mind the sheer “leafy” sleeves, but the overlay skirt was too much. This looked more like a witchy Halloween costume than an award show dress.
Zendaya usually brings the funky attitude onto the red carpet. This Vivienne Westwood dress didn’t fare too well. The fabric was wrinkly. The cut was lazy. Z’s sandals looked like they fell out of a beach bag, and her wig was too wiggy.
