It’s pretty much common knowledge that Helen Mirren is the coolest Dame around (sorry, Judy Dench). She always looks great, she has Russell Brand worshiping at her feet, and occasionally she says some dingbat stuff that makes you wonder if she’s sniffing glue.
But how can you stay mad at a 65-year-old woman who says her secret to red-carpet success is stripper heels?
My red-carpet secret is…The stripper shoes I buy on Hollywood Boulevard: 10-inch heels with 5-inch platforms. They make your legs look wonderful.
If I weren’t acting…I’d be a hairdresser. I have a bit of a Delilah complex. I love to cut people’s hair! Unfortunately my husband won’t let me cut his.
I would love to work with…Quentin Tarantino. He is a superb filmmaker, visceral and fantastic. The two Kill Bill films were brilliant.
I am most afraid of…Plastic bottles. Their proliferation is terrifying. They won’t go away, and people are not getting the message. We’re destroying the bloody planet!
My style icon is…Helena Bonham Carter. She’s unique, bohemian, and inventive. I also love Lady Gaga’s radical use of fashion.
My biggest splurge is…an old farmhouse in southern Italy that my husband and I are renovating. That’s one reason why I buy drugstore makeup — I spend $5 on mascara and $5 million on a ruin!
Crowning glory…When I was first nominated for an Oscar, I made the mistake of treating it like a British wedding and thought a hat appropriate. Still, I think it’s sad that Americans don’t wear hats!

How cool would it be to see Helen Mirren as Lady Gaga in “The Lady Gaga Story,” directed by Quentin Tarantino and co-starring Helena Bonham Carter as Katy Perry? Russell Brand could play himself. Until then, I guess we’ll have to settle for Helen and Russell in the Arthur remake, which I also think is brilliant casting.
Note by CB: We couldn’t actually find any photos of Helen wearing said stripper heels. She’s talked about this before, and Kaiser and I think that she just means regular high heels. She’s a strange one.

Always a favorite, Katy Perry sent her fans into a frenzy as she turned up for the annual People?s Choice Awards on Wednesday (January 5).
The ?Firework? pop star was in great spirits as she headed inside the Nokia Theatre for the annual show's action-packed festivities while clad in a colorful frock.
Mrs Russell Brand took the lead this year with five nominations including Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Song, Favorite Music Video and Favorite Web Celeb - winning Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Web Celeb honors.
The night was certainly a star-studded event as other celebs such as Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, the Kardashian sisters, Taylor Swift and many more were in attendance.

Enjoying some time together in New York City, Katy Perry and Russell Brand were spotted at a Le Cirque show on Thursday night (December 23).
The ?California Gurls? babe looked excited as she smiled for pictures while her ?Forgetting Sarah Marshall? hubby looked a bit put off by the candid photo op.
Putting in her two cents on what type of holiday tunes she enjoys, Katy recently tweeted, ?Christmas songs are better when Elvis sings em.?
And for the third week in a row, Perry?s latest hit song ?Firework? is sitting pretty at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles.

Deciding to go against the grain this year, Katy Perry and Russell Brand have opted against engaging in the common practice of giving one other Christmas presents.
The ?Firework? singer and the ?Get Him to the Greek? actor have said that they want to focus on creating ?an experience? for their first holiday season as husband and wife.
Perry explained, "Honestly, we're not doing presents this year because we're going to do an experience instead. My whole life has been an experience, especially in these past few years and this year in particular."
She went on to say that she plans to donate some of her clothes to charity to help out those in need over the holiday season.

Katy Perry enthused to Grazia Magazine about her sex life with her new husband, Russell Brand, 35. She claimed she has “secrets and magic tricks” and that she’s “not shy” and “never wears sweats.” Katy also said that she hopes to move to England and get a British passport, as if that will be as easy as flashing a smile and some cleavage.
Katy Perry has revealed she has a series of secret sexual ”magic tricks” for husband Russell Brand and always makes an effort for her spouse.

The ‘Firework’ hitmaker married renowned womaniser Russell Brand in October and says she always makes an effort for her spouse.
She said: “I have secrets and magic tricks, of course. I can’t share them because then you’d all know. But let’s just say I’m not shy. And I never wear sweats. Ever.”
The brunette beauty also plans her schedule carefully so she and Russell can spend quality time together away from the pressures of their working commitments.
She added: “I also make sure we have time. We’re both busy but this is a huge part of my life. I call the shots on my schedule. I put in breaks. There are weekends for Russ and weekends for me and my friends. Neither of us ever wants to lose ourself or the other in fame.”
Though Katy and Russell are currently residing in Los Angeles, they are house-hunting in the ‘Get Him to the Greek’ star’s native London as the US singer wants a British passport.
She told Grazia magazine: “We have a place together in America but we want to find somewhere here. I want a British passport.”

This is TMI and sounds so naive. This girl was just married two months ago. Things change when you’ve been with a person for a few years. These two first got together just over a year ago, and Russell has a well documented history of sleeping around. There aren’t any tricks or sexy outfits that will keep a guy interested if he’s got a wandering dick and an appetite for strange. It doesn’t matter how gorgeous you are, how experimentative (and you know Katy thinks normal sex stuff is so groundbreaking) or how willing you are to please when it comes down to it. I hope things work out for Katy and Russell and I really like both of them. In this case I’d like to be wrong about these two.
One more thing - you don’t just get a British “passport” when you marry a British citizen. You get visa status as a spouse to stay in the country for an extended period, after you apply. Getting a passport requires citizenship and you have to live in the UK for five years first. (I checked.) I know Katy is just 26 but she sounds so clueless to me sometimes.

Looking to unwind a bit, Katy Perry hit up the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles to see Dita Von Teese?s ?Strip Strip Hooray? burlesque show last night (December 15).
But unfortunately it looked like the ?California Gurls? songstress indulged a bit too much in the bartender?s creations.
Ms. Perry stumbled out to the sidewalk along with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, and tried her best not to allow the shutterbugs to see her inebriated state.
And it was a celebrity-rich environment at the Roxy, as hotties like Holly Madison and Kelis both turned out for the gig.

Getting a cold start to their day, Katy Perry and Russell Brand were spotted leaving the Greenwich Hotel in New York City this morning (December 14).
The newlyweds looked like they were freezing as they ventured out onto the street in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood as the paparazzi looked on.
In career news, Ms. Perry has the esteemed honor of being the first female artist in 11 years to have three #1 songs from the same album.
Katy scored her record-breaking feat when ?Firework? topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, following the trend of ?California Gurls? and ?Teenage Dream.?
