Olivia Wilde covers the May issue of Lucky mag. My first thought was that she was promoting her pregancy. I’m kidding. Olivia is promoting The Third Person, which is a relationship drama where she romances Liam Neeson. Of course! His movie girlfriends get younger and younger, but that’s how it works for most leading men. That’s just a fact of Hollywood life.
Olivia is a strange celebrity to cover from a gossip standpoint. For awhile, she and Jason Sudeikis were messing with us with a bunch of sex talk. That was irritating. Then Olivia dropped that act and launched an assault on plastic surgery. She also has thoughts on women in Hollywood and seems painfully aware of her own place in the machine. I dig her now, and her pregnancy style has been second to none this year. Let’s do some excerpts:
On turning 30: “Your twenties are about hustling: getting into the workforce, making a name for yourself, supporting yourself, learning as much as possible. It feels like this wonderful plateau, a vantage point where you can look and say, okay, now that I?ve seen all this stuff, I know which way I?d actually like to continue and what really isn’t true to me. That?s what?s happened over the last two or three years.”
Her teenage style: “At 13 years old, I was wearing a lot of corduroy suits with wide-collared polyester shirts. My nickname at that age was ‘thrifty girl,’ which I think of now and is so weird. But at the time, I couldn?t imagine paying more than $20 for a pair of jeans.”
Her current style: “My style is never uncomfortable … it?s part of my nature to look a little messy. When in doubt, look to the French. For literally everything in life. It?s just minimalism at its best.” After seeing girls in Paris wearing vintage tees tucked into pencil skirts a few years back, she says she thought she had solved the what-to-wear conundrum forever. “I remember thinking, I?m going to go home and buy a bunch of pencil skirts so I can do that. The same thing happened with suspenders. I saw someone in suspenders and I thought, Yes! Suspenders are everything!”
Her pregnancy style: “I just thought, Oh I?m going to hide this forever. But I ended up getting kind of excited to show the bump, as a badge of pride. Like,”–here she affects an Oprah-like bellow–”I?m a woman! Look at me making a human! I am a goddess! I?m like, double D, hello! I?ve never been in this section of the bra store! I?ve been flat-chested my whole life, so it?s a wonderful new world.”
Her unborn son: “He?s moving around in there and no one else can tell–it?s a little secret friendship.”
She’s so chill now: “Pregnancy does shed away all of the bullsh-t. It gives you more empathy because you look at everyone and you think, You were a baby! Pregnancy brings you into this sort of commune–you feel connected to women in a way that you never have.”
When will she and Jason marry? “It?s certainly not something I feel pressured to do before we have the baby. I?m such a believer in marriage and I think of him as my husband anyway. I get that it?s not peaches and cream every day.”
Her vintage engagement ring: “All they know is that it went through Paris around 1921. I love imagining the story of this ring. Who had it? It?s a bit of an aqua emerald, not a deep dark green. Jason said it reminded him of my eyes, which is very sweet.”
She’s no femme fatale: “Playing the ideal girl is much harder for me than the basket-case mess. Now when I look at roles, if it says, ‘In walks in the femme fatale, the epitome of perfection and desire,? I say, ‘No, that’s not going to work.’ I?m not interested unless she turns out to be psychotic and murders everyone in the room. I’d rather be Ursula than the Little Mermaid.”

You know, I’m sure there are some readers out there who also felt like a “goddess” during pregnancy. I did not. I was like, “Let’s get this sh-t over with.” I was tired of feeling huge and having aching hips and wanted to meet the kiddo. No “secret friendships” occurred until after she came out, and then it was true love. The goddess thing seems kind of silly, but maybe some of you can explain it to me.
This Lucky shoot was probably shot a few months ago. Olivia hadn’t yet hit the third trimester, but she was styled in loose sweaters to cover up the burgeoning bump. I’ve included some of Livvy’s recent street style photos too. The “bumblebee” sweater is not a good look.

Approaching her due date, Olivia Wilde showed off her beautiful baby bump at the 2014 Revlon Concert for the Rainforest Fund on Thursday night (April 17).
The ?Drinking Buddies? babe looked stunning a long black gown as she cradled her darling belly at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Miss Wilde and her fianc Jason Sudeikis are expecting their first child together.
During a red carpet interview at the Oscars, Olivia told press that she is expected to give birth on May 4th, and that she remembers the date because of the ?Star Wars? holiday ? May the Fourth Be With You.

Bringing her bump to the East Coast, Olivia Wilde grabbed some groceries in Boston on Tuesday (April 1).
Cool in black, the "Her" starlet sported a knit shawl over a tank top and skinny jeans, walking with purpose, carrying her cute baby bump as she made her way to the car.
The 30-year-old beauty is visiting the East Coast to stay close to fiance, Jason Sudeikis, who is currently filming his upcoming romantic comedy, "Tumbledown."
The celebrity sweethearts have been spotted at the neighborhood coffee shop, Haute Coffee, and one of the establishment's employees said of them, "They're very casual, very down to earth. They couldn't have been nicer. It's just a pleasure to have them here."

I just wanted to check on Olivia Wilde, who must be growing close to her due date by the looks of this bump. These are photos of Olivia in Boston yesterday where she met up with baby daddy and fianc Jason Sudeikis. Olivia looks exhausted and at the point of pregnancy where it’s impossible to get comfortable while sleeping. I hope Jason’s giving her plenty of footrubs (if she’s into them). Olivia’s hanging tight with 2-inch heels in these photos. Her pregnancy style has been flawless and glamourous on the red carpet, and she looks sophisticated here.
Olivia recently chatted with People about makeup (she’s a Revlon ambassador) and gave some useful tips:
Make your beauty mistakes early: “I don’t think there?s one picture from growing up where I don’t think, ‘Ugh, awful! ‘If I ever have a daughter who starts experimenting with heavy makeup or shaving her hair like I did, I would encourage it and say, ‘Do it all now, you?ll learn yourself well.’ I did that awful gutterpunk undershave look when I was 12. Not an easy grow back process. It looked like I got run over by a tractor. But my mom had a good response to that stuff; I didn?t even need to be punished, I learned that one on my own.”
She wears lowkey Revlon to go casual: Most days, she swipes on the brand’s CC cream to cover “any weird splotches and acne scars,” fills in her brows and puts on mascara.
She doesn’t do heavy lips: “I know that a glossy red lip is terrifying to a man. It’s so funny because in every old movie they were clearly making out wearing heavy lipstick. How did they do it back then? Knowing the ’30s, they probably sprinkled lead on top to make it stay.”
Makeup mishaps on the red carpet: ?I never panic, I just say ‘Oh, I look like a drag queen, it’s not going to work. I now know enough about my face to say, ‘Listen, that’s not going to work on me because of my man jaw or giant forehead.’ … [But] I encourage people to experiment, to have fun. When you feel your best, you look your best.”

I like that Olivia has a sense of humor about what she calls her “man jaw” and “giant forehead.” She has great bone structure, but people can be so cruel. Olivia is throwing it all back at her critics. She’s awesome. She’s also witty and very aware of her place in Hollywood. I think she’ll be fine, careerwise. Acting might be on the back burner the moment, but Olivia did score a role in Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger’s upcoming HBO pilot. That should be interesting, right?
Olivia struggled a bit to push her luggage into a NYC cab last week. The cabbie should have helped a pregnant lady out.

The ?Drinking Buddies? actress donned a black peacoat that showed off her growing baby bump as she sipped on a hot drink and ran a few errands.

The "Drinking Buddies" star wore a white sweater with spectacles and a mustache on it, blue jeans, and black shoes as she walked Paco on a leash outside.
Enjoying a lighter career schedule thanks to her bun in the oven, the 30-year-old actress is catching up with some entertaining television.
That same day, Olivia tweeted, "Doll & Em is a great show. Painful and hilarious and real and did I mention hilarious? I'm a fan. Go HBO go."

Kicking off her day with a quick workout, Olivia Wilde headed to the gym in New York City on Wednesday (March 12).
The mommy-to-be covered up her baby bump with gray shirt and black leggings as she made her way through the busy streets and into the facility.
In career news, Miss Wilde announced her role in Martin Scorsese's new HBO series. Produced by ?Boardwalk Empire?s? Terence Winter and classic rock legend Mick Jagger, the untitled project centers around the punk and disco music industry in the 1970s.

Recently, Miss Wilde guest starred on the latest episode of IFC's "Portlandia," which aired on Thursday (March 6). Olivia, along with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, portrayed eco-terrorists who were protesting animal testing at a makeup company.
Sharing her mom?s excitement about the show, the 31-year-old actress took to her Twitter account and tweeted, ?I don?t think my mom has ever been so proud as when I told her I was guesting on @ifcportlandia.?
She also noted, ?She may love Fred more than me #igetit.?

Grabbing some exercise in the frigid temperatures of New York, Olivia Wilde took her adorable pooch, Paco for a walk on Wednesday (March 5).
Bumping around town with her growing tummy, the "People Like Us" darling sported a long black scarf, thick wool coat and a cool pair of Chucks, holding little Paco on his leash.
