Stepping out for a fabulous affair, Zooey Deschanel was front and center at the launch of SELF Magazine's July music issue in New York City on Wednesday night (June 15).
Held at the Gansevoort Park Avenue, the "Your Highness" hottie joined Lucy Danzinger and Laura McEwen as the ladies mingled with guests and unveiled a super-sized version of the publication's new offering featuring Miss Deschanel on the cover.
Inside the issue, Zooey chatted about topics such as getting to know yourself and her workout inspirations, with highlights below:
On getting to know yourself: ?Most people spend too much time comparing themselves to others?.Get to know yourself a little bit better. Stop and ask yourself a few questions, and think about you.?
On why she works out: ?A lot of people work out to be skinny. That?s so boring, and it seems like a depressing goal for a modern woman. I work out to be healthy and because I like it. I do sports or classes, things that engage my mind. If you?re active, fitness will follow - and probably a good figure, too.?
On advice she?d give her former self: ?If I could give my teenaged self any advice, it would be ?Calm down!? In fact, if I could relive one day of my life, it would be the worst day of seventh grade, just so I could appreciate how much better life is now.?

Her sister Emily recently announced she is pregnant, and Zooey Deschanel couldn?t be happier to hear the news.
The ?Failure to Launch? actress took to her Twitter page to share her joy, tweeting, ?I am super excited to be an aunt!?
Emily Deschanel and her writer-actor husband David Hornsby will have their first child in the months to come.
They tied the knot back in September 2010. Emily is best known for her role on ?Bones,? while David stars in ?It?s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.?

Stepping out for a swanky shindig, Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard paired up for an evening in Beverly Hills, CA on Wednesday night (February 23).
The ?Yes Man? cutie looked gorgeous in a long-sleeved dress and heels as she and her ?Death Cab for Cutie? hubby exited the Solange Azagury-Partridge Partnership with DKMS Launch arm-in-arm.
As previously reported, Zooey has been cast for a brand new TV series that was originally sold under the name ?Chicks and Dicks.?
With ?No Strings Attached? writer-producer Liz Meriwether at the helm, it has been said that the ensemble series will be about the sexual politics of young men and women.

She?s always a treat to see on-screen, and Zooey Deschanel is set to star in an upcoming comedy on Fox.
According to Dead Line, the ?Elf? cutie has closed the deal on the untitled single-camera comedy pilot from writer/producer, Liz Meriwether, 20th TV and studio based Chernin Entertainment.
While in negotiations for the pilot, Deschanel was also considering a spot on NBC?s ?The Office? but decided to stick with the pilot.
The show, which was originally titled ?Chicks and Dicks,? is described as a young ensemble comedy about the sexual politics of men and women.

Stepping out for an industry event, Zooey Deschanel was spotted at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City yesterday (October 26).
The ?Failure to Launch? lady helped present the 2011 Line of Rimmel Cosmetics to a group of beauty editors during the swanky affair.
In career news, Zooey recently finished up working on a new medieval-style film titled ?Your Highness.?
Also starring Natalie Portman and James Franco, ?Your Highness? is slated to hit theaters on April 8, 2011.

Carrying the passion for both movie and music-making, Zooey Deschanel was spotted showing off her onstage talents at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on Friday night (June 11).
The 30-year-old performed alongside her She & Him bandmate, Matt Ward, as the pair delivered an entertaining set at the weekend gathering.
And while she's currently been focusing on band efforts, Zooey will soon be heading to New York to shoot a new comedy titled "My Idiot Brother".
Co-starring Elizabeth Banks, Emily Mortimer and Paul Rudd, a synopsis tells, "Rudd escapes living with his over-bearing mother by rotating in and out of the homes of his three sisters, each with quite unique personalities and stories to tell. Banks is focused on her journalism career and on the brink of making it big. Deschanel plays a bisexual whose aloofness is damaging her relationship with her girlfriend (Rashida Jones). On the contrary, Mortimer is so consumed with being the perfect soccer mom that she neglects to realize that her marriage is in shambles."

Gearing up for another new project, Zooey Deschanel and Elizabeth Banks are pairing up with Emily Mortimer in a new comedy titled "My Idiot Brother".
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the three lovely ladies will be playing sisters, with their "idiot" brother to be portrayed by Paul Rudd when the movie begins shooting in New York next month.
As for the film, it finds Zooey, Elizabeth and Emily's characters all living together - with the girls deciding to let their male sibling move in with them.
A synopsis tells, "Rudd escapes living with his over-bearing mother by rotating in and out of the homes of his three sisters, each with quite unique personalities and stories to tell. Banks is focused on her journalism career and on the brink of making it big. Deschanel plays a bisexual whose aloofness is damaging her relationship with her girlfriend (Rashida Jones). On the contrary, Mortimer is so consumed with being the perfect soccer mom that she neglects to realize that her marriage is in shambles."

Branching out to premium television, Zooey Deshcanel has signed up to star in HBO’s new pilot based on the book “I’m With The Band: Confessions Of A Groupie.”
The book was written by Pamela Des Barres, the woman influenced the character of Kate Hudson’s Penny Lane in “Almost Famous.”
According to press, the half-hour show will essentially follow the book about a groupie’s life and the many famous musicians they encounter.
In other news, Ms Deschanel’s second album with M. Ward is due out in stores on March 23.

Now, the brand is turning to two actors to promote drinks made with Absolut.Kate Beckinsale and Zooey Deschanel will be featured in Absolut ads to be introduced on Thursday at a party in New York. The ads are part of a campaign by the New York office of TBWA/Chiat/Day, part of the TBWA Worldwide unit of the Omnicom Group.In keeping with an Absolut tradition, the ads are being photographed by a well-known fashion shutterbug, Ellen Von Unwerth.The ads carry the theme ?Every drink is an exceptional experience,? extending a recent campaign for Absolut that carries the theme ?Doing things differently leads to something exceptional.?

She’s always up for a swanky evening out, and last night (November 8) Zooey Deschanel was spotted living it up at the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards.
The “Failure to Launch” hottie was all smiles as she posed for the paparazzi outside The Highlands in Hollywood, sporting a black halter-style dress with black stockings and black heels.
Coming up on December 10th, Zooey will be joining her sister Emily Deschanel to play a distant relative on her hit FOX gig “Bones.”
The episode, titled “The Goop on the Girl” will also guest star Ryan O’Neal who will reprise his role as Max Keenan, Brennan’s dad.
