The last time I wrote about Janet Jackson, it was a little bit less than a year ago. Janet was doing several fashion events in Paris in May and June of last year. I noted at the time that Janet looked like she had gained a little weight – nothing drastic or anything, maybe about 20 pounds, tops. I even said it looked good on her – it made her look younger. Then, last December, Janet signed on to become the newest Nutrisystem spokeswoman. Now, Nutrisystem is – in my opinion – worse than Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. Nutrisystem is the trashier, more budget weight loss system. I think Janet was slumming with this endorsement. But Janet didn?t think so:
Janet Jackson’s fans have loved her through thick and thin! The 45-year-old singer and Nutrisystem spokeswoman is famous for yo-yo dieting throughout her career.
“[My weight] is something I’ve dealt with all my life, and it’s been an issue for me,” she told Us Weekly. “People can relate to me because I have lived it. I truly understand what it’s like to have a problem with weight loss, losing too much weight or gaining more than you desire to and becoming unhealthy.”
Although Jackson “[doesn't] want to put a number on [how many] pounds I want to lose or have lost” she feels “Good. This is where I want to be.”
“I still have a ways to go, and there’s not a lot that I want to lose,” she explained. “But I’ll know it when I reach it.”
Part of the reason Jackson’s weight has fluctuated? She’s an emotional eater. “When I’m down or really stressed, I eat because that’s my comfort place,” she said. “I’ve had a problem with my body image. So that’s why it’s really really important to get to where you really feel comfortable. You need to look at yourself and say, ‘I like this, I feel good about this. I feel healthy, I feel strong, and this is where I want to be.’”
Jackson admitted the 2009 passing of her brother Michael had been stressful, but can “breathe a little better” now that the trial of his physician Conrad Murray is over. “It’s been a difficult couple of years,” she told Us. “And then I’ve been very, very busy on top of that.”
“I have a little ways to go to get healthy and to feel the best that I KNOW I can feel,” she added. “I know I’m on my way to success.”

I mean? I get that. Janet is relatable. I like her more for talking about her weight fluctuations. What I don?t like? When Janet endorses a budget weight loss program, loses a extreme amount of weight, and JACKS the crap out of her face. Are we supposed to think that what happened to her face is the product of weight loss? Because I don?t. Here?s Janet?s new commercial:
Dear Miss Janet: WTF?!?!?!? Crazy cat-face. Nothing above her upper lip moves at all. UGH. Now, Janet has gotten tweaked before – for sure. But this is a really drastic and noticeable change, and she simply did NOT need it.

Janet Jackson partnered with Blackglama to sell a luxury mink pelt collection of 15 items including coats and gloves which will be sold at high-end stores. Suffice to say, fat chance of finding the collection at Walmart.
“The art of fashion is one of my great passions. I’ve worked for years to bring a collection into the world. Partnering with Blackglama is very exciting,” she said.
“When we began preparation for the second Blackglama campaign, Janet became very involved in the design process. The result was an amazing collection of Blackglama garments and accessories that reflect Janet’s tremendous sense of style and fashion,” said Mike McCrea, VP of Marketing for Blackglama.

However, this announcement has one dork in a tizzy. A long time fan was so disgusted by the news that he’s now decided to get a life. Sean Oltersdorf of Michigan was so upset that he’s eBay-ing his entire 25-year-plus collection of Janet items which include posters, magazines, photos and vinyl.
“I am a long-time Janet Jackson fan — or, I should say, I used to be. I am disgusted and have decided I want to auction off my entire 25 years-plus of Janet items and donate the proceeds to PETA,” said Oltersdorf.
Asked if he’s going to sell his Janet Jackson hair-doll he made out of strands of Janet’s hair he collected after sneaking into her dressing room during her concerts, he clutched Ms. Jackson to his chest and hissed.

Proving that she?s still got it, Janet Jackson looks oh-so-gorgeous on the December cover of Harper's Bazaar Arabia.
Adorning the front page, the 45-year-old dazzles in green while showing off her beautiful smile, not to mention her funky hair and flawless skin.
The ?Someone to Call My Lover? hitmaker shot the photos and the interview for the mag while visiting the Middle East on her ?Number Ones: Up, Close & Personal? tour.
Currently, Janet is on hiatus and will reschedule her tour dates - as she is home with her family in California during the Dr Conrad Murray trial.

Stepping out for a promotional appearance, Janet Jackson was spotted at the New York City premiere of ?For Colored Girls? last night (October 25).
The ?Control? songstress looked lovely in a black ensemble with red accents as she posed for the paparazzi outside the Ziegfeld Theatre.
As for the recent engagement rumors, Janet has set the record straight- ?No, no, no, I?m not engaged,? she told press last night.
However, things with Wissam Al Mana are getting more serious. An insider revealed that he ?whisked Janet off for a romantic break in Sardinia this summer and friends credit him with helping her cope with the death of her brother Michael.?

Last night was the premiere of For Colored Girls, the Tyler Perry film based on the ground-breaking play. This is how Ms. Janet Jackson showed up - in this strange red and black pantsuit number that I have mixed feelings about. If I could see this as just the pants and the weird wrap top, I think I would have loved it. But with the added jacket and the strange skirt? it?s just too much. BUT - Janet still kind of rocks it. Hmpf. Anyway, Janet?s date last night was not her Qatari boyfriend Wissam al Mana! She took her nephew instead, although Janet did confirm that she and Wissam are still together, though not engaged:

Asked Monday at the NYC premiere of her new drama, For Colored Girls, if her billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana popped the question, she laughed.
“No, no, no,” she told Us. “I’m not engaged.”
The two are heating up, however.
Since meeting last December at an event in the Middle East, they’ve been spotted a lot together lately.
The New York Post reports he even “whisked Janet off for a romantic break in Sardinia this summer and friends credit him with helping her cope with the death of her brother Michael.”

Even if they were engaged, I doubt we would know about it. Janet plays everything so tight, bless her heart. And while I don?t love the outfit, I will say that Janet is looking really good lately - I like her transition to dramatic actress, and her association with Tyler Perry. They seem to be genuinely tight, and this may be Janet?s year for an Oscar nomination. You never know.

Getting the work week started with some promotional duties, Janet Jackson was spotted at ?Good Morning America? in New York City early Monday morning (October 25).
Clad in a gray dress paired with black heels and a belt, the ?Feeback? singer looked ready for her appearance as she smiled and waved to fans before heading inside the studios.
During her interview, co-host Robin Roberts asked Ms Jackson about her upcoming gig "For Colored Girls" - to which she responded how excited she is to play a character "so bold and so shrewd."
When asked if she'll stick with acting or go back to music, Janet says her ?first passion is acting? but she's not turning her back on music, either. "I'll always do both, God willing," she explained.

Janet Jackson has been dating her Qatari millionaire boyfriend for the better part of 2010, by most accounts. His name is Wissam Al Mana, and according to various sources, it?s true love. Janet is said to have lost weight for Wissam, and he?s allegedly very, very good to her. So much so that Janet and Wissam might even be considering marriage and babies. But before any of that happens, Janet and Wissam needed to declare their love for each other via a photo op. Now, they?ve been photographed together in candids and paparazzi photos, but I believe these series of outings during Paris Fashion Week - like at Dior yesterday - were their first big events together.
Wissam is really cute, isn?t he? The Enquirer described him as Janet?s boy-toy, because he?s ten years younger than her, but I kind of disagree. He seems like he has the potential to be a good partner to Miss Janet. And he?s pretty cute, too. Even though The Daily Mail is saying he has weird elf ears (they?re so mean!). Oh, well. Whatever makes them happy!
He does need help with these pants though. WTF?

Stepping out with her boyfriend, Janet Jackson was spotted taking a stroll around New York City yesterday afternoon (September 23).
The ?Rhythm Nation? songstress and her Middle Eastern billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana had lunch together before taking a walk in Manhattan.
During their meal, Janet and Wissam were very affectionate and weren?t afraid to show onlookers that they were crazy about each other.
One eyewitness told press, 'Janet was glowing. They had a corner table and were very cuddly. They seemed very much in love. Wissam picked up the check, and when asked if they'd be back next week, they said they were flying to Paris for Fashion Week.?

Janet Jackson has a new, younger boyfriend! His name is Wissam Al Mana, and he?s Qatari, and he?s almost a decade younger than Janet. According to the Enquirer, they?ve been dating for about seven months, although various sites only started reporting the rumor back in May and June, so who knows? Janet and Wissam apparently went on vacation together in June - The Daily Mail had the photos here. Wissam is pretty cute, actually. He?s tall! Anyway, Miss Janet is in love, apparently, and so she?s taking better care of her body, losing weight and even thinking about having a baby with Wissam:

Yes, the tabloids don?t know how to report anything without making it sound like every woman is stuck in the 1950s, just waiting for the ring and the baby to fulfill all of our little girlish dreams. I think we should give Janet a little more credit than this, honestly. She?s one of the most successful pop artists of all time, she?s got a solid career as an actress, and she?s already been married before, so why do we think that she will only be fulfilled by the ring and the baby? Eh. But good for her for taking better care of herself. Wissam sounds like a nice guy.
