I don’t know if this is news anymore since Lauren Conrad no longer has a tv show, but she’s supposedly engaged to Kyle Howard, the dude that looks like a monkey.
Now that Lauren Conrad is off ?The Hills,? Star reports, her boyfriend, Kyle Howard, has proposed, and ?Lauren barely let him get the words out before she said yes.? Not least because she wanted to get engaged at the very moment that Heidi Montag was vomiting in the Costa Rican jungle.
Aw, man. That sucks. For Kyle. I bet he was going to say, “Will you pass the salt?,” before LC stopped him at “will you” and said “Yes! A million times yes!” They were probably at some fancy restaurant and Kyle didn’t want to make a scene. Sheesh. You can’t take that girl anywhere.
Update: Star’s report is wrong and they’re not engaged.

After Lauren Conrad’s announcement that she was leaving The Hills, the start of shooting for the new season sans Lauren, and the craziness that is Heidi and Spencer on Get Me Out of Here… I’m a Celebrity, comes the announcement that Lauren is engaged to her boyfriend of one year, Kyle Howard from My Boys. While she has kept relatively mum about their relationship, not even mentioning him on her show, she gushed about him in a recent issue of Cosmopolitan. She gave the typical “I feel sexiest with him when I’m in sweatpants and no makeup,” line, but interestingly the article also said that she is “in no hurry to tie the knot.”
The engagement occurred, according to Star, in Malibu late last month.
Saying bye-bye to The Hills after three years has brought big changes to Lauren Conrad’s life. At the top of the list: her beau, My Boys’ Kyle Howard, 31, is now ready to take their relationship to the next level. He proposed, and Lauren, 23, accepted! “Kyle’s always been wary of the cameras that constantly followed her around and never wanted to be on the show,” a source close to the pair tells Star. She’s finally free of all that - and Kyle couldn’t wait to pop the question.” He found the perfect moment on the beach in Malibu in late May. “He said that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her,” says the source. “Lauren barely let him get out the words out before she said yes!” Both Kyle and Laruen, who’ve been dating for about a year, wanted to keep their happy news quiet until the hoopla surrounding her exit from the show died down, adds the source. “She doesn’t want her wedding plans to be overshadowed by anything - especially residual drama with her Hills castmates!”

Of course, it’s Star, so there’s always the chance that this is completely made up, but the detail that the engagement occurred last month makes me think it might be legitimate. Lauren keeps saying how quiet and private she wants her life to be, so not announcing her engagement would be keeping true to that wish. One thing is definite, though. If they ever do make it down the aisle, there won’t be any TV special about it. In Cosmo, she was quoted that the only camera that will be at her wedding is her parents’ camcorder.

The MTV Movie Awards are the perfect place for celebrities to let loose and show off their fun, flirty and hip sense of fashion. Gone are the gowns and stuffy attire reserved for shows like the Oscars and the Golden Globes. In are the miniskirts and relaxed suits that best emphasize the chilled-out, party atmosphere of every MTV occasion.
We can't wait to see what our guests are going to wear at the show this Sunday night, but in the meantime, here are five of the best looks worn on the carpet in the last two years.

If you were racking your brain over why Lauren Conrad would leave the show that gave her money, power and respect more money, wonder no longer. Lauren tells us why in the new issue of Cosmo (that’s still around?). Conrad said the final straw came when producers invited the uninvited Heidi Montag to her birthday party.
“After the producers did that, I disappeared. If they were disrespectful, I was going to be disrespectful back. I told them, ‘You can call me in a week. Think about what you did,’ ” she tells the mag.
MTV wanted to infuse drama into an otherwise unwatchable episode. How disrespectful of the company that owns the show and pays Lauren’s salary to do what they’re allowed to do to heighten interest in a product they’ve invested so much in. Those bastards. Don’t they know how important Lauren Conrad is?

I don’t watch The Hills so that’s more than enough reason to cancel the show, but MTV doesn’t care about me which is why they’re continuing with the reality series sans Lauren Conrad. No one thinks it’s a big deal. Asked whether the show could survive without LC, Audrina Patridge said: “Yes, we’re like family to our audience.”
Uh ok. A big part of your family is gone. I’m sure there’s a grieving period just like when real families lose their retarded daughter, in this case Lauren Conrad, and are left with bunch of even more retarded children, the rest of the cast. This stark realization might be enough cause for the parents, aka viewers, to disown said dysfunctional children or drown them in the bathtub, a metaphor for not wanting to watch the show anymore.

The show will introduce new castmembers next season to keep things spicy.By Jocelyn Vena

Lauren Conrad might be saying goodbye at the end of this season of "The Hills," but MTV has announced that the show will be back for another season later this year without its original star. The network also announced that some new castmembers will be joining the show to keep things spicy.
"MTV viewers will find out life in Los Angeles only gets more complicated as friendships, relationships and loyalties are tested like never before as 'The Hills' returns this fall with more episodes of season five," reads a press release to MTV News.
If anyone was worried that Lauren's departure meant other "Hills" favorites would be leaving, fear not: Everyone else will be back to keep the drama alive. "Lauren has moved on, but Heidi, Audrina, Spencer, Brody, Stephanie, Lo and Justin Bobby will be back, as the drama continues with fresh faces, new stories and shocking surprises."
Of course, the show's resident newlyweds will also be back. "Spencer and Heidi will be newlyweds," the statement reads. "So the stakes are higher than ever before for the two to make things work."
Former "Hills" star Whitney Port talked to MTV News recently about why Conrad decided to jump ship. "I think at this point, she's put everybody else and the audience in front of her for the last eight years, so now she decided she needs to put herself first," the "City" star told MTV News. (Editor's note: Conrad actually debuted on "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" in 2004.) "I think she's not happy anymore."
Whitney said Lauren was tired of having a camera in her face at all times. "We talked about that a lot. I know she was having a lot of difficulty with it as the season was wrapping," she said. "I think she needs to do what she wants to do. It's hard. She's had her life on tape since she was 16 years old."

HOLLYWOOD, California — Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag's friendship may be on the road to recovery, but the mending of their relationship isn't far along enough that LC will be attending Montag's wedding to Spencer Pratt this Saturday in California.
When MTV News caught up with "The Hills" star, who will leave the show at the end of this season, Conrad said she won't be there to see the happy couple finally tie the knot.

This will be the last season of The Hills for Lauren Conrad and she’s already finished filming the small stuff, an accomplishment she celebrated at Beso last month. All she needed to do now was film the major stuff that takes up 90% of the show. This could be done in a small room with just her and a camera.
?The producers would make Lauren react to a lot of potential scenarios, because they?re not yet sure how the finale will play out with the other characters,? says our source. ?They would literally give her directions like, ?Now react to Stephanie Pratt being pregnant!? Lauren would just giggle and go for it. She also had to pretend to react to a fake story line about Audrina and Brody hooking up.?
A rep for MTV, who probably has never seen an episode of The Hills, denies this and says it would be impossible to cut a show off of pre-taped reactions. Kidding aside, the rep has a point. They need five takes for Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge to eat a salad and five takes for them to walk and talk at the same time without tripping over their feet. Most people don’t know that The Hills is actually filmed two years in advance because of the amount of time it takes them to get a good shot of Lauren acting surprised. She always gets that emotion confused with constipated.

With the premiere of final seasons of The Hills tonight, MTV needed to drum up some publicity. A good way to do that is to force the star of the show into a bikini and onto the beach. Ergo, here’s Lauren walking around Malibu with some type of mongoloid. I think he may be retarded actually. It’s like he’s never seen a camera before and Lauren is standing there worried he might run to attack it. In moments like this, I always beat my retards down with a Geinko stick. Geinko.
