After nearly a one-year courtship, Jenny McCarthy announced that she's engaged to Donnie Wahlberg.
The blonde bombshell made the exciting announcement while co-hosting "The View" this morning (April 16) and excitedly announced, "I just got engaged!"
She quickly revealed her left hand from under the table and explained, "It's a yellow sapphire."
Jenny continued to discuss the proposal with tears in her eyes and shared that Donnie's son Evan helped out. During her chat, Wahlberg came out on the set to share a kiss with his bride-to-be.
The happy couple started dating last summer. It's the second marriage for both. Congrats!

| Jenny McCarthy Backtracks on Being 'Anti-Vaccine' | Added 10 years ago | Source: The Blemish |

In an op-ed in the Chicago Sun-Times, Jenny McCarthy tries to distance herself from the anti-vaccine movement she became the face of.
McCarthy claims she isn’t anti-vaccine. In fact, she’s pro-vaccine. The media has just twisted her words around. All she’s saying is vaccines have dangerous toxins in them which can cause autism. Like in the case of her now cured son who probably didn’t have autism in the first place.
She even mentions her 2009 article in Time pointing out that she made sure to state her stance wasn’t anti-vaccine.
?People have the misconception that we want to eliminate vaccines,? I told Time Magazine science editor Jeffrey Kluger in 2009. ?Please understand that we are not an anti-vaccine group. We are demanding safe vaccines. We want to reduce the schedule and reduce the toxins.?
Granted, as Jeffrey Kluger notes, she did leave out a line.
People have the misconception that we want to eliminate vaccines. Please understand that we are not an antivaccine group. We are demanding safe vaccines. We want to reduce the schedule and reduce the toxins. If you ask a parent of an autistic child if they want the measles or the autism, we will stand in line for the f–king measles.
Though she also said in that interview when asked about outbreaks ofpolio that have occurred in Africa, Asia and American Amish communities when vaccines are not administered.
I do believe sadly it?s going to take some diseases coming back to realize that we need to change and develop vaccines that are safe. If the vaccine companies are not listening to us, it?s their f*cking fault that the diseases are coming back. They?re making a product that?s sh*t. If you give us a safe vaccine, we?ll use it. It shouldn’t be polio versus autism.
So she’s not anti-vaccine, she’s simply spreading around enough FUD to scare people from getting vaccinated. You can see how this makes no sense at all considering none of her anecdotal evidence has any basis in reality.
It’s like saying you’ll drink bottled water only if the water companies get rid of the cancer causing free radicals that are floating around inside which you know to be true because you had a relative who used to drink water and now has cancer.

| Jenny McCarthy on claims her son was never autistic: 'irresponsible & inaccurate' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

In 2008, Jenny McCarthy claimed to have cured her son of autism through a gluten and dairy free diet and vitamin regimen. She published a book called Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds and later went on to lead a “Green Our Vaccine” campaign. Jenny called for less additives and chemicals in vaccinations and a more relaxed shot schedule. To be fair to Jenny, she wasn’t advocating for a total elimination of childhood vaccinations, although she did claim that vaccinations were responsible for the increase in childhood autism.
In 2010, Time Magazine published a profile of Jenny in which they speculated that her son might never have suffered from autism at all, but possibly had another milder disorder called Landau-Kleffner syndrome. Here’s the relevant part of the Time article on Jenny:
There are dark murmurings from scientists and doctors asking, Was her son ever really autistic? Evan’s symptoms – heavy seizures, followed by marked improvement once the seizures were brought under control – are similar to those of Landau-Kleffner syndrome, a rare childhood neurological disorder that can also result in speech impairment and possible long-term neurological damage. Or, as other pediatricians have suggested, perhaps the miracle I have beheld is the quotidian miracle of childhood development: a delayed 2-year-old catching up by the time he is 7, a commonplace, routine occurrence, nothing more surprising than a short boy growing tall. It is enraging to the mother to hear that nothing was wrong with her boy – she held him during his seizures, saw his eyes roll up after he received his vaccines – and how can you say that she doesn’t know what she knows?
[Time, February 2010 via igloogroups.com]
For some reason this nearly four year-old article is getting new play online, and Jenny is hopping mad. She posted a response on twitlonger in which she refuted these claims and again asserted that her son had autism.
Stories circulating online, claiming that I said my son Evan may not have autism after all, are blatantly inaccurate and completely ridiculous. Evan was diagnosed with autism by the Autism Evaluation Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital and was confirmed by the State of California (through their Regional Center). The implication that I have changed my position, that my child was not initially diagnosed with autism (and instead may suffer from Landau-Kleffner Syndrome), is both irresponsible and inaccurate. These stories cite a “new” Time Magazine interview with me, which was actually published in 2010, that never contained any such statements by me. Continued misrepresentations, such as these, only serve to open wounds of the many families who are courageously dealing with this disorder. Please know that I am taking every legal measure necessary to set this straight.
[From Twitlonger]
I don’t get how Jenny is claiming that she’s “taking every legal measure necessary” when these claims are based on a four year-old article. The statute of limitations to sue for libel in California is just one year. It’s possible she’ll sue overseas, but the longest time she would have to sue in the US would be three years, and that has long since passed. This is just a hollow threat from Jenny and at most she’ll have her lawyer send out some cease and desists.
Jenny does make the point that her son was diagnosed by top hospitals, and I get that she wants to defend herself and stand up for her son. Many people think that Jenny’s position on this issue has done more harm than good, however, and she would do well to stop reminding the public about it. From what we’ve heard, she’s not very well liked by fans of The View, and she’s a polarizing figure at best.

They?re a match made in Hollywood heaven, and Jenny McCarthy rang in the New Year with her boyfriend Donnie Wahlberg last night (December 31).
The flamboyant blonde wasn?t afraid to play a little tonsil hockey with her New Kids on the Block beau as soon as the ball dropped in Times Square.
McCarthy teamed up with Ryan Seacrest to host ?Dick Clark?s New Year?s Rockin? Eve with Ryan Seacrest,? and she explained that despite the crazy hours and cold conditions, she still loves the gig.
Jenny noted, "It's a good 15-hour day, but we will get cuddle time in. We'll spend two hours spooning, warming back up."

| Jenny McCarthy claims Oprah hates her, 'I would be scared she would beat me up' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Now that Jenny McCarthy has a widespread national viewership on network TV with The View, it seems like everyone has come around to the idea that Jenny is pretty annoying and that she kind of sucks as a person. Allegedly, Jenny?s position on The View is hanging by a thread because viewers despise her, and (just my guess) she probably won?t be asked to return for a second year. So in the wake of her overwhelming View disappointment, some people are starting to wonder what went down between Jenny and Oprah. Years ago, Oprah took an interest in Jenny?s shtick (Farty Hot Mom/Quack Scientist) and Jenny signed a (lucrative?) multi-year development deal with Oprah?s Harpo Productions. CB reported in 2011 that the deal eventually fell through without anything ever coming of it (like, say, a talk show). And now Jenny is coming clean about how much Oprah hates her:
Jenny McCarthy is convinced has one very, very powerful enemy: Oprah Winfrey. Chatting with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday, Oct. 29 (with very attentive and affectionate boyfriend Donnie Wahlberg at her side), the View cohost, 40, admitted that she’s “scared of Oprah.”
The sardonic blonde explained that she had a falling out with the mega-mogul, 59, after a tentative deal — McCarthy was to have a talk show on Winfrey’s OWN network — apparently fell through. “I did a deal with her for five years, but we, we kinda shook hands. I would be scared she would beat me up,” McCarthy revealed.
When Bravo’s Cohen asked McCarthy to clarify what happened with the the deal, she confirmed that “It didn’t [work out],” suggesting that she walked away to pursue other interests. “I left. I am terrified . . . I would be like OH NO [if we ran into each other].”
“Do you think you’re on her ‘list’?” Cohen asked.
“I’m sure there’s probably a lot of people on her sh*t list, but I’m probably number 4,” McCarthy estimated.
[From Us Weekly]
Well, that was oblique. What happened, Jenny? ?Um, like, it fell through, um, like, ah, pull my finger, um, it was a deal, um.? Did you sign a contract Jenny? ?Like, um OMG I?m so scared of Oprah, she?s so, like, scary. She hates me, totally.? But did you sign a contract Jenny? Did you not contractually fulfill your development deal with Harpo and that?s why Oprah hates you? ?OMG, I?m so gassy! Warrior moms have, like, so much gas.?
Anyway, Oprah responded to Jenny’s nonsense in a typically Oprah fashion. Oprah tweeted: “@JennyMcCarthy don’t have a shxt list. If I did you’d never be on it. Wishing you only good fortune, love and light and watching @theview.” The Oprah was feeling generous.

Jenny McCarthy may soon be dropped fromThe View because every time she opens her mouth, the only thing people hear is the wah-wah’ing of the parents from a Charlie Brown cartoon. What I mean to say is, viewers think she’s an idiot and is now somehow more unpopular than Elisabeth Hasselbeck was.
?ABC has begun doing deep research on Jenny?s work on the show and the initial findings are that viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth!? the source told Radar.
?The data has revealed that she is FAR more off-putting than Elisabeth.?
That’s quite the accomplishment considering Hasselbeck was an idiot who constantly said idiotic things. It takes a lot of skill to out-idiot that woman. Jenny should put that on her resume once Barbara Walters buys out her contract. “Dumber than Elisabeth Hasselbeck.” You’re hired! — Fox News.

Jenny McCarthy is the ?new girl? on The View this season, and it seems like things aren?t going to well. Thankfully, I don?t think it?s behind-the-scenes drama, like it was with Rosie O?Donnell and Elizabeth Hasselbeck, or even Star Jones, where you could just tell that everything was totally ICY behind-the-scenes, and wouldn?t you rather see that show? As for Jenny, it?s quite simple: viewers hate her. No one is buying her warrior-mom/farty-hot-girl shtick. Thank God.
The View isn?t favorable for Jenny McCarthy! A production source told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the newest co-host of the ABC morning show?s job is in jeopardy because her big mouth is making viewers tune out.
And incredibly, former Playboy Playmate McCarthy, 40, has proven to be even more unpopular with viewers than the polarizing Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who left The View for Fox News, the production insider revealed.
?ABC has begun doing deep research on Jenny?s work on the show and the initial findings are that viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth!? the source told Radar. ?The data has revealed that she is FAR more off-putting than Elisabeth.?
Although The View titan Barbara Walters, 84, who is retiring from broadcasting in summer 2014, ?isn?t looking for a replacement for Jenny yet, she is obsessed with ratings and the longevity of the show, so Jenny needs to turn it around or she will be gone.?
The source is unclear if McCarthy?s deal is for one year or two, but said that ?if Barbara wants her out, they will buy out her contract.
?Right now they?re just trying to adjust Jenny?s performance on the show so that she comes off as more appealing, but that?s an uphill battle.?
According to The Wrap, The View has seen minor dips in total viewership after McCarthy?s debut.
The mother of an autistic son, McCarthy has come under fire by some for her controversial stance that vaccines cause autism.

Yes, if I was sitting around watching TV in the middle of the day (that sounded judgy, but I DO watch TV during the day sometimes, I just usually have it on MSNBC or CNN), I wouldn?t want to watch Jenny either. Just on a superficial level, she?s difficult to watch and listen to. Her voice is awful and her face is full of Botox, and I wince whenever I see her speak. As for the more substantive argument for why Jenny McCarthy sucks: your argument is as good as mine. She?s an idiot. *dusts off hands, proud of myself for my amazing arguing skills*

Before Jenny McCarthy started dating Donnie Wahlberg, she thought he was a total homo. She gave him her number when he was on her VH1 talk show and he didn’t call for two weeks.
The couple first met in March on the set of McCarthy’s Vh1 talk show. “I went a year without dating anybody,” the buxom blonde recalled. “So I don’t know if I was really randy or really ready, but he was there and I gave him my phone number.” She added, “I’ve never given a guy my number, but I was interested.”
McCarthy, 40, was dumbfounded when she didn’t immediately hear from Wahlberg. “‘It took two weeks for him to call me back, and I thought for sure he was playing for a different team, if you know what I’m saying,” she said. “That’s of course my ego, a girl’s ego: ?He must be married, he’s gay, what’s wrong?’”
Or maybe he was debating on the pros and cons of dating a woman who thinks vaccinations lead to autism. If someone believes that despite all the scientific evidence to the contrary, who knows what she’s going to be like in the future. But looks like Donnie took a chance and decided to stick his dick in crazy. Yolo or something to that effect.
