Monday morning, Jennifer Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda performed their new single on the Today Show. The single is ?Love Makes the World Go Round,? and it?s a tribute to the victims of the Pulse Nightclub attack. The proceeds from the single go to the Hispanic Federation?s Proyecto Somos Orlando initiative. I didn?t know Lin-Manuel and J.Lo were that close, honestly, but they are both Puerto Rican and they both grew up in the outer Burroughs, so maybe that was enough. True story: to perform their song live on the Today Show ? a song which is for charity, for the love of God ? Jennifer wore a La Perla bra-top that retails for $1,458. Her terrible pants are also by La Perla.
Why are we even talking about this? Because Jennifer Lopez tweeted a photo of herself and Lin-Manuel at the Today Show. The tweet was aimed at promoting the song, I?m sure. But the hashtag she used caused some side-eyes and some Twitter rage. You see, J.Lo is one of those ?all lives matter? people. This was her tweet, which she deleted very quickly when commenters went HAM on her.
At this point in time, I do think people should stop with the ?all lives matter? stuff. The point of #BlackLivesMatter is that black people are tired of being treated like their lives don?t matter. It?s a rallying cry of ?don?t we count too?? And ?why aren?t our lives worth as much as white lives?? #BlackLivesMatter cuts to the heart of the inequities faced by the black community at every level. If you want to expand the conversation to #BrownLivesMatter, that is absolutely a conversation that needs to happen too, and I believe most Black Lives Matter activists would recognize that ?brown? lives are undervalued as well, that there are structural inequalities for Hispanics, Arab-Americans, etc. BLM isn?t anti-intersectionality, it?s the start of a larger conversation. And J.Lo was wrong to go to the ?All Lives Matter? trap. And she got called out for it.

Jennifer Lopez is an actress, singer, dancer, and proud mother. She?s so enamored with her 8-year-old twins, Max and Emme, that just of thought of them brings her to tears. Jennifer allows her audiences to share these emotional moments in her Las Vegas show, ?All I Have,? currently running at Caesars Palace. The 46-year-old entertainer admitted that the thought of her kids brings her to tears on stage.
Jennifer, currently promoting her role in the upcoming animated flick Ice Age: Collision Course, which opens on Friday, confessed to Entertainment Tonight that having her kids with her brings out her emotional side. Said Jennifer, “People are like, ‘Is she crying!?’ I’m like, “Almost every night, thank you.? She added that, just like their famous mama, Max and Emme love to see their faces projected on the huge screens in that cavernous theater (I saw Cher there, that place is HUGE.)
?They love it. You know, they go, ‘Why is my face up there!?’ My son will be like, ‘Why is my face there? People are laughing at us!’ He gets worried about that stuff. My daughter [just] loves watching it.?

Jennifer has a “favorite things” feature in the current issue of US Weekly. Lopez admitted her love of chocolate (who doesn’t love chocolate?) and shared a few of the things she says bring meaning to her life.
On reliving her past on stage: The Vegas show is a culmination of my career. I can?t say there?s a favorite costume, but I always love the ?Bronx? outfit – it?s a reminder of my childhood and my dream of becoming an entertainer.
On her indulgences: Because I’m so busy, a day off for me is staying at home to relax or spending time with my kids – those are true indulgences. It’s important for me to hydrate and get at least eight hours sleep a day. I try to eat healthy, but occasionally I indulge – I love chocolate or a good meal out at a restaurant with friends.
On who she?s listening to: I really enjoy music by artists like Drake or Bruno Mars – whether it?s an upbeat dance song or a slow ballad, their music evokes lots of emotions.

I can?t imagine Jennifer has any spare time to listen to music. Girl is busy. In addition to promoting Ice Age, in which she reprises her role as saber tooth tiger Shira, she made an appearance at a Hilary Clinton fundraiser at Harvey Weinstein?s Manhattan digs on Monday, wearing an orange dress with a thigh-high slit that left little to the imagination. But, when you think about it, it?s not a surprising wardrobe choice for J-Lo. I think it?s a little much and I don?t think the pale orange hue is doing her any favors. She?s also juggling filming the second season of her TV series, Shades of Blue, and performing in Vegas in July and August. Just typing that made me tired.

Jennifer Lopez?s W Magazine profile just gave me the perfect term for why I love her so much: she is ?the people?s diva.? Like, the people?s princess, only in multi-hyphenate diva form. Anyway, I sort of hate Jennifer?s W Magazine editorial ? you can see the slideshow here. It?s sort of awful, and they made Jennifer wear a terrible blonde mullet wig in half the pics. As for the interview, it?s longer than most W Mag profiles. It reads like a day-in-the-life piece, and Jennifer is really, really busy. You can read the full piece here, and here are some highlights:
The people?s diva: ?I?ve been in the grind and the game for a long time. At a certain point, people respect you when they see you fall down and get back up. The more you?re in this life, the more they celebrate your triumphs. When it comes to work, I never get tired. But with personal failures, I have thought, This is too hard. When my marriage ended, it was not easy to find forgiveness. It wasn?t the dream that I had hoped for, and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment, and anger. But Marc is the father of my children [8-year-old twins], and that?s never going away. So, I have to work to make things right. And that is, by far, the hardest work I do.?
She?s fine-boned: ?When I first came to Los Angeles, someone told me I would be a star because of my tiny ankles and wrists. They said that was the key to it all.?
She?s constantly being swarmed by fans: ?It?s been like that since Selena. I never thought about fame until then. After that film, I would have panic attacks. I remember walking down the street, and someone yelled, ?Jennifer!? and I didn?t know who it was. I ran home. From that point forward, I realized I couldn?t be alone in public. I don?t think I?ve been alone on the street in over 20 years.?
Who is better in bed: ?Last time I was here, they asked me who is better in bed?dancers, musicians, or actors? I said, ?Dancers!? Musicians are too self-absorbed. They are too concerned with themselves to be great in bed.?
On Marc Anthony: ?I hung in there for seven years. I knew very quickly that it wasn?t the right thing.?
On Casper Smart: ?We got together and broke up and are now together again. I still think about getting married and having that long life with someone. I love the movie The Notebook. A dream of mine is to grow old with someone.?
On being more accessible after her stint on American Idol: ?It has been easier. People may now think I?m ?nice,? but they still act surprised when I?m smart. It?s a man?s world, and, truly, people in a business setting do not value a woman as much as a man. I feel like I?m constantly having to prove myself. If a man does one thing well, people immediately say he?s a genius. Women have to do something remarkable over and over and over. And, even then, they get questions about their love life. People underestimate me. They always have, and maybe that?s for the best. It?s fun to prove them wrong.?

I do think J.Lo is smart? in almost every area of her life. She?s dumb in love, but smart everywhere else. And she?s right about people undervaluing her simply because she?s a woman, just as she?s right about constantly being underestimated. I love the bit about her thin ankles and wrists, I love the shade she has for Marc Anthony and I?m absolutely astonished that she hasn?t been alone in public in 20 years. She?s also wrong about dancers being the best lovers ? swimmers are obviously the best lovers!
Meanwhile, there?s one thing I?d like to mention ? last week, there was a controversy about J.Lo?s new single, ?Ain?t Your Mama.? The song is awful, full-stop. But it was written by Meghan Trainor, and there were widespread reports that the track had been ?produced? by Dr. Luke. Jennifer got a lot of online hate and shade for that. But E! News reported that Trainor had written the song several years back and her version was produced by Dr. Luke back then, before Kesha?s lawsuit. Then Trainor gave the song to J.Lo and J.Lo didn?t know Dr. Luke had ever had his fingerprints on it. Trainor confirmed that version of events this week, calling the backlash against Jennifer ?ridiculous? and ?not fair on her, not at all.?

Here are Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Casper Smart heading to the after-party for the All I Have grand opening in Las Vegas.
After wowing her audience, the entertainer changed out of her 260,000 crystal-embellished Swarovski costume into a plunging white dress as the celebrations continued at Mr. Chow at Caesars Palace.
The couple “were so cute and super PDA all night,” an on-looker tells. “Casper just kept kissing her, and telling everyone how proud he was.” After the show, PEOPLE caught up with Smart, who called it “the best show not only in Vegas, but anywhere.”

Here are some catch-up photos from the Golden Globes parties on Sunday night. Can I just say? When the Oscars roll around, I understand why people might want to change out of their Oscar gowns and put on something lighter and more party-ready. I especially understand that for people who are the nominees. What I don?t understand is showing up to the Golden Globes just to present and be a Fashion Girl, then changing into a different frock just for the parties. It seems like a waste of time and effort. But whatever, Jennifer Lopez does it every year. If you remember, I really disliked Jennifer?s mustard Giambattista Valli gown, but I enjoy this Roland Mouret party dress. Surely if she just came to the Globes to present, she could have just worn this, right? This is a fantastic, clean, beautiful gown.
Emilia Clarke in Dolce & Gabbana. Well, it?s better than the goth gown she wore to the Globes. I think I would like this more if the fabric didn?t look dirty. Like, either commit to beige or go with white. This in-between stage looks cheap.
Here?s another example of a party dress being so much more awesome than the red carpet dress, and I?m saying that as someone who enjoyed Laverne Cox?s somewhat matronly Globes look. But this custom Mark Zunino gown is THE BUSINESS.
It looks like the Botox Fairy was working overtime for Globes weekend. Here?s a barely recognizable Kaley Cuoco in red Christian Siriano. She?s trying to do the Jolie Leg of Doom!
Kate Bosworth looks like a creepy doll that came to life in a horror movie. Her look here is Dolce & Gabbana.
Here?s Harvey Weinstein and his wife Georgina Chapman. She?s wearing one of her own Marchesa designs. Do you ever wonder if Harvey thinks her designs are terrible too?
People were debating the level of Taraji P. Henson?s drunkeness at the Globes. I really feel like? by the time she won, most people in the room were half in the bag, so it didn?t really matter. My guess is that she continued to party her ass off at the post-Globes parties too. Taraji changed out of her bridal Stella McCartney gown and into this lingerie-inspired Stella gown. I actually like this one a little bit more? The fit is better.

These are some photos of Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart from October, I just never got around to posting them. Jennifer looks completely different with those glasses, right? Right. Anyway, Casper and J.Lo are still together, much to my dismay. But The Woman Who Is Dumb In Love might be growing up a little bit. Maybe. While I still think J.Lo is an idiot for settling for Casper ? or ?Beau? as she calls him ? she seems to actively avoid the wedding/marriage talk. As in, she doesn?t want to marry him. Maybe she sees him as a placeholder boyfriend until someone better comes along? I don?t know. But I do know that I laughed when she told Ellen DeGeneres what she got Casper for Christmas:
On-again, off-again couple Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart are definitely dating, and that’s all there is to it.
“We were down in Miami together for New Years,” Lopez, 46, says in an interview on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Tuesday. “He was working. I didn’t have to work ? I had literally two days off. We were hanging out.”
The singer and actress, whose NBC drama Shades of Blue debuts on Thursday, has been coy about the man in her life, but assures DeGeneres she’s not hiding big plans. After Lopez reveals she gave Smart, 28, a tuxedo for Christmas ? “I’m opening [my concert residency] in Vegas, and I was like, ‘You can wear this on opening night so you look nice,’” she explains ? DeGeneres shares her hilarious theory about the gift.
“Or for the wedding,” the host says. “When is it? Do you know?”
“No ? no wedding,” Lopez replies. “There’s no wedding.”

At this point, I kind of believe her ? or I WANT TO BELIEVE ? about there being ?no wedding.? Please let it be so. Please let Jennifer not need to marry every guy she?s with. As for buying him a tuxedo for Christmas? it?s just funny to me. She?s Pretty Woman-ing him. She buys him clothes and a truck and she styles him like a Ken Doll. That?s what makes her happy ? getting to remake and style some glorified backup dancer she picked up on a music video shoot.
