Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce flew from Kansas City to New York on Friday, and they were out and about throughout the weekend. They attended a wedding on Saturday, and then they unexpectedly turned up at the US Open men?s final, where Italy?s Jannik Sinner beat the snot out of American Taylor Fritz. Taylor is not a regular at tennis matches, and judging solely from the photos and videos of Taylor and Travis, she looked pretty drunk for much of the match. The US Open?s signature drink is the Honey Deuce, and she looked like she had several.
The bigger story is that Travis and Taylor were joined by an unpleasant guest, and no, I?m not talking about Travis?s unfortunate Gucci bucket hat. Patrick and Brittany Mahomes joined them in the VIP suite, and it appears that the Mahomeses probably flew into New York with them, possibly even on Taylor?s private plane. At last Thursday?s Chiefs game, Brittany and Taylor sat in separate suites, and many Swifties hoped that Taylor was distancing herself from Brittany after Brittany had made it abundantly clear that she?s a huge supporter of Donald Trump. But no, Taylor and Brittany were hugging and loving on each other at the men?s final. Taylor is totally fine with being this friendly with a Trump supporter.
I?ve been giving Taylor the benefit of the doubt for weeks, believing that she was in a tricky position given Travis and Patrick?s relationship. But I?ve run out of excuses for her. This coziness with a moron MAGAt plus her refusal to shut down Donald Trump?s AI ?Swift endorsement? plus her absolute silence on the election in general? Nah.

Taylor Swift had three concerts scheduled in Vienna in early August that had to be canceled last minute when Austrian authorities uncovered a planned terrorist attack. Taylor did not make any public statements at the time, which was the safe and soundest thing to do while law enforcement worked to apprehend the suspect. Taylor ended up not commenting on what happened until a few weeks later, after she?d completed the European leg of the Eras Tour with her second stop in London. Now the CIA is confirming just how serious the situation was. While speaking at a security summit this week, the deputy director characterized the terrorist plot as ?serious? and ?quite advanced,? and that it had the potential to kill tens of thousands of people. Thank goodness everyone took the right steps to ensure that it didn?t.
The planned terrorist plot at Taylor Swift?s shows in Vienna earlier this month was intended to kill ?tens of thousands? of fans, according to the deputy director of the CIA.
?They were plotting to kill a huge number, tens of thousands of people at this concert, I am sure many Americans,? CIA Deputy Director David S. Cohen said on Wednesday after revealing at the Intelligence and National Security Summit that the information Austrian authorities used to stop the terror plot was given to the CIA.
He also noted at the summit held in Maryland that those who planned the attack ?were quite advanced in this.?
On Aug. 7, Austrian authorities arrested two people accused of plotting a terror attack, with additional arrests made in subsequent days. Some of the individuals arrested were found with bomb-making materials and had access to the concert venue, where several shows were scheduled to take place in the days following the arrests.
Austrian officials said the main suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian man, was inspired by the Islamic State group. He allegedly planned to attack outside the stadium, where upwards of 30,000 fans were expected to gather, with another 65,000 likely to be inside the venue. Investigators discovered chemical substances and technical devices during a raid of the suspect?s home.
Austria?s interior minister, Gerhard Karner, previously stated that help from other intelligence agencies was necessary because Austrian investigators, unlike some foreign services, cannot legally monitor text messages.
The main suspect?s lawyer claimed the allegations were ?overacting at its best,? arguing that Austrian authorities were ?presenting this exaggeratedly? to push for new surveillance powers.
Swift had been planning to hold three concerts in Vienna beginning Aug. 8, with 200,000 people expected to attend. Last week, in a social media post, the singer broke her silence about the cancellations after concluding her London shows at Wembley Stadium.
?Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating,? she wrote in a statement posted to Instagram. ?The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.?
?But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.?

Further on in Taylor?s Instagram post she made it very clear that her silence had been intentional. ?My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.? That?s absolutely right. Canceling the shows, cooperating with law enforcement, and not commenting until the entire tour leg was over protected the lives of her fans and everyone who works on the tour. And it sounds like the CIA stepped in fairly quickly to assist the Austrian authorities. This is a whole other conversation, but I find that detail on Austrians not being allowed to monitor their citizens? text messages rather fascinating.

Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce recorded this week?s New Heights podcast last Saturday, just hours after they met Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte backstage at Taylor Swift?s Eras concert at Wembley. As we discussed yesterday, Travis thinks Prince William is ?the coolest motherfker.? That was the big headline and I wanted to get the story out quickly because I knew that it would be one of the bigger stories of the day (it was). The British media is crowing about it too, that Taylor Swift?s cool football player boyfriend thinks an angry egg is a ?cool motherfker.? Of course they?re trying to drag the Sussexes into it too. Anyway, that?s all an explanation for why I didn?t get to the quotes about what the Kelces thought about the royal kids. Turns out, both Jason and Travis spent a little time with William, Charlotte and George and they were full of praise for the Wales kids.
Both Travis and Jason were big fans of 9-year-old Charlotte, who was pictured beaming alongside her dad, 42, and brother, 10, in a selfie with Swift and Travis, both 34.
I gotta say, Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. Prince George was great too. She was so f adorable. Like, I cannot? Jason shared, as Travis agreed and said she was.
She was a superstar, Travis added, as Jason admitted, I dont know. Maybe its because I have three girls now. She had fire to her. She was asking questions, Jason continued, calling that the most electric part of the meeting.
I love it when parents ask their kids to be present, be vocal, Travis revealed. They encourage them to take the lead in a conversation, added Jason, which the Kansas City Chiefs star called such a good parent move.
Just a good meet and the picture, keep it moving. No, let them have a moment, let them feel comfortable in talking to people? If anyone?s doing it right, Prince Williams doing it right, Travis said. So thank you, Your Royal Highness. It was awesome meeting you, and Charlotte and George.

While I generally dislike the way the media has tried to ?assign? personalities to the Wales kids the clown, the boss, the shy heir I do have to admit that Charlotte seems to be very self-assured and, for lack of a better word, ?cool.? It also feels like Charlotte takes the lead and her brothers follow her. Anyway, I don?t have an issue with what the Kelce bros said about the kids. In April, Billie Eilish gave an interview to Billboard about her new album and her attempts to change the music industry and make the industry more environmental and less wasteful. One of the big headlines from Billie?s interview was that she said that too many artists are being wasteful with how many variants they do. In music parlance, ?variants? are multiple versions of the same album, offered in vinyl, CD or digital. Many big artists are ?gaming the system? for record sales and charting by offering twenty different variants of their albums with ?new songs? or remixes or what have you. While Billie didn?t name names in the Billboard piece because multiple artists are guilty of it many people did think of Taylor Swift immediately. The variant issue is Taylor?s whole deal these days, it?s her modus operandi for dominating the charts and sales. She gets her Swifty army to buy the same album like twenty different times, all to get ?new songs? or whatever.
Skip ahead to last week. Billie Eilish released her new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. On the very same day, Taylor decided to drop new variants of The Tortured Poets Department, an album which had only been out for less than a month. Coincidence or conspiracy?
Earlier this year, Billie Eilish was forced to hit back after she was accused of shading Taylor Swift in comments about ?wasteful? artists during an interview with Billboard. Speaking to the publication for a sustainability-centered interview, Billie criticized how normalized it has become for artists to sell multiple variants of the same album. At this point, it?s important to point out that Billie herself sells multiple vinyl variants of her albums, but they all have the exact same tracklist so that fans aren?t forced to buy every version in order to hear all of her songs. She also uses 100% recycled vinyl and scraps for each variant.
?We live in this day and age where, for some reason, its very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging? which ups the sales and ups the numbers and gets them more money,? she explained in the interview. I cant even express how wasteful it is. It is right in front of our faces, and people are just getting away with it left and right,? Billie went on. I find it really frustrating as somebody who really goes out of my way to be sustainable and do the best that I can and try to involve everybody in my team in being sustainable ? and then its some of the biggest artists in the world making fucking 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more.?
Taylor Swift did not publicly acknowledge any of the discourse at the time, but people believe they have now spotted some seriously shady activity from the star. On Thursday, it was announced that Taylor will release three new digital versions of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, on Friday, May 17. Each version includes a first draft phone memo of one of three of Taylor?s songs; either ?The Black Dog,? ?Who?s Afraid of Little Old Me?? or ?Cassandra.? To hear all of the original drafts, fans must purchase all three of the newly available variants at $5.99 each.
And it didnt take long for people to notice that the three new variants were dropping on the same day as Billie?s third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft ? thus putting the two in competition in the music charts.

Like, I don?t pay attention to Taylor?s eleventy billion variant drops because I?m not a Swiftie and I really don?t give a sh-t. Taylor is going to bleed her fans dry if it?s the last thing she does and her fans play her games willingly. The answer is convincing her fans to stop playing her stupid cash-grabbing games. And yes, Taylor absolutely did this on purpose, dropping these digital variants on the same day as Billie?s album drop. Petty petty petty. While I do think Billie was referencing Taylor in the Billboard interview, Billie was also generalizing in the hope that more artists would rethink their wasteful, system-gaming, fan-scamming variant strategy. I hope Billie says some sh-t about Taylor?s private planes next. This could end up being a pretty good beef.

Post-Super Bowl, I?ve gone back and forth about whether I believe Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are in it for the long haul. For about a month post-Super Bowl, my vibe was that they were actually winding things down. Then Travis seemed to recommit himself, and he stayed with Taylor in LA for more than a month, and they reportedly enjoyed their downtime together. Then Taylor released The Tortured Poets Department, most of which is about Matt Healy, with some Joe Alwyn and Travis thrown in. How does Travis feel about it? A ?source? told People Magazine that Travis listened to the album before its release and ?He is always in awe of her.? Which might even be true, but it sounded like it came from Taylor?s people, not Kelce sources. So, yeah, I don?t know what to tell you the vibe is off again. He couldn?t handle her fame, it was too much for him, he didn?t realize that her fans just love her so much, he was unprepared for TTPD?s success. Team Swift ran a similar op on Joe Alwyn post-breakup too Joe only liked Taylor when she was lowkey and never went out, Joe couldn?t handle her super-stardom, etc. When it turned out that Taylor was (most likely) banging Matt Healy at the end of her relationship with Joe. Anyway, the vibe is off. It will be interesting to see if Travis joins Taylor for her European concerts. My half-assed prediction is that Travis will come to Europe for a week or so and then there will be a slow phase-out.

I really don?t mess with Woody Allen?s films at this point, but I did see Midnight In Paris one time, and I sort of enjoyed the premise of modern people being so nostalgic for a different era, they sort of willed themselves into their preferred era at midnight in Paris. Owen Wilson?s character longed to see the Lost Generation?s exploits in 1920s Paris Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, Picasso, etc. I get that kind of nostalgia. What I don?t get is Taylor Swift seemingly longing for antebellum America??? And not even a particularly noteworthy or fascinating time in antebellum America either like, you could make a historical argument for wanting to see the Lincoln-Douglas debates or wanting to meet Harriet Tubman. But 1830s America? You want to go back in time to see Andrew Jackson?s presidency??? So that?s where we are. Taylor?s lyrics in her song ?I Hate It Here? have caused some controversy.
Taylor Swift released 31 new songs on Friday, but she?s facing some criticism for one line in particular. In ?I Hate It Here,? track 23 on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, Swift says she wants to live in the 1830s. The full lyric reads: ?My friends used to play a game where / We would pick a decade / We wished we could live in instead of this / I?d say the 1830s but without all the racists / And getting married off for the highest bid.?
The Tortured Poets Department double album runs more than two hours long and contains 10,663 words, according to a noble soul at The Ringer who spent 45 minutes counting them up, but this one line is standing out among social media critics.
Observers noted that it?s hard to separate the decade from ?all the racists? or other atrocities of the time. Other listeners were quick to point out that the 1830s were best known, historically, for the Indian Removal Act and Trail of Tears, in which around 60,000 Native Americans were forcibly displaced from their homes, with many dying in the process. In Europe, it was also the time of a cholera pandemic that claimed tens of thousands more lives.
The 1830s were also three decades before the Civil War, and slavery was still legal in the United States. Some critics say that the lyric minimizes the struggles of the time, even with the ?without all the racists? caveat.
One X user wrote, ?I mention Taylor Swift once for a joke and now I?m getting news about her, and I gotta say: pretty astonishing to stipulate that she wants to live in the 1830s, ?except without the racists,? and not mention slavery, so slavery still exists but everyone?s chill about it.?
Others used the controversy as an opportunity to make fun of Swift, posting memes or making quips about her private jet. ?My interpretation of Taylor Swift wanting to live in the 1830s has to do with the lack of environmental regulations and how economical it?d be to run a private jet,? said another user.
Added a third, ?Taylor Swift name one thing that happened in the 1830s that wasn?t racism. Quickly.?

I have to say, judging solely from the Coachella pics I?ve seen, the vibe at the festival has gotten more and more ?rich person cosplaying a hippie? with each passing year. Maybe Coachella was always that way, but the whole thing just looks like they dropped an exclusive members-only club in the middle of the Coachella valley.

Taylor Swift completed the Asian swing of her Eras Tour a few weeks ago, with Travis Kelce at her side for her final dates in Singapore. Taylor now has about two months off before the European swing of her tour commences. Reportedly, Taylor and Travis flew from Singapore to LA, where they rested and took it easy for about a week. Then they hopped on a plane for a week in the Bahamas, but they were back in the US by this weekend. They were seen at Nobu in Malibu on Sunday.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are spending some more quality time together following their recent vacation in the Bahamas. The couple appeared in happy spirits as they were spotted on a lunch date on Sunday at Nobu in Malibu.
Swift and Kelce, both 34, were pictured leaving the eatery hand-in-hand while sporting casual looks for their date. In footage posted on social media, the pair were also seen chatting during their date as they sat at a table to enjoy some al fresco dining.
Their outing comes after sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the singer were spotted in the Bahamas for a getaway.
?They vacationed in the Bahamas for several days, a source tells PEOPLE of the trip. It was a much-needed break for both of them. They very much enjoyed it. They are so happy together.?
The day before his Malibu date with Swift, Kelce was spotted visiting his hometown of Cleveland. Along with stopping by one of his favorite restaurants for a slice of pizza, the Super Bowl champ also made time to pose for photos with some fans of his girlfriend.

One of the things which interests me about Taylor is how she divides her time between multiple homes. She still has a place in Nashville, she has a home in LA, and she has a huge loft in Tribeca. For a time (the Joe Alwyn years), I?m pretty sure she had a place in London too? But for much of the past year-and-a-half, she?s been mostly based out of New York. When she started seeing Travis, she would fly to visit him in Kansas City, and go back and forth from KC to NYC. It?s just interesting to me that they?re spending all of this time in LA right now. I imagine they do have more privacy if Travis was coming and going from her New York apartment, the paparazzi would be gathered there 24-7. Anyway, I hope they enjoyed their break in the Bahamas! I sort of forgot that Taylor usually tours with her parents in tow her father, Scott Swift, is especially active in Taylor?s career, and he?s currently with her on tour. Well, apparently, Taylor, her father and some members of the Swift inner sanctum went out partying in Sydney after the Sunday night show. Scott Swift allegedly got into it with a paparazzo:
Taylor Swifts father has been accused of assaulting a photographer on Sydney?s north shore as he and his daughter celebrated the end of her Australian tour in the early hours of Tuesday morning. NSW Police have confirmed they are investigating after Mr Swift, 71, allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf about 2.30am.
Its understood he left the scene before the photographer went to police. Police said the 51-year-old did not require medical treatment. Inquiries are now underway into the alleged assault, with an investigation launched by North Shore Police.
Taylor Swift wrapped up her fourth and final show at Sydneys Accor Stadium on Monday night. It is understood Swift and her team, which included her father, went out onto the Harbour to celebrate the end of the Eras Tours Australian leg. They reportedly partied the night away on a luxury superyacht. They had travelled from the concert venue in Homebush on the luxury superyacht Quantum after Tuesdays concert, Daily Mail Australia reported.

A spokesperson for Taylor Swift is addressing reports the pop superstars dad Scott was involved in an altercation with an Australian photographer early Tuesday morning.
Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water, Swifts rep tells PEOPLE in a statement.
On Tuesday morning local time, Australias Sky News reported that Scott, 71, had been accused of assaulting a photographer on Sydneys North Shore hours after her latest performance.
In a statement to PEOPLE, police ? who could not confirm the identities of those involved ? said they were investigating an alleged assault after a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf around 2:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.
The younger man reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command. The man did not require medical treatment, according to police.

I have no idea if Aussie paps are more or less aggressive than American paps, but if this statement is true, it sounds less like Scott Swift attacked a paparazzo and more like a larger altercation between several people. Like, a genuine scuffle between photographers, security, Taylor?s team and Scott. Imagine claiming that a 71-year-old father of a pop star is running around, attacking paps.
