I?m always worried that interesting, fun gossip is going to fall off a cliff when we get to the sultry summer months, but for several years now, we?ve had some great ?summer stories.? This summer?s amazing Tiddlebanging is the big story, but I think we?re also going to get a lot of pap stroll photos of Kim Kardashian this summer because she?s lost all of her pregnancy weight and she wants people to look at her body. And that?s always fun, because Kim?s style just gets worse and worse. These are photos of Kim in Malibu with her BFF Jonathan Cheban yesterday.
Kim?s ensemble is a DISASTER. And it was glorious. Kim wore a matchy cowgirl look from Peter Dundas at Roberto Cavalli. Kim-In-Cavalli is the new ?Kim in Balmain.? And while I appreciate the fact that a curvy girl like Kim can wear some major designers, she never really looks good in those clothes, probably because those clothes were designed for tall, leggy, curveless women. What bugs me about this look is the WASH. The light acid-wash denim looks so, so bad. I can?t believe we ever thought that denim wash looked good.
Meanwhile, it really does look like the #TaylorSwiftPartyIsOver, especially for the Kardashian-Wests. In an upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim is going to talk about the Taylor Swift-?Famous? controversy. Kim tells her mother ?I did an interview with GQ,? referencing this interview. Then Kim tells the camera: ?I?ve had it with people blatantly treating my husband a certain way and making it look a certain way, and I?m going to say how I feel.?

While I know a lot of people are already rolling their eyes at the sight of Kim Kardashian on the cover of Forbes, just hold on! Because I read Forbes? cover story and it?s super-interesting. The cover story isn?t really a straight celebrity interview of Kim Kardashian: Businesswoman. It?s more like ?How did Kim Kardashian of all people figure out how to profit so enormously from a mobile game and Kimojis?? Like, if the internet is an enigma, Kim has figured it out completely and she?s one of the smartest ?branded? celebrities online. I?m not even joking. Kim was really pleased with her cover too ? she tweeted: ?Such a tremendous honor to be on the cover of @forbes! I never dreamed this would happen& know my Dad would be proud #NotBadForAGirlWithNoTalent.? Well, doesn?t she have a talent? She can?t sing or dance or act, but she?s good at advertising herself and she?s great at branding. It?s a brave new world where those are legit talents to have.
Anyway, you can read Kim?s Forbes cover story here. I found it interesting because they go into the history of how Kim hooked up with Glu Mobile to release the wildly successful Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game, and how involved she is with making sure the game/s are successful. The word Forbes uses is ?shrewd.? As in, Kim is a shrewd businesswoman. She?s not afraid to try new things with online content, emojis and games, and she?s great at building successful ventures from the ground up. The KK: Hollywood game ?has been downloaded 45 million times and generated $160 million in revenue. Forbes estimates that Kardashian has pocketed $45 million from it over that period. This year she earned $51 million to land at No. 42 on Forbes Celebrity 100 list; 40% of her yearly paycheck came from the game.? Here are some assorted quotes from Kim:
Why she?s doing so much online: ?I became really intrigued with the tech world. I started spending a lot of time in San Francisco. I realized this is really going to be the next cycle of my career and this is what I want to focus on.?
When Glu Mobile approached her about doing a game: ?I loved videogames, growing up. I remember I asked Kanye, ?Should I do this?? He was like, ?Yes!? That?s how he got into music, because he wanted to do music for videogames and wanted to create videogames. I was like, ?I wonder if people are really going to ? mimic my life.? ?
How the game came together: Kris Jenner negotiated a deal that provided Kardashian with a small six-figure-minimum guarantee against, sources say, a whopping 40% cut of revenues, after platform fees. (Glu denies this figure.) Kardashian also had overall editorial approval, spending a year finalizing clothing ideas and okaying each storyline in the game. She signed off on ?every single outfit, to the eyeliner, to the hairstyles, to the color tones,? she says, and still does. She loves how successful it is: ?When I found out what my percentage was, I was, like, ?Oh, my gosh.? Then I was like, ?Okay, whatever we?ve got to do to keep this going.? ?

The whole cover story details how Kim keeps up (groan) with Glu Mobile and she sends them story ideas for the game, photos of herself, photos of her clothes (all of which will be used in-game) and more. Kim sounds impressively involved and detail-oriented. Does anyone else wonder if Kim should take over as Kanye?s manager at some point? I bet she could do wonders for his career, just at an organizational level. I?m not even joking.

Back in March, Kim Kardashian caused a commotion when she published a nude selfie on her social media. She actually put black bars over her business, but the commotion still reached a fever pitch. I?m really, really tired of talking about it at this point, but here?s my little recap: some people went really crazy, basically saying that Kim is terrible role model and an awful mother just because she posted that photo. Some other people then reacted and defended Kim?s right to do whatever the hell she wanted with her body without moralizing pearl-clutchers body-policing her. Kim made the argument that she?s a feminist and she should be able to do whatever she wants as long as she doesn?t hurt anyone. She basically said she was empowered by her nude selfies and that there?s nothing wrong with a woman having sexual agency.
Well, Kim is still talking about it. Because who would have thought that one of the biggest pop culture moments of the year would be Kim getting naked yet again? Not even Kim realized that the selfie would become such a big deal. Kim chatted with the Recode Decode podcast on Monday, and she talked more about it:
She still doesn?t get why that selfie was such a BFD: ?When I posted this photo and I had blonde hair and I put the two censor bars, I truly was baffled when people still cared and the response that people gave. They have seen me naked 500 times!?
So why was it a BFD? ?Some people were outraged because I am a mom, some people were so supportive [?] I just think it looks good, I am really not trying to cause a reaction? My personality has never been, ?I?m such a feminist and follow me and be naked!..? If you are conservative and that?s how you are comfortable, more power to you. I respect you. You don?t have to look at what I do.?
She actually thinks she?s more discreet these days: ?Pre-marriage, pre-babies, the answer would have been everything was shareable. After, I would say I keep a good 30 percent to myself.?
She doesn?t mind how she?s portrayed in the media: ?I don?t have a problem with people reporting on things, except for when it?s not accurate. I?m so open. There are so many ways to get to me to find out if it?s accurate or not? Old journalism used to be so accurate, and it?s just not like that anymore [?] that?s what I love about social media. Now the journalist doesn?t have the final say. If you want to, you can refute what?s being said about you that?s not true and clarify it.?

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and North West out and about in New York on Sunday. Kim wore this negligee-looking dress for all of the pap strolls. Kim and Yeezy also took North to see The Lion King. The Kardashian-Wests flew to New York partially because there?s a huge fire threatening much of Calabasas (where many family members live), and there have been evacuations and warnings. Of course, Kanye was also supposed to do a ?pop up? concert in New York which was canceled before it even started, and the whole thing just seemed like a chaotic mess ? go here to see some coverage of the near (or actual) riot.
Meanwhile, Kanye gave a radio interview a few days ago and he ended up talking about his Twitter problem, his family and how he?s a genius. Some quotes:
He doesn?t regret any of his tweets: “We’re going to be gone in 100 years. I can’t say enough.”
He reads the comments: “I wake up in the morning and go read comments?I like it. Any comments or whatever. Hypebeast is one of my favorite sites to go to. They?re hilarious. It?s just the funniest comments and stuff.?I go read it. Wake up in the morning, check it out, read some comments. I got this line on ‘Saint Pablo,’ checking Instagram comments to crowdsource my self-esteem. I was saying that sarcastically.?
But don?t comment about his family: ?I’m crazy about my kids. I?m crazy about Kim. I?m so happy to be a father. I know when I talk about my music I get amped up. I wanna sit and listen. I want to learn what my daughter has to say. What she learns. I just want to learn how she learns in this world. I?m extremely protective.?
He insists that he told Taylor Swift about his song ?Famous?: ?Yes, I told her that we was going to say that. I didn?t tell her. I asked her how she felt about it.?

Just FYI: Kanye?s story about the Taylor Swift thing has remained the same since the beginning, and I tend to believe that he did give her a heads-up about the song. But I don?t know why he?s still talking about her. Even Taylor is over it. As for Kanye?s ?I’m a champion. I’m a winner? This is like Michael Jackson level?? Is it though? Don?t get me wrong, I love Kanye?s self-love, but I do hate when he compares himself to the greatest artists and innovators of all time.

To celebrate British Vogue?s centenary, the magazine has organized several big events. Over the weekend, Vogue UK did ?Vogue 100? Q&A sessions with big-name celebrities. And on Monday night, Vogue UK celebrated their photo exhibition (featuring those portraits of the Duchess of Cambridge) for Vogue 100. The opening had a big red carpet, and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West flew back to London from Rome (where they had attended the opening of La Traviata).
Unfortunately, Kim must have mixed up designers. She wore a British designer, Vivienne Westwood, in Rome and at the Vogue 100 event, she wore an Italian designer, Roberto Cavalli. Technically, this gown is Peter Dundas for Cavalli, for what that?s worth. While I dislike how showy/exhibitionist it is, I have to say that I was surprised by how thin Kim looks here. She really has lost almost all of the baby weight. Her body looks great. It?s just an unflattering dress that squishes her boobs.
More photos? here?s Kate Moss, who was the last one to arrive. Moss covers Vogue UK, on average, twice a year. And it?s been that way for two decades. Moss IS Vogue UK.
Demi Moore also wore Dundas for Cavalli. This is kind of tragic. Why are the sleeves so long?!
Alexa Chung in Prada. I?m fine with the gold tin foil dress, but WHY did she pair it with black polka-dotted pantyhose and black pumps? Tragic.
Bonus David Gandy, arguably the biggest male model in the world. And plus he?s hot.

Here are some photos from last night?s Roman premiere of La Traviata. I shouldn?t say premiere ? it was the opening night for a new version of the famous opera. Valentino invested in this version, and Sofia Coppola directs the opera. The opening was held at the Rome Opera House. And Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were there! Kim and Kanye actually know Mr. Valentino Garavani. Valentino likes them both, and Valentino has invited them to his home in Italy before. So, obviously, Kim didn?t wear Valentino. She wore Vivienne Westwood, for reasons. In some of the photos, you can see that Kim seems to be uncomfortable with how high the slit on the dress really is ? that?s because she was wearing Spanx and you could see the Spanx peeking out of the slit. Besides that, it was actually a nice look on Kim. Westwood?s designs feature so many corsets and boning, so most women have to wear Spanx anyway.
More photos? Keira Knightley in Valentino (I?m pretty sure). I love her in red and she looks so beautiful. I never thought Keira and Kim would end up at the same event in Rome though.
I?m pretty sure Olivia Palermo was wearing Valentino too. I like her, but her job is just showing up places and looking pretty, right?

Here are some photos from last night?s de Grisogono party in Cannes. As I previewed earlier, Kim Kardashian came to Cannes just to attend the parties, and my guess is that Fawaz Gruosi (the older man she posed with) of de Grisogono jewelry was the one who flew Kim out on a private plane, just to attend this party. Although my guess is Kim will stick around through Thursday, for the amfAR gala. Anyway, Kim wore this Lanyu gown which seems uncharacteristic for her usually Balmain-and-Givenchy style these days. This is a remarkably ?clean? look, and I don?t even hate the fact that her hair is too severe and her makeup is caked on. Basically, I like it because Kim looks different. That being said, she still looks like a wax figure.
Speaking of Givenchy, here?s Bella Hadid in a sparkly Givenchy suit. And completely dead eyes. Girl, SMIZE!
Toni Garrn in velvet? I?m okay with this dress, but why did so many ladies have hair in their faces? The ?90s really are back, aren?t they?
Honestly, I think Kris Jenner looks nice here. Call me crazy, but this is a nice dress and I really do think she?s got a great haircut. Of course, she looks freshly filler?d and Botoxed too.
