I believe a lot of somewhat contrarian things about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. ?Contrarian? to the gossip narrative, I mean. The gossip narrative is that Kim is controlling Kanye or not controlling him enough, that his mental illness is her fault and her responsibility, that she and her family use Kanye for fame, and that if Kim ever left him, her fame and finances would collapse. I don?t believe ANY of that. If Kim left Kanye today, she would be fine. Her businesses would be fine, and they might even improve. She would still be incredibly famous we would just stop calling her ?Kanye?s wife? and start calling her ?Kanye?s ex-wife.? That?s it. That?s all that would happen to Kim. I even think that given the extensive documentation of Kanye?s mental illness, Kim would not have an issue getting full custody of their children. Plus, she?s tight with the entire LA legal community through her late father. Basically, Kim could divorce Kanye and come out ahead in nearly every way.
So the question becomes, why hasn?t she left him? I don?t know, honestly. I think she cares about him and even loves him. I think they made some kind of deal in late 2016/early 2017 following his breakdown (which required hospitalization) in which she wouldn?t divorce him but they would lead mostly separate lives. We also know around that time, she did consult with divorce attorneys, but she decided to stick it out. And finally, we know that whenever Kanye goes through a publicly manic phase, Kim basically calls up TMZ and offers up thoughts and prayers.
Kanye Wests off-the-rails campaign stop Sunday in North Charleston, South Carolina may not only hurt Ye politically, he has concerned, upset and alarmed many of his friends and the Kardashians sources connected to Kanye tell TMZ. Our sources say those around him believe Kanye is in desperate need of professional help and is in the middle of a serious bipolar episode, but he wont listen to them.
Were told they also believe Kanye is tanking some of his businesses, if not all of them, with rants like when he went on about Harriet Tubman, claiming she did not free slaves. His family and friends know comments like these are the things that trigger boycotts.
Suffice it to say were told the family is upset that Kanye talked about Kims first pregnancy and how they discussed abortion, something he says he wanted. Then he blurted out that Kim might divorce him for saying that, but even if she does, hed thank her for having North. Its curious he mentioned divorce its usually a topic married folk dont say out loud unless its been discussed. Whether it was or not between Kanyes Forbes interview and Sundays rally you gotta think it puts a strain on the relationship.
BTW were told theres not much concern that Kanyes comments will adversely affect Kims businesses. Were told their money is separate and her and Kanyes brands are distinguishable. Finally, were told his family and friends are also upset because they feel Kanye is a distraction to what is a very important election.

Yeah. Kim hasn?t actually said anything publicly since this manic episode started. She did retweet his presidential announcement, and that?s it. Kim hasnt even been around him during this manic episode I think she?s mostly just tired of this, tired of being forced into the caretaker role for her husband, tired of trying to comfort him and not agitate him during his manic episodes. It would not surprise me at all if Kim really does file for divorce before the year is over.

Like nearly every Kanye West story, the backstory on his bipolar disorder is lengthy, contradictory and backed up by endless interviews and quotes. I won?t even attempt to recap, but People Magazine did a good one here. It is established by his words and actions that Kanye has been suffering with his bipolar disorder for several years. Personally, I would guess that his drinking and drug use in his 20s was probably an early attempt to self-medicate. Over the past five years especially, he just goes through very manic periods and they almost always play out in public, through Kanye?s social media, or Kanye giving interviews and making bizarre, outlandish claims, or what about the time that he seemed to be in some kind of ranting fugue state in the Oval Office?
Anyway, in recent weeks, Kanye has been going through another manic phase. We all knew that as soon as he announced his presidential candidacy via tweet, and then we were sure about it when he gave that God-awful interview to Forbes. Then TMZ got a tip (likely from a Kardashian) that Kanye was in fact ?in the throes of a serious bipolar episode.? As it turns out, People Magazine got a similar exclusive:

The Quarantine Divorce is a real thing, with celebrities and non-celebrities alike. Over the past two months, we?ve seen a rash of celebrities filing for divorce during the pandemic. For the most part, I feel like those marriages were already on their last legs anyway, and the lockdown was just the final nail in the marriage-coffin. So it is sort of with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. For two solid months, we?ve heard about how they are not used to spending this much time together, how they?ve been ?arguing a lot? and ?at each other?s throats? and how Kim, especially, needs some fking space from Kanye. Well, here we go.
Kim Kardashian has told friends she ?doesn?t want to divorce? husband Kanye West as ending the marriage is a ?last option? for her. The A-list pair have been dogged by split rumours after reports of tension in lockdown and while the insider doesn?t deny there?s tension between the couple, friends think a formal split is the last thing on her mind.
?Things are tough between Kim and Kanye because they never normally spend this much time together, but she doesn?t want a divorce,? says the insider. ?She considers her marriage to Kanye and their family together a huge success she?s the only sister who is married and thinks of herself and Kanye as a power couple. The last thing she wants is a divorce especially because the public backlash after her second divorce was unbearable. What I think will happen is they?ll spend time apart in different houses but not divorce.?
The couple has been splitting their time between their $19m LA home and Kanye?s Wyoming ranch in lockdown with a source telling The Sun that the couple was finding spending so much time together tough.

?I don?t want the public backlash? is not a good reason to stay married. Neither is ?I still want to be part of a power couple.? But those reasons are on-brand for Kim. She just misses being able to keep Kanye at a distance and only seeing him here or there on her terms. That?s what their marriage has been like for years performative for the cameras, but they spend tons of time apart. She misses that. So she?ll try to recreate it with separate houses. And I assume she?ll encourage Kanye to spend more time in his dome in Wyoming?

Less than a week ago, we heard that Kanye West had suddenly grabbed the kids and taken them to his dome in Wyoming, leaving Kim Kardashian in Calabasas. I wondered about that. I wondered about the cover story of ?Kanye wanted Kim to have some time to herself.? This lockdown is no joke and I don?t even have kids, and I can?t imagine how Kim is managing in that bland home with four kids and a dome-obsessed husband. Turns out, there was a bit more to the story, at least according to Us Weekly:
Trouble at home. The coronavirus pandemic is testing everyone right now, and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are no exception.
?Kim and Kanye have been arguing a lot during the quarantine,? a source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly. ?Kanye is really getting on Kim?s nerves.? The 42-year-old rapper ? who Forbes recently named a billionaire, thanks largely to his Yeezy sneaker line ? has been ?focused on creating? lately, according to the source. As a result, the 39-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star feels like ?all the parenting duties are falling on her.?
Kardashian and West, who tied the knot in Italy in May 2014, are the parents of North, 6, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 11 months.
?Kim finds it frustrating that [Kanye] doesn?t ask her how he can help with the kids,? the source tells Us.
This is not the first time that the couple have hit a rough patch. In 2016, a Kardashian friend told Us exclusively that the E! personality had ?felt trapped? in her marriage ?for a while.? However, she was dedicated to ?being a supportive wife? on the heels of the Grammy winner?s much-publicized breakdown that November, according to the pal.

Yeah, I honestly still believe that Kim came very close to filing for divorce from Kanye in late 2016. Her marriage was struggling and she consulted divorce attorneys and really considered leaving. Is she going through another phase like that? Perhaps. I kind of doubt this is just about Kanye and their marriage though my guess is that Kim?s fleet of nannies haven?t been working during the lockdown and Kim is actually having to spend more time with the kids than she ever has in her life. Thus, the strain. But this is definitely something to keep our eyes on, post-lockdown. There will be a lot of people filing for divorce this summer.

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian in Glendale last night. She went out to dinner with her mom and a few of her sisters. She was apparently so dressed up because she was filming an episode of David Letterman?s Netflix talk show? Anyway, I really dislike this color on Kim! It?s sort of a muted sunflower and? someone with Kim?s coloring should avoid it. Granted, it doesn?t wash her out as badly as I would have expected, but Kim has always looked much better in red and lavender, but she rarely wears such rich colors anymore. I also kind of think Kim is starting to gain a little bit of weight back, which makes me happy because her body actually looks better now. More proportional, you know? Less like a plastic surgery experiment gone wrong.
Meanwhile, Kim was in Paris a few days ago with Kanye West. They were there to check in with some of their favorite designers, like Jean Paul Gaultier. At Gaultier?s studio, Kim snapped a photo of herself in the mirror, trying on a Gaultier look, but check out Kanye West eating some KFC:

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West came out to the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Do you ever wonder if Kanye is actually well-received at these kinds of events? Yes, he gets celebrities to come out to his Sunday Service stuff, but what happens if he tries to prosthelytize at the VF Oscar party? While wearing a vinyl suit?? I wonder if A-list celebrities talk to Kim. Probably, right? At this point, most celebrities will probably say hi and chat with her. Kim wore this Alexander McQueen gown which looks like a vintage/archive piece. She paired it with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and wet-look hair (gross). Kanye?s suit is by Dunhill.

Kim Kardashian had two awful pregnancies with North and Saint. She had preeclampsia with her first pregnancy (North) and she was induced at 34 weeks. With her second pregnancy, her doctors basically had to operate on her reproductive system for hours because there were so many complications. After that, she knew that her body wouldn?t be able to go through another pregnancy. Apparently, she did ask her doctors about it though, and they told her that it?s not even a discussion the answer was no, under no uncertain terms. Kim discussed all of this as part of her promotion for SKIMS, wherein nine women talk about what cause they?re supporting during this holiday season. The thing is? Kim?s cause is the Bail Project, which has nothing to do with reproductive health issues. Still, she spoke at length about those issues.
Kim Kardashian West is opening up about her harrowing yet fulfilling journey to motherhood. On Thursday, Kim, 39, shared a video as part of her shapewear brand SKIMS? new 2019 holiday campaign featuring the stories of nine women, including herself, and the causes they believe in. For her story, Kim, who revealed she is supporting the Bail Project, speaks about her struggles with preeclampsia and having to undergo five different surgeries to undo the damage pregnancy caused her body.
?When I was pregnant with my daughter North, I had a condition called preeclampsia or toxemia, which is basically when the mom?s organs start to shut down,? Kim, who is seen wearing an ensemble from her SKIMS Cozy Collection, says in the clip. ?The only way to get rid of that is to deliver the baby. At 34 and a half weeks, I had to go into emergency labor ? they induced me. North was 4 pounds. She was almost six weeks early,? Kim explains. She later explains in the clip that after her delivery, her placenta never came out, but instead grew inside her uterus. ?That is what women die from in childbirth,? Kim says.
Despite the daunting experience, Kim longed for more children with husband Kanye West. However, the reality star, who has previously opened up about fertility complications, struggled to conceive.
?After my daughter was born, I still continued to do the process of freezing my eggs. I was able to get pregnant through that with my son Saint, and then I had two embryos left. I had the same condition, same awful delivery that I had with my first daughter,? Kim explains. ?After that, I had to have five different operations within a year and a half to fix the damage that all of that did on the inside.?
After welcoming Saint, now 4, Kim realized she still wanted more kids, but her doctors were against her getting pregnant again. ?I asked my doctors, ?Can I do it one more time?? And they were like, ?We won?t even put an embryo in you ? that would be like malpractice,? Kim says.
The KKW Beauty founder shares that?s when she turned to surrogacy. She used two different surrogates for her last two embryos. Kim and Kanye, 42, 23-month-old daughter Chicago in January 2018 and 7-month-old son Psalm in May ? both via surrogate. ?I?m so thankful for my beautiful kids, no matter how they came to me ? they came to me. I?m so thankful for surrogates. I?m really thankful for my family. I grew up with so many siblings. I just loved being in a big environment. I would have gone through the same pain and back for the result of having my babies. It was all worth it,? Kim concludes.

I didn?t know she had five operations in a year and a half after North was born. I remember that Saint?s delivery was really difficult too and there was talk about Kim being in operation for hours. Woof, these pregnancy/labor horror stories always make me sick to my stomach. There?s so much that can go wrong, there are so many ways our bodies turn against us. Poor Kim.

Kim Kardashian has always thought of herself as American royalty. I?m not even joking! When she married Kris Humphries, she blew it out like it was a royal wedding, and for years, it felt like she was following/copying/mimicking the Duchess of Cambridge?s major moves. Still, all of Kim?s ?American royalty? stuff was years ago and I think maybe she?s gotten over it. Maybe she sees that British royalty isn?t all that, especially now that Kim has dealt with some bullst in her own life (her marriage to Kanye, his mental health issues, getting robbed in Paris). Well, Kim was asked about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and she had some thoughts:
Kim Kardashian has weighed in on whether she relates to the public scrutiny experienced by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. As a member of one of the most famous families in the world, the 39-year-old reality star said she empathises with the royal pair. Appearing on Australias The Sunday Project this weekend, Kim was asked if she felt sympathy for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Kim replied: I think everyone has their own journey. I think their journey is extremely personal, with what [ Harry's] mother experienced and how her life was so affected by the spotlight and by paparazzi. I dont think anyone can really understand what thats like except for them. But I think as Im older and as I have kids, and what I would want for them is just the safest place. I can definitely empathise with their need for having a secure, safe place and taking time for themselves and having privacy when they need it.

What?s interesting, I suppose, is that Kim keeps up with royal news and she has a surprisingly good ?take? on the Sussexes? need for privacy and control over their own narratives. I agree with Kim that much of what?s happening with and around the Sussexes is Harry working through some old stuff about his mother, especially now that he?s a father. Kim is right about how everything shifted for Meghan and Harry when Archie came, because a lot of sh-t shifted for her when she had her kids. Anyway? Kim Kardashian had something interesting to say about the royals. Who knew.

I covered part of Kim Kardashian?s appearance at the New York Times DealBook Conference this week. Kim appeared at the conference with her mom and her husband, Kanye West. It was mostly about Kim and her many businesses, and in addition to talking about Instagram and mental health, Kim discussed spon-con, her law studies and meeting with Donald Trump. You can read the NY Times? coverage of the discussion here. Highlights, mostly from Kim but I added one Kanye section:
Kim on business partnerships and activism: ?I am really cautious about what I spend. So if I overspend on something and a paid post happens to come in at that time, I?ll weigh it out and think, ?O.K., well I have to pay for x, y, and z.? Now it?s a little bit more personal for me. If I have a paid post that comes in and I think, ?O.K., well this can fund x amount of people that are behind bars, that can help free them with simple legal fees that they just can?t afford, then that would be worth it to me, even if the post might be a little bit off-brand for me.? I really weigh out different things now than I used to.?
Kim on meeting with President Trump: ?I focus on prison reform and the President has done amazing things in prison reform. I will also speak up when I feel like something is not how I feel like the world should be and that could be immigration or other things. I?m very focused, there?s a lot that we have to get done in prison reform and I believe I will be more beneficial if I just focus on that at the moment. So I?m grateful for that relationship in that area and I focus on that. But that was a big thing where so many people advised me, ?Don?t go to the White House.? And that didn?t make sense to me because I was like, if someone can get out of prison and get their life back versus my reputation of going to the White House ? when there is only one person on this planet that can make the decision and that would be the president ? and that was even a question for the media, that just absolutely didn?t make sense to me. I would go see anyone in power that would have that decision to change someone?s life.?
Kim on starting her own law firm one day: ?I?m definitely working really hard and it?s a commitment that I?ve chosen to take this time away from my family to study and to not go out with my friends and live a different life. And I?m so O.K. with that. I love it and I just hope that one day I can start a firm that will help with prison reform. I would love to hire these men and women that are behind bars because they know the law better than most lawyers.?
Kanye on starting a church and social media: ?But just as a male opinion, looking at my daughters and looking at my family and as we are starting this church and saying that this innovation and community and what we?re doing with education and what we?re doing you know in politics even now like we have 12,500 acres in Cody, Wyo. Trump has actually opened up the ability to buy more land and in America ? you know America, you can buy land and we can be owners and we don?t often have to be just the product of what black Twitter tells us what we?re supposed to do? This has been taken out of every single one of my interviews so I?m going to say it now: My father?s a Black Panther, my mother was arrested to fight for us to have the right to vote, but it was the right to vote for who we tell you to vote on.?

Let?s start with that bullst Kanye quote. Yes, Kanye is descended from black activists who fought for the right to vote. And now this ahole is out here in the Sunken Place, sidling up to the white patriarchy, the same white men who make the oppression of marginalized communities their political platform. It?s not that Kanye doesn?t have the RIGHT to vote for Trump. It?s that he shows off his profound ignorance and lack of history by doing so.
As for what Kim said about meeting with Trump? as I?ve said from the beginning, Kim weighed it all and decided that she was okay with a ?ends justify the means? transaction with Trump. I hate-respect it.
