Enjoying the summertime weather, Gwen Stefani had some family fun in Dana Point in southern California on Thursday (July 30).
The singer and mother played around, running up and down the beach with 11-month-old Zuma and 3-year-old Kingston at the St. Regis beach resort.
With help of father and husband Gavin Rossdale, Stefani snapped a few shots of Zuma taking steps along the beach, who loved playing near the water and enjoyed himself in the sand.
After 5 years, Stefani has been back on the road with her band No Doubt for a reunion tour. The 40-year-old kept busy while being out of the band creating two albums of her own and even a clothing label.
No Doubt was supposed to go on tour last year, but that was canceled when Gwen found out she was expecting baby Zuma. She also admitted that being pregnant delayed song writings for No Doubt’s seventh album that was supposed to come out in 2010.
And, although we know her as a performer, her priorities have changed. “My priorities are always going to be to my husband and family now,” she says.

She has been plenty busy on the uber-successful summer comeback tour for No Doubt, and yesterday (July 29) Gwen Stefani was spotted arriving at a hotel in Irvine, California ahead of her gig there.
The “Hella Good” songstress was joined by her husband Gavin Rossdale and two sons Kingston and Zuma as she disembarked her tour bus and headed inside.
As always, Gwen was looking sporty sexy as she strolled past the photogs in a grey top with a frilly summer skirt and a massive handbag.
Playing the role of the doting father, Gavin made sure his boys had plenty of activities to keep them happy, carrying a scooter for Kingston as he hopped off the bus and tending to Zuma while relaxing on the lawn.

Gwen Stefani is Elle Magazine’s July cover girl, and the excerpts from her interview are pretty funny. Long gone is the hardcore chick who could play with the big boys - Gwen seems to feel strongly that her marriage to Gavin Rossdale and her two sons, Kingston and Zuma, take ultimate precedence over anything No Doubt could offer. Gwen acknowledges that she could no longer have ?that relationship with them [No Doubt bandmates] anymore.? Except that she?s on tour with No Doubt right now. Oh, well. I?m sure they?re sick of her bitching too.
As for Gavin and the kids, Gwen sounds a little harried with the whole ordeal of having a family, saying ?I got married and had two human beings come out of my body — plus two albums and two clothing lines that were born during the same period. I’m still nursing! I’m a little sucked dry.? She also has a funny line about how she hopes Kingston doesn?t turn into ?a freak?:
On being a mother: ?It?s one thing when you have an infant, but when you have this two-or three-year-old going, ?Mommy, what?s the deal?? it?s harder. Kingston?s whole thing is, ?I need, I need.? He is insane right now. We?re just hoping for the best and that he?s not going to turn out to be a freak, but we?ll see.?
On celebrity: ?Obviously, I?m not anything more than I am. I?m just, like, totally normal. The fact that any of this has happened, that we?re sitting here at the Beverly Hills Hotel just gets me going, like, What??
On leaving No Doubt: ?Everybody?s making it like there?s all this new tension, you know, like I stepped away from the band and now they?re jealous of me, and look, maybe there is a little bit of that.?
On how her priorities changed from band to family: ?I wasn?t even married. Now I?m a wife and a mother of two. It?s a really different role. I always referred to No Doubt as a marriage, because that?s what it?s like to be together for so long and go through what we?ve been through. I can?t really have that relationship with them anymore. My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now. That?s a huge, huge thing.?
On her future: ?I might never be able to write another song. Who knows? I did try. So here we are, going on a tour without a new record. But, then I think, what I’ve gone through is major, right? I can just imagine Gwen saying that ?freak? line. In her defense, she was totally joking. If she was serious, I might say Kingston?s got a lifetime of therapy awaiting him. But he?ll probably turn out fine. Good enough for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, in any case. You know what?s weird? My mother absolutely adores Gwen Stefani. She doesn?t listen to No Doubt, couldn?t name one song of Gwen?s, but she just thinks the world of Gwen. I think my mom just likes her because she thinks Kingston is such a little cutie. I have to admit, that cute little freak Kingston made me like Gwen more, too.

It's ironic that a reunited No Doubt performed their 1995 breakthrough hit, "Just a Girl," on American Idol" Wednesday night, when the season's only remaining female contestant, Allison Iraheta, could have used a bit of that girl power to avoid exiting the "Idol" stage.
It was the first time the group — which officially kicks off a reunion tour on May 16 with a show in Las Vegas — had ever appeared on the show, though singer Gwen Stefani is no stranger to "Idol." She visited in 2007 to mentor the finalists and was joined by Akon to perform her solo hit "The Sweet Escape."

The No Doubt reunion tour is finally on. With a pair of high-energy shows — Saturday at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and a Sunday night headlining slot at the Bamboozle Festival — the O.C. hitmakers officially returned to the road.
Though their summer tour with Paramore doesn't kick off until May 16 in Fresno, California, the guys (and gal) are already getting their tour legs back. Since they're bringing their families on the road with them this time around, that means getting used to doing things a little bit differently.
"I think we're gonna sleep a lot less than we ever have,"
Gwen Stefani joked. "Normally, you sleep the whole day, which was my favorite part about touring, but that's a thing of the past. We get to see a lot more of the country, though, [because] we're actually leaving the hotel room."
"We have a bet about the nannies. Who can score the most nannies within the band?" drummer Adrian Young added. "We haven't started it yet, but I'll make some predictions when we're off camera."
And though there's going to be babies and nannies galore this summer, ND swear they're not using the tour solely as family time. No, this jaunt is also about reconnecting with their fans and their music. The end goal, they say, is to get inspired to write a new album.
"These are all steps in the process of making the record," bassist Tony Kanal said. "That's what this tour is. And it's kind of cool, because it's nontraditional. Usually, you make a record, and you go on the road. And there's something sort of challenging and exciting about the fact that we're doing it a little bit differently this time around. And, of course, when we do something, we can't really do it small, so here we are doing 55 huge shows, but I think it's going to lead into us making a great record, and I really honestly believe that. Once we reconnect onstage and reconnect with all the people who have supported us, I think it's going to inspire us to make an amazing record."
So even though they've already got plenty of babies in tow, No Doubt plan to get positively pregnant this summer — with songs, at least.
"I think it's really super-rewarding to write music," Stefani said. "For me, personally, it's the magic of the whole thing. It's something you don't have control over. Every time that I've ever written a song, it's always a miracle. I go, 'Wait, how did I write that?' ... And I think that's the journey we're on right now, is to figure out how to do it again. And I do that every time, and I know that, but it's this whole writer's block, frustrating and tortured process. But the reward of that — especially if it's a hit, and you know it right away when you write it if it's going to be — there's kind of nothing like that, because you're creating something. It is like having a baby, in a way, because it's something that's there permanently, that you created and comes through you and ... I think that's what we're all aiming towards."

The wait is over: No Doubt officially ended a near five-year concert hiatus on Friday (May 1), taking the stage on the "Today" show for a three-song set that showed they haven't missed a beat.
Though the skies over New York's Rockefeller Center were overcast, ND were sunny enough to cut through the dark clouds, beaming, rocking and swaying — and sounding great — much to the delight of the squealing audience, some of whom had been waiting since 2 a.m. to catch the return of the Orange County legends.
"This is amazing, it feels so good to know they're back together," Carly Balusco, who slept on the sidewalk to catch the show, yelled. "I just saw them backstage, and they look amazing, can't wait to see the tour. My heart's pumping so hard right now."
"This is my 13th No Doubt show. I'm seeing them tomorrow, I'm seeing them at Bamboozle, and I had to see them today, for the first show," Elle Lensith, who was jammed in near the stage, added. "It's so awesome they're back. They're timeless, and they'll always be great."
And they were. The band — Gwen Stefani in a black Fred Perry top, bleached-out jeans, platforms and red suspenders, the rest of the guys wearing white from head-to-toe (aside from drummer Adrian Young's striped knee-socks) — kicked things off with "Spiderwebs," bobbing slowly to the up-ticked guitars and breezy horn lines. Stefani ordered the audience to throw their hands up (and boy, did they), then pogo'ed from side-to-side, bassist Tony Kanal and guitarist Tom Dumont exchanged giddy smiles, and the crowd sang along with every word. It was like it was 1995 all over again.
"Don't Speak" was next, with Stefani clutching the microphone tight, closing her eyes and belting it out, with the thousands of No Doubt fans packed into Rockefeller serving as her back-up singers.
They closed with "It's My Life," their Talk Talk cover from 2003, again, the audience sang along loudly, but Dumont, Kanal and Young — plus ND's two auxiliary musicians — really got the chance to shine here, creating a shiny, muscley bit of New Wave shimmer that seemed to lift the clouds, if only for a second.
And then, with the audience cheering and chanting their names, No Doubt embraced in the middle of the stage, waived their hands, and departed. A pair of warm-up shows await: Saturday at the Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey; and then Sunday at the Bamboozle Festival at the Meadowlands. The it's on to their big summer tour with Paramore ... but judging from what fans saw today, ND are more than ready right now.
"They'll always stick together, they'll always be a family. They'll always be great," Jennifer Sanduca, told us after the performance. "It's like they never took a break, seeing them up there today."

No Doubt have been off the road for nearly five years now. That's all about to change.
On Saturday, Gwen and the guys will take the stage at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, then on Sunday, they'll close out the Bamboozle Festival at the Meadowlands. Both dates will serve as tune-ups for a massive summer tour with Paramore, their first full-scale jaunt since 2004.
So, yes — this is a fairly huge deal. But unlike any of the innumerable reunited bands gearing up to hit the road, No Doubt aren't looking at their tour as a way to make tons of cash. Rather, they're using it to kick-start the creative process for a brand-new album, reportedly due in 2010.
"We're calling it 'the procrastination tour' ... well, I am, at least. I'm the biggest procrastinator," Gwen Stefani laughed. "It's not their fault, it's my fault, because I had this whole game plan: 'OK, I'm gonna go on tour with my last record, I'm gonna come home, I'm gonna get pregnant, I'm gonna have a baby, but while I'm pregnant, I'm gonna make the No Doubt record.' That was, like, the plan, but it all didn't work.
"Like, we got a lot of hang-out time and we talked and had so much fun together, but we didn't actually make too much music," she continued. "Maybe around 4:45 to 5 o'clock we'd actually play the instruments and then we'd all have dinner. There was a lot of eating going on."
So, in order to break the deadlock, they all decided to hit the road. And from the minute they began lining up summer tour dates, the floodgates opened.
"You know, it all made sense. We were in the studio, trying to write [songs for the new No Doubt record]. Things weren't coming. Gwen was feeling like she couldn't find the place where she wanted to start the writing process. I think she always goes through this and I think we, uh, we just need to find ourselves. We just need to get out on the road," bassist Tony Kanal said. "And the four of us looked at each other and said, 'It's time to play,' and as soon as we said that, the pressure was lifted ... we got really excited. It was like four adults became four little kids again. We're giddy about it."
