No matter how much people snark about big-time celebrities, running off in their big Gulfstreams to ?raise awareness? of environmental causes, some of them do actually stick with the cause. Such is the curious case of Leonardo DiCaprio. He?s been an environmental activist/advocate for a dozen years, and he?s consistently put his money where his mouth is. He?s been mocked and scorned, and he?s stuck with it. Props to Leo!
To celebrate this year?s Earth Day (or Earth Week, if your world swings that way), Leo is auctioning off a bunch of stuff to benefit Global Green USA. I just looked at the website, and it seems like a really good, well-organized group. They work on the individual, local, state, national and international levels, tracking sustainable environmental technology, water issues, rebuilding New Orleans, and encouraging green spaces and designs in public spaces and cities. The site also has some really cute pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal and Neal Patrick Harris (two swoons).
Some celebrities need to sell off their stuff to fans to make a profit, but if you’re as famous and successful as Leonardo DiCaprio, you can afford to give things away for a good cause.
Always an environmentalist, Leo is auctioning off some major items to benefit Global Green USA, a cause aiming to build a more sustainable future for the world and positively affect climate change.
Starting at 7 p.m. PST tonight through Earth Day, April 22, fans can bid on items such as a personal meet and greet with Leo for a fan and up to three guests at the red carpet premiere of his upcoming film, Shutter Island; autographed costume pieces from Catch Me If You Can; signed memorabilia from Titanic and personalized headshots for the ultimate Leo fan.

Oh, Titanic memorabilia! I bet that stuff goes for a lot of money, but the biggest price tag will probably be for the Shutter Island tickets. Go to the eBay auction if you?d like to hang out with Leo!
Shutter Island comes out later this year, and it sounds really good. Leo reteamed with Martin Scorsese, and the excellent cast includes Michelle Williams, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Jackie Earle Haley. It?s set in the 1950s, too, so we can look forward to awesome costumes.

The “Body of Lies” stud and his supermodel sweetie made separate exits from the terminal, so as not to be photographed together after their flight from New York City.

He’s always been interested in using his celebrity for good causes, and last night Leonardo DiCaprio was spotted at the 8th Annual Cinema for Peace gala at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.
The “Blood Diamond” stud was spotted arriving on the red carpet ouside Konzerthaus Gendarmenmarkt, sporting a black overcoat along with a black suit, black necktie, and white button-up shirt.

Held in London’s Leicester Square, the “Titanic” co-stars posed for photographers before heading inside to check out their Sam Mendes directed romantic drama.

Following an overnight International flight, Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Bar Refaeli were spotted arriving into Heathrow Airport in London, England on Sunday (January 18).
Ever the camera shy couple, the pair pulled their hats down over their faces - waking out of the terminal along with Leo’s mom, Irmelin.

Making their way out of Los Angeles after spending the week in town following the Golden Globes, Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli were spotted preparing to depart from LAX International Airport on Saturday (January 17).
With the “Revolutionary Road” hunk getting patted down as he passed through security, the cute couple happened to hit the terminal just one hour after Leo’s mother Irmelin hopped on a departing flight.

Unlike Gwyneth Paltrow?s extreme attitude towards weight control, Kate Winslet has a relaxed and much healthier way of keeping her body in shape. According to a recent interview in Elle, Kate says she doesn?t even go to the gym. Instead, she spends twenty minutes a day doing a pilates DVD, and doesn?t get too crazy with what she eats. And the actress says she genuinely doesn?t understand all the body obsession in Hollywood.
Forget trainers and two-hour gym workouts. Kate Winslet has another secret to her movie-star figure: 20 minutes and a DVD. Winslet, who at 33 is a slim size 6 (UK size 10), tells the UK edition of Elle that “I don’t go to the gym because I don?t have time, but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home.”
And, Winslet says, she’s been the same since she had her second child, Joe, five years ago. “I still don’t believe this craziness for being skinny, but I eat sensibly and I don’t stuff down chocolate biscuits,” she tells the magazine in its February edition.
Despite a set of stunning, sexy shots in Elle that show off her body, she is modest about her shape, calling herself “pretty average.” She adds, “I have cellulite, I have a rumply tummy and my boobs have dropped. I did think that post-kids, my sex scenes days were over.”
Far from it. Both her current movies ? Revolutionary Road, directed by her second husband Sam Mendes, 43, and costarring Leonardo DiCaprio, and The Reader ? contain sex scenes.

Kate?s attitude sounds a lot better than other people?s extremes. The press ? especially the British press ? has always been obsessed with documenting her weight. She?s gone through periods of being a bit heavier than she is now, but Kate?s never been anything close to fat. And she?s been steadfast in her refusal to diet or go to any kind of extreme measures to conform to other people?s ideas of what her body should be. Clearly her focus is on health, not on weight.
