This story in US Weekly irked me. I don’t know if I’m more annoyed at how rude the story is, or if it’s the fact that I’m defending Demi Moore. As you may know, Ashton Kutcher showed up with his new girlfriend at the Oscar after party thrown by Madonna and Guy Oseary. This was the same party that Ashton’s estranged wife, Demi Moore, co-hosted for the last two years. Except Demi was away at rehab at the time and Ashton knew he wouldn’t run into her. By going there with his new piece, Ashton was ensuring that Demi knew about his new girlfriend directly from her friends. It was a cheap move, and he could have easily gone to a different party that wasn’t sure to have so many of his and Demi’s mutual friends. Anyway here’s the story, which makes Demi out to be the desperate one. She may well be, but it’s not her fault for asking about Ashton after he did this.
“She spiraled after her split with Ashton and knew she needed help to get back on track,” says an insider of Moore, who was rushed to the ER January 23 for convulsing after doing whip-its at her Beverly Hills home. “Rehab was the only thing she could do.”
Yet for all her recent progress, a source says Moore… is still obsessing over her estranged hubby. After [Ashton] was spotted at a party in L.A. February 25, Moore demanded details about his date, screenwriter Lorene Scarfaria, 33. “She had a friend ask a party guest, ‘Was he with that girl Lorene?’” says the source. “She was asking about it like we were in middle school.

Demi and Ashton first started dating in 2003 and they were married in September, 2005. So Ashton has been Demi’s partner for about nine years, and they were trying to work things out up until October of last year. Technically they’ve only been separated for about four months. Yet somehow when Demi asks for details of a date that Ashton brought around her friends, Demi is the one who is being immature. In no way do I find Demi mature by any stretch, but it’s really normal to ask for details of your ex husband’s new girlfriend, even years after a divorce. A good friend would have told Demi and not cut her down for it behind her back. I don’t think any “friend” told US this story thought, I think it comes straight from Ashton’s camp. Ashton is the one behaving like a massive douche here and yet Demi is the one getting blamed. I only hope she sees how much better off she is without him and is able to move on.
Demi returned to L.A. over the weekend after successfully completing rehab at an undisclosed location. She also took a few days to unwind with a tropical vacation at Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos. Ashton is said to have visited Demi in rehab, and I’m sure he did it out of the goodness of his heart and not because his image was taking a hit because he was partying so much while she was in crisis. I don’t like either of these people, and I don’t think Ashton owed it to Demi to see her, or that he’s helping her by giving her any hope that they might reconcile. It’s just that his article is not sitting right with me and sounds like negative spin.

This week’s issue of In Touch has a rather positive story about Demi’s stay in the Cirque Lodge rehab in Utah, where she’s resided for the past few weeks. Of course, her decision to enter rehab followed a hospitalization for substance abuse issues and was prompted by a seizure after Demi either did whip-its or smoked k2 spice or both. For quite some time, Demi’s also been all jacked up on Adderall and energy drinks while refusing to eat food as well.
Now In Touch reports that Demi is “thriving in rehab” and that she’s already gained back ten much needed pounds. Is this story true? One can only hope:
Just a few weeks ago, Demi Moore was so distraught over he breakup with her cheating husband, Ashton Kutcher, that she was literally starving herself to death. Dangerously fragile — both emotionally and physically — Demi existed solely on lettuce, liquids and pills, and friends feared for her life. But fortunately, Demi checked into rehabe before it was too late — and In Touch has learned that she’s been making a remarkable recovery. “She now weighs over 100 pounds,” a friend reveals to In Touch about the actress, who entered treatment for anorexia and addiction issues reportedly at Utah’s Cirque Lodge after suffering a drug-fueled seizure on January 23. “She is totally committed to getting better.”
Indeed, Demi, 49, has gained 10 pounds since she entired the facility. And, after realizing that she has a lot to live for despite the humiliation Ashton put her through, she has been dutifully eating three meals a day. “She’s thinking about extending her stay in treatment for a few weeks or even months,” the friend reports. “Demi has a long way to go, but she is getting better. She has many days where she feels great. She is on the right path and won’t leave rehab until she’s ready.”
With Ashton completely out of the picture, it seems Demi will truly “come out on top,” as har former publicist, Michael Levine of LCO, tells In Touch. “She’s a real survivor.”

The story also goes into detail about Demi’s former diet including a phase where she refused to eat anything but kale, spinach, and collard greens (and never carrots because she feared the sugar in orange veggies). She was also reportedly so terrified of the starch in vegetables that she would often boil veggies and merely drink the broth. When Demi would “eat” beef, she’d only chew it for awhile to taste the juices and then spit out the meat. As we’ve already heard, she often indulged in red bull and vodka but also kept cravings away with green tea and often did the Master Cleanse (with water, lemon, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup) for ten days at a time. Yikes. No wonder she looked like such a skeletal mess.
As a side note, this week’s issue of Star talks about Demi’s “dark secret” of a half-brother, James Craig Harmon, who is currently serving a 10 year prison sentence (he’ll be out in 2015) in Texas for attacking his fiance and threatening to kill her. Apparently, he’s got quite the history with drugs and weapons. Scary stuff, but I think he’s probably the last thing on Demi’s mind right now.

What’s the point in recapturing your youth if you don’t have a 20-something boyfriend to share in your whip-its and K2 Spice?
A report by Us Weekly says Demi Moore has been surrounding herself with young people to make herself feel better. Among her favorites is Zac Efron, her daughter’s good friend.
“She’s been mixing pills and Red Bulls, among other things,” another source says.

CB already covered People Magazine?s cover story this week – Demi Moore and her ?dangerous desperation? to stay young and skinny. And now Us Weekly has revealed their cover story – which is also about Demi being desperate, this time about really young guys. According to Us Weekly (and HL), Demi has been trying to hook up with her daughter?s friend (and rumored boyfriend) Zac Efron. Poor Zac finds Demi ?creepy? though. Hollywood Life also repeats that gross story about Demi ?grinding? on Victoria Justice?s boyfriend’s ass. Fo? real. You know who has my sympathy at this point? Rumer. That poor girl.
The night of Demi Moore’s Jan. 16 911 call was even scarier than it sounded.
“Everyone thought she was going to die,” a source tells the new Us Weekly of the emergency, in which Moore, 49, collapsed, and was “convulsing” after smoking an unknown substance.
It was the culmination of months of self-destructive partying (and drug use) for the newly single star, struggling to make sense of things as she nears 50 without husband Ashton Kutcher, from whom she split late last year.
“She’s been really down, and she’s surrounding herself with young people to make her feel better,” an insider tells Us of Moore, who’s been obsessed for years with staying young and thin.
“She’s been mixing pills and Red Bulls, among other things,” another source says.

I don?t even know what to say about this mess at this point. Demi clearly has significant issues, and this has gone beyond a simple public-relations problem, although I do think the root of Demi?s problem might be the dichotomy of how she views herself (hip, cool, young, relevant) versus the reality of who she is now (sad, desperate, kind of pathetic). I don?t think it?s as easy as saying ?Demi needs to act her age.? This woman has mental health issues, and a good publicist can?t fix the crazy.
So what?s my armchair advice to Demi at this point? Go away for a while. Take a year or two off, don?t work, go back to Idaho or something. Don?t tweet. Don?t give interviews. Get clean and sober. Wear sweatpants for a while and stop messing with your face. Eat real food. And then, after some time has passed, come back. Relaunch yourself as smart and effective producer who still dabbles in acting. Give a few interviews, but only to the major outlets. Write a tell-all book, and really TELL ALL.

I wanted to add an “ORLY?” at the end of the part about how Demi is a “private person” but I thought that you could easily fill that in, given what we know about Demi “twitter addict” Moore. Demi’s people have released an unofficial statement to People Magazine, meant to be some kind of damage control after her overdose on “over the counter” but dangerous drugs like Whip-its and K2 Spice. We’ve also heard how she’s addicted to Adderall, downing Red Bull and coming on inappropriately to very young guys. Now comes the inevitable response, and it’s weak:
Having lived in the spotlight for more than three decades, Demi Moore has long crafted her image as a polished, glamorous star.
Privately, however, the 49-year-old actress had been unraveling in the months since her November split from husband Ashton Kutcher.
As she seeks treatment in the wake of her hospitalization on Jan. 23, Moore is struggling with the public nature of her breakdown.
“Ego-wise, this is the worst thing that could happen to Demi, because she’s such a private person,” a source close to the actress’ circle tells PEOPLE. “She’s embarrassed.”
But Kabbalah, the form of Jewish mysticism that Moore has long studied, instructs that adversity can ultimately prove beneficial, according to an insider.
Moore’s troubles “can be an opportunity, a blessing, and not a curse,” says the insider. “The right intervention happened in her life. From a spiritual sense, it is a gift. She has a real opportunity to grow from it. She has to take responsibility for her life.”

There are a lot of laughable lines in this story. I’ll just add some additional details to People’s quotes. My quotes are the ones that aren’t in italics.
“Demi Moore has long crafted her image as a polished, glamorous star” by having her publicist leak details about how “sexy” she is when she dances on tables.
“Ego-wise, this is the worst thing that could happen to Demi, because she’s such a private person…” which is why she tweets photos of herself in a bikini and regularly sent public love notes to her husband.
“But Kabbalah, the form of Jewish mysticism that Moore has long studied, instructs that adversity can ultimately prove beneficial, according to an insider. ” So they’re probably teaching Demi that she can move on from this, and that everything happened for reason. Given what I’ve heard about Kaballah, and knowing Demi’s celebrity status, I doubt they’re going to question her or bring awareness to the fact that she’s an addict who’s been starving herself. They give lip service to taking responsibility for her actions, but she’s not in rehab and is just doing what she always does in a crisis.
Despite occasionally running stories from Demi’s publicist, People Magazine seems to feel the same way a lot of us do. They mildly call out Demi, yet again, on their cover. They say that her obsession with staying young led to her breakdown. The title of this story on their website is surprisingly harsh, for People, “Inside Demi Moore’s Dangerous Desperation to ‘Stay Young and Skinny‘”
But as the actress approaches her 50th birthday ? and her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, 33, began to crumble ? several sources tell PEOPLE in this week’s cover story that the 49-year-old star battled deep feelings of insecurity. In fact, sources say the star was barely eating and partying wildly before her drug-fueled breakdown.
“As Demi got older, she convinced herself that she needed to stay young and skinny to remain attractive to her husband,” says a source who knows the former couple.
Continues the source: “She needed reassurance all the time that she was hot and sexy.”
Another source says that Moore, who is now seeking treatment following her Jan. 23 hospitalization, “was always fixated on being young. And the only thing that tied her to that, as she got older, was her marriage to a younger guy and hanging around young people.”

We knew this, but when People says it they take it to a whole ‘nother level – that sector of the public who doesn’t pay as much attention to celebrities as we do. Demi and her aging crisis are now a major talking point.
A lot of outlets are wondering whether Demi Moore’s 911 call should have been made public. I think that it’s not an issue of whether Demi’s 911 call should be public, it’s an issue of whether any 911 call should be public. It seems invasive and unnecessary. We’re hearing people and their loved ones at their most vulnerable moments, sometimes right before they die. I hate 911 calls and would prefer to never hear another one in my life.

There have been rumors that Demi Moore went off to in-patient rehab, as you might expect a celebrity to do in so high profile an overdose case as Demi’s. According to a new report on E! Online that’s not true, and Demi has just been seeking “spiritual” help. Demi is a longterm member of the Kabbalah cult. She supposedly went on a couples Kabbalah weekend in the woods with Ashton during their marriage crisis. We know how that turned out, and we also know that Kabbalah is just as money-grubbing, and probably as ineffective, as any other cult run by people who are in it to get rich.
This is what Demi does when she’s in crisis, she turns to Kabbalah and probably drinks some expensive phony blessed water mixed with Red Bull, with which she washes down Adderall. She’s not ready to get help yet, so she’s turning to people she pays a lot of money to give her a religious experience that probably in no way challenges her. I’m making assumptions based on how she’s done under Kabbalah so far, along with some things that Madonna’s estranged brother, Christopher Ciccone, said about Kabbalah. He said that”Kabbalah in many ways has validated some of [Madonna's] bad behavior. Now it?s her way or no one?s way because she?s got God on her side… she has a tendency to use it like a weapon.” Demi is less aggressive than Madonna (like almost everyone on the planet), but I could see Kabbalah enabling their celebrity members. It’s not like they’re going to question one of their main donors. Here’s E!’s report, which also states that Demi’s youngest daughter, Tallulah, has been living with her dad, Bruce Willis. Tallulah turns 18 on Friday. Bruce’s second wife, Emma Heming, is pregnant. They made the announcement in late October so she’s probably at least six months along now. Rumer has been seen out and about and seems to have confirmed that Demi is not in rehab.
While rumors have surfaced suggesting she’s already entered a residential rehab facility (with Utah’s Cirque Lodge among the most speculated upon), sources tell E! News that as of last week, at least, Moore was not enrolled in such a program. Her exact whereabouts are uncertain, as she has yet to surface in public since her dramatic hospitalization, though as of Sunday she was not yet back at her Beverly Hills home.
However, sources close to the Striptease star tell E! News that Moore has been receiving some sort of “spiritual counseling.”
Meanwhile, Demi’s daughters are getting back to their usual routines, with both Rumer and Tallulah turning up at the Four Seasons Hotel Sunday afternoon, possibly for a spa day. On Saturday night, Rumer was also out and about, dining with friends at a French restaurant.
Their sister, Scout, is currently at Brown University and hasn’t been back in L.A. since the hospitalization.

I would say that Demi should have someone close to her advising her that she needs to go to rehab at least for the sake of her image, but she didn’t have anyone advising her not to push the “sexy and single” angle she’s been playing since the split. Demi doesn’t have anyone around her who is able to get through to her, and if she’s been hopped up on Red Bull and ADHD stimulants for months, it’s probably impossible to talk to her anyway. I want to see her get sober and healthy and gain some necessary weight. She’s not ready yet though. I really hope that she will come to the realization on her own without sliding even further downhill. Wasn’t it humiliating enough for her to have all these details leaked to the press? Pride can be a fragile and harmful thing.

The audio from the 911 call made from Demi Moore’s home the night she went into a drug-induced seizure has been online for several days now, but for some reason people are just now getting around to noticing that her daughter Rumer is mentioned on the recording. The Daily Mail says:
During the 911 call, a male caller appears use [Rumer's] nickname, saying: ‘Hey, Ru, what’s the name at the gate so that we can buzz [the paramedics] in?’
A panicked female caller can first be heard saying: ‘She smoked something. It’s not marijuana, but it’s similar to incense… she’s convulsing and semi-conscious, barely.’
I can’t imagine anything lamer than doing whip-its with Rumer fucking Willis. In fact, “doing whip-its with Rumer Willis” sounds like some kind of punishment. Like something you’d make a pledge do right before you force them to eat a bowl of mayonnaise in between jumping jacks.

TMZ released Demi Moore’s 911 call (listen here) where it’s pretty clear she wasn’t suffering from “exhaustion” but from smoking something, “not marijuana.” I’m assuming they’re talking about a synthetic marijuana like spice which is sort of legal. When paramedics were on the scene, one of the friends added that Demi was doing whip-its.
Capt. Jaime Moore with the L.A. City Fire Dept. tells TMZ … the FD redacted portions from the tape. Sources in the City Attorney’s office tell us references to specific drugs and other substances Demi ingested were redacted because of privacy issues. As TMZ first reported, one of the friends at Demi’s house told paramedics she has been using whip-its — nitrous oxide. TMZ
An earlier report adds that Demi has been suffering from a Red Bull addiction for years. Sources from Red Bull North America say they make regular deliveries of cases of the stuff to her place. Demi even drank Red Bull instead of eating food and drink a massive amount of it two weeks ago at a party.
It’s now proven. Demi Moore has transformed back into a 16-year-old. In about a week, she’ll be writing goth poetry and trying to find a pharmacy that’ll sell her the morning after pill.

My 24/7 coverage of Demi Moore is coming along nicely. The newest rumor is that the seizure Demi Moore allegedly suffered on Monday which brought her to the hospital to seek professional help may have been caused by whip-its aka nitrous oxide aka the drug of choice for high school kids and Steve-O who still has the mind of one.
The friend said she became upset when Demi had a reaction to a whip-it and lapsed into semi-consciousness.
It appears Demi had symptoms of a seizure — after inhaling the nitrous. TMZ
The only reason kids do whip-its is if they run out of weed or can’t afford ecstasy or coke. I don’t think Demi has either of those problems so based on nothing at all, Demi was probably doing it to impress an 18-year-old she was hoping to hook-up with to get back at Ashton Kutcher. Clearly.

Demi Moore may be in the hospital now for substance abuse, er, exhaustion but on January 11, she was trashed and dancing on a table while three guys sat there watching. Saddest. Striptease. Re-enactment. Ever.
Surrounded by celebs including Brody Jenner, Jersey Shore’s Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio and Miley Cyrus, Moore “looked super skinny.”For those who know Moore, it’s not surprising to see her acting out. After coming to terms with Ashton Kutcher’s multiple infidelities (most notably with 22-year-old party girl Sara Leal), the actress announced plans to end her six-year marriage in November.
On January 15, Rumer Willis accompanied her mom to Sean Penn’s Cinema for Peace Event Benefiting J/P Haitian Relief Organization in L.A. “Demi ordered about a dozen Red Bulls that night,” a source says. The Striptease star also “took a ton of pictures of people with her iPhone” throughout the night, the source adds. “She was excited to see anyone who approached her.” Us Magazine
A dozen Red Bulls. Is that safe for people of her.. years? I figure old people only drink that many Red Bulls if they want to simulate a heart attack. Hopefully she asked for a double shot of Metamucil to go along with it.
PEOPLE has more details about the night of January 11 saying Demi was grinding on 90210‘s Ryan Rottman and tickling his bare chest.
