This story is confusing to me, because I thought that Demi and Ashton’s divorce was finally moving forward after Ashton served Demi with divorce papers over the holidays. The story went that he was waiting for Demi to pull the plug, since he wanted to give her that chance at dignity, which she’s of course incapable of having any semblance of. After Demi kept stalling and leaking stories about the boy toys she was dating instead of attempting for closure on her long-over marriage, Ashton finally filed for divorce. Rumor had it that Ashton’s girlfriend, Mila Kunis, convinced him to make it final.
Now we have the news that Demi has filed her own divorce papers. I don’t get it, couldn’t she just continue to negotiate with Ashton through their lawyers instead of incurring tens of thousands of additional legal fees by filing again? Maybe she figures she’ll more than recoup that with Ashton’s money. According to the NY Post, Demi has been trying to work with Ashton but he’s being a tightwad and doesn’t want to pay up, hence her filing again:
Demi Moore is finally filing divorce papers, 16 months after splitting up with Ashton Kutcher, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
An insider tells us she tired of trying to reach a confidential settlement with Kutcher, and that the couple?s divorce could go to a trial.
?Ashton made a lot of money after marrying Demi ? a lot more than she made ? but despite him becoming just as famous through her, he believes he doesn?t owe her that much,? the source said,? adding of Demi: ?She has had enough.?
Moore?s lawyers could file paperwork in Los Angeles as early as today, we hear. Kutcher filed divorce papers in December, a year after the couple split, but this would be the first time Moore responds. She?d been hoping to quietly negotiate a settlement and then file the papers once an agreement was reached.
But negotiations got bogged down, and, ?Ashton has been very difficult during the talks,? the insider said. ?You could even say he has been hostile.? Kutcher is the highest-paid actor on TV, pulling in $24 million last year for ?Two and a Half Men,? and he?s also become a savvy investor in various tech start-ups.
?After over a year of attempting to reach a settlement, Demi is definitely ready to move on,? the source said of her decision to file. ?It?s hoped lawyers for both sides can reach a settlement this spring, otherwise the divorce will go into litigation and trial.?
Kutcher?s being repped by LA celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser, while Moore?s retained powerhouse New York attorney William Beslow, who recently helped Linda Evangelista land a generous settlement in a child support battle with mogul Franois-Henri Pinault.
Since Moore, 50, announced she was ending her six-year marriage to Kutcher, now 35, in 2011, speculation has run rampant as to why they haven?t reached a settlement.
Demi was in New York on Monday night with friends. The source added, ?She is healthy and happy, and just wants to move on with her life.?

Kaiser thinks that Demi is trying to go public with the news that Ashton isn’t playing fair, by Demi’s estimation, in order to get a bigger settlement. That would make sense. Also, of course Page Six has this news. They’ve run stories in the past about how sexy Demi is and which much-younger guy is her flavor of the month. I’m not buying that Demi has been trying to reach a settlement with Ashton for “over a year.” Ashton just filed at the end of 2012. BUT if Ashton is trying to make sure Demi doesn’t get a fair portion of his earnings during their marriage, I understand on some level why she’s pushing for this. Isn’t she filthy rich in her own right though? I’m having trouble mustering up any sympathy for her, probably because she’s been trying to get the public’s sympathy for so long now.

Getting in an early afternoon work out, Demi Moore hit the gym in Sherman Oaks, CA on Tuesday (January 22).
Arriving with a pal, the "G.I. Jane" actress wore cropped tights and a grey cardigan as they headed inside Qi Place to get their sweat on.
In career news, Ms. Moore's new film "Very Good Girls" is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah this week.
The drama also stars Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen and is slated to be released in theaters later this year.

She was photographed dancing like a chicken, and she was acting so goofy that her new much-younger boyfriend, 26 year-old art dealer Vito Schnabel, dumped her for potentially damaging his business reputation. After that we didn’t hear much about Demi except when Ashton Kutcher filed for divorce at Christmas finally, after they were separated for over a year. So what did Demi do to get over her heartbreak? She headed to a fitness resort and boned a bunch of random young guys. That’s one way to handle it:
Just after Ashton Kutcher filed for divorce from her, Demi Moore spent Christmas week shaping up at a bikini boot camp, engaging in yoga, Zumba dancing, circuit training, meditation ? and hot hook-ups with younger men ? according to a new report from Star.
A source described the bootcamp at Tulum, Mexico?s Amansala resort as a ?weight-loss vacation? where ?guests tend to be accomplished women in their 30s and 40s,? and word has it that 50-year-old Demi burned up more than a few calories between the sheets!
Eyewitnesses added that the soon-to-be ex-wife of Kutcher was seen retreating to her room with younger men more than once; and that the resort fielded a call from a guest grousing that Demi?s ?very, very loud sex? had been keeping them awake.
?Demi was clearly after younger men on this trip; they were all about 28 to 33,? a guest told Star. ?There were three or four older guys staying at the resort, fifty-plus, and I don?t think she talked to them at all.?
Another source said that in an odd twist, Demi wanted to be addressed by the name ?Topper,? an esoteric reference to a 1937 Cary Grant film in which a man lives his life to the fullest.
?Demi almost came across as, I wouldn?t go as far as to say bipolar, but up and down,? one source said, while another said that Demi?s ?back-and-forth behavior just kind of killed the mood.?

I believe this happened, but I really want to at least see an instagram of Demi on the dancefloor at this resort. It seems like someone would have tweeted a photo of her or something. Also, what the hell is this “Topper” business? So Demi is going through a midlife crisis (a little late, no offense but it is) and she’s embracing it? You know, it was actually really clever of her, in her ADHD drugged-out state, to use a guy’s moniker. She’s reminding us that if a man were cruising for young chicks on holiday no one would think twice about it. Or maybe she stupidly thought she had a genius pseudonym. I shouldn’t give her too much credit. It’s not like was trying to find herself on a spiritual retreat to a remote location. She was partying and bedding guys.

We exclusively revealed Moore and Schnabel, the dapper son of acclaimed artist Julian Schnabel, hit it off at Naomi Campbell?s lavish birthday bash for her lover Vladimir Doronin in Jodhpur, India in early November.
But things cooled off dramatically in Miami, with the pair staying apart and exchanging glances at a bash for art collectors? Web site Art.sy at Soho Beach house on Wednesday.
The breakup didn?t appear to faze Moore, who hung out with Lenny Kravitz and later headed out for a girls night at Le Baron at Jelsomino with pals including Stacy Kiebler until 3:30 a.m.

Yesterday we heard the story, from People Magazine, that Demi Moore’s young adult daughters were basically mortified that their mother was dating a guy only slightly older than they were, a guy they knew through friends. The fact that the news originated in People gave it an air of authority, along with the fact that it’s common sense. Who wouldn’t be upset that their mom was dating someone in their peer group? Well here’s some more very embarrassing, very public news about Demi to make her daughters hide their heads in shame. Demi accompanied her new boyfriend, a 26 year-old art dealer named Vito Schnabel to celebrity hangout “Art Basel” in Miami. While there, Demi was photographed dancing like a chicken (as we’ve seen from her before) around Lenny Kravitz and looking quite cozy with Kravitz. (You can see those photos at this link, we don’t have them. In one pic, Lenny has his finger in Demi’s damn mouth.) So does that mean Demi has her sights on Lenny and that she’s kaput with her young boytoy? No! Demi was also seen making out with Vito at that same party, since she couldn’t wait until they got a room. I haven’t made out with anyone at a party since college. Ashton Kutcher’s ex Demi Moore was spotted with her rumored young boy-toy this evening at the Art.sy and Chanel BBQ at the Soho Beach House in Miami, and the duo definitely weren’t keeping their fling a secret.
An eyewitness tells E! News that Moore was publicly making out with Vito Schnabel.
“They are definitely a couple,” says the eyewitness. “She is definitely more down to party than Vito.”
Moore, who also was seen hanging out with Lenny Kravitz, was wearing clear hipster glasses and was seen dancing up a storm. “She was most ready to party than anyone else in the room.”
The actress is also set to appear alongside Schnabel tomorrow night at the Dom Perignon party at Wall nightclub in the W Hotel in South Beach.

I’m convinced now that Demi’s issues with her girls are entirely her own doing, and that she’s not going to snap out of it or grow up or do whatever she needs to do in order to move on with her life in a healthy, sober way. Look at those photos I mentioned of her at that party. She’s blitzed and it’s probably not just booze. Yes she needs to get over Ashton, but she’s doing it the entirely wrong way. I had a lot of sympathy for Demi when it came out that Ashton was a serial cheater. Now, not so much, and I’m rethinking whether that sympathy was even warranted at the time.

Yesterday we heard the story that Demi Moore’s daughters were urging her to let go of her long-over relationship with Ashton and to move on. We’ve heard for at least a year that she’s not getting over it, and during that time we’ve also heard that she’s either having serious problems with drugs or is still incredibly sexy, carefree and desirable to men half her age! Those stories of Demi’s sexiness were suspiciously timed to counter the negative news about her, and there were also stories of various romances with younger men. Well it’s time for more “Demi is sexay” news, which is being run in The NY Post. The Post ran a similar story of Demi’s sexiness about a year ago, except this time there’s a love interest and he’s all of 26:
Sources tell us that Moore, 50, has been quietly spending time with Vito Schnabel, the dapper art dealer son of star painter Julian, who, at 26, is about half her age.
Moore and Schnabel first got cozy, we hear, as guests at Naomi Campbell?s over-the-top 50th birthday party earlier this month for billionaire boyfriend Vladimir Doronin in Jodhpur, India.

Vito Schnabel ? who reps New York artists including Dustin Yellin, Laurie Anderson and Terence Koh ? spent the Thanksgiving weekend in Jamaica at Round Hill Hotel & Villas. But spies say that Moore wasn?t with him over the holidays and instead spent time with her daughters at Lake Tahoe. Reps for Moore and Schnabel didn?t get back to us.

This is Vito Schnabel with his dad, Julian, in February of this year. Maybe he’s grown out of his “douche” phase since this photo was taken, but I doubt it. This is the kind of guy Demi Moore considers a worthy love interest. You know, maybe Ashton just got too mature for her. I’m probably being harder on her because I suspect her of leaking this story, given how pro-Demi The Post has been in the past. I don’t know what’s worse – dating this young guy or making sure everyone knows about it. What’s she going to do if Ashton and Mila announce an engagement?
