If there is one celebrity who IS camp and who lives a completely camp life AND who can interpret a ?camp? theme correctly, it?s Celine Dion. And Celine completely delivered at the Met Gala. She looked like she took the best of 1970s Cher, threw in some Liberace, and added a dash of Thor: Ragnarok. Delightfully campy, showy, extravagant, and extra. Celine is a queen and it shows! This ensemble is Oscar de la Renta and it?s amazing. You could tell that she was having so much fun with this. Did anyone see her BFF/lover Pepe?!?! Was he there?
Regina King in Oscar de la Renta. This would have been so much better in a different color, right? Imagine this dress especially with the ruffles/shoulder detail in a turquoise or hot pink. It?s the weird beige-y gold that doesn?t work here.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also wore Oscar de la Renta. I mean, the feathered cape/coat/whatever is extravagant and campy, but I feel like Rosie?s normal styling just makes this a ?pretty? look rather than a campy look. She could wear this to the Oscars and look perfectly normal, and probably even make all of the best-dressed lists.

Celine Dion has just been signed as a L?Oreal Paris global ambassador. She?s kind of perfect for that role. I?d love to see her and fellow ambassador, Helen Mirren, do a spot together ? Helen gracefully explaining the advantages of a product and Celine running around in the background excitedly talking about how amazing! it is. Clearly Celine is tickled to have been hired on, and she should be. She?s gone through a metamorphosis since her husband, Ren Anglil, passed away. I think that?s a great message for L?Oreal to promote, not just surviving loss but learning how to flourish after it. And that?s what Celine is doing, something she credit to feeling strong.
She?s worth it! Songstress extraordinaire and style icon Celine Dion is about to embark on a world tour and work on new music? but that?s not all she?s got up her sartorial sleeve: The 51-year-old chanteuse was just announced as a spokesmodel for L?Oreal Paris to represent the brand globally.
The Canadian mother of three (son Ren-Charles, 18, and 8-year-old twin boys Eddy and Nelson) believes the brand has fueled the power of beauty, helping women feel more confident and powerful. With its slogan ?because I?m worth it?, L?Oreal has given a voice to women around the world, she says. ?Maybe you?re not out there on stage, or out there on TV, but we all have a voice. Because we are worth it. We have dreams.? And feeling good about how you look is not just a feeling, she says. ?Feeling beautiful makes you feel strong. And feeling strong makes you succeed.?
Embarking on this partnership with L?Oreal marks a new beginning for Dion, who has been reinventing herself after suffering the loss of her husband Ren Anglil in January of 2016. ?For the last couple of years, I feel like I?ve grown in a very strong and happy way. Through dance, through friendship, through my team, through motherhood.?
How has her self-care routine changed as her life?s evolved? The self-described ?dramatic? turned to ballet as a way to reduce stress and do something for herself in her little downtime. ?I decided, when I met Pepe [Muoz, her dancer, trainer, stylist and frequent companion], that maybe it?s a sign.? Ballet is ?so romantic, dramatic, sensual, it?s like a dream,? she says.

?Feeling beautiful makes you feel strong. And feeling strong makes you succeed.? This is very on brand or both Celine and L?Oreal. Obviously feeling beautiful comes from a very different place than trying to make yourself look beautiful to the outside world. Feeling it comes from within and in that context, the quote works. It?s not my favorite way to say it but I agree with the sentiment. Confidence is a powerful tool in whatever you are hoping to accomplish but find it in yourself first. Celine embodies this idea. She had to take full control of her life and career after Ren had managed every aspect of her since she was an adolescent. And she?s thrived.
Celine told People, ?I never really felt confident beauty-wise. I?ve never felt as beautiful, as strong, and I really think that the best is yet to come.? This surprised me. Not the best is yet to come part, but that?s she didn?t feel confident beauty-wise. I?ve always had the impression there wasn?t anything she wasn?t confident about, just goes to show you. Of course, that last bit about her self-care evolving since she met Pepe and how he?s reducing her stress ? I imagine Pepe is doing wonders for her confidence? among other *ahem* things.

What a difference a ?do makes. Celine Dion, kicked off her Asian tour in Tokyo Tuesday night, much to the delight of everyone. And, of course, its Madame Celine so you just knew she?d king things off with a bang ? or bangs, as it was. Prior to her performance, Celine posted this to her Instagram:

Celine Dion is performing to sold out houses in Las Vegas, raising her sons, Ren-Charles, 17, and twins Eddy and Nelson, seven, and still processing the death of her husband Ren Anglil. Ren died two years ago from throat cancer. It seems that before he passed, he was very concerned that Celine move forward for both herself and their boys. Something she said she is trying to do every day while keeping him in her heart. According to a new interview with Australia’s Stellar Magazine, Celine has had a bronze cast made of Ren’s hand, which she shakes before every performance.
It’s been two years since Ren Anglil passed away, but for Cline Dion, her late husband is always with her.
“I shake my husband’s hand and knock on wood with him every night before every show,” Dion explained. “Even after he’s gone, I still talk to him.”
“My husband wanted me to go back onstage before he passed, that’s what he wanted the most,” Dion said. “So I went back onstage while he was still alive; he wanted to make sure I could keep going. So I did prove to him yes, ?I could keep going. I told him I’ve got the kids and that he’s got to trust me, he’s got to relax.”
“He taught me so much. He did a great job; what he had been giving to me all his life and all my life will always be with me,” Dion shared. “He gave me his all. He mortgaged his house to pay for my first album. I guess before he left he wanted to make sure I was fine. I’m trying to prove to him every day I’m fine. Our kids are growing, we feel strong. We’re good.”

God forbid I suffer a life-threatening illness, but I would do the same thing Ren did in trying to ready my family for my absence. I’ve already jotted down important information and told my husband and parents where to find it just in case I get hit by a bus.
I think this touches on a huge part of Celine and Ren’s relationship, which is not only a large age difference but the age at which they got together. Ren was 38 and Celine was 12 when he began managing her career. They started dating when she was 19. Celine was dependent on Ren as a father figure for most of her life. He took care of everything as her manager and I am sure that was true in their home life. So, I believe he was worried how she would handle taking over the reins once he was gone. I also believe that she and the kids are fine. I’ll bet she didn’t know at some point if she could do it, only that she had to. And once she realized she could, she got stronger every day. As for Ren’s bronze hand, I have a bunch of talismans from people who have given me strength in my life, so I get it. But I have to wonder – what is it attached to?
Another subject on which Celine and I agree is age and fashion. She told Stellar re: her sudden surge as a fashionista, “It’s never too late to feel good about yourself. It’s fun, it makes you feel really sexy and there’s no age limit on that.” Sing it, Sister!

Another day, another check in with our favorite Canadian fashionista/chanteuse, Cline Dion. The 49-year-old singer is still wowing the crowds in Paris with a seemingly endless parade of fashions. Earlier this week, she managed to get her sons in the act, stepping out for a shopping excursion with her 6 and 1/2-year-old twin sons Eddy and Nelson. Not pictured is her oldest son Ren-Charles, 16.
Cline wore what every Mom wears when taking her kids to the mall, a baseball-themed silk Gucci ensemble topped off with stilettos and red latex socks. The top with beaded floral embellishments is pretty cool. I’m not sure I could commit to the matching pants though. And, as much as I love Cline’s taste in shoes, I can’t get going with the latex socks. I mean, wouldn’t they make your feet sweat terribly? I know, fashion isn’t always pretty, but, woof. The outfit is part of the designer’s spring 2017 collection and, if you’ve got a spare $1040 laying around, you too could own Gucci’s “Sandal with removable latex sock.” I’ll pass, but I would be delighted to own that gorgeous black Herms Birkin bag. The boys exuded style in their graphic tees (love the Kurt Cobain one) and Converse kicks.
On Tuesday, Cline emerged from her Le Royal Monceau Hotel digs wearing a pink, floral print Gucci dress and strappy black stilettos. Compared to some of her fashions of late, this one was particularly tame. She wore her hair slicked back into a bun and sported her now trademark oversized sunglasses. I’m not a huge fan of florals, but Cline kind of pulls it off.
Also earlier this week, Cline inspired flashbacks to the backward white John Galliano tuxedo she wore to the 1999 Oscar ceremony with another all-white ensemble. The head-to-toe look, from her wide-brimmed hat to her cape with scalloped cutouts was from Ralph & Russo?s fall 2016 couture collection. I think the blouse and pants are wonderful; I really love the cut of the pants in particular. The cape? Not so much and the headwrap is giving too much Norma Desmond for my taste.
One thing I have to give Cline props for her is her devotion to her fans. In all of the photos you see of her, she’s happily greeting her fans. It looks like she takes the time to acknowledge how grateful she is for them, which is kind of awesome. And, let’s admit it, aren’t we all at least a little curious of what get-up she’s going to be spotted in next? Cline will be blessing Europe for a few more weeks – her European tour will conclude in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 5 – and then she’s heading back to the States to return to her Caesars Palace residency in Las Vegas on September 19.

Canadian chanteuse Cline Dion continues to transform the streets of Paris into her own personal runway with some more ?out there? fashions, courtesy of her stylist, self-described ?image architect? Law Roach. Her exploits are being documented on Vogue?s Instagram page, with the hashtag #celinetakescoture.
The 49-year-old singer showed off this sparkly number on Tuesday. The Swarovski bedazzled chainmail mini dress by Schiaparelli is paired with glittering lace up boots (which, probably no surprise to any of you who read my fashion posts could ascertain, I love). In their caption on the post, Vogue described the look as ?a little Twiggy, a little Tina Turner.? I actually like this look a lot. It?s fun and I like the throwback, 60s-era vibe.
"They see me; I don't see them," is Celine Dion's line on the great blob of paparazzi and fans that follows her everywhere. She gives them any picture they ask for, plus a great many more. Consider an appointment with at the house of Schiaparelli, where she poses for the creative director Bertrand Guyon on a window sill overlooking the Place Vendome. She wears a tiny whimsical dress of Swarovski chainmail re-embroidered with yet more crystals and high sparkly Victorian boots–a little Twiggy, a little Tina Turner. Says her dancer Pepe Munoz: "That's a rockstar!" Says Libby Hahn, who handles public relations for the house: "I am fairly certain she was a rockstar before she put on the dress." Says Celine's own longtime photographer Denise Truscello (a Canadian cinephile with her own rockstar style), thinking of the long lenses poised on the place below: "Is the dress pulled down in the back?" This was Celine Dion?s first Met Gala and she brought it, I guess. She is styled and dressed like Sarah Jessica Parker and is wearing Atelier Versace in what looks like a sparkly white t-shirt covered by an asymmetrical pinned-on bodice and a long wrap skirt. She also took the high hair trend next level with what look like ribbons and spikes embedded on top. This is embracing the theme definitely. With that hair and that dress she should have gone for lighter makeup though. I think that’s what’s reminding me of Sarah Jessica Parker, the heavy dark eye makeup. Speaking of SJP, where was she last night? Did Celine take her place?
Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys wore matchy black custom Rag and Bone outfits, with Matthew in a kilt and Keri in a tuxedo jacket and pants, which is clever as anything. I googled ?do Welsh men wear kilts? and found that they do, although it?s relatively new as the kilt originated in Scotland of course. I guess it?s called a cilt there. Keri?s makeup and hair are killer. I love these two so much.

Laura Dern wore this navy cutout Gabriela Hearst gown featuring squares at the bustline and a graphic polka dot print back. This is a bit plain for the theme but the details add interest. Plus her styling is lovely and understated. Gorgeous necklace.

Celine Dion is still very much grieving the loss of her husband, Ren Anglil, who died last year from throat cancer. I don?t think that really surprises anyone, Celine and Ren?s lives intersected in every way, they were married for 21 years, parents to three boys and Ren managed and guided her career since she was 12 years old. Because of this, Celine has not yet let Ren go enough to date someone else. He is still very much present in her life, right down to advising her from beyond the grave.
As far as she is concernedRene Angelil, who died of throat cancer at 73 last year, is still with her at virtually every moment ? when she?s on stage, when she?s making new music and, most importantly, when she?s with her three children.
?I think I will probably grieve for the rest of my life,? she says of her fellow Canadian, who was 26 years her senior.
But she adds with a hopeful smile: ?Rene has prepared me for all my life since I?m 12.
?I have never met another man in my life, never kissed another man in my life.
?I miss him a lot. I miss him a lot ? for my partner, for the man I was embracing, kissing, making love with. My worries, my dreams?.?.?.??
Celine still relies on Rene?s advice, too, consulting with a portrait of him recently that was painted by a fan when she had to decide whether to record a new song for Disney?s hit Beauty And The Beast remake.
She recalls: ?I went and found one of the paintings that one of the fans gave me of my husband and I said, ?Should I do this??
?And the answer I got back ? I don?t want that to sound like ghostly or anything like that ? but emotionally what I got back from that was, ?You have nothing to lose?.?
There is a deep sadness watching Celine sing lyrics to her famous song My Heart Will Go On ? the theme to Titanic ? which she admits now has a different meaning to her.
But when I ask if her heart will go on one day, by finding a new love, she shakes her head forcefully then says: ?Now it is definitely too soon for me. I am definitely in love with him (Rene), married to him.
?He?s the love of my life. It?s very difficult for me to see myself with another person. The love that I have for him, I live it every day. And as a woman, we do have emotions and feelings that come and go. And it?s always with him.
?When I sing, it?s with him. When I hug my kids, it?s for him and it?s with him. I took time to grieve and I?m still grieving.?

Because Celine was 12 and Ren was 38 when they met, many want to tar him with the Svengali brush. I used to be one of them but no longer. It?s unusual, certainly, but Celine was obviously very happy in her marriage and she clearly misses him for all the reasons one misses a partner. Ren also empowered Celine. Before he died, he educated Celine in all aspects of the business rather than find someone to replace him in his role. Plus, she?s said repeatedly that she knows she has to be the strength of the family and is trying hard to make sure Ren-Charles does not feel like he has to assume a parental role to replace his father. I wouldn’t be surprised if she never remarried but whatever she ultimately does, I?m glad she is taking her time. She needs to breath and find out who she is now, on her own. Celine wears her emotions on her sleeve but she’s not nave.
Kaiser linked Celine?s performance at the Bee Gee tribute last Sunday, did any of you see it? I have a borderline obsession with the Bee Gees. It?s hard to explain, just know that I have three pieces of matching furniture in my house named after them. Like we say ?Can you hand me my glasses? They?re on Robin.? So imagine my reaction to Celine singing Immortality for Barry and dedicating it to Robin, Maurice, Andy as well as her brother, Daniel, and Ren. She paired her performance with video of the Brothers singing it so she was collaborating with them in this ethereal homage. Then she walks down the stairs and Barry?s singing along and I?m trying to hear the song over my sobs ? here, just watch for yourself:

Celine Dion has been bringing her fashion game lately, although she?s still veering into fug territory often. Whatever you can say about Celine?s style, she brings a kind of humor to her looks, so that even when she?s dressed like a 70s nightclub singer she kind of pulls it off. Celine has a new brief interview with Vogue (where she?s wearing a yellow blouse with pleats and ruffles coupled with a black loose bow tie). They ask her some ?this or that? questions and it?s cute.
Pajamas vs. pantsuit
Oh my God, it?s got to be pajamas. It?s got to be like a pajama you can go to the Oscar[s] with.
Tattoos vs. piercings
I?ve seen so many people, they have tattoos when they?re young and they get older and the name changes. It used to be Louise and now it?s like Louis. It?s gravity baby, it?s going down. I?ve got to admit that since my husband passed away, I might have his heartbeat [tattooed] on my body for the rest of my life.
Balenciaga dress vs. Vetements Titanic sweatshirt
I love the Balenciaga dresses, but the Titanic was like special.
Fashion vs. Comfort
I don?t care about comfort. The day you start caring about comfort you?re getting old and I?m just starting so I?m not getting old.

When Celine said she might get her husband?s heartbeat as a tattoo she started choking up and it was sweet. She also wagged her finger during the fashion vs. comfort question like she was schooling us. My personal style is more of a hybrid of fashion and comfort. I like wrap dresses, wedge shoes (sorry Kaiser!) and easy to wear pieces which are fashionable and still allow you to move around, sit without having them ride up too far, and breathe. It sucks when you?re in an outfit that pinches or when you get a gorgeous new pair of shoes and then end up with painful blisters. I?m not that old, Celine! Some of us are just practical about fashion.

The photo above is Celine Dion wearing Giambattista Valli at their show during Paris Fashion Week. I don?t love it. I am generally opposed to any sort of tiered-ruffled skirts for people over the age of four, even though I understand they are this season’s trend. The busy black and white pattern almost gives a feathery effect, which I would like except I am angered by the bodice. See-through heavy lace with a faux bib ruffle? Her coat is sensational, there is a better shot of the coat below. Look at her face, though. Her skin looks amazing. According to The Cut, Celine has been actively trying to change up her style of late and it has really been paying off. She is getting high marks from all the fashion mavens.
The person who’s been causing the most commotion at the biannual couture shows this week in Paris is not a 21-year-old ingenue or a fashion blogger. She’s a 48-year-old, sternum-thumping musical icon who’s not too cool to throw a double thumbs-up in the front row. Yes, Celine Dion has taken on couture, and couture will never be the same.
Possibly doing research for her upcoming lifestyle brand, Dion has thus far been spotted at Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli ? at the latter, she gave the show a standing ovation and yelled out “Bravo!” (Apparently she’s not on vocal rest at the moment.) Not only has she been impeccably dressed for both outings, she has been transforming her look for some time now, with help from her new stylist, Law Roach, who also works with Zendaya. Believe it or not, Dion ? not a grungy Tbilisi starlet ? was the first person to wear Demna Gvasalia’s designs for Balenciaga; she’s also been seen sporting pieces by Virgil Abloh’s label Off-White and Jil Sander. Today French Vogue hailed Dion’s “new fashion credibility.” (Where were all these accolades back when she was pioneering the backwards suit?)

First of all, I loved Celine?s backwards suit. I don?t mean I remember it fondly, I mean I have been making mental tweaks to its styling since 1999 to wear when I finally make my red carpet appearance. And probably the hat too.
Of course the Canadian Goddess didn?t just politely nod and golf-clap during the show. You can see a play-by-play of Celine?s facial expressions here. I didn?t know Celine was starting a lifestyle brand? Apparently the brand will come out fall 2017 and her manager says they are going to ?develop a lifestyle brand that translates Cline?s passions?family, music, performing, entertaining, fashion?into unique products and experiences for her fans around the world,? Huh. Oh my God ? do you think she will sell the backwards tuxedo?!? Truthfully, I am thrilled Celine is having a good time in Paris. It?s nice to see her smiling after losing her husband and brother.
This is Celine at the Dior show. There is not a single thing I would do differently ? I love this look top to bottom.
These looks are not from PFW but just Celine out and about in Paris prior. If you ever try to picture me, dress me in this grey outfit but have me wearing it while I am grocery shopping or something.
