Nicole Kidman?s representative is denying a report that she and Keith Urban are trying to adopt from Vietnam. The report originated from the Australian tabloid New Idea Magazine, who sourced a named deputy at Vietnam?s Department of International Adoption as saying that ?Nicole Kidman wants a baby from Vietnam. We’ve been approached by the American Embassy.? So, is this denial to be taken at face value? The Daily Mail makes an interesting case for the original adoption report?s accuracy, actually.
Nicole?s lawyer reportedly told some media outlet ?’We are not going to discuss this situation.? Which could mean that there?s actually an adoption situation to be discussed.
Meanwhile, the same representative denying the adoption rumor claims that Nicole?s lawyer hadn?t given a statement. Hmm. Here?s the thing - parts of the story don?t quite add up. If Nicole and Keith were adopting in Vietnam, they would be doing it through the Australian embassy, considering they?re both Australian citizens. Not only are Nicole and Keith not American citizens, the State Department closed down adoptions from Vietnam more than a year ago because of concerns over human trafficking and corruption. Australia still allows its citizens to adopt from Vietnam, though.
Nicole Kidman’s representatives have denied claims that the actress and her husband Keith Urban want to adopt a baby from Vietnam.
The couple had reportedly approached the Vietnamese authorities to begin the process of finding a sibling for daughter Sunday Rose, who turns one next month.
But Nicole’s spokeswoman said: ‘I am aware of this rumour out of Australia’s New Idea tabloid. It is a complete fabrication, there is no truth to it whatsoever.’
Dang Minh Dao, deputy of the Department of International Adoption at the Ministry of Justice in Hanoi told Australia’s New Idea magazine: ‘Yes, Nicole Kidman wants a baby from Vietnam. We’ve been approached by the American Embassy.’
He refused to say whether the couple had discussed having a boy or a girl, saying: ‘This is very sensitive information. We are keeping it closed.’
However, the US and several other countries are refusing to deal with Vietnam on adoptions because of fears of baby trafficking and corruption.
The Vietnamese Government has now agreed to inspections from UNICEF and other organisations to check its adoption procedures but it could take up to a year before adoptions are officially sanctioned.
Nicole and Keith, both 41, are Australian citizens even though they live in Nashville, Tennessee.
Trinh Thi Tre at the Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City said: ‘It’s still possible to adopt from Australia.’
But she refused to discuss the couple’s application, saying: ‘I’m not allowed to say anything about that.’
A spokesman for Nicole’s Australian lawyer Stuart Gibson reportedly said: ‘We are not going to discuss this situation.’
But Nicole’s spokeswoman said her lawyer was never approached.
Nick Keegan from The Kianh Foundation which supports the Hoi An Orphanage in Hoi An City, said: ‘We’ve heard rumors our orphanage is being considered but we haven’t heard any more.’
Keith’s previous battle with alcohol would not derail the process, according to Mary Ann Russell at the US Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City.
‘They would just need to prove they are a reformed character and that their problems with drink or drugs was in the past,’ she said. ‘At the end of the day, the main factor is the money. That’s what really matters.’
It can cost more than 15,000 to adopt a child through an agency in Vietnam. The fee could increase with cash payments to Government officials and orphanages.
The star has previously spoken about her difficulties having children.
She suffered and ectopic pregnancy - a condition in which an embryo starts to develop in a fallopian tube instead of in the womb - early in her marriage to Tom Cruise.
It led to the couple’s decision to adopt a girl, Isabella, 16, and Connor, 14.
She managed to fall pregnant again but it ended in a miscarriage around the time Cruise filed for divorce from her in 2001.

The rumor going around last week was that Nicole is expecting her second child with Keith, but many are doubtful. It wouldn?t surprise me if Nicole and Keith were looking to do a foreign adoption quietly, and gossipy Vietnamese officials aren?t helping the cause of privacy. All in all, I?d say that, at most, Nicole probably started to do some inquiries about adoption, but got scared off when people started blabbing.

There are rumors swirling that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are expecting their second child together. Daughter Sunday Rose (or Sunday Roast, if you prefer) was born last July to great fanfare in Nashville (born on a Monday, I might add). Nicole turns 42 years old on June 20th, and Keith is 40 years old. The main reason people seem to be gossiping about Nicole?s womb seems to be for two reasons. First, she was photographed with a ?bump? recently, which could mean she?s either pregnant or she?s just started looking less fragile and emaciated (good for her). Secondly, she?s gone back to her bright red hair after spending the past five years or so trying to convince us she?s a strawberry blonde. I don?t really see what the red hair has to do with babies, considering she was doing that blonde stuff to her hair throughout her pregnancy with Sunday, but whatever:

Word in Hollywood is that Kidman — who recently dyed her hair back to her natural color, red, and has been sporting a poochy stomach — is pregnant again.
Kidman and husband Keith Urban have one child, Sunday Rose, but Kidman’s talked about her trouble getting pregnant in the past — and how she’d like more children.
A rep for Kidman said, “Not to my knowledge,” but we say, good luck!

I don?t doubt that Nicole would like another baby, and if she is pregnant, good for her. But I doubt it. Then again, I have significant bias about Nicole?s first pregnancy - I tended to think there was something sketchy about the whole deal, but I?m probably in the minority. In any case, with Sunday?s gestation, Nicole announced her pregnancy in the first trimester. So why wouldn?t she tell us this time?
Note by Celebitchy: I don’t think Nicole is pregnant as she doesn’t have much of a tummy at all. She sometimes has that tiny “pooch” but it’s very small and doesn’t mean she’s expecting.

I believe the scientific term we’re looking for here is “liar, liar pants on fire.” I’m sure Nicole would be raising her eyebrows in vehement protest right now if her glabellar muscles weren’t packed full of botulinum poison.

When Nicole Kidman stepped out with husband Keith Urban at the Country Music Awards Sunday night, she stunned the red carpet in both good and bad ways. The good way, because her figure looked great and she was wearing a beautiful black, beaded, backless dress. Bad, because Nicole?s hair was a mess in my opinion, but others noticed it too.
After the awards show, she was showing off pictures of baby Sunday Rose on her cell phone. Sunday had come to Las Vegas with Nic and Keith, and she told reporters how much little Sunday loved Sin City. The baby actually liked all of the neon, and Nicole joked ?Vegas is obviously a good spot for a baby.? Showbiz Spy has more:
Nicole Kidman is planning on taking family holidays in Las Vegas because her baby daughter loves it so much.
When the Golden Compass star visited Sin City with husband Keith Urban for the Country Music Awards, Sunday — who was born in July last year — was mesmerized by all the neon lights and bright colors.
Kidman says, “Sunday Rose loved Vegas!?
“There were a lot of lights there and it was very sparkly, so she loved looking at them and when we were driving along she was gazing out of the window. Vegas is obviously a good spot for a baby.”

I?ve met some who freak out when there is too much sensory overload. Of course, I?ve seen babies freak out when they see a bald man, too. Babies are weird. It?s cool that Sunday is so chilled out she was just enjoying Vegas - she?ll probably end up in showbiz, just like her mom!

Nicole Kidman has been fairly diligent about keeping 8-month-old daughter Sunday Rose away from the paparazzi. But on Tuesday the photographers got new pictures of her ? in fact they?re some of the clearest photos we?ve seen of the baby so far. Nicole took Sunday to a Gymboree class in Nashville. Afterwards both mother and daughter are seen exiting the building looking pretty tired ? and Sunday?s got the most adorable flushed Pink cheeks.
Nicole Kidman takes little Sunday Rose to a Nashville Gymboree Play & Music Center Tuesday, March 10th, afternoon where they both played, danced, and sang with the other mothers and kids. Kidman revealed a slight belly bulge perpetuating the rumors that she may be pregnant with baby #2. As the two left the play center, Kidman looked attentively at a sleepy and over-stimulated Sunday Rose, who resembles her mother more and more each month.

I doubt Nicole is already pregnant again. And I?ll point out that even when she was pregnant with Sunday, you could barely tell. It was as if she were standing straight up in Nicole?s belly instead of curled in the fetal position. If Nicole had even a slight bump, I?d put her at a solid 7 months along. That woman?s womb is supernatural or something.
Nicole does appear to be really exhausted. She?s always so perfectly put together ? it?s sort of nice to see her looking like a semi-regular new mom.
